Lahore Kebab House has a capacity of 300 people and they're almost always jam packed. Friday and Satruday nights are insane. They sell reasonably priced delicious meals and despite having a lot of staff the demand is really high. I understand they can't possibly invest more time in making their plates more presentable as their aim is to cater to the high demand.. which is what you pay for. You can't expect Ritz service where you're only paying approx £10 for a main, can bring your own booze and are not even asked for a service charge. Having said that, I've been going to LKH for 7, 8 years now and I absolutely love their food. Their chicken and prawn Briyani, fish, haleem, everything is mouthwatering. My friends and I absolutely love the food at this place. LKH has been around for about 40 years for a reason.. the owner overseers while Emran and Asif run the show! Well done and way to go. Though my recommendation would be to add service charge as the staff deserve tips :)

Lahore is definitely an establishment of Whitechapel with a long history but after going the last 6 years I have noticed it can really be hit or miss. There’s also been a small price hike combined with a slight decline in quality. Definitely better for groups and I might return just for some key dishes but yeah, be warned! The atmosphere also isn’t amazing, it’s a bit dirty sometimes. Papadoms only came with one chutney this time which surprised me as I remember in the past getting 3? Much less enjoyable without the onion and pickle. I asked for pickle an received some which was nice however it was very chunky and had a very hard shell of some kind inside. The onion bhajia haven’t changed much and are still really good, smaller portion than I remember but still a lot bigger than most places and worth it. The best thing I had. The kebabs are also good, and good value for money. They used to be spicier but a they’re still good. Lamb chops used to be good I didn’t have them this time but I noticed a lot of people were still ordering them. The lamb madras was also good however very very spicy and I usually like vindaloo. The sag paneer was disappointing because I used to like it, however this was made with tinned spinach which I don’t like and it was too greasy. Naan was nothing special, I liked the garlic butter but the bread wasn’t as fluffy or large as other naans.

We had a feast of a meal as usual. The service was quick and attentive. We ordered too much, but took home the left overs. The food is authentic and tasty. This is a no frills place, and it can be loud due to the crowds. But it you want to have a good time with your friends and family, this place is highly recommended.

Whattay brilliant find on a late Saturday night dinner. Stumbled on this on Google Maps and decided to drop in at about 0030 hours for dinner. Ordered the Meat Biryani and Chicken roll. The biryani was 10/10 - huge serving sizes with great balance of spice and meat, would have ideally not wanted peas in it, but not a deal breaker. It literally reminded me of Karachi (Pakistan). The roll was huge also, but came wrapped in a roti (versus a paratha) against expectation. Cucumber and onions were a little overpowering, but overall not bad. Service is good and the lads are pleasant. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for desi food experience in East London.

A London institution. I lived up the road for a number of years, and this stark, basic, always bustling and bright canteen space was a home from home. Wonderful Pakistan cooking, with a welcome bring your own booze policy. You absolutely have to get the kebabs and the lamb chops. Don't ever think about coming here on anything other than the emptiest of stomachs. This is big, fattening, life affirming, gee-tastic cooking of the most flavoursome and fun kind.

The food was cold and so hard that we could not finish. Need to focus them to improve food quality.

Been meaning to come here for a long time after so many recommendations and I'm so happy I finally got the chance. The food was amazing and full of flavour. The lamb chops in particular were my favourite. The staff were friendly and the whole place has a street cafe vibe. This place gets really really busy. If you want a very casual Indian with a good selection and great food, this is a top pick.

We had campany Christmas lunch here. They have a lot of space but lack of stuff. One server for over 70 people the whole upper floor. That was mad. No one serving the water or drinks. No one cares for ordering. No service. We arrived 1pm and the food arrives 100 minutes later. I wasn’t hungry anymore by the time I got the food (14:40). The good thing is the price is reasonable. Almost all dishes are £12. And the taste is not bad. I had Maya which is lamb feet curry - pretty tender.

Without a doubt, one of the best South Asian restaurants I've ever had outside of South Asia. No matter how far Lahore Kebab House is from you, I promise you will never regret your visit.

CASH only Open since 1972, this establishment serves a plethora of Indian dishes. They are affordable and tasty, though you can definitely find better prices elsewhere. Service is quick, albeit lacking "a smile". The servers are efficient and taciturn, ready to serve you with that uncommon Indian hospitality. I'm not a purveyor of Indian food, in fact, I very seldom partake of the Chicken Tikaa, but the dry lamb served with rice was wholly serviceable. Nothing special, just good. The ambience shows symptoms of a restaurant yearning to project a sense of fine-dining onto what ostensibly is an Indian Curry House. But that doesn't stop it from attracting all kinds of crowds during dinner time. The venue is spacious and clean, and the kitchen is partially visible from the dining area. All in all an adequate dining option for a group of friends craving something spicy.

A piece of my tooth broke off from a plum seed in the chicken biryani. Neither the waiter nor the menu warned about it, only after the incident. They didn’t provide the complaint book. Terrible experience.

I am a lover of Desi Asian food and I love to visit different places to eat. The worst place I visited in London. The taste of the food was rubbish and smelly. Service was bad as well. They changed the chicken Tikka twice but it was smelly when I asked the waiter to try it but he refused to taste it too. We ordered chicken Tikka, lamb kebab, and chicken kebab garlic naan, roti and chicken karrahi.

This was our first time at Lahore Kebab house. We had the chilli Paneer and lamb chops to start. The chops were succulent, spicy and delicious. We had the dry meat curry and a kerma nan to follow. Both were excellent

Awful experience. Just made an order ans the delivery guy (Mohammed Noor) arrived with the order totally damaged. The whole order is in miserable condition with the biryani opened and the indian chicken dishes sauces spilled over and mixed together. We refused to collect the order from the delivery man and took photos trying to call you but not able. I am very stressed as I have friends arrived from abroad and invited to the dinner. The problem is that the delivery man confirmed the delivery and put a side photo!! Trying to call the restaurant keep giving me it's busy. Not honest delivery guy! And unprofessional restaurant. AVOID delivery from this restaurant. ** Additional point: finally the restaurant answered and simply they told me that it's not their responsibility, it's the courier who handled the dishes inappropriately, which I partially could understand sometimes, but in this situation particularly, you didn't covered the dishes well, and you insisted to put the 6 dishes, with all this sauces, in only one thin bag (obviously a recycling bag not for food). No sir, you are responsible as well. Do you expect a customer with such experience would re-order?!!!

Always busy always good food A hidden gem in London Will keep coming back. Its a must try for lovers of no frills proper curry Popular with locals and service is always fast. They don't have a alcohol licence so it's BYOB and off licence is next door across the road. Lamb chops are a must for starters Love the lamb dishes in general Always tasty always a good portion Cheese dishes are also fab as is the rest of it. Could do with a few different pickle options then just mango and mint but what the heck

A monthly visit here is a must! 😋 Ever since we discovered this hidden gem, it’s been our favorite Pakistani canteen. Every dish is Gorgeous and you just cannot control yourself to eat slowly with their garlic naan together! 😋 My favorite is the chicken curry with bones! Not everyone wants to bother to enjoy meat with bones and I do! It’s much more savoury somehow! 😋 My bf loves chickpeas Every Single Time! 😋 Yummy guaranteed! 😉

Had a meal here for a friend's birthday. First time in a Pakistani restaurant. There were a lot of us and service was good. We ordered a mix of starters for us all to share and my god they're tasty! Everyone seemed to agree. I wasn't sure what to order for the main so I played it safe. It was all very tasty and my friend next to me ventured out and tried different things and I wish I had too! I would highly recommend trying here as I was very impressed with the food. On a side note they don't serve alcohol so it's "bring your own" There is a small shop just round a corner for that.

We really enjoyed our time here. I would say it's some of the best non-veg Indian food that I've had in a while. Nicknamed "Lahore's", this old-school joint serves Punjabi cuisine at its best; any Pakistani or North Indian would feel right at home here. Rangeing from tikka sides and curry mains to authentic Indian sweet desserts, everything served really hits the spot in the heart that says: "back in our homeland". Something that I love about this place are that it is "bring-your-own-drinks"; they don't serve alcoholic drinks, however you can bring any you want - beers, spirits, e.t.c. - at no extra charge. Another thing is that the whole vibe is just great; if you like a busy, buzzing and exciting atmosphere then you won't get better than here, even on weekdays. There is an unfortunately low standard of customer service here, which is why I docked a star off from the rating. I will explain why: The supervisor seemed very angry and he and other staff don't seem to aknowledge people entering who want to be seated... Moreover, they are very stingy with requests such as asking for more tissues. Through the meal, some staff seemed to be messing around, spraying water onto each other, avoiding eye contact with us. Seating is very badly managed; for some reason they allow some single customers to take up tables that have space for four people, then they end up making a lot of people wait at the front, only to then offer us and them seats behind the kitchen area near the cold windy open door... However!.. The waitress serving our table was absolutely fantastic. She was not our original waitress, but took over once she had worked out that nobody was helping us. She was amazing and deserves a raise, she brought great standard and dignity to the restaurant experience. Unfortunately, we did not catch her name for this review. I used to love visiting "Lahore's" while I was in university, just as my dad enjoyed the same restaurant during his own student years. Customer service may be down right now, but the food is absolutely delicious; flavoursome, spicy, wholesome, heartwarming and fulfilling. I loved it. I hope the customer service does improve on our next visit!

Best Desi food in London. Lamb chops and Mango Lassi are a must try. The only issue was the cleanliness, plates and spoons were greasy.

Tasty food, quick service, Bring your own booze, Dhaba/Machaan, a bit noisy but better than typical posh desi restaurants. Food : Taste and amount was excellent. I was in London for 4 days and went there for every dinner. Nihari and Kebabs were so yummy. In some dishes you can notice some oil on top but if you are not super health conscious, it shouldn't bother you much. Service: Service is really quick, it hardly takes them 5 minutes between ordering food and receiving it. In comparison to the top rated restaurant opposite side of the road, this place was more welcoming. I wouldn't name the other one but they are more interested in their regular customers and delivery guys. But Lahore Kebab House makes you feel at home when every Roti/Naan is coming fresh to you directly from kitchen in a snap of a finger. Atmosphere : It's not a typical posh restaurant kind of feeling but more like a Dhaba/Machaan where you can bring your own alcohol, have tasty food and chat with your friends/family. It might feel a bit noisy when you enter for the first time but slowly those noises take a back seat once food is served 😉

East London institution! Visited after a number of years. Still good - but, unfortunately not as good as it used to be once upon a time. The grilled/tandoori foods were great... Seekh kebab , lamb chops were on point! The biryani was decent too... However the curries were poor. Gosht was poor (bizarre to explain - but watered down curry but oily at the top. Was just wrong). Veg curry side was also poor. If I had to go again - I'd just have kebab naan and nothing else.

I used to go there in the 1980s and visited again yesterday. Still the same food and amazing value. Apparently it because they still have the same cooks. Sag gosht, plan nan and salad for £12.50. Still the original authentic flavours. My favourite restaurant in London for over 30 years and have seen it grow from 30 covers to over 600. We've stayed the same but everyone else has found us. Great place and you can bring your own drink

What to say about this unique restaurant..? It has a school canteen vibe, the food is OK and the service is average. But, we go there for our end-of-season curry and we're definitely not looking for fine dining. They let you bring your own booze in, it's rowdy and cheap. If you're looking for great food and a good dining experience, it's not the place for you.

Went there very early in the morning they were about to close but kind enough to serve us. Food was good and so was the service. Nice and clean big space. Must try.
