This has to be the worst Specsavers I've ever been to! (REGIONAL MANAGER PLEASE PAY A VIST TO THIS STORE!) The staff need proper training! Sort this mess out!!! I went into the store as wanted to get a new pair of glasses and the young woman that served me had no idea how to deal with me!?! She walked away when I explained I've had my eyes tested recently and I have my prescription paper from Specsavers in Scotland. I decided to asked a guy in the store and he sat me down to discuss the options as I wanted to get the thinnest lenses with the frames I picked. I asked about the HC1 form to help with the cost of getting new frames, however he ignored it completely and started with how much it would cost. I was told to come back the next following week as my new pair of glasses would be ready. I went back the next following week to be greeted by the same young woman the first time I went into the store. I said I was picking up my new glasses which she then said can you write my name on a piece of paper and sit down in the waiting area? 20 minutes later no one asked why I was in the waiting area and I went back to the front desk and asked what was going on, I explained the young woman that served me, NEVER done anything to inform a member of staff to serve me! Customer care is not a priority in this store, they won’t listen to you and you will be ignored! I got my glasses in the end, the person that served me could not care that the glasses didn’t fit me which I had to go to another opticians to get the frames adjusted properly!

Lovely staff here. I came here and within 30 mins my eye check up was completed. Dr Omar(Umar) did my check up and all through the process he and the other staff were very helpful, polite and made me at ease. They also explained ke every step and every test and why was it needed and also explained me my eye quality I had a wonderful experience and I would definitely visit here again. I recommend Specsavers (Surrey Quay) 100%

I bought my glasses at Specsavers Surrey Quays in December 2022. As of December 2023, the coating on the lenses came off and it became hard to see through them. As a comparison, the lenses I had made the previous time elsewhere (and with a price 20% higher) lasted for 4 years. I then went to the shop and asked if there was a chance to get free replacement. The answer was initially "yes, there is a chance, but we cannot guarantee as of now". Because I would have had to send my current glasses in for checking, which would have taken 5 days, I had to first get replacement glasses. So I did, at the same shop (unfortunately). Once the replacement glasses came back, the manager then told me that it is not possible to get free replacement on the original glasses because more than 100 days have passed since purchase. Had I known that in the first instance, I would not have got replacement glasses there. In conclusion, I paid Specsavers twice for bad quality lenses. Unless you are financially struggling, I recommend avoiding Specsavers because their cheap glasses are more expensive in the long run. Specsavers have cheated me just to get a second payment from me. When I said "well, your manager last time did not tell me about the 100-day time limit", instead of saying something like "I'm sorry for the confusion caused", the staff said "I'm sure they would have". Not only they cheated, the also doubted me and made me feel stupid. Very bad experience. I look forward to getting my new glasses done at a more professional supplier.

Made appointment and sat waiting for 30 min. Really poor customer service. My husband had the same experience. They just really don’t care. Surrey Quays is the worst Specsavers. Please rethink who manages your store. Really poor.

Great opticians, they seem really switched on and sharp. Staff all very helpful. They are disabled-friendly (I’m a wheelchair user). The shop gets busy at the weekends but when I was there they kept the queue moving along. It’s clean and well maintained.

The staff here are amazing. So friendly and always make you feel welcome. A kind member of staff kept my grandchildren occupied whilst i had some tests done. The staff all work well together to keep you informed and ensure you do not wait any longer than necessary.

I've been a customer in your different stores in London for over 3 years since I live here. I give 2 stars and no 1 because the manager in this store was very professional and lovely and also there are good offers. For the rest, everything was very disappointing, the craftsmanship of the end product is really bad, they hire staff with not enough experience, the lady who was at the door told me twice "sit down I'll let you know" in a rude way, you could ask her to smile at least if she is welcoming clients and selling your product. Also my frame was not fit properly, the guy who attended me tried to educate me on how this is the best that can be done, he told me "the person who recommended you this lenses did not tell you they are too big for your face" well not sure what to say about that, you mean your colleague right. So instead of actually accepting the fault and fixing it, he just told me if they are too loose just come and be will do the same, the glasses weren't perfectly clean and he did not even offer me a bag. I just did not feel it, I felt uncomfortable and and there are plenty of other opticians in London, easy peasy. I wouldn’t recommend this shop and you have lost a loyal customer. What a shame.

Regularly come here for my check up and have always had a positive experience. Staff always greet me with a smile and the optician is always professional and polite. The shop and testing rooms are always clean and tidy also. Would highly recommend.

Excellent service! Very helpful and polite. Short waiting time. Great frames collection and amazing offers. Definitely recommend that brand. I’m super happy with everything and I’m usually quite picky :)

While the collection is really good and the offers are good too, the craftsmanship of the end product is really bad. My frame has not been fit properly and the staff tried to educate me on how this is the best that can be done instead of actually accepting the fault and fixing it. Purely because of this reason, I wouldn’t recommend this shop.

It was nice, comforting experience and I feel calm after seeing the OCT results because I was feeling apprehensive about my eye pressure.

Completely incapable of doing their job. My partner brought a pair of glasses to have the lenses changed and they damaged the glasses. Really bad experience. I absolutely don't recommend it.

9.50am appointment. Seen on time. No waiting between the rooms. HONEST people.. Told my eyesight had hardly changed so no need for the expense of new glasses. Prescription given of readings. Told some signs of cataracts forming and will monitor again in 12 months. No need for concern at present.

One of the best SpecSavers branches in London. Both my child and I had eye test and new glasses here recently. It’s a much nicer and calm environment than the Peckham branch so it’s worth it to travel a bit to come here. They do free eye test for Children and over 60s and adults with eye conditions and diabetes and glaucoma risks can also have free tests. Otherwise cost £20-25. Once you have done the test, you can get a PD / pupillary distance from the optician and you can order your glasses from Glasses Direct when they have offers. Staff here are friendly and helpful. Unlike the Peckham branch, they don’t push you to purchase antiglare lenses for your child which can cost £30 every six months. Parking is free at the shopping centre car park for three hours.

I had a fantastic experience at the opticians in Surrey Quays shopping centre. The level of customer service I received was truly outstanding. Payal, in particular, went above and beyond to ensure I was well taken care of. I couldn't be happier with the service and highly recommend this optician, especially Payal, for their exceptional care and expertise. Looking forward to my next visit!

I took my brand new eyeglasses to have them fitted. They returned them to me scratched in several places and dirty!!! I bought them in a shop in Italy for the about 300 pounds!! They came out with the fact that I signed the resolution for accidental damage, ok, and if you gave them to me destroyed what the hell were we supposed to do then?! Completely incompetent and unreliable. I have eyeglasses that I use every day and they are impeccable, they scratched them from having them in my hand for half a day, do you think this is normal?! Missing a couple of glasses you know how to put it, but why don't you change jobs?! I'm still angry!!

Do not use the hearing / audiology services at this Specsavers. I recently got new NHS hearing aids from them and after a few weeks, part of it became stuck in my ear canal and had to be removed by a medical professional. I was then given a replacement part from another audiologist and the same thing happened - the NHS hearing aids supplied by this branch of Specsavers are not fit for purpose and caused me a lengthy trip to A&E and out of pocket costs for a private audiologist. To add insult to injury, I’ve been trying to contact the audiologist at this branch for several days as I’m currently without suitable hearing aids just before Christmas and despite being told three times that I’d get a call back, I’ve yet to receive one. Appalling service and a complete lack of duty of care.

I’d really like to say a big thank you to the manager. I’d come to London to support my husband who was running the marathon and realised at 5pm on the Saturday evening that I had left my contact lenses at home. The manager went out of his way to help me and saved my weekend. I can’t thank you guys enough. Above and beyond customer service.

I booked for an eye test. I was there on time for my appointment to be told that I wont be seen in less than 1 hour as there were 3 ppl before me. When I book for a certain time I'm expecting to be seen at that time. I understand that it can be 10,15,30 min late but not 1 hour!!! Also I booked online and I already fill in the form with all the information they need but the staff at the desk start again asking all my private details which made me feel interogated. AVOID IF POSSIBLE!

First time visiting this branch for an eye test and eye health check. Staff are very polite and friendly, the optician was helpful and knowledgeable. Prices are also reasonable. I am very happy with my experience here.

Tried to overcharge me for an eye appointment. Specsavers website says that eye tests cost between £20 and £25. After booking eye test here, they phones me up the day before and told me it would be £35. Didn't attend the test, as they're clearly trying to scrounge extra money

Nice and clean environment as well as courteous services from the staff. Good thing! You are not pestered to buy lens/lenses but given courteous advice.

  • 1/5 Chris D. 1 year ago on Google
Despite an online booking that includes my son's date of birth AND a phone call the day prior to reconfirm, the optician turned away an eye test for a child under 5. This after making a journey specifically for the test and having confirmed the booking twice, with his date of birth. Thoroughly unreliable, with terrible process - avoid.

Return time after time for regular check ups. I was served by dispenser, Fizzah. Who was helpful in explaining all my options. She also involved the Manager Nana, as way of confirmation and making it happen, that I was able to have larger sunglasses with varifocals. Check, check, check those measurements where spot on. Also, a great satisfying price reduction. Thank you both !!
