St Jude's Church, Hampstead

Tourist attraction Anglican church

👍👍 A wonderful example of British Gothic and Classical architecture designed in the early 20th century by the mistress behind the idyllic dream and concept of the beautifully laid out Hampstead Garden Suburbs of Golders Green, the great Dame Henrietta Barnett and her husband the Cannon of East London.... People often mention church,

Parish church of Hampstead Garden Suburb. Lovely church with large spire in central square. Gardens with grass area in square. Parking for church available. Various events held throughout the year. Historic building from formation of suburb in 1907.

A wonderful example of British Gothic and Classical architecture designed in the early 20th century by the mistress behind the idyllic dream and concept of the beautifully laid out Hampstead Garden Suburbs of Golders Green, the great Dame Henrietta Barnett and her husband the Cannon of East London. This is such a beautiful and picturesque eutopia of a place, a hidden gem almost and definitely worth a visit, if not just to dream of having the money to be able to actually afford to live here. We had a two hour 'London Walks" guided tour and it was a real treat for the day to hear the history behind the making of this oasis of calm and serenity.

An astonishing architectural jewel in the Garden Suburb. The walls and ceiling are dripping with art, and matched by a lovely worshipping community. Highly recommended

St Jude's Church is located in one of the nicest areas of north London, north Hampstead, or Hampstead Garden Suburb, right next to Henrietta Barnett girl's school, in the suburb founded by Henrietta Barnett herself. The church is a relatively new construction and dates back to the first half of 20th century. The architecture of the Church is very impressive, and the church stands tall among its very beautiful and quiet surroundings.

The church is very pretty but I went for midnight mass last year and it was somewhat clinical. I didn’t feel the spirit of Christ nearby. I think perhaps on another day it would be a different experience however. I haven’t been another time though.

Attended a Proms concert there, showcasing wonderful Musical show tunes with a jazz twist. Musicians and soloists were exceptional.
