Big shout out to the staff of dunkley ward who were incredibly professional and kind when I was sectioned here last year. I wasn't the easiest patient to deal with so I really appreciate it. Knocked off a star as I firmly believe the practice of keeping people in hospital needs to be abolished. We need to move into a place of detainment without clinical violations and more humane options like residential retreats and the use of crisis houses as a first resort. We owe this to people in crisis who can be traumatised by psyciatric coercion and forced drugging. Although these interventions are usually done with the best of intentions it is dismissive of the patient experience to assume this is the only way that works. In short, Good people in this place who do the best they can with the very limited tools and options they have.

Would give it 0 stars if possible. Refuse to go here if it is presented as an option! My mum went here for so called rehab! Carol and Callum the physios are just useless and stuck in their ways. The nursing staff are inhuman and do not care and leave patients to rot while they pretend to look busy on screens. Staff stand at the back of the ward on their phones! Awful hell hole of a place.

Very rude Middle Eastern looking young male receptionist in the main reception at the South Wing ground floor. I hope hospital management take of note of this.

Some really fabulous nurses here on Oakwood unit Tina , Jane , Marion, and several caring kind Genuine souls who work here , however 1 Asian girl that wears grey is a bully and should consider a position at hmp bronzefield /style/ a YOI would be just perfect where she will meet her match and can nudge patients/inmates all day long as she walks past them. She has a awful Aura . Plus a junior doctor initials (MC ) spoke to my patient like a child at infant school .oakwood unit served a purpose and I am forever grateful grateful to some who work there you know who you all are .

I have to say my experience in OAKWOOD WARD at South Wing was excellent!! I have been through a lot but im not going to take the SHINE away from the staffs. The nurses couldn't do enough to make me feel comfortable and pain free and most importantly with a smile nothing was too much bother and not to forget the receptionists and all the other staffs who work on that ward was BRILLIANT. Regarding the physiotherapist and the OT I would rate them 15 out of 10, being stak in the wheelchair for 8 months with no help I was walking with in 2 days in hospital with a frame, and again was nothing too much bother, absolutely brilliant. So just like to say thank you so much everyone for all the help and support I have received. I'm very disappointed, my equipment meant to be installed on the morning I was coming home, was booked between 9am till 11am and my transport was booked for 11am. Come home nothing, ok im thinking maybe they running late (it can happen). When I called them they told me only one of the item in stock and the rest they need to order. One week later still nothing, I called them still not in. Again I'm back to the same thing, stack indoors as the step in my flat is too deep and I need a hand rail to hold on to. Also the equipments which can support me in my home don't have them. I can't put it in to words how upset and disappointed I feel.....

Human rights abuse and forced injection with medications on many patients. They use "restrain" but I've seen patients beaten up black and blue and its usually the Nigerian Staff that do it. Awful

The building has been upgraded to a high standard....alas! the staff are the same, unprofessional and ill mannered bunch that hold sway there..I was a visitor last Sunday and it sickened me to observe a row of elderly patients and Stroke victims languishing in chairs set around an empty table , to stop them falling off their seats, ?? .whilst the Staff on duty seated in a bay were in what I can only describe as an eating frenzy . I asked to speak to someone in charge to discuss my concerns about the person I was visiting. A sullen member of staff dislodged her self from this group. and biting on a strawberry demanded ''what do you want?'' She continued eating . She said It would be dealt with and returned to the diners leaving me standing there, It was a relief to get outside to a rubbish ridden area and sit for a while in an unkempt garden area of overflowing stagnant water dead plants and weeds. I actually broke down and cried. I am an OAP and the prospect of my being incarcerated there gives me nightmares and for me to seriously consider Dignitas....There is too much P.C and not enough accountability nor discipline in that awful place . We who have served this Country deserve to be CARED for with respect and dignity. Its about time those in charge took action and introduced a bit of discipline and were not hog tied by PC. Our hospitals were set up to care for the sick and the disabled not as an Employment Agency managed by Government dic tacs and pressure groups. This is only the tip of the iceberg... the next stop a Care Home .Yes !! Dignitas is the only way out. DMD

Worst place to go for rehabilitation. Just few staff members are professional. I believe it’s better you sit at your home than for you to go there because your condition will only get worse

Just turned up for my annual review appointment along with another patient only to learn that appointment had been cancelled, Consultant on study leave and that an external party had rebooked us and sent a letter. No letter received by either of us. No text. No phone call. Unable to even have bloods done as no phlebotomist.
