Purpose for visiting was for dental. Very polite receptionists and dental team. Area A is the area I was directed to. Its labelled clearly. The dental area is a very large room/hall with lots of cubicles. We visited floor 22. There is a reception upon entering the hospital, which can guide you on where to go. There's also a little open shop to buy whatever you like. Travelling: one of the easiest routes to reach by car. There is disabled badge parking right outside the hospital. However, I'm not sure for normal parking. Don't forget you have to pay congestion charge. I would recommend getting on a train. There's a lot to see with beautiful views of the city.

I’m in my 30s and clinically vulnerable, so I was given the AstraZeneca vaccine in March. I developed tachycardia in my sleep after the vaccine (normal sleeping heart rate between 54-72) but raised to (102-140) after the vaccine. It was during my sleep, so could not have been related to anxiety, and I do not drink or take any drugs whatsoever. I was also really unwell after the vaccination. I was advised by my GP to seek an alternative vaccine for my second dose, and the adverse reaction was listed on my medical record. Despite this, Guy’s decided to override the medical decision of a qualified GP and insisted it was an AstraZeneca vaccine or nothing, despite the early studies already indicating that mixing doses was actually beneficial to immune response. I reluctantly accepted the AstraZeneca, and needless to say became unwell again. The ignorant doctors and nurses at Guy’s are setting themselves up for liability in Negligence. I doubt I’m the only person affected, and I hope those who developed blood clots as a result of the ignorant staff at Guy’s will pursue legal action against them. Not to mention the staff weren’t the friendliest there. I was sorry I went there. Awful place! Avoid at all costs!

There are no words in this world that can describe my feelings towards the staff. I've been treated by most kind and professional staff I've ever met before. I never thought that day will come when I need it a doctor but when it came I had the great privilege to be treat by this amazing staff. From the bottom of my heart thank you for everything what they done to me . May you always be like this : the best staff in the world (personal opinion ). I wish all the best to Guy's and St Thomas Hospital.

Been there for some ultrasound scans sometimes ago. It was on a Saturday as well. Service was quick and efficient but not with a smile. The staff member there was obviously not happy to have been working on a Saturday.

I recently had 4 wisdom teeth extracted on 14/11/22 at 8am, under general anesthetic. I would like to bring several things to your attention as I do not feel like I was well looked after. Firstly, I arrived on time, and was brought into a room with my escort. We waited more than 1 hour just to be spoken to, meanwhile, we were hearing every casual conversation being made by the operating staff. As you can imagine, I was highly anxious already as I never had general anesthetic. Hearing casual conversation with my door wide open was not professional. Moreover, we were seen by a recovery nurse, Shiraz(?) who said she would be looking after me for the duration of my stay/after my surgery. When I woke up, she was not the nurse looking after me. Another nurse ensured I was well and able to walk until my escort took me home. These were smaller issues I felt made it an uncomfortable experience, however, the main reason for my complaint is the following: I was finally seen by the operative surgeon, Anna Maciag, more than one hour after waiting in the room. The conversation was very minimal. The only real focus was relaying and pointing to the risks involved which I had signed at my pre-op. She did not go through what will I expect during the procedure and afterwards. She asked if I had any questions, which I relayed my concern about training dentists. She informed me she will be watching but cannot refuse a training dentist. I agreed, however I was never introduced to the training dentist who operated on half of my mouth. I found this very inappropriate. Additionally, as I entered the operative room, I was not greeted / spoken to by any of the surgeons. Nothing was relayed to me about what I can expect during and afterwards. After the IV was placed, I went off to sleep and woke up to lacerations and ulcers in various points within my mouth. Skin was hanging off my cheek, which I feel was careless trauma to the surrounding area of my mouth. I am now dealing with 5-6cm painful ulcers around my lips (not my teeth) which really upsets me. I was never told after the surgery what happened within the procedure, how well it went, how to take care of my mouth, and who was the trainee that operated on MY mouth. I was simply told I could leave once I could walk by another recovery nurse. Unbelieavable. I truly hope my comments will allow future growth for your day surgery. I felt like a guinea pig and not a human being who was the right to be well informed about their procedure/post operative care. I do not feel like this was something that was prioritised; I felt like a number/experiment for a trainee. I do understand this is a trainee NHS hospital, however the things I brought to your attention is no excuse for such a facility. Please please please do something about this as I felt like this was a terrible experience and I would hate for anyone else to feel the same way. Thank you.

I was referred to Guys dental by 111 upon request because the first dentist they sent me to did nothing but try to push me to see them as a private patient. I was extremely happy with how my dental abscess was dealt with at Guys (floor 23). My first appointment was in the afternoon and by the time we’d gotten the x-rays done and spoken to the dentist it was too late in the day to do the root canal I needed. But they booked me in for 9am the next morning and did a wonderful job. The students and supervisor/teacher/specialist?, were absolutely amazing. I was very nervous about the procedure and they calmed me down and explained everything. I didn’t feel a thing and they discussed after care and the next steps with me and I’m so happy to not be in pain anymore and to have gotten such great and speedy treatment. Everyone who dealt with me was incredibly kind and patient. I was put at ease and completely confident in the staff. I am incredibly grateful for the work they do.

Could you possibly make it any more difficult and convoluted to make a simple appointment with the Physiotherapy department? Call number for Physiotherapy department on website. First greeted by out of date recorded message about covid lockdown and no face to face services. Then, on hold for 20 mins. Then, automated message giving 3 options, one of which to book appointment. Then, wait for another 10 mins. When a human finally answers, they tell me I need to dial another number for the "referal management centre". Dial that number. They are closed as only work half days. Typical public sector stuff. Awful service. Massively wasteful of peoples time and no doubt tax payer money too!!

After going to my dentist on numerous occasions this year with wisdom teeth complications and not having them extracted when they really needed to be, I got an emergency 111 appointment at Guy’s Hospital. Hats off to every member of staff I encountered whilst there, from friendly reception staff, student dentists and my surgeon Ellie. You were all incredibly kind and put me at ease. I had two wisdom teeth extracted within a short amount of time (I was very lucky to have a cancellation appointment otherwise I may have had to wait around to have the surgery or to come back the next day). I was informed about what would happen every step of the way and the aftercare. Thank you. I would recommend St Guy’s Hospital Dental Department without hesitation and wish I’d of done this sooner. Bring on the recovery now!

I have just had knee surgery at Guys and I cannot fault the team looking after me. From admissions to the surgical team, the nurses on the ward, the physiotherapists and the porters. They were all amazing. So caring and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and they explained everything to me thoroughly. I attended my 6 week check up on Friday to see my consultant, Mr Alex Charalambous, he is so friendly and reassuring. I have to return tomorrow due to an infection and he has kindly slotted me in between other appointments. I feel very well looked after. 5 stars from me ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I have visited the dermatology outpatients every few months for the last 2 years. The doctor I see is very nice and understanding and always makes me feel at ease. All the receptionists are good as well and when I have called them before to rearrange an appointment they have been able to do so. It's right opposite London Bridge station so convenient if you take the train in. There are a few different cafés etc inside the hospital. To note : there is no A &E / casualty at Guys Hospital.

My daughter is in guy's at the moment and she has just had surgery to remove a kidney stone as big as the kidney. But she has to empty the drainage bag herself. It leaked all over her bed last night and the nurses told her to sleep in it ..she has to empty the bag herself and hand it to the nurses and all they do is put it down the sink .they have so much attitude it's not nice to ask them for help

I wish I could give 0 stars but unable too. The dental department never answer the calls. I was supposed to have a dental plan about taking out some teeth and getting braces but cant since they are consistent with follow up appointments. Customers come to you for professional help because we have the knowledge to help yet they can't be trusted and empathetic about that

I am posting on the 5th year anniversary to say thank you for the complex life saving operation performed by Dr Tim O’Brien and his amazing team 5 years ago on the 21.03.17, a date my husband & I will remember for always. There are not enough words to thank him but we do every day. My husband has subsequently been under the care of Dr Simon Chowdhury in clinical trials for the last 4 years, this team of highly professional clinical staff have been there for us throughout this time, without their remarkable dedication I’m not sure where my husband would be. They truly are a credit to their profession and we thank them all

In a sea of mediocrity, Guy's Hospital's Dental Department is arguably better than going private. Needed to go in for wisdom teeth extractions. The staff was incredibly understanding when I had to reschedule my appointment twice. Dr C Sproat's team were pleasant, friendly, and made me feel comfortable before and during the procedure, not once making me feel like they just needed to rush to the next patient (something I have experienced with several consultants). A big thanks to the dentist and not to forget to the assistant who played some fantastic 80's and 90's tunes that helped distract me! Quick tip: Don't try calling them. Emailing is a much better way to get a quick response.

I have no idea what their services are like, because I can simply not get in touch with them! I received a letter from their oesophageal lab claiming that they've tried to get in touch with me and that I need to get in touch with them within 14 days, in order to avoid cancellation. I tried emailing them, phoning them multiple times... The phone just cuts off, nobody responds the emails, nobody calls back. Absolutely shocking

After getting an emergency appointment at my local dentist they then said I would have to call 111 as I needed an extraction which they couldn’t perform at my surgery. I had been to see 2 different dentists last week and they both said the same thing, so I call 111 and the lady on the phone agreed and said my appointment was at 11:30 As I live in north London it took almost 2 hours to get there and a congestion charge, I was worried I would be a few minutes late so I started calling at 11:00am to let them know but no one was answering the phone. I come in at 11:33 and the man behind the desk is very nice and tells me that it’s absolutely fine that I’m a few minutes late! 12:30 hits and I notice a sign on the wall saying if you’re appointment is more than 30 mins behind then let a member of staff know. I tell him the situation and he explains as I was a 111 patient it’s first come first serve, which is fine! I wish I was told on the phone it wasn’t an actual appointment but you cannot complain for free healthcare. 1:30 comes along and i see a young man who takes a look at my mouth and says I need an X-ray, I go to the X-ray department for a 25 minute wait (the lady was so very nice) then go back to the waiting room for another 15-20 minutes. Dentist calls me in! I’m finally going to have it sorted! He tells me it’s just a chat. Explains that my tooth is beyond repair and needs to be extracted.. which I knew because that was the reason I called 111 and the whole point of being there. He also told me the other option was to just leave it although he said there was a chronic infection underneath which I can’t see leaving being good for anyones health. He explains sometimes there just aren’t enough people to perform extractions and I wouldn’t be able to have it done then but I could come in at 8:30am the next day but there is still no guarantee of being seen. I don’t know why I was sent to the other side of London to be told what I already knew. I assumed that when my ‘appointment’ was booked that people would be allocated for certain procedures and it wouldn’t just be a consultation. The dentist was very nice about it all and I know it isn’t his fault in the slightest, it’s just not the best system for people who are in need of emergency care to be told what they already know and to come back the following day but it may be the same thing again just with a longer wait. Unfortunately, with dental care it’s essentially private or nothing in the UK at the moment. I understand how underfunded our NHS is but you cannot expect people to travel across London to wait for hours to be told they should come back the next day and do it all over again.

The members of staff are cordial, efficient, kind, enjoyable to talk to and they laugh at my stories. 😁 But. the hospital needs more staff. The hospital is clearly under staffed. Because of this once you are in hospital there are long waiting times, for available beds. There is a lack of wheel chairs too. For these reasons I am giving 3 stars on this occasion.

I came here for my ENT appointment this morning. I’m so impressed with the level of professionalism, how quick the process was and how supportive the nurses were when we all hummed to, “Prince Ali” from Aladdin, successfully distracting me from the psychological discomfort of having my blood tests done, (which was fast and painless by the way). Very clean hospital with happy and accommodating staff, pleasant and positive experience today.

Such a brilliant COVID-19 vaccination experience and so fast and efficient. There was a definite buzz with everyone smiling. I even got a sticker! What’s the point in having such great medical treatment in a hospital where you can’t hire matching admin staff? Send you away from the hospital and tell you to call up for an appointment. No one answers the phone. Rather than calling patients to give appointments they send a letter. Think you can contact to rearrange? Absolutely not. Absolutely killing myself to get to an appointment I know I won’t be on time for because I couldn’t call and reschedule. Are you going to turn me away for being 10minutes late? Probably. You can’t expect patients to have absolutely no contact with the hospital. First thing I was asked when I had my initial assessment was “do you have any mental health issues” I said I have anxiety and depression. I’m literally shaking as I write this. Panicking. Crying on the tube. Trying to not have a full on anxiety attack. Had my first appointment at this hospital in April. It’s now July and I still need this scan and an appointment for surgery plans before I even have my surgery. Surgery for wisdom teeth that have been infected since March 2020. I am unemployed and have lots of experience in customer service. If you need someone who is able to man a desk and answer the phone please let me know because 90% of your staff can’t manage.

The layout of the hospital is average. There is only a small WH Smiths with M&S products inside. We visited for 12 days here and some staff are lovely and do their best, however the hospital layout and environment is awful. My sister who was aged under 40, died in this hospital last month and the Critical Care Unit was a depressing place for her end of life. The relatives room there is not appropriate as it is tiny and the vending machine fridge is very loud and annoying; preventing any sleep or rest. We spent six hours waiting in there overnight and it was the worst night of my life, hearing news of my sister dying whilst waiting in this small and noisy room.

From going to st Thomas’s hospital a couple of times with breathing issues Suddenly got letters going to Guy’s hospital, roughly every 3 weeks with dates and times with enough notice which is fair enough if you know your working schedule in advance. I work in a job that one doesn’t know there working schedule in advance and I’m probably not the only one Changing my medication Stopping prescriptions from my NHS Forcing patients paying to go to private Gp’s positives is the waiting is very quick. Once seen, quite quick

I've been waiting on the phone for over an hr to speak to someone in the maternity ward as I have a high risk pregnancy and the appointments given to me should be brought forward as with my first child at the homerton Is there no one working here? It worries me to have my second child here. I already feel neglected and I haven't even spoken to a midwife yet. As soon as I found out I was pregnant the Homerton were on it!!!!

I’ve had all sorts of experiences with NHS, ranging from very bad to excellent, and this hospital fits in the latter. I’ve dealt with two different departments over the past year, Dermatology and Women’s Health, and honestly the staff from both have been absolutely incredible. From reception, to nurses, to doctors and all in between. I can’t name any names because there’s too many and all of them have made dealing with awful health conditions better. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to both departments. Sending love.

I got really mixed feeling about this visit . My 6 years old son Tommy had today appointment for tooth removal under anaesthesia. His appointment was 7:45 . One week before our appointment I had a call from hospital with questions about Tommy and his autism , as he is autistic. And what they can do to make sure he will be comfortable. I explained to them the main key is that he can’t wait . If he will have to wait he will start harming himself and I can’t allowed it . So guess what . On the day of the visit we had to wait 2 h . It was absolutely nightmare. People don’t listen to parents at all . They wanted to give him something to fall asleep before anesthesia so they give me 2 options syrup or put this through his nose. I asked for second option . They didn’t listen . They give him syrup and he split out everything . Thank God I had clothes for change . They left him like this. Poor little one bite his hands till blood like everywhere . Finally lady came in after I had massive go on all hospital screaming on them and swearing like where is the point of calling me one week before his appointment if nothing is done , and who is gonna take responsibility for his hands bite till blood for my broken phone and my friend broken pushchair as he get such a massive meltdown . They give him this stuff through his nose and he fall asleep his appointment was for 7:45 we was in hospital :7:15 they haven’t seen him till 9 . I feel so so bad for him . He wanted drink so badly and he couldn’t he was hungry and I couldn’t give him any food . Just broke my heart. He went to surgery 9:50. I’m giving 2 stars cos only thing what save it,it was 3 ladies . 2 nurses and lady which was responsible to put Tommy under anaesthesia. And gentlemen from reception. Part of this I am extremely disappointed as my son definitely will be traumatised till the end of his life . I believe having autism and be non verbal is enough for him . He don’t need to be traumatised, and be afraid of hospitals .

On a long awaited trip to London, my wife tripped and hit her head. We were directed there as the closest hospital and signed into the emergency room within minutes and saw the doctor within five minutes. The admitting nurse, Mr.Patient, was pleasant and extremely efficient. The doctor had her checked and was treating within five minutes. I have never witnessed such a rapid and pleasant experience in an emergency room in my six-plus decades. They have our deepest thanks and admiration.

I went here to get my vaccine and was really impressed at how smoothly things were running. In and out in 20mins. It is mostly automated and there was hardly any queue. Ladies who gave the vaccine were super friendly and helped to calm me. As for the hospital itself, its situated right next to London Bridge Station both underground and mainline and has some beautiful old buildings.

I saw a senior consultant dermatologist who has many years of experience, for a condition I've had for over 10 years. I won't name him as that's probably a bit below the belt. He told me, literally in a few seconds, that my condition had cleared up. He didn't do any checks to know this, he just very visibly wanted me out the door as quickly as possible. I was sceptical with what he'd said so I went private and got a second opinion.. I was told the condition was still very much there and it was indeed "extensive". The consultant did checks to know this, checks that included the right equipment. I suppose when you're getting an NHS salary and you're clearly not bothered to genuinely help people, you will be very quick to say anything that gets the patient out the door, even if they've travelled for over an hour to see you. I'm so glad I got a second opinion and didn't trust what was initially said to me. So disappointing, considering how long I've had this for, but this is often the way with a lot of clinicians in the NHS. I imagine the consultant would have been a lot more thorough and diligent had this been a private appointment... ££££££

Absolutely useless hostptial, told my mum she needs an urgent operation and can't leave her bed but now.wont do it for at least 10 days which means longer because we all know the NHS is incapable of working weekends even though it has all the gear there 🤦 after keeping her waiting at our local hostptial for over a month. This is absolute madness they should be absolutely ashamed of themselves no wonder there isn't anyone that has any faith in them

I was really worried about social distancing here but it was all ok even though it was really busy. Got here and seated ready for my appointment.I had to wait for so long but once I was seen all was well. They were very good with what was done and very helpful with advice. The location is great and very easy to find as I caught the tube here first thing in the morning and used Google maps for the navigation side of things.

Just want to say thanks to Vish and Gloria in the emergency dental department (23rd floor). They are really both angels and a shining example of how fantastic our NHS is! I was referred by 111 today after having intense pain from a wisdom tooth for several days. I was very nervous about having the tooth removed but they put me at ease and the procedure went perfectly. In fact it was done so well and neatly that there was no bleeding at all and I have not needed any painkillers at all for the rest of the day. Can't praise them highly enough, thank you!

For 3 years I've been dealing with a mild, chronic case of pericoronitis. After switching dentists I was referred to Guy's Hospital. The referral process took 3 months. Once I got my first visit, I got a CBCT scan and a second appointment all within 3 weeks. They discussed a lot of different options for me, which ones would be best, and why. Decided to get all 4 wisdom teeth removed under general anesthetic, and waited an additional 3 months for the surgery appointment. So in total, around 6 months from referral date to surgery. My appointment for surgery was at 15:00, but didn't reach the theatre until 18:15. The surgery itself went super smooth. I felt great after, and recovered at home on a liquid diet for a week, rinses, and alternating between ibuprofen and paracetamol. For reference, my teeth weren't that complicated and I have a high tolerance for pain The staff was absolutely wonderful. They gave my partner all the information needed for the recovery period, all the pain medication, and would have been available in case any side effects emerged. They also warmed me up with a tube under my blanket as soon as I woke up from the anesthesia, which felt great. I can't fault my experience at this hospital in any way. Waiting 3 hours past my appointment time was tough without food or water, and it's something I wasn't told or prepared for, but I know how busy and overworked hospitals are here, plus I was given IV fluids so I felt fantastic after the procedure. And sure, I waited 6 months from referral day, but I am very thankful I could get this done for free under our health care system. Were my case more serious, I think my waiting time would have been less. But either way, I'm super satisfied with my experience at the Dental department of Guy's hospital!

During flu season, I had the privilege of being treated at Guy's Hospital in London, and my experience was truly exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was met with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The reception staff were efficient and empathetic, making the check-in process seamless. The medical team at Guy's Hospital demonstrated a high level of skill and knowledge. They listened attentively to my symptoms, conducted a thorough examination, and explained the diagnosis and treatment options in a compassionate manner. Their ability to communicate effectively and involve me in the decision-making process was greatly appreciated.

I had an appointment for oral surgery at Guys dental department. I was really nervous and anxious leading up to my appointment but I must say the team are incredible!! Every single person i came into contact with the nurses, the surgeon, the anthestist and everyone else in the room that had prepped me and took care of me were so exceptionally friendly and they put me at ease. I know they do these procedures often but i wasnt made to feel just a number which sadly can be the case recently with some NHS and private healthcare teams. (I understand the NHS is under mountains of pressure) but whatever the team here are doing please share your secret with others❤️ Being someone who hates any dental work done I have to say this was by far the best experience I have had in all my life. I have been happy all day and in great spirits despite having 3 teeth removed, some pain and swollen mouth. Who can I speak to in order to share my experience higher up in Guys Dental as I do think they need to hear it more often. Thank you again!

I was hospitalized because of inflammation in my nose. In fact, I had a bad prejudice against healthcare in the UK. Because it is free, I thought the medical service would not be good. But the service I experienced at Guy's hospital was really great. All the doctors and nurses were very kind to me and very focused on my health. Everyone put my comfort and treatment first, and even all the staff I met while looking for directions in the hospital were kind It is best not to get sick, but if I have to go to the hospital, I will visit Guy's hospital again. Once again, I would like to thank the doctors and nurses for their kind and good treatment and service

At times I felt rushed & had a little difficulty simulating what was happening to my mind and body. However the staff always took the time to explain in a kind & respectful manner. Please pay these people appropriately as it would be disrespectful to do anything else given the necessity for their service & passion shown in undertaking it.

Well done. Made my day from sad till super happy. I'll update their name when I found the note I took. Update: the respiratory doctor is not that ok, didn't and won't go back again for him.

I had consultation and surgery some 2 years ago on my spine there. Was admitted for 4 days. The staff were very attentive, and knowledgeable and I would have no problems being sent back there, and it would be my first choice. Was a very positive experience. The only slightly negative comment is that in a ward patients make noises. Of the opinion no one slept, would advise you get comfortable ear muffs or noise cancelling headphones to drown the sound out

Don't expect to be in and out of the urgent cDeentre without spending your entire day in the waiting room.. 5+ hours waiting even though each moment with a doctor was probably 3minutes each.. and make them double & triple check they wrote your phone number correctly if they tell you to go and they'll call you later.

Management are very welcoming, kind and friendly and staff are very professional, helpful and caring. There is a car park available which is always great and signage around the hospital sites are very straight forward and easy to follow.

Very disappointed. I was referred here for an ultrasound and guided fine needle aspiration. The scan itself was carried out fine, but when it came to aspiration, I was told that there was 'nothing to aspirate' - quite clearly there was as that was the reason for my referral. They still 'attempted' it with no luck, once I reached home and saw where the needle was inserted, it was no where near the area that was problematic. The consultant didn't even look or pay attention to the area even after I had pointed the location out several times. Upon leaving, I asked what else I could and what my next steps could be, I was told, 'there's nothing you can do, just wait and see'. Absolutely awful, after reaching home, I found another route to aspirate, and believe me, there was plenty to aspirate.

I had to have a tooth extraction at the dental surgery. I am petrified of going to the dentist but felt at ease with the dentist who saw me, Dr Harshini Pindolia. She was amazingly calm and helped me to feel relaxed and had a pain free extraction and she talked me through all the after care thoroughly to ensure there was no infection. Amazing service and I feel much more confident with attending the dentist now.

A large and busy NHS teaching hospital with good transport options, as it is next to London Bridge Station. Parking is a nightmare, even for Blue Badge holders, so if possible, you should use public transport. The drop-off point for the hospital in on Great Maze Pond, where you will find disabled parking spaces for patients with appointments on the day only. See Google Maps Street View for details! There is an NCP multistorey carpark in Kipling Street, which isn't cheap. The ground floor has all the disabled parking spaces. Remember, you must display your blue badge whilst using them!

I had the most incredible experience today at 8:30 am when I went in to have my upper 5 and 6 teeth removed. From the moment I arrived, everything was seamless – quick consultations, thorough checks, efficient x-rays, and treatment. I was first seen by a final year student, followed by a surgeon, and finally operated on by a beautiful dentist who continually reassured me throughout the extraction. Their care and kindness were beyond words. Please extend my deepest gratitude to the entire staff for their exceptional service and genuine concern. They truly made a potentially daunting experience feel comforting and reassuring. Vijay Gajapathi

It is an NHS hospital with decent facilities. I was attended to professionally eventually, and I am thankful. A walk-in to the urgent care unit on a Sunday afternoon resulted in a wait for 2 hours (12:30-14:30) before I was seen for a 5-min check up. I have no way of knowing whether or not that is typical or representative. Unfortunately, the staff are not the most friendly—no surprises there: it is the rare public facility which can consistently enforce high standards of “customer care.” My 3 stars are not a harsh response to the consistent unfriendliness from various staff members during my visit: they’re deserved.

X-ray department CT scan is shambolic! Given the sharp rise in COVID cases you would think they will be more COVID conscious. Small waiting area, crowded, no ventilation. The Staff in charge (head photographer & nurses) are abusive, you will hear them shouting at patients in the corridors and inside the x-ray rooms. Waiting times are far too long. I encourage you to write to PALS although not much will happen or change, but in spirit of accountability this should be documented.

Disorganised. Was not told about an appointment until the day after! What is the point of that?! Lied to that a message was sent out but had no communication what so ever, which resulted in being put back on the waiting list when it was supposed to be an urgent referral. Needs a better system to book/send out appointments and maybe a reminder too.

A hospital review may appear to be strange and somewhat at odds with a place that one harbours likes or dislikes, or indeed a place that one would recommend for a visit! Saying this and taking into consideration that a hospital is not a place to rush to for a good time, but l felt that after a recent visit to Guys that l had to express my admiration and gratitude to the people that work there. It is by all accounts the highest hospital building in Europe and can be a bit overwhelming when first encountered. High speed lifts that take you to the top floors in seconds, although there can be a bit of a wait to board one, but we'll worth the time as the views are just so spectacular with large windows that allow a full view of the changing architectural shape of London. This in itself will ease the most apprehensive and nervous of patients! When things appear to be so gloomy with the present NHS it is indeed up lifting to witness a hospital that for the most part works for everyone consirned. A 5 star London landmark.

I would like to say a big thank you to Dr Lukasz Polanski who did my surgery. our impression when we 1st met him was hes a good doctor, the way he spent time explaining everything. He has made my experience so easy during the covid19.ie his communication skills are the best even when hes very busy. You can ask him anything in relation to your health and hes very easy to talk to. All the appointments I had with him, I have never waited not even for 5 minutes. He deserves a 5 star 🌟 as he is the only Dr I have ever trusted with my life. Previously I had very bad experience with other gynecologist due to lots of pain I experienced with them. I gave a 4 star because of the 1st doctor I met in 2018 i think. she was a female doctor with no any empathy towards her patients. the way she talked to me I even had to cry as it was way too harsh.

25/01/21. Took a disabled friend for her covid 19 vaccination at Guys center 2. It would have been easy if there had been direction signs at the hospital entrances. It took over twenty minutes to even find someone who knew where the covid 19 vaccination centres were. Please put some direction signs up. M P-F.

The ENT dept at Gys are amazing . It's a one stop shop for balance and hearing tests as well as consultation. Dr Caroline Ainsworth is wonderful- despite being quite young she is very knowledgeable and so interested in in you . I cannot praise the enough! I just has an OPD appmt via video and it was great . On new meds.

I had an appointment here today at the ETD department. The receptionist was friendly. The doctor I saw was very fast and efficient! The nurse assistants were very friendly and directed me to the rooms very well by using hand gestures. :) He also was very informative with the advice he gave. The hospital was very clean and had hand sanitizer stations as patients enter. I have always liked that Guy's Hospital gives directions and informs patients where each wing you need to go. I suppose this is all hospitals in general but I find this most helpful! For my appointment today I did not even wait long as within a matter of minutes of arriving I was seen almost immediately! Great! :D Thank you team at the ETD department! :)

For the last time I tell you, I did not receive a letter about the hospital’s appointment, and I do not know what the name of the hospital is, or on which floor, or anything, I do not have any information. deterioration to death. You only care about the rich, the powerful, and your friends, but I, the poor man, leave him to die.!!! I will file a complaint with the Minister of Health against the management of this hospital and its officials. Your administration is a failed administration that does not care about the lives and diseases of patients. I will file a complaint against you to the Minister of Health,

First NHS Rheumatology appointment, had waited months for appointment & in a lot of pain with a lot at stake. Unfortunately there was a sulky med student in the consultation. He made it clear he didn't want to be there, and there was a difficult atmosphere between him and the doctor. In front of me, doctor asked the student questions and the student either couldn't or wouldn't respond, so we all sat there in lengthy awkward silences. I refused the physical exam as I was already in pain and couldn't bear to be that vulnerable in that kind of unpleasant atmosphere. It was awful. In hindsight ,maybe I could have asked for the student to leave the room. I don't know. I didn't feel safe or strong enough to ask. My local hospital is a teaching hospital and you can't decline student presence, maybe it's different at Guys. I wished I'd been asked whether I was okay with the sulky student being present, or been offered the opportunity to say "I'm really not comfortable with this".

The most unhelpful receptionist I have ever come across! No smile, just stares. Ridiculous as you would expect someone who meets with the public to at least greet people.

Dr Srividhya sankaran is very rude . My mother went with my wife for her ultrasound. My mother asked the Dr if she can speak in hindi but Dr said “She (wife) can understand in English and that’s fine enough” . My mother wanted to see the baby in the ultrasound but after this response, she felt intimidated to ask any question.

I had previously written a bad review based on my misunderstanding of communication between the ENT department and myself. However, this issue was rectified. It was my understanding that my oral surgery appointment had been moved to a month later without anybody speaking to me. It turns out that the second message with an appointment time in place was the follow-up appointment to the oral surgery. All-in-all from start to finish, it was a very efficient service. I do still think that more information should have been included in the second text message. I genuinely thought that they had randomly assigned me a different appointment on another day and cancelled my first appointment. When I called... I was on hold for 1 hour and 8 minutes as the first person in the queue which highlights an important issue. If people do need to speak to somebody, its impossible to get through. The reason this is an issue is because I needed to confirm my appointment and check what had happened. I emailed and had a phone response within 48 hours of my email. I have read all of the good reviews about the Oral department on the 23rd floor and I can now confirm that I too had a very good experience. Thankyou very much to everybody at both the ENT service and the Oral surgery unit.

Based on a family member being admitted and her care. Appointment letters are last minute or after the appointment! The staff are brilliant but over worked and under staffed. Treatment and care are great but the hospital needs more staff.

Avoid their Ear doctor. He doesn't use anything to soften the wax prior to cleaning the ear. Every other cleaning I have had before, they used some sort of oil prior to using the suction machine, or they did the cleaning using water entirely. I expressed my discomfort a few times during the procedure until I screamed in pain at the end, and that was only when he stopped. I've been in excruciating pain since the cleaning and I've lost part of my hearing.

Can't say I like it here as its a cancer center so it's never 'nice' to be at a hospital getting bad news! However, it's just like many hospitals big, ignorant n filled with people who need a GCSE in common sense! You book in down stairs and get pointed in the right direction, only one direction you can go so it's pretty self explanatory! You get upstairs to ur clinic appointment and wait, sometimes for hours! No one really tells u anything until eventually when u have lost the will to live ur Dr finally calls u in and u realise ur sitting in front of doors 1-5 n ur Dr is in room 17! If ur lucky you see the same Dr if not you see some random face who hasn't really read ur file n just gives u a run of the mill answer to everything n then asks for things like scans n bloods that u could have done in the hours u were waiting for him! They like to think they are "caring about cancer" doesn't apply if ur not the patient tho! Spouse/carer normally gets ignored or talked past, around or through! Personally I hate it! But my husband the cancer patient says it's OK, until yesterday when he went in for an app they cancelled it without telling him! N now he hates it! Minimal communication between departments, maximum lack of any common sense in most areas, be prepared to wish u had opted for a phone consultation instead of a face to face! Mind you they have been 2+ hours late to so maybe not a good example! All in all terrible! But ah it's the NHS gota be glad it's still going....just!

It feels strange leaving a review of a hospital, but I have always found the staff here incredibly kind and helpful. As with many hospitals, the directions and wards can be a bit confusing, but staff have been very helpful with helping me find my way!

I have just returned home from 3 days at St Thomas, my surgery got cancelled on Thursday at 4.30pm, the nurses and surgeons were amazing not only put me on the list for the following morning, they arranged accommodation for the night to save me coming back in the morning. The view was Westminster bridge and BIG BEN, then I went to the main hospital for surgery excellent theatre staff, surgeon and nurses in recovery. Then stayed on Somerset Ward again can’t fault the staff at all, very friendly, caring, totally amazing and again a beautiful view over the river and London eye. Big big thank you especially Sophie who tried her hardest to please everyone. Can’t thank you all enough best hospital stay I’ve had. If I could give 10 stars ⭐️ I would

Great hospital and friendly staff, especially for Dorcas ward who are great! Only negatives are that the food is terrible and that Patient Transportation Service are as useful as a chocolate teapot. They failed to give me transport back home despite myself having an operation a few days ago. Luckily, a staff nurse booked a private taxi for me.

I went to Guy's Hospital Urgent Care for a problem of chest pain. It was a Friday early afternoon; it wasn’t too busy, I was seen and had a few medical tests all in a matter of less than three hours. Then, since they didn’t want to leave anything unchecked, they referred me to St Thomas’s A&E for further tests. Reception and medical staff were very professional and extremely kind; I was grateful for being able to access this facility. Thank you!

I can’t thank the Orthopaedic staff enough for the wonderful care that I received yesterday at Guy’s - under the care of Mr J Davidson. Each & every member of staff were caring, kind, professional & so wonderful, that it really helped to lesson the stress that I was feeling. Special thanks to the wonderful nurses that I met yesterday! From a very grateful Margaret Brennan

Full of lovely staff eager to make you feel important. The government should consider elevating their wages. They work very hard. Never see any member of staff wasting time or wondering about. I give this hospital 10 out of 10. Love it and love the people ru ning this place. Any no words to describe how well and secured I feel here.

I'm an orthodontic patient here, I've missed many appointments, but my dentist Mays keeps on rescheduling, i dont know why she's given me so many chances but I'm most grateful. And everytime I visit she makes me feel most comfortable, I'm just reflecting on my time at the hospital and thought I'd share it here. A 10/10 experience, athough I fear the reproach(well deserved) when I see her again as I have missed yet another appointment.... It's my own fault though... err back to the point. Thank you very much to the orthodontic practice here and especially Mays, I am very grateful.

Trying to speak to someone in the ENT department is impossible, they never answer their phone. I've held on for 59 minutes, several times, Also they do not reply to emails. There is no secretary now to contact. I've been trying for a month to get through. It's my life that they are messing with. It's terrible. Consultant brilliant.
