Not bad pub located near Waterloo Station. Came here on a Sunday to watch the football. Was nice enough but would not write home about the service, person behind the bar could not care less about a single patron there or anything for that matter. Alright drinks on offer, cocktails on tap and regular pints of beer and cider you expect. They ran out of glasses and decided to serve one of the cocktails in a small wine glass with pure foam too... Not great. What kept it alive was the atmosphere inside, probably just because of the football to be honest. Toilets were beyond disgusting. Follow me on Google Maps for more reviews

A place to avoid if you want to watch sport. We thought it was a good place near waterloo to catch a champions league game which would be a bit quieter than other places. They waited until we had ordered a big round and then changed which game they were going to show 2 minutes before kick off. The staff weren't even apologetic - it honestly felt like they told us they were going to show the game we wanted so we'd buy drinks. Not the sort of service I would expect. We won't be coming back.

very bad attention. I came on Monday June 6 (13.50pm) and the waitress was talking on the cell phone at all times while we waited to be served. then I asked her please if she could put my cell phone on charge and her answer was "No because I am charging my cell phone" people like that should not be able to work

Five stars for the food , the grilled cheese sandwiches are phenomenal. Recommend the chicken and the mushroom ones as they paired greatly with one another, the chef there, Chiraz is a top guy and deserves some appreciation

After a day out with the kids, we were looking for a quiet spot to sit down and enjoy some pub grub. We were very happy to find a quiet pub to set down in however the menu didn’t match their online description and it was cheese toasted, soups and sides. I wasn’t totally enthused at first but I have to say, what we ate was really really tasty! We had the tomato soup and a French onion. They were both a hit. We had spicy Smokey cheese toasties, a brisket toastie and some of their fried potato - again, delicious. The downside of my review was the service, as it was non-existent. The bar lady wasn’t attentive at all, chatting away and sitting on the sofa on her phone. We had our dinner boards in front of us for 2 hours and they weren’t cleared up. There was an issue in the men’s room (that was spotless when we arrived). It looked as though someone had vomited on the floor or urinated. I told the bar man immediately and he said “oh yeah I know, it flooded. Someone left the tap on. I am not a plumber” and walked off. Funnily enough, there was a mop just sitting there next to the sofa which would have certainly helped the situation! Nice pub, lots of potential. Not so good service.

The pub is in a sweet location, lovely street, close to Waterloo station, and it’s actually quite nice. We ordered some grilled sandwiches and soups that were good. We also enjoyed the old school hip hop and r&b playlist. The service was very bad though. There were two members of staff on the floor that seemed completely careless. After we finished our food nobody cleared the table for the three hours we were there, and by the time we left there was a pile of plates and glasses on the table. One of the member’s of the staff was just sitting looking at her phone non-stop, very rude.

This is a lovely pub with a great choice of drinks and food and a really friendly atmosphere. I left my ID behind which the lovely barmaid Naomi managed to find me on social media to let me know and Laura, the manager, kindly posted it to me. This is above and beyond anything I would've expected and I'm so grateful to them. Definitely worth a visit!

Friendly place, not to crowed on a Thurs night. Bit noisy but then I'm getting old! Good stilton and pear toastie. Decent prices. More stylish on the inside than it looks from outside

We stumbled upon this pub after visiting the London Eye and we were so very impressed. We started with a nice pint of Guinness and then ate the OG grilled cheese, chips, spicey mac 'n cheese and cole slaw. Everything we ate was just amazing. Definitely recommend checking out this great pub!

Jackie Dwane are absolute angels they came in as once a year drinkers, paid by card and didn't offer a tip well.. in here we were treated like absolute royalty. Besides that myself and my partner came in and he rested here whilst I worked. Jackie let him charge his phone and regenerate whulstmonly buying a pint. Jackie is the reason we came as a team. This pub is fabulous and always has a welcoming atmosphere and a fantastic attitude from that staff. It almost feels like it's not in London. This place is beautiful the people are beautiful and so is the service. I can't recommend more

This fine London establishment gets our 5 stars. Fantastic food, superb service. Thanks to Laura who took such great care of us. She is number 1! Looked after us, even when we arrived too early for food. Give that lady a pay rise!!

A superb boozer in Waterloo. Found it this week when away with work, they have a great lager selection and the Guinness was immense. Will be back.

🚇 Lambeth North 🍺 £5.90 Amstel ❤️ A contemporary Waterloo boozer. . The Camel & Artichoke is situated mid terrace on Lower Marsh around the back of Waterloo station. The nearest Tube is Lambeth North, but I would recommend to travel to Waterloo Station and walk through atmospheric Leake Street tunnel to see some of London’s finest graffiti. . This pub was built in 1864 and started life as The Artichoke. The Camel was added to the pubs name in 2007 but for what reason I don’t know. . Although the pubs facade is beautifully Victorian the interior is modern with a slight industrial feel. The pub has a wood floor throughout, grey panelled and wallpapered walls and the servery is on the left hand side. There are a few screens dotted around the walls which show live sport on match days. At the rear of the pub is a heated beer garden with large circular benches. . The beer line up was all keg with a few craft options and Guinness. I ordered an Amstel, my pint was great and cost under six quid. This pub offers loads of drinks promos including 50p off pints on a Wednesday, hump day anyone? . The atmosphere was quiet on this Saturday afternoon with only myself and a few others in attendance. The soundtrack was R&B and the kings coronation was on mute on the TV. I was served by a nice member of staff, even though is was quiet she was all smiles. . I need to return the @camelandartichoke on another day as I feel this place comes to life in the evenings. If anyone on here has visited it would be great to hear about it. . ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 06/05/23

Noisy pub. Great for football and atmosphere bur music is too loud had to leave as we couldn't hear ourselves speak to each other. Shame

Popped in to watch the darts. Might be not to everyone's taste but 3 TV's in the bar on a very quiet midweek night, I didn't think it was too much to ask. I asked politely if the barmaid would mind putting the darts on just one of the TV's, I was told, very bluntly, no..... That's hospitality for you.

This was a good little bar, we just stopped in for one beer on our way to another attraction. The service was prompt and good. We unfortunately did not get to try the food here but maybe next time !!

Great spot for meeting people - such as your friends. Handy outdoor seating means you are never too hot in those balmy November evenings.

I recently visited this pub with a friend for a brief drink. The staff, in particular a young black man, was very friendly and accommodating. When next in the area, I plan to return again without doubt.

Amazing staff who were friendly and helpful. Overall, a lovely atmosphere inside and the beer garden is really nice as well. I only had a bottle of white wine with a friend, but it was served well chilled in a bucket and with clean glasses. For the wonderful staff alone, I would return.

Had a really nice visit here. Lovely place for a drink and place to eat. We left behind a bag by mistake and made contact to the staff when we were on the train Laura was amazing for communication and posted the bag to use. Would definitely make a visit again.

Would have liked to have given 5 stars, host great, food however lets it down. Ordered 2 lamb burgers, one came with what I would describe as burger scraps in a bap.Host was apologetic and offered us a drink on the house, however had a train to catch from Waterloo station. Would go again for a drink, but at this moment in time I would avoid the food offering (it seems that it is a separate business to the pub)

Lovely little pub. Beer garden at the back is lovely on a warm day. I recommend their chicken burger (they do have a vegetarian and vegan option available).

Whole bar managed by one lady so a little slow but service was good. Took us some time to get food but the veggie burger worth the wait and the best around! Chilled out individuals would love :)

The C&A has very much become the local since moving to London. Jackie is a legend, the other Staff are all delightful, the inside is warm and cosy, back garden is roomy — and now heated! — and the tunes are stellar. They sorted out a staff evening for us at very short notice recently which was greatly appreciated (and a great night). Big love to all involved!
