This place is simply amazing! At the edge of absurd, dreeping with interesting items, history, grotesque and sarcasm towards pop culture. Highly recommended for open minded people with sense of humor.

Great place to try a variety of absinthe and various cocktails. Quirky museum in the basement (cabinet de curiosités).

Came here on a quiet Sunday afternoon after seeing the sign for the absinthe slushy. Nice and friendly staff with extremely unique interior (maybe not everyone's taste but very unique) I'm not a huge absinthe fan but the slushy was very good, would have preferred it a bit larger but overall it was nice. Would visit again in the evening for sure. If you liked my review feel free to give it a 👍 and follow me on Google Maps for more reviews!

This is an amazing place, there is a wide range of different absinthes like I've never seen before. There is lot of curiosities inside, it's impressive. However the staff is not friendly and there is no room enough for all the customers. Anyway it is a beautiful place, it worth. I recommend to visit de museum below.

Pretty cool place. The cocktails are all £9.5. Ordered the tropical one and it was great! There is a collection/museum you can paid to get in

Really surprised with the quality of their cocktails. They were very nice inside and the interior is very fun. Don’t let the Absonth cocktails scare you, they’re really well made. Had a great time there albeit too short. I’ll be back!

Lovely experience. Tenders are quite experienced and make wonderful suggestions. We tried the brand new menu, try the Sting of Love

Loved the atmosphere in here. Low lighting, good music and amazing cocktails. Lots of great stuff on the walls to look at too. Staff were really friendly.

Brilliant place for an alternative drinking session. Menu packed full of Absinthe and Absinthe based cocktails. Staff were knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Quickly became somewhere we will visit more often.

This quirky London museum and bar offers unusual spirits and extraordinary elixirs on one floor and a small but mighty museum filled with surreal artefacts on another 🔮 Though it's small, you could easily spend a good few hours discovering all that this basement museum has to offer, plus you'll also find various events running such as séances, exhibitions and more. It's perfect for a quirky date idea! 💵 £10 or £6 concession 🚻 Toilets 🍴Food & drink available to purchase 🚗 Parking nearby

A lot of interesting trinkets all around, main commonality between them: being able to garner shock from the onlookers. All cocktails are with absinthe. Mine was a bit disappointing in taste. My friend ordered Black Sabbath cocktail and though it looked cool it reminded of a sugary syrup most. I came in with a coffee I was still finishing, staff asked me to finish it outside despite them not selling coffee 🤷🏻‍♀️

Nice remarkable drinks even if a bit pricy (but I guess this is totally normal in London). Staff is outstanding friendly!

If you are of the curious of mind then this place will definitely tickle your pickle. The drinks menu does contain a lot made with absinthe however if you like the aniseed flavour it won't be a problem. Only issue is its a bit out of the way from central London so be prepared to underground / overground (wombling free) to get there.

Very unique place to come and have a drink. The decor in this place is outstanding and very funky. Loads of different art especially in the restroom. In addition there’s only one unisex toilet. The only con is its a bit overpriced, my mock-tail costs more than a canned beer. In general to have great pictures and experience the vibe of this place its great but not for too many drinks.

The second time I have been there and it’s an experience for sure. I am just not a fan of the way I felt the next day after only having had 2 x cocktails. I’d highly recommend this place if you are looking for a different experience and are bored of the usual cocktail bar experience. For sure check out the museum. Book ahead of time as it can be tricky to get a table especially if you are part of a larger group.

This was a great place with good cocktails (around 11 pound) with a lot of weird stuff to look at. But the best thing is the small museum below the bar with really weird things to look at. Kind staff and good atmosphere.

Quirky place with a wonderful cocktail inventions. Was nice to chance upon this place and try their cocktails. They also do fountains and other things with a variety of absinthe. We didn’t go into their museum downstairs which includes a special cocktail with the ticket, but some people looked like they enjoyed their visit. Definitely would visit again and try other bit when in that part of town again.

Some of the best cocktails I've ever tried. Try the little hard, big easy. Quirky and macabre feeling inside. Good jazzy music.

This is an hidden gem! If you want to try an original absinthe, you come to the best place in London! The venue is extravagant! You’d be delighted by this place! The choice of absinthe is quite big. Best to ask the waiter to guide you which best is for you! Even if this place is not in a central zone. I’d highly recommend to give it a try! Well done guys! Looking forward to come back here and have another experience with you!

Very strange museum. Not for small children. Age 12 at least. There is some strange animals and birds that no longer exists. Some magical things

Very colourful and character with mood lighting and exhibits. Service could be a bit slow at times, but the greeting and service was very good. Menus were undecipherable in the main, but they were happy to serve up a drink that wasn't on the menu.

We had some absynthe Cocktails and visted the museum. As in the description, it has a pataphysical theme and is different from other bars. There are a lot of stuffed animals and other museum things.

  • 5/5 Jack K. 1 year ago on Google
You would find it a very difficult challenge to walk into a bar anywhere else and be presented not just with a quality absinthe option, but an absinthe menu larger than most bars' wine lists. Served as an option via traditional absinthe fountain to louche through the sugar and spoon correctly. Perfect ambience, within a veritable menagerie of taxidermy and preserved animal skeletons. The seat by the tropical fish tank is the best seat in the house.

Really excellent! Conservation of the natural history specimens could be a bit better mas it surely is one of the most interesting places in London!

This Museum&Bar was definitely breathtaking and great place for everyone who would like to drink tasty cocktails or kind of fun. The Museum is so horroristic and bizzare:))) I've never seen similar place during my life and travels where meet weird things and abstract arts together. I was impressed and good memory for me. I highly recommend those funs who are like horrors and want to see frenetic photos, arts or animals as well.

My favourite bar in London! Great cocktails at good prices, especially if you like Absinthe. Caters to all tastes, especially weird ones. Full of curious things, something for everyone (maybe not the weak of heart!) Friendly staff also, they work hard and are super helpful!

Great atmosphere. Lovely staff - even though I booked for the wrong night. Super quirky decor. Whether you love absinthe or have never tried it, I definitely add this one to your list.

Just visited for a drink and it was a great experience; expect dark rooms and window displays with curiosities sourounding you. My martini coctail with absinthe was a great choice

Absinthe is my favourite alcoholic drink so obviously I had to take in this place. Note: it's not a traditional absinthe bar as such, in that it does not have a selection of various absinthe. All the absinthe choices are the same brand, distilled nearby and the only UK-made absinthe, called Devil's Botany. The Absinthe Parlour shares the building and space with the Last Tuesday Society and Viktor Wynd Museum of Curiosities so it has a dark ambience with occultish flair. Perfect thematic vibes for absinthe. If I had more time, I would have loved to sit and try the absinthe fountain in order to truly assess the absinthe properly. Instead, I opted for an absinthe cocktail. They have a huge menu of absinthe-based drinks which is heaven. I'd be lying if I didn't say I was a little skeptical. I've had so-called absinthe cocktails and almost 100% of them have been too light on the absinthe and disappointing. Not the case here. I went with the absinthe negroni riff and was pleasantly surprised. There's no hiding the strong presence of absinthe. It showcases it, but not in an imbalanced way where it overpowers the rest of the ingredients. Superbly done. When I tasted that, I immediately wished I wasn't on a schedule and could have enjoyed other options too. To say this cocktail bar fills a niche is an understatement. It is fully and wholly about that singular niche. You come here for absinthe. You have to love absinthe, or be genuinely open-minded and curious about it to appreciate what this bar is doing. The atmosphere is pretty chill. The art and displays are interesting, the fish tank is wonderful to stare at while casually enjoying a drink. It's a small space so if there's a loud group, it may be a bit annoying, but luckily there was only one other person in the bar with me. It was relaxed and quiet. Loved it for drinking alone and just thinking about life and things. Service was fine. Not overly friendly, but helpful enough and attentive enough. They sort of just let you do your thing without getting in your face, and I like that. I will definitely come back again.

The bar is one of the must be done experiences in London. We had such a fun time there, the drinks are extremely curated and the staff is so nice and welcoming very helpful if you need suggestions or ideas. The museum underneath is a must! The crazy vibes and exciting collection is really one of the most interesting places I have been in London! If you are into creepy/ weird funky stuff this is a great place for a date!

Go there when you're already a bit drunk and escape into a mysterious place, somewhere between Jules Verne and Charles Bukowski, especially after trying some of the absinthe. If you ask kindly the waiter will bring you a razor blade, so you can cut off your ear in case you feel like it.

Magnificent place filled with intriguing curiosities! Plus, customer service was excellent! Note that there is a bar in the same venue so you can order a drink with you when you go downstairs and get yourself with the wonders of the exhibition. Truly recommend this place!

Amazing cocktails in a pretty unusual venue, with super friendly staff. Worth booking at weekends. Hard to describe the museum downstairs, definitely worth a visit, but it's the drinks I'll be back for.

  • 4/5 Elzabi R. 6 years ago on Google
Four stars only because the cocktails aren’t outstanding or especially tempting. Bizarre and eclectic collection of curios, largely falling into categories of ethnography, taxidermy, art, and erotica. Plus occasional gross-out odds and ends like false teeth and a jar of Russell Crowe’s alleged piss. It’s all in a big weird pile so don’t expect too much in the way of curation, but the £5 entry fee includes an excellent little guide book. It would definitely be worth visiting on a guided tour day, which are approximately once a month and conducted by the collection’s owner.

We visited the Viktor wynd museum of curiosities in the basement of the bar. This is a collection that its curator has built up from all over the globe and features all sorts of macabre curiosities. A really unique collection, certainly not one to bring the kids to or for the prudish but if you're looking for something different to shock you or make you laugh this is the one. The bar is reasonably prices especially for London where you nornally get completely rinsed for any alcoholic beverage and has a really unique and great vibe. Staff were really friendly and helpful, easy to find and a very short walk from Victoria park with plenty of public transport close by.
