Matilda is one amazing show. Kids 6&10 loved it. Theatre is very nice, you can see well from the top stage. Went during the week - still full, still busy. There’s option to buy drinks & refreshments. Also Matilda merchandise- T-shirts, hodies, books - very expensive must warn you. Child & family friendly.Definitely recommended 👏

A nice theatre. Came to see Matilda here and show was fantastic. We sat in stalls and felt that no matter where you sit in the stall the row in front isn't low enough so you cannot see properly unfortunately. The people in front of us couldn't see in front of them either and we're moving their heads to see through gaps, I felt that everyone was doing this. Seats are reasonable for a West End theatre and love the location surrounded by nice food spots. I definitely hope to return next year to see the production again.

Absolutely amazing staff were brilliant. Place was lovely. And the cast of Matilda on the 2pm Thursday 28th October 2021 were just amazing my daughter waited 2 years from us booking the tickets due to lockdown restrictions and I have to say it was well worth the wait and the three hour drive.

Second time watching Matilda. We had front row Royal Circle seats which was great for the kids as sometimes in the stalls you’re unlucky if a tall person sits in front of you. The theatre is great and the ushers are knowledgeable and helpful.

We saw Matilda and it was fantastic. The theatre was well organised and the seats afforded a good view of the stage. The show was great and everyone, little kids and the big kids in the audience loved it. I'd definitely recommend, especially if your child loves the book.

Matilda was amazing tonight. Funny, entertaining and worth every penny. We loved ‘Miss’ Trunchball. The whole cast were fabulous, the children were great. Thanks for a great night. We will be coming back. We were also given an unexpected upgrade when we arrived which was really kind and much appreciated 🥰

I saw Matilda the musical here. It was nice staff, ticketing was easy to show from Google wallet. It was Easy to navigate my seat, with guidance form staff. It was really hot inside though. I don't know why AC wasn't working inside.

The thing is I actually star in the musical, and have for the past 8 years or so at this theatre, I have also seen it from the audience just a few days ago and it was absolutely fabulous, because I do not actually realise what goes on when I am backstage, so, it was an experience and it still is an experience, get your tickets, low prices do top up quite fast! Hurry!!@cambridgetheatrelondon

We went to watch Matilda, absolutely loved it!!! The stage set up, performance was on point. Our first time at the theatre, a must visit. Our seats were perfect, row H30, 31 and 32, at the top. My daughter sat on a booster seat they provided.

The show was amazing. The kids are very talented. Access is easy. Seating is good although the can make the levels higher the parent heights block kids and adults from having a clear view. The toilets are clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. The sound at times could become a bit overwhelming for little ones. Overall a good outing for older kids to go to.

Matilda is great. Really amazing musical. The set was amazing, and the kids were really professional too. Even when the show has technical difficulty, they all still did awesome.

Went to see Matilda here. Was a bit worried about social distancing but the staff do a fantastic job ensuring people are safe. The theatre is quite small and intimate and the show was amazing. The bar prices are a little high but you're in the West End so it's to be expected. Lighting rigs and sound are fantastic and the seats are comfy enough to keep your concentration on the show and not when the interval is. Thanks to all the staff and team for a great night out.

First visit here to see Matilda. Corner site. Check your ticket before joining queue to enter. Upper circle entrance to the right of main door. There's a ticket check and bag check by staff whilst queuing. Stairs to upper circle not too steep.. about 100. Small bar, toilet area ( NB women s door opens into the corridor. Be careful where you stand) auditorium divides into two banks. 1 to 17 right hand door, 18 - left. Very steep down steps to your seat. No holding rail after row E. Our seats on row B well spaced for feet and fairly comfy. Didn't see notices about strobes lights so bit taken aback when they appeared in second half. Machines are situated either side of upper circle. Definitely wouldn't recommend tickets in far sides of row A ! Overall nice little theatre.

The show was fantastic and I was impressed by the view we had all the way up in the upper circle! The legroom was better than most theatres as well. Only downside would be the lack of toilets - only 5 ladies toilets in the upper circle area so there was quite a queue!

Stunning theatre. Looks like they have spent some money recently getting the place looking smart and fresh. Matilda was a fantastic production. From the cast, performance and to the set it was all amazing. I would recommend to all if you can get a ticket!

  • 5/5 Jess R. 2 years ago on Google
Staff were helpful and courteous, as well as diligent about checking people's covid passes which was comforting. The show was fabulous - I would highly recommend Matilda to audiences of all ages as there really is something for everyone. If you have sensitive hearing or hearing-related sensory issues, I would recommend ear defenders as some parts are quite loud. Similarly, there are a few times when bright lights are shone over/into the audience and some people could be triggered by this. There were posters up letting people know this which were easily visible before viewing. All in all a fabulous experience.

Saw Matilda at this venue it was amazing! One of the best shows I have ever seen. Was such a professional production the acting was great, the set design was clever, the choreography was well done, the energy was present in all actors and I could tell everyone was having a good time on stage!

Came here and saw Matilda. The show was decent, but it felt a bit like children’s’ theater. The production did do some interesting things with the stage and audience to make it feel more engaging.

  • 4/5 Donna R. 1 year ago on Google
Really fantastic show, took my daughter and nice and they loved Matilda. Only thing is they need to enforce the minimum age cause 2 kids sat in front were about 4 at most and disruptive but staff did come over and try to deal with it so thank you. The performers were so talented and we loved it though, we will probably come back again.

Matilda was a good musical but not my favourite in London so far. I think it’s not the best choice for non-speaking people, as the accents are quite strong and make it hard to understand sometimes, so you’d better know the plot in advance. Apart from that, children’s performance is amazing.

A lovely theatre, very reasonably priced. Matilda was amazing. The little girl playing Matilda (Laurel Sumberg) was out of this world. Best west end musical I have ever had the pleasure of watching! Looking forward to seeing it again.

We enjoyed Matilda but as we were enjoying the show, a girl in front of us was making some noise. The theatre staff approached us and told my kids to keep quiet. I don't want to make a fuss at the moment because I don't want to ruin the evening.

This was a great theater and an amazing show! We got the tickets for the kids and the entire family ended up loving it. It kept the kids engaged and the music and acting and story were all top notch. I truly thought because it was mostly kids that it would be “subpar”, but quite the opposite-these kids delivered and I was blown away by the talent here. I watched the movie a lot as a kid so naturally I love the story, but the music truly sold it.

Visited here to see Matilda. Such a great performance and the stage looked incredible. Just a shame that our view was partially obstructed despite purchasing tickets that had an 'unobstructed view'. Recommend going to see the show, but aiming to get seats on the lower tiers.

Watched Matilda the musical with my little girl and it was absolutely amazing. All the cast members were brilliant. Very clean toilets. Very helpful staff. Security guys were so kind. Enjoyed every single bit of our show. Easy to get to as well.

It's a cozy and old place where there are a lot of local pubs nearby if you want to grab a drink and socialize with locals. The theater is on square with their own security so if you wish to see some drama you need to buy tickets.

Dear Matilda's cast and crew at the theatre. The stage is very techy with all these props popping out and just hiw many boxes are there in total? The cast is oh so wonderful and the play was super. Thank you for the music and the memories. I found the play to be very emotional and the mood lighting really set the scene at every given stage. My children were memorised by the whole lot and loved it too.

Saw Matilda with my family at a 7pm Friday show. The theater was well organized, easy and fast to get inside and to our seats. The consessions were also convenient and Much cheaper than at theaters in NYC. Matilda was an excellent show, wonderful singing, acting and production. We sat up really high in the Upper Circle Row E, middle section, and the views were totally good. We all had a great evening.

We visited here to see Matilda and it was brilliant. We all thoroughly enjoyed the show. The theatre itself like a lot of the theatres in the area is housed in a small building so some of the areas can get very busy. The staff we met were all helpful. The seats were comfortable and there were boosters available for the kids.

Matilda is so much fun; I couldn't stop smiling for the duration of the show. The acting, the singing and the dancing are incredible. The room set up is creative and playful; the theatre is small and intimate. We sat in row K in seats 17 and 18 which gave us an incredible view. I made so many good memories here, I'd highly recommend.

The Cambridge Theatre is a West End theatre located on the corner of Earlham Street and Mercer Street, just at the Seven Dials junction in Convent Garden. You can get there by getting off at the Covent Garden Station and walk south-west along Long Acre and then north-west along Mercer Street. This will take you to the theatre. What's playing there at the moment is the excellent production of Matilda The Musical. It depends on the day but my son managed to buy tickets online from the theatre website for £35. Goods seats near the front.

Matilda was a fantastic performance. The actors were brilliant, the set design was STUNNING and we thoroughly enjoyed the show. I was however irked before arriving by their telephone answering automation which sends you round in circles, ignoring your options and doing anything except putting you through to a human being. I was then aghast at their tiny pots of ice cream they were charging £4 for. We were seated up in the nose bleeds and they had little binoculars in front of the seats you could borrow by putting a £1 coin in a slot to release them - like a shopping trolley I thought - but no, unlike a shopping trolley, when I returned the binoculars it did NOT return my £1 coin. I went and spoke to a member of staff who told me to speak to her supervisor, which I did, and he coldly tells me that it doesn’t give it back. I explained that I had returned the binoculars and didn’t quite understand why they would withhold my money after I had returned their binoculars. If I had not returned them, I would be up one pair of binoculars for £1 instead of out of pocket for no discernable reason. I mean it’s not as if there’s wear and tear or they get consumed and need replacing. Why retain the money when people have already paid an arm and a leg to see the show? It just smacks of greed to be honest. That and the £4 thimble full of ice cream...

What a fabulous night!!! For my sisters birthday we went on the Bookworm Experience to see Matilda. Absolutely worth it! James (manager) was a fantastic host, she showed us to our reserved table at the bar. Arranged for our drinks and nibbles to be replenished for interval. It really does make the night so special. The theatre was wonderful and the show Matilda was incredible. Downside, the toilets are VERY tight to get into but I'm not even going to mark it down for it as the rest of the night was just so good. Thanks to James and all other staff who helped make our evening a memorable experience.

Saw Matilda the Musical. Amazing show and I would recommend it. We sat in the dress circle row 4 and had a great view. We bought a program when we arrived and ice cream in the interval. Seats were comfortable. Toilets, a long queue and very small.
