Great bookstore on multi-floors and coffee shop. Huge book selection of pretty much all flavours. Very popular coffee shop being on the corner between Trafalgar Square and Charing Cross station (plus toilet). TBH it is recommended for the books but far less for the busy coffee shop and small toilet.

This is a large branch of the Waterstones bookstore chain at Trafalgar Square in London. It has a very good selection of books of all genres and for all ages. It also offers a variety of other goods, such as magazines, stationery, small decorations and souvenirs, board games, etc. It is an excellent bookstore and certainly worth a visit when you are in the vicinity

What a store, if you love reading this store is for you. It’s impossible to walk out without the book you are looking for. So many books so don’t be afraid to ask the staff they are super friendly

Can't really accept someone saying this to us right before we buy some books: "this is a bookstore, not a restaurant". We had spent a long time choosing the books and wanted to use the restroom. When I asked the cashier downstairs, that was her response... "bookstore, not a restaurant". The place is aesthetically fine except for the horrible and arrogant service. 1 Star for that obnoxious way we were treated. The purchase foregone is apparently something they don't care about.

The location is brilliant because you can escape the madness of trafalgar square. the cafe upstairs can be a little busy but they have a toilet up there (closes early some days so be aware) also it's not the nicest or cleanest toilet in the world... i really like this branch though, it's better than the strand for sure.

Nice bookstore and cafe. A great place to peruse while resting from sight-seeing! Buy an item to get a receipt with code to use the restroom.

This was great. I brought my 16 year old daughter here to buy some books. There's just something about being surrounded by loads of books. My daughter loved it and she can't wait to go back. We also met someone who who was also book shopping. They were able to give us feedback on a book we were interested in and also made some recommendations to us.

A fun, lively, and amazing bookstore. All book lovers should visit this bookstore

This is a UK version of an American Barnes and Noble bookstore and cafe. Well organized and clean with the convenient location right off of Trafalgar Square. The only negative thing i have to say is that there was only one employee servicing the cafe guests and there was a line of several people waiting to order drinks. The employee was very polite and did the best she could given that she is only one person.

Lovely place and great people. Person at the payout was a lovely young woman that took interest in what i was buying (Terry Prattchet books mainly) complimented the purchase and even chimed in with a small anecdote that was much appreciated and when problems arrived when needed to pay se was quick and decisive in solving the problem without being rude or pushy in any way. A great experience.

Lovely atmosphere. Tea and cake overlooking Trafalgar Square. What is there not to like‽

This is a really good Waterstones in London. 3 floors with a café at the top. Lots of spaces to sit and read and of course a huge selection of books. The staff are all super friendly and very helpful. They will help find books and search for the closest store, if they do not have it in stock.

I don’t think there is a book you can’t find there :) very helpful staff with huge knowledge about literature and willing to help with anything. We visited cafe also and the only thing that bothered me was the fact that tables were not cleaned after previous customers. Nevertheless- very good coffee. We’re coming back to that place every time we are in London.

Nice Waterstones in a very nice location, it's a very sizable store so you can within reason guarantee you'll find what you're looking for, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful Due to the spot it is filled with a lot of people who are a bit aimless and end up blocking your paths quite a bit so if you want to actually do some shopping might be better off travelling further and heading to another one of the stores

While Waterstones prides itself in their extremely amazing selection of books, some of the shops, including this one have opened cafes. These cafes have provided a safe haven to both students, workers and readers. Not only is it full of a calm atmosphere which extremely polite cafe workers, but it also has a spacious room for people to get on with their own work, reading or conversations. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for a place to study or read or merely drink a cup of coffee while surrounded by books.

Nice bookshop chain, the staff seemed helpful, and they had a great table set up for best crime / mystery books of all time.

Lovely place to have a cup of coffee at. Can get busy at times. Good environment and the cafe upstairs has cozy window seats.

Great selection, friendly staff, welcoming and relaxed. Grest displays too. My son spent ages in the shop looking at books before making his choice, he loved the Myths and Legends section in the kids area!

Book shops with cafes are always worth a visit, culture and calories are a superb combination. Well set out book selection as you would expect from Waterstones and exceptionally good wraps in a cafe which comes with great views of Trafalgar Square.

An amazing collection on space and metaphysics, and extremely nice and helpful staff!

Waterstones as a book shop is great. Where it lets itself down is in the cafe only insofar as the selection of cakes etc was minimal. In addition, there was only full fat milk. Might not be a problem for some, but for a organisation of this stature, you would have thought that they would have a full repotoire! My biggest gripe is that the cafe is large and so why don't they have a rest room especially for families with babies? There you have it.

Like this cafe a lot - go here with my kids, comfortable seating upstairs. Views are ok. But great book selection and had some very interesting conversations with both staff and customers here

It's a Waterstones. So just like all other Waterstones. If you like buying books it's as good a place as any. But why not save trees and buy the digital versions. That said I find it a lot easier to give up reading a digital book than a paper book.

Love visiting different branches of the store, to see what different books they have on offer, different displays and wider range of literature (despite being a chain, I often seem to find differences in different stores). Got hold of a fantastic book on the metro/travel maps of the world

staff are so lovely! had a slice of banana bread which was almost as good as mine😂🍌 so great to see the penguin clothbound classics collection there; was able to add to my own! nice ambience as always, and the only thing i would say is that the spirituality/new age thought/yoga section was slightly dry and in need of stocking up with a few more books. those which were there were good books, however!

The two gentlemen that helped me were most wonderful. Beautiful shop, hope all the workers are doing okay. Clean, clear way of finding things and no issues or “unsafe” feeling whatsoever. I’m not from London, but I will definitely come again! Thanks <3

Quite huge bookshop, variety of different genres. They also have the kid's section. Great plus is the cute cafè on the top floor. Really gets you into the london atmosphere :) Definitely worth the shot!!

Nice bookshop, but the basement is breathtakingly large and wonderful. Could spend a lifetime in here. The first floor café also good but service sometimes a little slow.

Cafe: comfy place to read a book, have a chat, but food is ordinary, as well as coffee. So hard to recommend. But the selection of books is great in this bigger chapter.

Stunning. Great coffee nook upstairs. Alysia the hostess was fantastic and all customers were kept happy. The young lady cleaning the tables was working fast out and still smiling and well with all. An Alladins Cave of great Literature on 3 floors. Nice staff. V.good

There are little words to describe how friendly the staff had been to me. I am a regular at this cafe and love coming here every-time. The manager Dorota has been very welcoming to me. I would highly recommend anyone, student trying to get some work done, or businessman having a morning meeting, i believe all will be welcome. The music is also very nice and makes you feel at home.
