We hired The Mitre Pub for our wedding reception and it was absolutely brilliant! Chris (the owner) and the team were fabulous from start to finish. They went above and beyond to ensure the evening was a success - from making us personalised mocktails and cocktails to sourcing a keg of our favourite ale and decorating the place from top to bottom. I cannot recommend this pub enough - whether to just get a drink with friends or host a larger event! Its full of character, charm and has the best pizzas in Richmond. The staff are amazing and Rudi the pub dog is lovely too. Thanks Chris and team!

Really fantastic pub on a nice quiet spot in Richmond with lots of outdoor seating, amazing pizzas, great drinks and super friendly staff. I recently had my birthday party there and Chris and the team could not have more accommodating! We love going there with our dog as it’s very doggy friendly and Rudi the pub dog is super cute.

Was staying locally for work. I looked up the local real ale pubs and I wasn't disappointed at all! Fantastic pub. I also had a calzone which was absolutely delicious. I'll be back if I'm in the area again!

An absolutely charming traditional pub with incredibly warm and friendly staff, the pizzas were absolutely exceptional and rank up high in my favourite London pizzas. I would thoroughly recommend trying them if you find yourself enjoying a pint at this wonderful establishment 👌🏼

My favourite local pub. Their pizzas are great. It is always a nice atmosphere there. I come there with friends, as it is a very nice place to have a proper catch up, a drink and some food.

A genuine gem of a place. For beer lovers, Timothy Taylor’s Landlord is the “house beer”, alongside a constantly changing selection of other interesting draft beers and ciders from around the country. All are beautifully kept. Then there are the pizzas which are just fantastic – among the very best pizzas we’ve had anywhere (takeaway, delivery or eat in). Chris, the landlord, and his staff (particularly Matt!) are friendly and helpful and always happy to chat about the less well-known “guest beers” that they feature. Have to mention Rudi, the wonderfully good-natured pub dog, and after whom the pizza kitchen is named. He really deserves a review all of his own!

Excellent huge takeaway toastie from Rudis Pizza Kitchen @ The Mitre - enough for a large appetite (or even two small ones). Highly recommended.

What a lovely find. We were staying in the Premier Inn looking where to eat… for us this place was perfect- great beers - ales, lager, IPAs and cider, obviously wines and spirits and then delicious pizzas. What made it more perfect, staff of 5 great team, 2 cooking, 2 at the bar and a floating server. Random location but a buzzing pub. We’re not local but assume lots were. Whenever we come back to Richmond we know a great place to go

If I could give them 10 stars I would. This pub is special. A proper community where they look after their locals and where visitors can expect a warm welcome (particularly from Rudy the dog if you have treats). The wines are always exceptionally good and reasonably priced. The pizza rivals anything you’d have in Naples. Catch the live music on a Sunday afternoon for some chilled out vibes to ease you into the week. Their outpost the little Mitre provided the bar at my wedding, where Chris and the team went above and beyond to provide a legendary service. The cocktails went down a storm. Looking forward to seeing you all when we’re back from our honeymoon!

This is a great pub. Unfortunately I live to far away to visit the pub regularly, but whenever I am in the area visiting friends we invariably end up in the Mitre. The Mitre has a friendly relaxed atmosphere, there is a good range of independent beer - one of which is always gluten free. They also have good food and their gluten free pizza is up there with the best I've had. Every neighborhood should have a pub like the Mitre.

Really fantastic pub. Have been there multiple times and always had a great experience. Chris and the team are always very welcoming and have a great choice of pizza and beer. Would recommend as the hidden gem of Richmond! Recently had my girlfriends 30th Birthday there and would definitely recommend for hosting any occasion.

Great range of real ales in excellent condition, which go down well with the terriffic pizzas. Friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. Lovely looking pub inside and out including stained glass windows. We sat inside with the very cute pub dog for company but we could have sat out front or back had we wished. Will certainly go back when next in the area. I wish it was my local!

By far the best pub in Richmond. We regularly go to the Mitre, as they serve really fresh cask ales that change regularly. They also serve fantastic pizza’s where you can choose your own toppings or have the monthly special. We often get the dough balls as they are the perfect accompaniment to a few pints! Definitely get down there if your in the area!

This is the pub for me, such a great find! Lovely spot, with outdoor seating areas both on the patio at the front and in the beer garden at the back, here you can chat with your friends at leisure without having to shout as there is no traffic on this side road and the other patrons (presumably locals) are very civilised. It makes amazing pizzas with fresh Italian ingredients. Their burrata literally melts in your mouth! All the staff is friendly and welcoming and service fast and attentive. The live music in the garden is an added bonus and Rudi the icing on the cake: a sweet, well behaved, beautiful dog! Watch this space!

A fine traditional pub with an excellent range of real ales and cider. Cosy atmosphere, proper fire and friendly dog. Landlord happy to discuss beer choices, aiming for a range of beer styles and from outside London. Worth seeking out - it's hard to find and has limited opening hours.

A wonderful selection of real ales and craft ales and then to top it all. Their pizzas are absolutely to die for.. Highly recommended and lots of my work colleagues and friends agree.

Love this pub, the pizza is great and Rudi is always so charming ❤️ Goes without mentioning that the staff is amazing and particularly the two chaps who are often hosting, they’re very well mannered.

Not just a great local, but one of the best in a long long way. Charming and welcoming, with pride in the beer they serve (which, if you're a cask ale drinker, you'll fall head over heels for) this really epitomises what a pub should be. Completely and totally worth going out of your way for; or if you're local, even better!

Our favourite local. Amazing staff, fantastic pizzas from Edgar. Wonderful rotating selection of beers and ciders. And who could forget the star attraction, Rudi the pub dog! 😍

Enjoyed a fab pizza and a few drinks here. Very nice pub off the beaten track in the back roads of Richmond. Lovely staff, very friendly. Was reasonably priced and not too busy! Perfect afternoon ❤️

Been our local for 4+ years since Chris took over. Lovely atmosphere, great wine(not a beer drinker). Live music on Sundays is bonus, particularly the brilliant Scott McMahon. Recent addition of pizza kitchen completes the picture. Come on down!

Been visiting The Mitre for a few years now and it keeps getting better and better. Great choice of ales now even more satisfying with this years addition of the new pizza kitchen. Absolutely delicious choices, all with fresh ingredients and tasty side salads. Friendly staff and great service.

Hi there, yes definitely the correct pub, St Mary's Grove right? Sorry just didn't like it. Didn't eat there so can't comment on that, went on a Friday afternoon based on the excellent reviews, no atmosphere, felt like I had to whisper to have a conversation weird vibe, wouldn't go back

The CAMRA guide book took me there and I don’t regret it. Wonderful choice of traditional real ales and local craft beers so everyone is happy. 🍻 This pub is old fashioned in a good way. Like traditional pubs used to be. You want it to remain like this forever. People there are friendly (obviously locals) and pleasant to chat with. So is the staff. I learned this pub was also famous for welcoming dogs. All welcome, all quiet and funny. 🐾 It gives even more charm to the place. I didn’t try the pizzas but they look gorgeous ! Long live The Mitre 👍

We held a surprise party here at this picture-perfect pub & it couldn't have been any better. Chris went above & beyond to make it an awesome night. He was a pleasure to deal with & thought of everything. The venue was just right. There was plenty of inside & outside space but in flowing sections so it didn't get too crowded, but also didn't seem empty when people were outside. I can not recommend this venue enough for a large or small gathering. The staff & the venue were brilliant & equally as nice & helpful as the manager. Chris really was the perfect host. And unlike a lot of the other venues in Richmond, he was just glad to have a busy pub rather than insisting on minimum spends & ridiculous hire charges. He was honest & an absolute gentleman to deal with. Thank you!!🍾👏
