Solitaire jewellers was recommended to me by my boss who had used them in the past. I went in with a wedding band that I had got for my upcoming wedding in May but for some reason it just didn't look right with my engagement ring. Darren was able to recommend how to reshape it to suit my engagement ring and transformed it for a very reasonable price. I also had my engagement ring resized at the same time which then involved more work as some of the diamonds needed re-setting, but no job was too much for them and I am very happy with the result. I came in to get a quote for modernising my nan's engagement ring and straight away the jeweller had lovely ideas about what we could do with it and what setting and metals to use to make the diamond stand out. In addition to the diamond from my nan's engagement ring, he was able to incorporate my great great grandmother's wedding band and the claw setting from a modern ring. His knowledge and insight was obvious and his enthusiasm infectious! I'm delighted with my ring and the other places I asked quoted twice the cost with nowhere near the level of enthusiasm and creativity.

Most amazing, helpful family run jewellers. Two hours before my daughter was due to fly out for her big trip to Asia, they stopped all work at the workshop to fit a new stronger clasp to her much loved and constantly worn necklace! We were so thankful she could wear it again on her big travels , she said it restored her to feeling herself again ! It meant such a lot to her, I can't thank Solitaire jewellers enough . I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this skilled and honest jewellers. Admittedly, I’ve walked past this shop lots of times but never had the reason to pop in until this week. It’s my 10 year wedding anniversary and I asked advice about my husbands wedding band. I genuinely thought what I was asking would cost quite a bit and would be complicated. Another shop could have easily sniffed out my quite obvious lack of knowledge and taken advantage. Not Solitaire! They offered a really simple and cost effective solution. The adjustments to the original ring was completed so quickly. What I thought might take a couple of weeks, was done the very next day. I’ve just gone to pick up the ring and I am amazed at how beautiful it looks, it genuinely looks like a brand new ring. I love how honest, friendly and efficient this place is and will go back without hesitation next time I need a jewellers.

Such beautiful pieces to chose from and they're so quick and efficient at re-sizing and personalising etc. We've always felt really valued as a customer. The price is also really competitive and we've been able to find something we both love that's within budget. We can't recommend this place enough!

What an amazing service! Would 100% recommend you use their services for any repairs. I had a nasty fall on a pavement walkway whilst out jogging and ended up denting and damaging my engagement ring quite badly. I took my ring to Solitaire Jewellers who actually fixed it within just over an hour on the same day. Other places quoted me 4 weeks! They did such an AMAZING job! It looks brand new and they were just so friendly and welcoming! Will definitely be returning for my jewellery needs. THANK YOU for making my day better after a not so good start.

Darren went above and beyond in helping me get a watch repaired that had sentimental value to my father. I had my wife’s wedding ring enlarged so that I would be able to wear it (sadly, she died of cancer). Our rings were made in Portugal, finely crafted with two halves twisted together (permanently linked even when opened) and with inscriptions within. It was not a simple job – a new piece needed to be inserted, while preserving all the characteristics of the old. The ring is perfect - as if it had been made the larger size in the first place.

I came across Solitaire by pure coincidence as I'd be looking for somewhere reliable to repair my engagement ring, which was purchased many years ago from a renowned international jewellers, who were unable to make any further repairs due to a fault in the design. Darren overheard me talking about it and politely suggested I popped in to the jewellers - and I'm so glad I did! They managed to repair the ring without having to make any major changes to the design and in keeping with the original style. All within a super quick time frame and at a very reasonable price. I'm so impressed and can't thank and recommend them enough!!

Having lived in the area for over 20yrs, so I have always found a reason to use this wonderful family run jewellers. Repairs and alterations to my gold and silver pieces have always been excellent. I wouldn’t definitely recommend this friendly local business!

Really good customer service, very friendly. I had a ring that was mended, as the band broke. They put it back together seamlessly. They also made the opal stone look a lot brighter! It didn’t cost the earth and it was mended a lot sooner than I thought it was going to be. I felt safe giving them something that was precious to me, they took my details for the ring and spoke to me about how they keep it safe. Really good, highly recommend!

Solitaire Jewellers were fantastic- I came to them after a recommendation the day before my wedding to find an vintage stick pin as a present for my very hard to buy for Dad - something that nowhere seemed to have! We had planned to get my Dad cufflinks until we were told by my mum last minute that he didn’t like cufflinks and would like a stick pin instead. The search began… I arrived in peak pre-wedding stress and the shop atmosphere was calm, the shop owner could not have been more helpful, and found me a vintage stick pin straight away. We also found a back and a lovely box to present the item in, all in about 10 minutes. The price was really good and my Dad loved the piece, definitely something special. I was so glad I went! Solitaire were brilliant in interpreting what I wanted to do with my mother's jewellery. They remade her gold into this beautiful bangle which combines a gold bracelet of mother's with one of mine that had been a present from her. Both were broken & unwearable so this bangle is the perfect result. Her wedding ring was melted down also & remade into this beautiful ring. I wear both every day, thank you so much Solitaire.

Darren and hid team at Solitaire were more than helpful diagnosing the issue with a special watch that my dad has had for years and suddenly stopped working. It holds a lot of sentimental value & the team recognised this keeping us updates along the way to ensure we were happy with repairs and costs. My first experience of using Solitaire Jewellers can best be described as excellent. I visited with my 52 year old Vintage Omega watch, handed down to me from my Father, looking to have an adjustment made to the tachometer bezel. Darren was friendly and courteous and clearly showed an appreciation for this watch. He suggested that this would be best viewed by his watch repair specialist and he would get back to me if it wasn’t possible to fix. A week later my watch was ready to be picked up. A super job done and at a super low price. My wife who picked it up came home and said, ‘what a lovely man’. I would very much recommend this family run, small business.

Brilliant customer service. We have had quite few pieces repaired here and it has always been a great service. Prices are reasonable. Recently we had a bracelet for my son repaired by them but unfortunately we lost it, they really went all the way to getting us a similar one for a very reasonable price and very kindly did not charge us for the resizing or the engraving. Absolutely brilliant and professional.

A very quick and friendly service. I took a ring in for replating and resizing and it was ready for collection the next day. The gentleman who served me was very polite and extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I would definitely go again for any repairs.

My husband and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary while we were visiting our daughter last fall. Have been to this jewellers twice about a ring I bought from an antique shop (first to get it resized then a new stone set). Excellent service and value for money, both times the work was done far quicker than anticipated. Will definitely use this jeweller for any other repairs in the future. Have noticed they sell some beautiful antique jewellery too, alongside new products.
