Went
here
on
a
Friday
night,
my
friend
and
I
were
more
than
a
little
hungry.
Our
stomachs
rumbled,
and
we
were
keen
to
unwind
and
enjoy
some
tasty
food.
The
venue
looks
great
and
has
a
nice
outdoor
area
where
you
can
dine
when
the
sun
is
out.
And,
of
course,
inside,
there
is
a
lovely
flower
wall
perfect
for
pictures.
Upon
entering
the
restaurant,
the
atmosphere
was
great.
The
restaurant
was
bustling
with
activity.
The
music
was
a
tad
too
loud
but
enjoyable.
However,
the
volume
became
slightly
annoying
as
the
night
wore
on,
and
we
attempted
to
speak
to
one
another.
The
My
Shish
staff
were
polite
and
helpful
in
providing
details
on
popular
dishes
and
ingredients.
Some
of
the
menu
prices
had
our
eyebrows
lifting
in
surprise,
but
we
were
still
looking
forward
to
ordering.
Once
our
orders
were
in,
we
found
ourselves
waiting
longer
than
expected,
the
restaurant
was
having
a
busy
evening.
From
the
menu,
we
ordered
one
starter
Sushi
(flamed
at
the
table)
with
'sushi
rice,
avocado
sauce,
soy
sauce,
crispy
fries'
for
£13.
My
Shish's
showmanship
when
it
comes
to
the
restaurant's
flaming
of
food
at
the
table
is
a
nice
spectacle.
It
also
makes
for
a
great
Snapchat
video.
The
addition
of
soy
sauce
and
crispy
fries
certainly
improved
the
taste
of
beef
sushi
for
me.
The
beef
needed
to
be
slightly
thinner.
One
piece
was
too
large
and
led
to
the
beef
flavour
overpowering
my
senses.
For
the
main
course,
we
ordered
what
sounded
like
two
very
delicious
dishes.
Char-grilled
chicken
steak
with
'french
beans
and
roasted
cherry
tomatoes
served
with
rice'.
The
second
dish
was
'slow-roasted
lamb
shank,
served
with
mashed
potato
and
enriched
with
rich
tomato
sauce'.
Overall
the
main
dishes
were
exceptionally
disappointing.
The
flavour
punch
we
had
hoped
for
didn't
occur.
There
were
no
sighs
of
pleasure
as
we
took
a
bite
of
each
dish.
The
lamb
was
beautifully
cooked
and
fell
off
the
bone,
but
lacked
seasoning
and
flavour.
While
the
mash
was
nice
and
creamy,
the
tomato
sauce
did
not
complement
the
lamb.
The
chicken
steak
looked
moorish,
but
was
dry.
It
desperately
needed
to
be
coated
in
a
sauce.
I
decided
against
ordering
a
sauce
separately
at
an
additional
charge.
In
other
restaurants
I
have
been
to,
there
has
been
a
lovely
sauce
lightly
dripped
over
the
chicken
steak.
A
number
of
restaurants
also
have
their
chicken
steak
drizzled
with
a
sauce.
In
addition
to
another
in
a
small
dish
(giving
the
dinner
the
option
of
selecting
the
sauce
flavour).
I
did
enjoy
the
roasted
cherry
tomatoes
and
the
french
beans
were
well-cooked.
Yet
the
plain
rice
served,
did
not
add
any
valuable
flavour
dimension
to
the
dish.
The
aesthetics
and
showmanship
at
My
Shish
are
great.
But,
the
food
did
not
have
us
leaning
back
in
our
seats
with
smiles.
We
left
My
Shish
truly
underwhelmed
and
questioning
where
the
flavour
was.
