If you are a light sleeper DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. Union strikers will wake you up at 7 am with drums, horns, and chants. We booked this hotel for a festival, arrived to our room around 2 am only to be woken up at 7 am. Got very little sleep. The hotel employees were striking in front of our balcony on the first floor. On top of having to deal with that chaos, there are crickets all over the hotel. They go into your room and don't let you sleep or they hide under your door making noise all night long. The rooms have terrible lighting even when you have all the lights on. The room smelled like a damped towel. Bathroom sink has no counter space at all which makes it difficult to get ready. On a positive note, bed was comfortable and the location is beautiful. It's an older hotel, but our experience was not pleasant, instead it was a painful experience due to the lack of sleep. There were other issues with our stay as well, but got resolved. FYI they have rooms advertised with a king size bed when in reality it's a queen size bed. We eventually got a room with a king size bed.

I'm really disappointed with the Front Desk Staff at Hotel Maya. I just recently had my wedding there and although I had a great experience working with the catering manager and others involved in the wedding planning experience, it was the entire Front Desk staff and management that was upsetting. First off, the attitude of the front desk employees were terrible. We had over 20 rooms blocked for our wedding and it seemed like almost everyone had a bad experience checking in like we did with the very combative front desk girl. Also, when checking in, no one informed us that we needed to make reservations to get our room cleaned. Since when do I have to make a reservation at a hotel for housekeeping? The day of my wedding, I had called Front Desk to get my room serviced and they told me that I needed to make a 24 hour in advance reservation for that service. After I explained to the management team that no one advised us of this new protocol and also explained that I was the bride who was spending lots of $$$$$ and needed to have my bridal suite serviced by housekeeping, they still would not come & clean my room. So after our wedding was over, my now Husband and I had to go back to a dirty room thanks to the incompetent people at the front desk. Hotel Maya has sure gone downhill in the years and I understand that the pandemic has had something to do with it but if you are charging over $300 for a basic room, I should get the basic services that come along with staying at a hotel, like HOUSEKEEPING!!!!! Shame on you, Hotel Maya.

Hotel rooms very nice. They were more of an island tropical scene. Front desk hosts very pleasant. The food breakfast and lunch were a delight. Service exceptional especially the room service. Shuttle to the cruise line was absolutely convenient. However just one area of improvement is for the tortilla soup. My wife is a lover of this dish but in her her opinion was the worst she ever tasted. Something to work on.🥴 However had a wonderful stay will be back here for our next cruise👍

This was definitely not a good stay, upon arrival me and my husband were told that housekeeping does not service room only upon request or if we were staying longer than 4 days. Day 2 of our stay $200 went missing and housekeeping had been in the room. Even with the do not enter sign. That same night we found roaches in our room. I immediately packed my things and told my husband we are not staying here any longer (we checked out early) and I contacted the hotel manager who has still yet to return any emails or phone calls. Not even an apology for the stay. Truthfully disgusting and disappointed in Hilton. I do not recommend staying here at all. Staff is horrible and the manager is terrible.

I recently got married at Hotel Maya and there were picketers there. They were very loud every morning at 6am. On the day of my wedding I was concerned that they would interrupt my wedding and the manager told me they would be done by 8am. They left and came back when my wedding started at 5pm. During my ceremony you could hear them. My husband got into an argument with them before our ceremony. We paid a lot of money to have our wedding there. We also had a lot of guests stay at the hotel and they were unhappy. They said they paid a lot of money to stay there and it was unfair to be woken up at 6 am by this. You could hear the picketers in all of my videos. These are my precious memories that are ruined. My honeymoon room that was over priced looked like a regular room. Floors were dusty. The view was all the boats. I paid for 2 nights and got one free because of my wedding package. I will never recommend this place to anyone.

The property is right on the water, which is the best part about the hotel. Otherwise, it is dated: low popcorn ceilings, stained wallpaper in the bathroom was very unsightly, the sheer curtains had some red spaghetti sauce or food smeared on them and the room smelled musty and felt somewhat dingy. And keep in mind, we paid $400/night for each room and we needed 2 rooms. Check-in is not until 4 pm, unlike many hotels, which are at 3 pm. We asked for early check-in because the wedding rehearsal was at 5 pm on the hotel property and they said they could not accommodate that. On top of that, the room was not ready at 4 pm, which is the actual check-in time. The front desk girl was passive aggressive towards me, like I was being unreasonable for being annoyed that the room was not ready for check-in, even though it was 4 pm. She kept saying she had to contact housekeeping to see if the room was ready. She left us standing at the front desk with 3 kids and disappeared in the back for almost 10 minutes and when when she came back, I asked what was going on and she again said she's waiting to hear from housekeeping and then disappeared again. After 5 minutes, I asked another front desk person if there was a manager I could speak to because we've been standing here for 15 minutes and it's past check-in time and we have to be at the wedding rehearsal at 5 pm and still needed to shower so we need our room. That person went in the back, returned and said the original front desk girl was working with a manager on the situation. The manager never came out and the original girl finally checked us in. I would not stay here again. I understand that some properties are older, but then the service should at least be good to justify the high price. My understanding is they are always booked and have several weddings every weekend. I guess they know they don't need to provide good service because they are fully occupied anyway.

I 100% enjoyed my 2 night stay at Hotel Maya. Everything from check in to check out was a breeze. My room with the King bed had a view of the Queen Mary which I loved. The view was a little different from the view from the online brochure but I can't complain that there was no view even though I had to lean and look right. The staff was polite and knowledgeable in all areas of hotel hospitality. On the grounds I felt safe and there were no issues. The hotel is close to the freeway and in proximity to downtown LB. I will definitely stay here again on future LB visits.

Beautiful location near plenty of activities. Plenty of amenities although if you were excited about the chess board it's no longer available. Service is okay but apparently there are random times with no room service available. The robes are very nice and comfy. Front desk is impossible to contact because phones in the room are 1000 years old. Take forever to get someone on the phone. We waited over 7 hours just for towels and gave up. It was a relief to just leave.

The warm cookies make the entire visit worth it..... except for coffee maker not working and no place for smokers.... what a beautiful place to have a wedding! Would prefer they don't disassemble the wedding 3 minutes after the bride walks the aisle... had the altar gone before she came back for photos... but such a nice and fun place! Highly recommended... loved the view and all the office staff! Very fun!

After a long day Jetsking. All my family wanted to do was get cleaned up, shower and eat dinner. I had to get my own towels at the front desk after more than an hour waiting and 2 calls. Manager Steve said they only had 1 housekeeper for the whole facility, which is ridiculous. With my back pain I had to walk four buildings to front desk and was given an attitude by Daisy. I paid $300 per night just to get bad service and an attitude by staff. They had a no care attitude at all. Not at all Hilton standard. Called and complaint and no one ever followed up from Corporate. I was given a case number and till now no one reached out.

Decided to spend the night here after spending a whole day at Disneyland. We arrived around 10pm. Our check in clerk wasn’t the friendliest and gave me very short, abrupt answers whenever I asked him something about our stay. I asked about upgrading our room with something that had a better view of the ocean/Queen Mary (and willing to pay the difference) and he didn’t provide us with any options, just said it was be more money. I decided not to continue asking questions since he wasn’t willing to be helpful. It was a Monday night so I doubt all rooms were booked. We finally get to our room, the decor is lovely, Mayan themed, the balcony is nice and relaxing, the TV was big, the bed was comfy and the AC worked really well.. The bathroom was kind of small and the walls were thin. There was a lot of noise in the morning the next day, starting around 7/8am. It sounded like People cleaning the hallways, lots of random wall banging and we could hear staff members talking loudly.

Here, on day two of 4 days, The employees are all very nice and helpful, The jacuzzi wasn't working, but when they called for maintenance, he was there in 5min max, fantastic 👏 Walking distance to Queen Mary is 10 min walking from the hotel. Everything else is driving, but it's close. Parking at the hotel is 35 dollars a day. Grounds look very nice and maintained, Found someone's baggie between the 2 BBQ grills by the pool....it still might be there. Fuego, we didn't go into the bar or restaurant area but did walk around on the side walk, someone desperately needs to clean the glass banister, when you look you can see all the drinks that have been spilled over time. All the bedding are old, they have rips and are not white anymore, how do you put on sheets in the wrong direction? The wallpaper is dated and dirty. The bathroom needs a serious wall cleaning. There is plenty of hot water. Picture box on the wall, is falling apart, Spiderweb and spider come with the room. *First day maintenance came and said we ask to have a sink unclogged. It wasn't us. *The second day house cleaning was at our door. We didn't ask for service, had the do not disturb sign on the door, My husband said he didn't sleep very well with all the noise you can hear from other rooms. I will never stay at the Maya again, Hilton. You CAN do better. Not worth the 1600.00 we spent for 4 nights.

I really wanted to like this place as it looked great on the website, however when we got there, we were informed that the room we booked was not available because we booked through a 3rd party. I have booked through 3rd parties for years and have never had this issue. I booked a King and all they had was a Queen accessible and 2 Queens. My bf and I cannot sleep on a Queen together, so we ended up having to sleep in separate beds. I was also surprised at the $200 incidental hold charge and $35 per night for parking fees. I realize we booked through a 3rd party, however these are charges which we were not prepared for at all. On top of all of this, their staff was protesting every morning with bullhorns etc, so this was fun to wake up to. I feel like it might be a fun spot to stay at, however the fees are outrageous and not worth it at all. I would not come back.

This place was in a nice area of California. But if you book here DO NOT BOOK THE ROOM THAT INCLUDES BREAKFAST. you will only receive 19$ per person voucher which doesn't include tax and tip as you can only use this in the fuego restaurant on site, not the room service. And since each meal is priced high you will go over the 19 and have to always pay put of pocket. Now the positives I would say is the food taste good and servers are really nice. My view from my room was nice and the room was Def clean. The front desk was very nice people as well.

The hotel was just “ok”. I always fly into town and stay next door at the Marriott Residence Inn but it’s boring honestly. Maya always has a dope vibe so I eat, hookah and hang there. I finally decided to book 1 night to see if I liked the room. I understand the decor is supposed to be “Mayan” but it really does deserve a serious makeover. The outlets, wall a/c unit, tiny sink all from the 70s/80s at best. Moreover, there was hair in the tub. I’ll definitely return to vibe but not to stay.

I picked this hotel because it was close to the port and it looked pretty from the pictures. This was my 1st time to Long Beach and I was very impressed! From the check-in process to checking out. The front desk staff were amazing. The warm cookies were perfect. The hotel restaurant, food and staff just as amazing. Ricardo was my waiter and he was great! Very attentive genuine and accommodating I could've sat there all night. If you're looking for an all around great experience & stay pick this hotel!

The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The warm cookies upon arrival were a nice touch. We were able to check in early and got a nice first floor room. The rooms are very spacious but the bathroom is pretty small. The room is also very dark, like staying in a cave. You can definitely tell the hotel is older and received a facelift. The outdoor areas are tropical vibe with lots of outdoor seating overlooking the water. There is a nice walking path that takes you down the the Queen Mary. Downside there is only one restaurant on property and it’s a higher price fancy Mexican place. Not kid friendly food. There is also no coffee shop on property or in the vicinity! You have to cross the bridge to get to coffee, food and really anything. The walk to the aquarium was quick though and there is a dedicated walking/biking path on the bridge. Now the biggest downfall was the cleanliness of the hot tub. It was absolutely DISGUSTING. It was full of what looks like soap bubbles but if you know anything about hot tubs, that’s dirt and dead skin cells. Gross! Overall, decent stay but wouldn’t choose to stay here again unless maybe going on a cruise since it’s right next to the port.

Lets start off on a positive note, water view was beautiful. But now onto why it was not a good experience.... We had someone walk into our room, without even knocking, and my husband was getting dressed. There were stains on our towels and sheets gross!!! The sink in the bathroom barely drained... the towels also had a very odd odor. I was charged for parking 4 times when it should've been twice, one per day, i stayed 2 nights.

Absolutely awful. First of all, my sink drain was clogged. Can hardly brush my teeth without taking a swim in it. Not to mention, there’s no countertops. So pack light because you’ll have no where to put your bathroom necessities. Now here’s the other kicker. I wanted to leave my window shutters open to enjoy the beautiful view I paid extra for, but unfortunately they fall closed as soon as I open them due to their weight. Also, if you’re a light sleeper don’t plan on getting any sleep here. Every time someone closes their door, it sounds like a bomb dropping no matter which room they’re in or how far it is from yours. Next I wanted to turn on the heat in my room, but unfortunately my window AC would not stop making loud ticking sounds the entire time. The wall plugs are super loose as well, so anytime I wanted to blow dry my hair, I have to keep plugging back in my blow dryer seeing it won’t stay in the dang wall. This hotel is also nothing like the photos. You walk in and it’s dark and muggy. Not bright and tropical. I also wish they’d at least vacuum the place once in a while. I can see all of the dust and hair and pubes on the dark wood floors from the previous stay. Absolutely FILTHY. I hate to be the person to leave these types of reviews, but unfortunately they are asking way too much a night at this place for what it is. Please save your money and do not stay here.

Stayed here a few nights in Jan '22. Overall I thought it was a pretty good stay. I like all the trees and the feel of the property, but bigger picture it's quite remote from everything else in this area. A long walk or ride share from town or anywhere else. The room was fine. Since it's not one big building, you're exposed to the elements while going to and from your room. So, if raining it's bad, but if nice out it's nice... The Fuego restaurant was delicious but pricey. Overall I think it's a nice relaxing spot, and easier if you have a rental car.

Blood spots all over the floor in room. If you look through the reviews on different website, I’m not the only one complaining about uncleanliness, “Especially Guest Room Floors Being Dirty”. This hotel states that they have enhanced cleaning procedures. This is obviously a lie. Air conditioner did not function, no hot water at all when I went to take a shower. Staff is rude and incompetent. Staff would not respond to my messages, emails or faxes. No compensation, refund, or discount was given due to this nightmarish stay. I highly suggest that you DO NOT STAY HERE!! EVER

I am currently staying at this hotel. For the price and what is supposed to be a "resort," you do not get what you pay for. Just because it's close to the water, does not excuse what this place really is: run down and filthy. I first arrived yesterday and noticed how old the building was. This I can excuse, like with anything that ages, it's bound to look warn. What I could not excuse was the filth. When we walked in to the elevator, not only was it outdated and run down, the floor was dusty and dirty and clearly needed a good sweep. Then I get to my room. First I notice the dusty bathroom and toilet, as well as some questionable spots on the toilet seat. Then I look for a luggage stand to place my suitcase upon, and there is none to be found. Then I go to the desk, pull out the chair, and the seat is stained from sweat and there is hair on it; I didn't sit my butt there. Then I say, okay, let's see if I can at least use the drawers in the dresser/TV stand. I open the drawers, and alas, more dirt; it was also very dusty behind the TV and on the blinds. Let's not forget the hole in the duvet cover on the bed. Needless to say, I ended up wiping down all surfaces with Clorox, and spraying Lysol on surfaces that could not be wiped. Well, tonight, the icing on the cake was finding a nice size roach crawling on my bathroom door which I found in the reflection of the bathroom mirror. So, I call down the front desk to report the issue and to see if they can at least spray around the outside of the outside door. Well, I couldn't get an answer because the phone merely rang for a good 1 - 2 minutes. Here it is midnight, and I'm so upset by the conditions of this place and the fact that there's a roach in my room, that I'm losing precious sleep. I would not and will not recommend this place to anyone, regardless it being near/on the ocean.

I'm not sure how this hotel became a 4-star. I've been to a lot of hotels all over US and this one is just a solid 3-star. The cookie was great though. But the rooms aren't as good. The sink was clogged. TVs are outdated. There's no breakfast included. The pool is alright, even though it's only like 4.5 feet max. I mean, for a 4-star hotel, I expected more services and amenities, not lesser but oh well.

Liked the location and views but that was it. The bathroom was filthy, there was hair all over my towels. The floors in the room were filled with dirt my feet instantly turned black. The crib I requested for my child was disgustingly filthy! The coffee table in the room was dirty too. It seemed nothing was clean… yikes. One wipe on the crib and it was dark brown GROSS. I don’t think I’d stay here again…

Fantastic hidden getaway. The Maya was a great experience; clean, quiet with great amenities. Food was fantastic from Fuego, the on site restaurant. The pool was great, with a bar and hot spa with strong jets. Fire pit and outdoor lounge areas were very inviting. Room was rustic and roomy. I could have been in Cancun, or Hawaii. The Aquarium, Pier Point, Pikes, Catalina Express and Queen Mary all within walking distance. Jet ski rental right out the back door. The best part was that it was very affordable. Truly a great experience all around. Definitely recommend it to travelers or locals like me seeking a quaint retreat. Plan on returning soon!

This place is gorgeous. The views of the harbor at night away beautiful. So many colors reflecting on the water. The food at the restaurant was pretty good and fairly priced. Want a romantic getaway? This is your place.

The front desk staff and bar staff are very professional, friendly, and helpful. The hotel is older but the rooms are very nice. Beds are comfortable. Our AC wasn't working properly and it was pretty warm in our room. Also the bathroom sink drained slow and there is a musty smell in elevator and bathroom. Not sure if it's due to age or being on the water. But overall a nice hotel. I would return

Its alright. The food is okay. Service is a bit rude, especially the restaurant manager. The waiters are lively though. The food however... Yikes. They need to find a better chef and examine their menu. Sorry! As for the conditions? It's a bit run down and dirty. Don't know why.

Loved the location. Service everyone was nice but not accomodating. Daily needed to ask for enough towels for the 4 people in my room. Needed to ask twice for a blanket. We choose our room via the app, 36 hours prior to arrival (choose building closest to pool), when we arrived at 6pm we were told no rooms available in that building and only had 1 room left..which was the farthest building away from the pool. In Rooms beds are comfy, outlets are sparce, balcony nice, wallpaper dirty- especially bathroom, otherwise its averagely cleaned.

Had an amazing experience staying at Hotel Maya. The restaurant on site is amazing and afterwards a walk along the waterfront helps digest your food. If you get too cold, stop by a fire pit to warm up. The pool is very nice. I had a room on the first floor with a little patio that opened to the ground floor which made it convenient to enjoy the fire pit at night! I will be back!

Parking was a nightmare. No where to park so we had to pay extra for valet. Dust everywhere. Stained sheets, pillow cases, and mattress covers. I have photos. You would think with all the money they have throwing away stained sheets would be common practice. No fitted sheets for the mattress, just a regular sheet. There was a piece of candy on the floor near the dresser. Extremely dirty floors. It made our feet black just walking from the bathroom to the bed. Very loud squeaky mattress, just turning over would wake you up because it mimicked the sound of a dudgeon door opening. Loose sockets when plugging in my hair straightener in the bathroom, the socket moved quite a bit. I thought I was going to pull it out of the wall. Outdated furniture. Killed 5 mosquitoes. Had to sleep completely under the covers to avoid getting bit. Rowdy drunk crowd in the hallway at midnight tried to open our door. Someone from another room came out to ask them to be quiet but they were being very rude in response. They eventually moved their party to their room where they continued to be loud till past 2am. We called the front desk 5 times the first 4 times no one picked up. When they finally picked up they sent a security officer to their door and was way nicer to them than he should have been because they just started up the party again after he left. Never going here again! Not worth the money. We left that morning extremely tired with a 4 hour drive back home.

Nice location, we spend one night here with 2 young kiddos (6&7). The hotel room was old, dark, and not well kept. It did the job for one night. They do have a shuttle that gets you to the mall/aquarium area. But they charged me for an extra night of parking ($31) when we used the shuttle the next morning and left the lot by 1pm; defeated the reason for taking the shuttle. Would I stay here again, no!

Really nice, large room with a patio with chairs, on the bay. Coffee Maker w/kcups. Restaurant on-site waterfront dining. Good service at front desk, with fresh baked cookies. Near cruise port. Has a comp shuttle and lots of self parking. Pricey. But we used reward points. Would stay again

The property is absolutely gorgeous, the location itself is a little awkward to get to from. The few things within walking distance are all currently closed (to the public...only...) So not the best place to stay if you are hoping to walk places. On the other hand, the views of the city are just beyond anything else available in town. The pool was not heated but the spa was open so 🤷🏽‍♂️. Past the location, the resort part was well maintained, the rooms were spacious but could definitely use a little TLC. Some elements of the deco were a little mismatched, if Boho Chic is your thing, you'd be happy. Might be a matter of taste. As far as service goes, front desk was fantastic, rooms were acceptable clean, but the rest of the staff could stand to be just a tiny bit friendlier.

This hotel is in a beautiful location. Like all Hilton properties I have visited the rooms are under maintained. The bed had deep valleys from previous guests, it felt like it was past end of life. The bathroom has paint all over its wall paper because they didn’t prep when they last painted the ceiling and never bothered to clean up. The spout on the tub was not firmly connected to the wall. The shower head was covered with calcium buildup. Holes in the wallpaper in bathroom and the main room. You can tell the hotel was beautiful once, but sadly through disrepair it has lost it, and felt more like a motel 6. There was a vagrant next to my hotel room door one night, that removed any sense of safety that the high fences and security guard tried to add.

Stayed here a few months ago the night before a Carnival cruise. Excellent customer service. They were having some staffing issues which limited the food selection but still had some options. Just a short walk across the bridge there were a few places to eat also. Pool was nice, outdoor seating areas had wonderful views and the breeze off the water was great. Nice view of the Queen Mary ship and the light house across the bay. Would stay here again.

I didn’t get to experience this hotel due to a very unfortunate situation that was supposed to be resolved. On Sunday before noon on our arrival we contacted them to let them know we were in extreme traffic due to a major sand storm near the border of Nevada and California that caused the shutdown of 15S. This made national news. We weren’t even able to turn around for 3 hours and the highway was shut for several more hours. I was told the hotel manager understood and would honor our cancellation but it was a 3rd party so I had to contact them first. I did and they contacted me and said they tried to negotiate with them but ultimately said no. This was completely unfair. I called back only for them to say book another dates in the future. I was not about to spend more money when I didn’t even get this.

We really enjoyed the king balcony water view. It was a view of the bay with Long Beach skyline but it was very nice. Overall the room has aged but it was clean. We sat on the balcony chairs for hours and just enjoyed the water. It's what we needed after a couple of days in LA. We picked up an omelet and French toast from Fuego and it was actually pretty good. The room doors are hard latching and are loud. You'll hear everyone in your area going in and out of their room all night long. But we will be back for sure!

This was booked through our agent who also sorted our cruise. Didn't have any thoughts about where or what was booked as we were only staying 2 nights. Location is poor, nothing around it so have to go over the bridge into long beach. We got our car on second day then found out it is 31 dollars a night! On top of the hotel price it's outrageous. Hotel is extremely dated, whoever drew up the plans back in days of yore must of been tripping. Rooms are a good size but very tired & dated, the balcony was a bonus. Reception area has the most weird entrance with a swing door that pivots in the middle so if you have large cases it makes it very narrow, why can't they just open up the whole front with a sliding door? The reception staff were friendly & did their best to sort a room out early seeing as we got off our boat at 8am. Plenty of tea & coffee available for the machine in the room. The waterfront & firepit seating area was nice at least. Really could do with being demolished & a new hotel built in its place. Cannot comment on breakfast or restaurant as we did not use. It barely gets 2 stars but really just 1 & a quarter..

The room was nice typical room by Hilton, nice beds, confy pillows. My only thing is that we had to leave a day early because of an emergency at home. And 2 people at different times said I wouldn't have to pay for that extra day if we would leave before 11am which we did we checked out at 0630 and they still charge me. Which I'm sure they were able to book the 2 rooms that same day. Hopefully something is done. I will keep in touch with the review and let you guys know if it was resolved.christina zuniga rooms 3311/3312

Beautiful hotel! Check in staff was friendly and helpful. Nice rooms, love the ambiance, very clean (no hairs in the bathroom lol thank you) - except the air conditioner thingy was icky so we didn't try to use that at all.. Was fun being close to the water, decent view from our room but didn't have the full view. Didn't get to experience the pool but it looked awesome and theres a big chessboard there!! Shared a couple bites of the filet mignon for Thanksgiving dinner with a few of my friends, yummy! Then we had an omelet from the restaurant for breakfast, was expensive but the portion was large enough to share with two easily so made up for the cost, and it was delicious. Would definitely stay here again if I'm ever in the area and would definitely recommend this hotel. Thank you!

This is a beautiful hotel. I love the way it is away from the hustle and bustle but is only a bike, scooter ride or walk away from the vibration Long Beach life. Bed was comfortable. I felt safe at all times. There was a small glitch with my check-in. I arrived before my husband and the room was booked in his name, so I had to be added on

Not worth the high end price for rooms. Does not have all the usual frills. Nice room. Balcony overlooks water. Room basic and missing wi fi chsrger, internet you had to keep signing in. Note if you choose to add breakfast you get a 19 dollar voucher per person which is hard to keep to with the high restaurant prices. Pleasant stay overall but would not go back. Too high s price for what you get.

The location of this hotel is perfect!! It is a walking distance to Catalina Express Port and Queen Mary. The rooms are nice, spacious, and have a great view. I have been here twice and will definitely return! The warm cookies are a plus and so yummy :-)

Nice hotel and amenities. It was quite noisy though, I think due to design. We were only there 1 night. I would like to go again and enjoy for a couple of days. Beautiful harbor views. Convenient restaurant on site and friendly staff.

I had a delightful stay at the Maya Hotel in Long Beach! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the hotel’s beautiful waterfront location. The view of the harbor was breathtaking, and it added a relaxing and scenic touch to my stay. The staff at the Maya Hotel were incredibly friendly and accommodating. They were always ready to assist with any requests and made me feel like a valued guest throughout my visit. The room I stayed in was spacious, clean, and well-appointed with modern amenities. I especially loved the comfortable bed, which ensured a restful night’s sleep after a day of exploring the city. The hotel’s pool area was fantastic, offering a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the California sunshine. It was the ideal place to relax and take in the picturesque surroundings. Additionally, the hotel’s on-site dining options were impressive. I enjoyed delicious meals at the restaurant, which had a diverse menu and excellent service. The Maya Hotel’s location was also convenient, allowing for easy access to various attractions in Long Beach. Overall, my experience at the Maya Hotel was fantastic, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Long Beach. The combination of its stunning waterfront views, friendly staff, comfortable rooms, and excellent amenities made my stay truly memorable.

Hotel Maya was a fairly nice hotel, however, be prepared for the additional expenses of everything when you arrive. We were not aware of the hefty parking fee per night, and the restaurant at the hotel, Fuego, was also pretty pricey for what it was. We stayed here for two nights since we were going to Catalina Island for the day, so we did not really get to experience the amenities, but they looked nice. The hotel room we stayed in was comfortable, though it was very dimly lit (only 2 lamps, no ceiling light). The bed was comfortable, but the AC was extremely noisy and never turned off no matter what we turned the thermostat to. There was a very limited selection of channels on the TV, not too big of a deal, but the service/internet was something my boyfriend and I both noticed were very poor, and the wifi in our room was not working. Overall, an okay stay but pricey for what you experience!

NIGHTMARE AND I AM IN THE HOTEL BUSINESS! Direct reservation w/property back in May. Wrong room types given, after specific request. Long story short, GM never responded, Dir of FD was going to resolve - up charged me for both rooms. DO NOT BOOK DIRECT, unless you want to be over-charged. Price match? Forget it! Calls outsourced to drive you crazy. Was looking forward to the stay. Go next door to Residence Inn. Better value. Must say that Front Desk staff are very pleasant to work with. I’d hate to see what a potential guest, not in the industry endures. Spare yourself. Hotel Maya, do better!

Sub-par rooms , you have to inquire about bike and seadoo rentals it should be included in amenities list or website info. The breakfast buffet at the restaurant was very good and the servers were pleasant. Too pricey for the room

Quirky hotel in the harbor. You feel in a 1950s resort that feels away from things but you are really just across the water from downtown Long Beach. Rooms are a bit dated but have their charm. The hotel however is very noisy. The various signs that state that parties are prohibited are a sign that things most likely get rowdy. There are many weddings hosted here so do not expect calm on a week end. Note that not all the building are accessible easily without going through stairs.

Large, bright, sorta updated rooms (could use some tech upgrades and MANY more outlets by bed), with imported sand beach overlooking the water, multiple outdoor spaces, nice pool with bar and a great restaurant where everyone in my large group was very pleased with their meal. We had a business meeting on site and the staff was were very accommodating, served delicious catered food and set up an outdoor bar for us. I'm not familiar with the area, but it was a great spot for a team retreat. There's a nice gym on site, jet skis and bikes to rent and it's a quick walk over to town.

Hotel staff are rude. If you can’t support multiple events at once, don’t try and accommodate multiple events. There was a wedding, business conference, and music festival happening at the same time either inside or near the hotel. We were not attending any of them and we’re exhausted travelers being treated like drunk ragers. The hotel was not accommodating and we constantly had to bite our tongue out of fear of causing a scene that would ultimately be our fault because of the color of our skin. Hotel Maya should not be considered a resort with the limited options for dining or activities. The restaurant, Fuego does have great food. I had the salmon, which was cooked really well, but the service was awful.

We stayed at the Hotel Maya for one night to await our cruise departure. I have to say the service and accomodations were outstanding. The staff were excellent and very helpful. They were positive and very considerate of our needs. The rooms were excellent and very clean. The pool area and view were outstanding. The only negative about the entire stay was we didn't have a chance to stay longer. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel was booked and the hotel itself while nice was not up to par in terms of customer service. There was a party going on next door at 2am. My friend called downstairs and they were not able to stop the party. Because of this there was very little sleep. In the morning for checkout a request for late check was requested. Unfortunately they were not able to accommodate. Usually diamond members get till 1pm. Not this hotel 11am ONLY. Everyone seems over worked and underpaid. The simple room for memorial weekend was $500 per night. This hotel will rip you off, and they don’t care. I gave 1 star because it’s like a motel and another star because they answer the phone, but no more stars because they were no help. Everyone that wrote something nice were probably paid to do it or have never been to a quality hotel.

Well, looking into Hotel Maya for a stay as well as an event. What a beauty. 😍 They can be pricey but still can offer options for affordability if you are flexible with your date and time. This place is worth it right on the beach. Just beautiful 😍 they have a man made beach where you can host an event for a small group as well as other spaces that can host 400 guests. This is a no brainier for those who want excellent service, an awesome atmosphere, with relaxing harbor views to boot. Hotel Maya in Long Beach California is the place to be.

We had our wedding reception at Hotel Maya in January 2015. Our guests were mesmerized by the breathtaking views from the venue. The food was delicious, including the smores bar which we got rave reviews for. And the service during the event was amazing. I was especially grateful to the clean up crew who helped me pack items and even provided us boxes to pack the items.

We stayed here for 2 nights. I wanted to cancel our reservations after reading some of the reviews but my husband said no and I’m so glad we didn’t! The place is beautiful. The staff was over the top friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet. The only thing I would say negatively about the room is that it did need more lighting. We had lunch at the restaurant, using our $18 vouchers and had delicious hamburgers. Oh, and the cookies they had at the front desk were wonderful, we got them every day! Yes, we will stay there again.
