Trash everywhere!! Unsanitary! Beach has so much potential with the calm waters but hardly a clear space to set up without being surrounded but trash. Very disappointing.

Alamitos Beach is a hidden gem. Great beach for little ones that can't swim and learning to swim. Waves are very small. People are nice. Tons of suntanners and tourists. Beach is HUGE with lots of room. Plan on a short hike from the incredibly expensive public parking lot. Plan on parking a quarter mile away if you want free parking. Surprising amount of seashells. Never been hassled for bringing the dog. Life guards / police are low key and chill. Great jetty filled with rocks plenty of people fishing. People biking/walking on itself jetty and the beach freeway/ ever lasting boardwalk (bike path with pedestrian walkway). Huge complex they built but never opened for the beach. I eyeball the beautiful unfinished bathrooms and kids play area everytime I go. Come on Long Beach finish that thing already. The permanent porta potties in the parking lot suck.

Nice walk path. Yes, you will see homeless people in the area, but if you don't bother them - they won't bother you. They are building a new public restroom and eating area which is a significant improvement from what was there in the past. There is plenty of parking in the two lots next to the beach.

It's a nice beach area where you can jog and ride your bike and they have volleyball courts as well. It does have a small parking lot so it can be a pain to find parking. Last time I came here it was sort of trashy, but its become cleaner lately so that's a relief.

Wonderful little beach with warm and calm waters, but be aware of stingrays!!!! Read about the stingray shuffle online before wading into the water. My friend got stung today and it is a gruesome wound 😬

The beach could be so beautiful but there is trash EVERYWHERE. I even almost stepped in either human or dog poop walking in the sand. The water was too filthy with trash to even get in. Wasn’t safe to walk without shoes in the sand due to glass and trash.

They have outdoor showers with warm water, i said warm not hot, Great place to chalax

Dirty black water sand drug users all over no police hire all the homeless to clean up or the inmates

I like this beach for walking and for watching the Long Beach coastline. I haven't gotten into the water and don't feel this water is safe to swim in because it's near the marina with boats and factories. However, the water is nice to look at and relax. It's very calming and there's small waves. This beach has a long walking path called "Shoreline Way". It's a good pathway for running, cycling, walking, or rollerblading. There's no nearby parking structure except for the Pike or by the Aquarium. If you park at the structure then you still have to walk a little longer to get to the beach. There are a few random beach parking lots and metered parking in the street. There is free street parking on Ocean Blvd. on certain days. Overall, it's a good beach for exercise and to enjoy a nice sea breeze.

Lots of trash on the beach from homeless people and washing ashore from the ocean. But a 5 star beach if you are homeless and need to pitch a tent or hang out

There was trash everywhere it's so sad to see I would love to put a group together to go help clean it up !!! There was evn pieces of wood with nails sticking out and so much garbage.

Very nice and clean beach! Lot's of parking and beautiful views to take in. Went on a Saturday morning and had no trouble finding parking!
