What a fun airport! I LOVED it because of the convenience of walking out and walking directly to the rental car place. This is what all airports should be like, small and convenient! I enjoyed the outdoors portion. When I walked out, I thought I had already left the airport then quickly realized I was still in the airport facility, it was just uncovered and there were palm trees inside "this portion" of the airport. Small, simple and efficient! โœ”๐Ÿ‘

I am so impressedโ€ฆ I was out of there in 25 minutes, with my rental car and our stuff. We landed about 9 :15 pm; then we were worried about not make it before 10pm and missing our rental car reservation; but everything is so close, that made it easy to make it happened and with my my wife help on gathering our luggage. What a great experience!

Kind of sad to see my favorite little airport growing into a bigger, newer, more hectic airport similar to other airports. Still a great airport, with a lot of charm, pretty efficient, and friendly people. Beer is WAY OVERPRICED! Still preferable to SNA for convenience and friendliness. Prices are many times a little lower that similar flights in/out of Phoenix, and even more so with flights to/from Hawaiian Islands. I love the outdoor areas for travelers to hang out while waiting for flights.

Usually we fly into John Wayne aka Santa Ana but on occasion we will go to Long Beach Airport. It's a little farther to our final destination most times but it's a cool airport. I like the vibe of it and it feels retro. Once you are there it's easy to get in and out of the terminal. It's actually a pretty airport!

Omg!! This tiny little airport is stress-free, not crowded, easy to find the gates, and definitely kid-friendly. If you can catch a flight at the Long Beach Airport, I highly recommend it. I usually catch flights from LAX, which can be so stressful and miserable. But at LGB, youโ€™ll be able to actually relax and enjoy your flight. My daughter and I went to Sacramento, and the flight to and back was terrific! I will continue to try to catch my future flights at LGB! You should too if you can.

Great airport perfect for flying to Hawaii with Hawaiian Airlines, and just recently for a worktrip to Alabama via Southwest Airlines. Even though it's smaller than John Wayne Airport it's much more convenient and accessible. Security check point was efficient with a very short line (had an early flight time). Love how you board the airplanes the old-school way walking around the aircraft gives you a nostalgic feeling of the good old days. This is our go-to airport for all our trips and will continue to use it!

For years this has been my go to Airport! I love how quick and easy it is to go in and out of the parking lot. I know it isn't an international airport, but for domestic, it is easily the best airport ever. Parking has gone up but what hasn't gone up? I love that the parking lot is so close by. Like literally walking the stairs or taking the elevator and you're there to check on in. So quick to get in, short TSA lines. Highly, recommend this airport. One caveat if it's raining, you are going to get very wet. Baggage pickup is literally outside, clearly the airport isn't used to it either or it wouldn't be built that way. They have a few stores for food, snacks and drinks. A few sitting areas and clean restrooms. Also, bring your water bottles because they have those water stations. So quick and easy to travel.

I absolutely love this airport! It's my first time here, and honestly I think from now on, if I can fly out of here, I will. It's much better than going to LAX. Everything is clean and well taken care of. My favorite is the outside area. I can easily take my dog out to relieve herself. In LAX, it's a mission to find somewhere for her to go, and the only one that I could find last time smelled heavily of dog urine. Long Beach is much more well kept, and family/people friendly. On top of that, everyone that works here is even more friendly. Way less people, which helps with anxiety. Check in is quick and easy as well. Just 1000x better than going to LAX. Also, Kudos to Taco Beach! Those breakfast tacos were so good and really hit the spot.

This is definitely the airport you want to visit if you want to feel grateful for your larger and more fancy airport close to home. The one major benefit from visiting this airport instead of John Wayne is that it is much smaller and going through security was super fast! The terminal still felt a little busy but thatโ€™s because it was so small. I would definitely fly out of here again, however I would avoid the winter months. Since they march you outside to walk up a ramp into your plane, I canโ€™t imagine the wet smell that lingers inside the plane when itโ€™s raining outside.

I want to share our experience today at this amazingly kept secret, the Long Beach Airport. We drove from Riverside County to drop my elderly Aunt who is partially blind, my cousin who also has a challenge with walking to the airport to fly back to Texas. They had six heavy pieces of luggage, I was struggling trying to get them and the luggage in the terminal. This nice officer approached us and offered to get us a wheel chair, he helped my elderly aunt and push the chair all the way to check in. I pray the Lord bless this officer for going above and beyond his duty to help those in need.

Went to Long Beach Airport and picked up a 15 passenger rental van from Enterprise for a trip next week. Arrived at around 9am no waiting. Lots of parking for renter pickups in a lot shared by Enterprise and Avid vehicle rentals. Outside of Van clean and no dinks nor scratches. Looks new. Inside, seats are adequate for traveling . Will perhaps take a break after 2 hours of riding. The seat material shows water marks of liquids spilled on most seats. Not very clean looking. Probably a difficult material to keep looking new. Perhaps needs a carpet cleaner type of wet vacuum cleaning. Smell of cleaner aerosol for this COVID 19 era.

From the light blue and white decor to the sand dune landscaping, it really captures the laidback coastal vibe of Southern California. Even though it's a smaller regional airport, they've managed to create a cute, theme-park like atmosphere that makes you feel like you're stepping onto the beach instead of an airport terminal. What I also appreciated about Long Beach Airport is how compact yet convenient it is. With only one terminal and concourses, it's easy to navigate from check-in to security to your gate without much walking. And the parking structure is literally right outside the terminal entrance. This made dropping off and picking up very quick and stress-free.

Very outdated and janky airport. The check-in area is cramped, the walk from the parking to the front is a bit of a traffic mess, there are very few good food options, and the baggage claim is outdoors. They seem to be remodeling most of the airport, but for the time being it's really only good for a cheap/efficient way to fly to Hawaii or fly Southwest

Small airport but so much easier to get in & out of compared to LAX..Baggage claim is literally outside. I flew into here & then Ubered to Anaheim. Was super easy & quick. Only bad thing is that security is super small & 1 line. U literally will be waiting outside.

Small and easy to negotiate! Two exits to deplane, checked bags came through pretty fast, Uber came in less than 2 minutes! #boom #winning

Great airport. Better travel time than LAX (especially to port of LA). Easy drop off/ pick up. Small airport but a variety of food, shopping, indoor/outdoor seating after bag check/TSA area. This is the smallest airport Iโ€™ve ever used. You can walk the length of the entire airport in 20 min. Literally. Itโ€™s clean, nice, charming, and the people are friendly. You board/exit the planes directly from the ground. It was fun and different. IMPORTANT to note: if youโ€™re planning to get to this airport many hours early because a cruise or tour has ended long before your flight, be aware that there is nothing outside of the TSA checkpoint/where you need to check bags. This means few places to sit (a few benches outside) and no amenities except bathrooms and a water station. Thatโ€™s it. FOR CRUISERS: Iโ€™ll never use LAX for Port of LA; this was easier to pick up/drop off and shorter travel time to/from port. But a note about getting to the airport early: We disembarked a cruise ship, called a Lyft, had no prob at drop off, but we were 6 hours early for flight. We sat outside the ticketing building (on the ground) with our luggage for about 2 hours before we could check our luggage and get through TSA. But this didnโ€™t bother us as the weather was beautiful and it was not crazy busy; very calm and relaxing. This was a GREAT airport to use for our cruise leaving the port of LA. Highly recommend. Local driver said itโ€™s easier/faster to get in/out of, and closer to the port. THINGS TO NOTE: - I would choose this every day over LAX. - very small; walk whole airport in less than 30 min. - food was very good. - Device charging tables available. - No lines at all for TSA. - Has water fill stations before/after TSA checkpoint. - comfortable. - no place to dine / relax / charge devices outside terminals (before checking bags). - Lyft/Uber/rental car is close with easy access (less than 5 min walk) directly near luggage pick up and ticketing (where you check your bags). Once inside the the airport, itโ€™s beautiful, the people who work there are incredibly friendly, and there is a small variety (compared to larger airports) of food and beverage optionsโ€”but the variety was plenty for us. Note: they are currently still working on renovating this airport. So Iโ€™ve no idea what offerings it will have once completed. Hopefully more to offer travelers who are 4+ hours early for flights and checking bags (which we couldnโ€™t do more than 4 hours before our flight).

Convenient, friendly staff and short lines. With the newly opened terminal, itโ€™s much roomier and easier to check in. This is one airport where you can actually hang out outdoors before your flight.

This airport has new constructed building. The older building is currently on construction. The terminal has its own building and the baggage claim area is separated as well. Once entering the departure waiting area, there is a lot of people the time i went. Few fast food restaurants options you can choose from.

Great little uncongested airport to fly out of. Unless you are flying Hawaiian Airlines, then you have the experience of total unorganization and congestion! It was total chaos at the TSA checkpoint for all flights, also baggage claim can be a little more Modernized and secure.

A small but efficient airport which embraces the beautiful Californian weather with outdoor transitional spaces. Travellers get to walk outside to get to the plane they are boarding, which is much like the good old days of the commercial air travel industry. The luggage claim belts are also outside under shade which is a refreshing change for travellers waiting to claim their checked bags before heading home or to start their vacationing agenda.

This airport has been so far the best . It's smaller than LAX and I think that makes it much better. It's fast and easy to get around. We landed @ 5:20 and by 5:40 I had my luggage that I had checked in. All in all in my experience it was fast and easy

It's a stress free alternative for traveling into the LA area from the western United States. It's a small airport that still retains it's Art Deco charm in front and is mostly outdoors. The concourse is pleasant with nice amenities and lush plant life and is inviting to arriving passengers. Plus you still get to board the plane from the tarmac just like in earlier times.

It's just ok, nothing great. They're remodeling right now, but it will always be tiny. It's set up pretty poorly. It sucks that us smokers are banished off to one far away ugly far away corner. I'm a considerate smoker and the smoking areas we had before kept us far enough away from others. Our money is worth as much as nonsmokers. The good points are it's way less crowded than most airports, it's totally retro in how we walk outside to old fashioned staircases to board the planes. Pretty cool!

Small airport with just one terminal. Easy to get to and easy to navigate once at the airport. If we have the option, we likely will fly in and out of Long Beach airport instead of LAX in the future to avoid the chaos of LAX. One negative is that the Southwest gates donโ€™t have the numbered signs for passengers to line up so it was pretty disorganized during boarding with people crowding to get to the front.

Great airport...absolutely loved the outdoor area and super quick and easy to navigate through the terminal, security as well as rental car pickup and return. One of our favorite airports now!

This airport was small and beautiful. It was not crowded, and we were in and out. Save time and money and get dropped off at this airport.

I haven't used this airport for over a decade, and it is still an easy in and out airport when coming to LA instead of going through LAX. The airport is still undergoing renovation, but the seating area doesn't have any USB ports, so you'll need to bring a power adapter.

What a nice airport! The vibe feel like walking on a high street. Itโ€™s very chill and no-rush vibe. Food-wise: I went in the early morning but the fridges are empty. They didnโ€™t fill it until 9:30am (3hr gap or more). My flight was also an hour delayed.

Easy, smooth, small airport. You can walk from the car rental place to the airport in less than 5 minutes. They have valet parking. They have a bar, restaurant, store, and several restrooms. They have one charging station for phones, tablets, and laptops. You must have the box no USB ports. This is in the Gates 1-4 area.

All of the staff here is AMAZING!! I flew Southwest, and everyone from the front counter, TSA, and locally owned eateries were so happy and welcoming, I almost feel like I'm at Disneyland when everyone just greets you and is happy as can be. This really made my day. They also have the cutest outdoor seating area.

This is the BEST Airport. It is small and so easy to navigate through. It's clean and just a great airport. It's very convenient for me to visit my family in Long Beach. Have been coming here for years. I refuse to fly into anywhere else!

Seems like a low key and older airport. You have to walk outside and up stairs to board the plane. Parts of the security and waiting areas are outside.

  • 5/5 Osmer H. 1 year ago on Google
The previous trip to Long Beach Airport was a little a year ago. I hardly recognized the place. Larger, sterile, and the movement all happens on the right side of ticketing. Less friendly for dropping off and picking up people. But the niece got this shot of the "beach" as she waited to board her plane. She said she loved this airport. It sure is easier than Los Angeles.

Had a stay in Long Beach and Flying back to Scottsdale. The airport was very clean. Friendly staff. Everything seemed to be in order. Could use more places to be open early for those wanting coffee. Lines were extremely long.

  • 5/5 Jamie L. 2 years ago on Google
Love this airport!! It's mostly outside, super friendly, small, security is easier than most, I'm thinking because it's so small. Ramp to get to airplane is outside.
