Nice area for a daily walk, anytime of the year, around the lake with the dog or just to sit and watch the wildlife go by. The Lake is in front of Kirk Hallam Community Academy and the meadows stretch all the way to the Nut Brook trail. Tracks are well maintained around the Nut Brook trail and are used for walking and cycling. During the wet season the meadows get flooded but again nice to see when frozen and snow is lying on the ground. Once a year the Friends of Kirk Hallam Lake and Meadows put on a Lakeside Summer Fair, where many stalls are put up around the lake for people to look at and buy goods of all different kinds. There is usually a band playing and places for you to eat and drink. Keep an eye out for this event, around the beginning of July, you will not be disappointed

A little cosy retreat for a daily walk. Lots of wildlife all basking on the hill eagerly waiting for some bread 🍞 Lots of seating too ! On the lake live a swan family with 1 cygnet - they get plenty of food and are well looked after . They are regularly seen crossing the road and guarding the neighbourhood 👮‍♂️🦢

Beautiful walk, went with the family. Took my daughter's to play on their scooters whilst we walked the dog. Lots of ducks, swans and geese. The area is maintained and looked after well. Lots of places to sit, bins provided for dog mess. Little to no litter which is refreshing. Highly recommend.

Such a beautiful place to visit especially this time of year when gosling are in plentiful supply to adore. Ample parking although you'd be unlikely to need to stay more than a few minutes as tye birds are used to being fed and soon overwhelm you wanting food! Very pleasant though.

We love this place, it's so beautiful even when it's all soaked 🤭 and you can park on the road free of charge which is a bonus. My doggies love water so they enjoyed splashing in puddles. The field to the left of the lake as you walk down was a bit flooded and most of the time it is muddy to wellies are a must. After that field I usually put the doggies on the lead as there's a canal with fast running water and always get worried that one of the doggies will fall in it. As you cross a little bridge bear to the left and you'll soon see the farmers fields on the right. I've never seen a livestock there but I do know the farmer brings them in from time to time so check before you let your doggies off the lead if they are not good around livestock. You can see all the fields from here so it'll give you a piece of mind and you'll know what to expect. Happy walking!! ☺️

Pleasant walk, local ducks, swans and geese. Area kept clean and tidy. Safe fenced play area for younger children ( if older ones haven't spoilt it !!!)

Nice place to bring the grandchildren and feed the ducks if you have any old bread.

Lovely place for a short walk. The path around the lake is flat but there is a slope to access this from any car parking. No facilities.
