👍👍 We took two 2 year olds and a baby with us. The toddlers loved the fire engine to sit in and pretend to use the hose! The volunteers were very friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our picnic and the children played on the play equipment. People often mention fire, museum, Great, kids, engine, visit, real, friendly,

Great little hidden gem at the back of the garden centre. They've got a real fire truck for kids (and big kids) to get in and out of, three other older fire engines, as well as a large amount of antique fire fighting equipment...even a horse drawn engine! Definitely worth a visit

Nice quiet bit of history. Thks was a little bit difficult to find even with a sat nav. Luckily the locals in te area are friendly and didn't mind pointing the way. The museum is located in the back of the garden centre so you enter through there. There is a building to walk through with alot of things and photos to look at. There is a covered garage with a few trucks to see. The biggest hit was the DENIS truck you could climb in and out of and a small climbing frame. There is akot of section and picnic tables in the area. There looked to be a small cafe but it was closed. You could still get nice treats from the garden centre shop if you wanted though. A nice bite of local and British fireman/ truck history

Set in a very good location, lots of historic firefighting equipment and a few old appliances, staff are friendly and very informative. Not open Monday and Tuesday then open 1000hrs to 1600hrs. Free entry but there is a donation pot should you want to donate.

Great little hidden attraction, run by great volunteers who I could listen to all day talking about the history of the place, how it began, and stories from the past. Great little area for kids to play, and pretend to be a firefighter on the real ex service Dennis Fire Engine on site.

I visited there to donate some photographs of my great grandfather, who was a fire fighter in the late 1800s. It is run by ex firemen and has a lot of fire engines dating back to the same period. It is well worth a visit.

A very well organised museum of fire fighting over more than 100 years. Great exhibits in very good condition with plenty of descriptions - well worth the visit. It's free, but donations are welcomed for this unique exhibition.

Lovely museum. Great to see some really old equipment I'd never seen before. My granddaughter also enjoyed her visit, particularly the fire appliances she could sit in.

Our daughter loved it here, the highlight was sitting in the fire engine, pretending to drive it and pressing all the buttons

A great rainy day trip plus lovely cafe/restaurant next door. Very friendly staff, extra toys out for the kids to play plus a real fire engine to sit in and play. We were made very welcome.

A gem of a find and a museum that deserves a visit. A proud and honourable service with a rich history; this is excellently demonstrated by the displays provided. Many thanks to the staff there that day (Trevor & Paul) for making the visit even more fun by the tales they provided. Especially as we visited in the quiet part of the season. The museum is open almost all year round; spring & summer being when school visits are most frequent. Access is through the Garden Centre, well sign posted.

Great little museum. The GPS sent me to the wrong location though, this museum is located inside Woodlands Garden Centre itself. They have a large fire engine too which my little boy absolutely loved.

We had a lovely day today. Our young daughter who is obsessed with fireman Sam has a great time. Lovely museum with interesting pieces. Do speak to the volunteers, they are so friendly and very knowledgeable. We loved hearing about the difference in uniform and technology. Will be coming back many times over the years. Highly recommended.

Adults might enjoy the museum but the kids will like playing in the fire engine.

Amazing little place to visit with kids. My toddler absolutely loved playing outside. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable if you want to have a little tour of the museum inside. And it is free! Definitely will revisit sometime again!
