I’m Mexican myself, my family wanted to eat out at a place where they would feel more comfortable because they should’ve known the foods. The service wasn’t the best, we got our menus way later and our server quite basically tossed our straws at us and didn’t ask us if we needed anything else, walked away before we even got to say thank you. The place is pretty nice, great design.. the menus look extremely old and ripped up. The options for sauce and stuff is not very Mexican based.. not judging but the workers aren’t even of the Hispanic community, my parents thought it’d be easy for the language barrier but no, mainly English speaking people. The only true Hispanic person I saw was the cleaning lady. I’m a very picky person but I usually enjoy many of the Mexican based restaurants we have been to.. I was very disappointed to be at this place.

Ordered a simple half nachos with cheese and got the most saddest display of nachos, just looked like chips with some cheese on top. Which were the exact same chips we were given before we ordered that had the same cheese we were also given. The chips just looked sad honestly and I was just going to eat it without a word until everyone commented on it, luckily they pointed it out to our sever and got it replaced with what's in the picture which is why I'm not giving it 2 stars, but honestly if you don't want nachos or what you'd think nachos are you're probably fine to eat here. But honestly 1 bad dish hurts the experience pretty badly.

White queso is delicious! Had steak fajitas, which were really good.

Nice restaurant, friendly staff. Probably won’t return. Has nothing to do with the restaurant or staff, just wasn’t for us and that’s okay! Felt the like rice and beans had no flavor and the meat was something I could have cooked at the house, the portions were great though!

Very hard to eat quesadillas with these HUGE chunks of chicken. Tortillas were soggy. Not impressed, sorry.

John our server and Freeney our bartender took wonderful care of us. We are always a bit extra, and they were very attentive and got us everything we needed. We will absolutely be back!

The service was very poor. Even had to get up and get our own menus. Our server was standing in the back of the dining room talking with other servers. Was about 10 minutes before we were waited on. Then they added 4% to the ticket for using a debit card. Food was not that good. The quality of the food and service is not worth it. Will not be back any time soon.

Our waiter was incredible (Batman)…the food was some of the best Mexican food I have eaten! So glad we took time to pull off the road and venture into this eatery! Next time I am back down that way…I’ll make time to eat there again!

Everytime we come here the service sucks! Wanted to give them another shot today, showed up around 1:15. Waited 10 min for the waitress to come over and take our drink order. She never came back, the food was delivered by a.kitchen staff. She came to the table twice the entire time we were there. I had to holler to get her attention after she left the table next to us to ask for hot sauce refill and tortillas for my husband's flameado. She never came back and we had to go to the hostess stand to pay our ticket. Won't be back.

Great food and a festive ambiance! The queso is must have. Salsa is just right. Very good chicken fajitas and Freddie’s bowl. Will be back for margaritas!

First time having been to El Sombrero. Went inside to place to-go order as not available to do so online. Place was crowded, even in the last hour of operation, mostly I believe from recently opened here. Due to this, parking may be hard to get at times and may even have to park on the street. We were directed to go to the drive thru as it would be faster service for to go orders. So went through drive through and service seemed pretty quick. Chatted with staff a little while waiting at window, very friendly. Food wise, it was average, not bad but not wowing me either. Queso is "famous" here and felt as was average, other places may have better queso.

Food is great, but they are not where they need to be on take out. Called 11 times and couldn’t get through to anyone, had to drive across town just to place a takeout order. Had to wait 15 minutes at the drive through to order then come back 20 minutes later to pick it up. El som needs to step it up on the carry out front and hire more people.

The food is very good. I feel the margaritas that they market and brag about over the past couple of months have become more of a non alcoholic drink. The flavor has remained somewhat consistent, but the amount of alcohol that is in the drink has dropped considerably!

I had photos of the great dishes that we got, but I don't keep them forever and Google took a long time to ask for a review. Sorry I can't post pictures. Beers are very expensive here. If a beer is going to cost the same price or more than the meal, the customer should be notified. I docked a star for that.

First time to dine here so I tried nachos made with chicken, beef, Queso & beans.. Waiter said “they’re a LOT” but that didn’t scare me because I was ‘hangry’. When they came - there WAS a mountain of them ($16?) & I needed 2 go boxes for leftover. Will order again when with the FAMILY. Second time we ordered guacamole & white Queso dip, & Speedy Lunch offering. Every thing was delicious

The food and service was excellent! However, it was extremely cold. The air made our food cold, the waiter tried to turn it up or I don't know what, but it stayed cold. We ended up leaving. There were two other tables in our section, they were for too

It took them a long time to serve our entrees, but they kept us going with chips and drinks. We just had to try the white queso. My granddaughter couldn't get enough. Next time, we order the large! We had fajitas, quesadillas, and a combination plate including cheese enchiladas. Everything tasted fresh? Highly recommend!

Fantastic food and fantastic service. Justin took great care of us. Little on the pricey side but we’ll worth it.

Service was great! We got the tatted guy with ear gauges as our waiter and he was awesome. Our only problem was the food was very bland no seasoning on anything. Also the prices are crazy higher than usual Mexican restaurants

1st time in the new locale. Cool, authentic atmosphere. I guess I looked like I needed a Bloody Mary, cause the server (also a top notch bartender) came over & told me so. Then told me about this new "mix" he was experimenting with & wanted my opinion. I said sure, bring it! Y'all! That's the BEST Bloody Mary I've EVER had, I swear! Instead of salt on the rim, he used Tajin Seasoning which added to the smoky, spicy flavor. Tried to steal the recipe but he wasn't budging. Wonderful with the lunch steak fajitas & queso! I can see weekly visits in my future!

The service was impeccable! Didn't get his name, but the young man who was our server was fantastic. Atmosphere, not bad. The food however, was bland. Overall, for a relatively quick meal that gets the job done...it's ok.

Generous portions. We could not finish our food. The salsa is amazing! It is a little pricey. We paid $36 for 1 appetizer, 1 shrimp quesodilla plate, and 2 soft drinks. The food was good for the most part. I think the guacamole could have more been seasoned.

My family & I went this past Friday. It was packed but our wait was short & our food was amazing. Our waiter was awesome! Very in tune with us needing refills & speedy with taking our order & getting it turned in. Will definitely be back. Only issue we saw was that our booth was dirty & the floor underneath it was wet from a drink being spilt.

Best salsa I have had in a very long time. Jalapeño Tree, On the Border, Papasita's, Tele's.... none of those places some close to the delicious taste of the salsa here.. I had the steak and chicken fajitas, white queso dip and loooots of salsa!!!

I love this place but last time we went the music was blaring so loudly we could barely hear our server. The food was tasty but also tasted rushed. The bell peppers in my quesadilla and the tortilla itself were undercooked and the shrimp were over cooked. We will be back again though, it's usually great!

Amazing atmosphere and even better food. Our servers name was CJ and he was great, he recommended the Papa Nachos and they were outstanding. My only complaint would be the coke machine’s carbonation was broken causing the cokes to be flat but things happen and I don’t blame the restaurant. Even with the coke issue CJ was attentive at trying to fix it/ get us something else. I give the experience 5 stars. Best TexMex in Longview easy.

Our server was very responsive kept the chips refreshed and continually filled our drinks. We were disappointed with the spinach dip. There was very little cheese and a whole lot of spinach and it was long and stringy not chopped up like we would hope. Outside of that everything else was fine. We will not be ordering the spinach dip again however.

The food here is absolutely delicious. It came highly recommended by several people so we decided to give it a chance and are so glad we did! Service was good, no complaints. Prices are a tad higher but definitely worth the quality and flavor!

Our server was AWESOME! Restroom was clean. Food was delicious as we're the drinks. I've never had a Quesadilla as big or delicious as the one they served me. Their chips and salsa was delectable also. I will be returning. HIGHLY recommend this place!
