Our check-in experience provided by the check-in staff was absolutely unpleasant, contradictive to what I would expect from a Marriott hotel. Let's just call her "Fran". We arrived at the hotel shortly after 9 PM, which cannot justify Francisca's decision on providing a "I could not care less" attitude. Some specifics: - after finding my reservation in her computer, Fran said “I need a credit card". I thought the credit card would only be for incidentals, so I asked to confirm "this is just for incidentals, right?" She said yes. I would expect a qualified staff member to mention the incidental when asking for the credit card, and I would not be the one to mention it. - after giving us the room key, it seems that Fran just expected us to leave. She did not give any explanation of the hotel’s amenities, such as the location & hours of the gym, the pool, on site restaurant, etc. This is very unusual, since every other Marriott hotel that I have stayed, including those just for one night, the check-in staff always made sure that I understood the amenities that I was getting with my room rates. - as having stayed in the neighboring Hilton hotel (Jamaica Bay Inn) at Marina Del Ray, I expect that hotels around the marina would likely provide resort perks or credits, so I inquired about it. I asked "are there any complimentary resort services?", Fran replied with one word & a blunt look in her face, "NO". I reiterated, "as a hotel at the marina, don't you offer daily credits for beverages or food?", again we got a blunt "NO". So we thought okay. But at the check-out, I noticed the $10 destination fee charge and the piece of paper in our room key holder listing all the perks that were included within the $10 fee. Clearly the fee included $10 food and beverage credit, which we could have enjoyed at the hotel bar and spent more on drinks & tips benefiting the hotel restaurant staff.

I am a loyal courtyarder, but most of you know that. This CY is a bit expensive compared to others but it does have some really nice features. For me it's that it is 5 minutes from my daughter's house. I love the rooms with balconies. Check in staff was great and the food at Brizo was terrific.

Marriott Marina del Rey proved to be an excellent and well-maintained hotel. The modern rooms with spacious bathrooms and refreshing showers were a treat, making the stay truly comfortable. The captivating view of the marina added to the overall appeal of the hotel, providing a serene and picturesque experience. However, the only drawback was the parking situation. Unfortunately, it was not free and set at a relatively high price of $50 per night for valet service. Considering the additional tipping expenses, the parking fees can quickly accumulate and become a significant expense during the stay. Despite this, if you're willing to overlook the parking costs, Marriott Marina del Rey is undoubtedly a top choice for a clean, modern, and enjoyable hotel experience, especially for those seeking a captivating marina view.

The location is great because it's right off of the marina. There are water taxis right behind the hotel. The staff is friendly. This does have a party/club vibe on the deck between 5p and 10p.

I really liked this hotel a lot. It’s in a beautiful area overlooking the Marina - it’s nice to walk along the water, lounge on the 2nd floor deck with the bar and restaurant, or and I loved that the hotel included kayaking (and stand up paddle or biking) as activities in the $10 resort fee. We had a great time kayaking and felt very taken care of by Dexter. The room was standard and clean (there wasn’t any liquid body soap remaining in the shower, that was the only issue) and there’s also a cafe onsite. We loved that The Hive was within a 5 min walk to get vegetarian food and yummy drinks - we went there multiple times. It’s also just a 30 min walk from erewhon on Abbott Kinney.

Rooms are well kept. Keep in mind that the hot water takes a while to come on. I suggest Turing on the water and let it run a bit before getting in. I only ate at the restaurant downstairs during happy hour. The tacos were delicious. Location- not much other food options within walking distance. ... maybe a 15 to 20 mins.

The Marriott courtyard is a newer hotel. Certainly less than 5 years old. It was very clean and the rooms were nice. The view from the deck of the Brizo's restaurant was absolutely beautiful.

Interestly... I go to check out the view from the balcony at 2:00 a.m. ... I hadn't gone on to the balcony yet. Nevertheless, the sliding glass door was already unlocked. As I begin to slide it open, I heard the room next to us quietly lock theirs... 🤔
