Spectacular ocean and mountain views with an unparalleled sunset. Make it a point to visit the north side of the park, as there are many coves and the beach is not rocky, as is the south side. Park across PCH in the parking lot and walk under the highway to the beaches.

Truly loved it here. The flower fields, lighthouse and rocks are so pretty. Be careful walking along the rocks as the waves get unexpectedly bigger occasionally and could sweep you away. Parking is free but limited along the road.

I went camping with my hubby for the first time. I got to use all my camping equipment. It was so fun, there are lovely campgrounds, with firepits and tables plus bathrooms are close by. Beach is across the st, with tide pools, caves to explore and many paths to walk bike and hike.

Great park in Malibu to see wildflowers while they last. Not a lot of shade so bring plenty of sunblock and water. Fairly steep climb at spots so hiking sticks are useful. The camping spots at the park look great with most having shade trees and easy walk to the beach.

Been in Los Angeles all my life and never knew this place existed. Lovely day. Perfect cove with lots of children to watch discover new things. Parents helping tip over rocks to see the hidden crustaceans and other crawlers. We caught 2 octopuses and gave to the kids to get "inked" on!! We had a relaxing blast :)

Amazing beach! Clean and wonderful parking, trails, and beach with optional campsites. We enjoyed an afternoon walking along the beach and enjoying the trails and views from up high. We loved climbing the rocks! There was a lot to see and enjoy and folks could spend a long afternoon or morning here swimming, walking, and enjoying a picnic. The staff were friendly, too!

Great camping ground. We'll taken care of and beautiful. Walked over to the beach where we got to see ocean life in the tide pools exposed die to morning low tide. This is a protected beach. Does not have beautiful white sand but rocks and other wonderful things to explore

Absolutely gorgeous gorgeous campground! We were there for the weekend celebrating my brother's birthday. It was awesome getting to spend time with family and being forced to unplug while at the campsite. Don't worry, you get reception if you walk to the store/front of the campground and while you're at the beach ;). Speaking of! The walk along the cliffs is beautiful! There are areas that lead down to little coves you can spend time at. We had to head to dog friendly beach areas though because we did have our pup, but the beach where the dogs can be is the least rocky and still a lot of fun! We also did a hike while we were there. It was a great way to start our morning. I highly recommend staying here! There's lots to do!

Great hiking trail, esp when it's 100 degrees in LA. We came here around 6pm and it was about 71 degrees. Also, there weren't a lot of people. It is very quiet and peaceful and clean, right off the PCH. They also have a camping site and a beach. Parking is $3 an hour. You can park along the PCH and walk in. Beautiful scenery as you can see from my photos.

This was a fun place to spend the afternoon. My kids enjoyed the tide pools, sea caves and climbing around on the rocks. Be sure to visit during low tide so that the sea caves are exposed.

A great place for families to gather and spend the day at. There are shower facilities as well. There’s a dedicated campsite should you want to campout. There’s free entrance and parking for military personnel (just be sure to bring your identification). There was a lifeguard on duty. Beach is kept nice and clean as well.

Getting down to the beach is terrifying. Very steep cliffs and narrow trail. I loved the beach itself but I have 4 children and wouldn't try it again with them. There were hardly any beaches that let dogs in so we were limited.

It is off PCH, far from many of the popular beaches so it not crowded! Lots of fun activities to do with kids. From playing in the water, building with rocks, finding sea creatures in the tide pools and exploring a cave! Get their early, parking is pay by machine or parking attendant. The machine takes exact change only and the parking attendant takes debit cards. Enjoy!

Fantastic Campground with access to a great little beach. Just a short drive from the larger Malibu state beaches. Serene and family fun all in one!

Easy access to beach and Great for the little ones to play on the beach. Be sure to explore with friends as these shorelines In the rocky areas can be somewhat challenging to navigate to the water.

Absolutely breathtaking views. Great beach area for the kids. Park staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a faucet to get the sand off your feet. Would be nice if they had showers.

A really fun beach to see tide pools and a rocky shore. We saw a variety of sea birds while we were there. The water wasn't great for swimming or wading, but the shore was fun to explore.

Nice clean campsite. There are water facets for cleaning throughout the site. The restrooms are clean and showers are token operated so bring some cash for the token machines next to the restrooms (2 mins/$1) or purchase some token at the check in booth with cash or card. There are three general stores throughout the campground and they have the basic things for camping and coffee. They also take credit cards. We camped at site 88, it was shaded but rocky like most sites next to the riverbeds. I noticed the sites in the middle are less rocky. There are fire pits here. There’s a beach access under the highway which is walkable. Quite beach in the morning.

Awesome beach with a small campground across the road. We were there when the tide was in and the wind blowing. It was fun watching the surfers 🏄‍♂️ 🌊

What a beautiful drive on the 101 then down Mulholland. It was very windy but still such a beautiful day. Lots of room to walk your dog and bask in the sun and beauty of the ocean. People were friendly too. North from North Central approved!

What a beautiful camp ground! The Sycamore trees are so big and shady and you go right under the road to the beach! And there’s also a dog beach as well! Love this place. Can’t wait to come back.

Great to see tide pools. My kids were able to see sea anonome and other wildlife. We also saw several dolphin pods. My boy enjoyed running in and out of the water. But caution the water can get some heavy currents as the day goes by.

I've been visiting Leo Carrillo State Park my whole life and my mom has been visiting it most of her life. We try and go every year. It's a tradition in my family that we all love and enjoy. With any luck I will continue to visit Leo Carrillo for the rest of my life. Some of my best memories are at Leo Carrillo and this place has a lot of sentimental value to me and has been a huge part of my life. I hope anyone who decides to visit can find similar experiences.

Incredible place to camp with the family! Family and dog friendly. Clean restrooms. Hot showers. Beautiful beaches up front, and mountains behind. Tons of trees and shade. A camp store. Hookups for trailers & rv’s.

i recently found out about this beach, not realizing how close it was to El Matador Beach. Both have breathtaking views. leo carrillo is known for a few movie locations such as the karate kid and the famous craft movie. the beach is nice, not too many people on a Sunday. there's also some cool caves just make sure to check online for the tide schedule.

Possibly the most beautiful park on the ocean close to Los Angeles. There are two big beaches (north and south) which are perfect to surf. The view is breathtaking and there are few people around unlike at Malibu beaches. Loved every single moment here!

Incredible natural beauty. Parking lot is in shambles, but just adds a layer of commitment to see the awesome nature around you.

Beautiful place, lots to see. Make sure you check what time low tide is before you visit so that you can see and experience the most.

2nd time I've camped here with my family and dog and it was an amazing time! The electricity was a huge bonus, no more using the inverter 😎 The staff are great, the store literally has everything you need and the comfort and safety of the place just make the experience that much better!

Amazing. Its Chilly, bring a sweatshirt and a blanket to sit on. You can find the cave if you walk along the trail at the top. Dont try to walk along the beach to find it.

Had the whole beach to myself . Great camp site fire pit. They did not take my Sr. Passport that allows you to enter with out paying. Supposedly it's to be used at State parks . Cost 62.00 to stay.

I only spent time along the beach due to the park being "closed" from recent flood damage. The beach and rock formations are beautiful. It's a clean and interesting area. I look forward to visiting again when it back in full swing.

Awesome. Adding electric hook-ups makes it the best State Campground around. I wish now they would open the store during the week In Winter time
