This place has amazing pizza, and GREAT design. Don’t let the word vegan throw you off….. it is some of the best pizza I have had to date! Congratulations and thank you to the owners, for getting this place open during such tough times. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE!

The Sicilian pie is perfectly airy, crispy, and flavorful. Truly impressive! My father lives in deep Brooklyn where they still speak Italian in pizzerias and this is as good as anything I’ve gotten there. The sauce is tangy and not overly sweet and the pesto is strong, as it should be. If Jonathan Gold (RIP) were still alive this is the type of place I’d want him to visit to understand the depth of the vegan food that he was apprehensive of and rarely experienced.

Great vegan pizza, when I first came, I couldn't believe that it's all plant-based. We had Detroit-style pizzas and Buffalo slice. The almond cheese they make themselves tastes really delicious. Worth to try if you're close. They also have very healthy sugar-free & tasty soda.

update - I'm disappointed that they have added dairy and now meat after earning their positive reputation as a vegan place. There are too many all-vegan places in LA not to go elsewhere now. ============= Just go. Not only will you eat the best (or some of the best) pizza in your life, but you'll chat with one of the employees and he'll show you his Charlie Kelly tattoo, which, unbeknownst to you, will help manifest Charlie Day himself in a performance of "Dayman" that night at the Portugal the Man show at the Hollywood Bowl. Okay, maybe that will only happen to us, but in all seriousness it was a dope place with incredible food. The Sicilian (add seitan) and garlic knots were unreal.

Honestly, first time I walked into this place I was skeptical; but I am now a believer. You know when you walk into a place and you try the food and you can tell there's some kind of passion, attention, and love going into the food. That's this spot! Let's not forget the mention the great vibe at this spot. Everyone seems so friendly and upbeat the decor in this spot is fun to look at if anything else. The pizza though! The PIZZA! So I had three slices the person at the register got my order wrong but I believe it wasn't a mistake it was a happy accident. I got a regular cheese slice, a white slice, and I was supposed to get a pesto but she accidentally gave me a Detroit slice those square thicker ones. In her defense I think the girl at the register made the mistake because I asked about the square slices before making my selections, but let me tell y'all something every single slice was incredible. My kid is a picky eater (probably like every other kid) but damn he loved all the slices except the white one but he didn't try it because it looked like too much for him. It had like everything bagel seasoning on the crust which completely blew me away. This is a must try spot.. I am a firm believer that Hot Tongue Pizza has a pizza for everyone. Vegans, vegetarians, carnivores (trust me you'll love it) and even for the gluten free peeps. Definitely coming back to this spot

Absolutely the best vegan gluten free pizza I’ve ever had. I love that they don’t use soy and make their own cashew based cheese. I had the Detroit pizza and it was so delicious. Highly recommend for anyone looking for this odd combo of gluten free and vegan.

One of the best restaurants I have ever visited. Delicious pizzas!! The flavors are just wow. Gluten free pizza is very good also, one of the best I have ever had. You can get pizza by the slice which is so convenient.

Order vegan pizza by the slice. Fast, friendly service. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommend if you have a little sister who is vegan this week.

Best pizza I've EVER had in LA. I'm not vegan, but the vegan pizza here hits better than places that use regular cheese. They sell by the slice too. You can tell with every bite, that these guys are only using the highest quality of ingredients 10/10

Highly recommend Hot Tongue! They have slices, but nothing beats a fresh whole pie. I loved the Sicilian. The kale Caesar is great too!

I wanted to love this place but it was a bit of a flop for me. I thought I heard it was all vegan but I was wrong. Which is fine but did give less options for the slices, which is what I came for since I was alone. I'm glad I checked because I almost got the pepperoni. Anyways, I got a Sicilian slice that was Detroit style. The crust was great and had the perfect crunch. The price was fair and the service was nice. However, the taste really fell flat for me. It just really seemed to lack flavor and wasn't super impressive. I've had a lot of vegan pizza and this one just didn't do it for me.

I didn’t have a chance to visit while they were fully vegan, so when they made the switch, I knew I had to go show their Vegan Options some support. WHITE PIE ended up stealing the show and becoming one of my fave White Pizza in city. We opted to not get mushroom on it and the flavors reminded me of a fugazzeta pizza in Buenos Aires. Next time maybe extra onions. That Everything Bagel on the crust was special. VEGAN PEPPERONI & VEGAN RANCH are made in-house. The art and MF Doom looking over the place sets the vibes for this pizza joint. Visit your favorite vegan restaurant often, purchase the vegan options at non-vegan spots, because you never know when some of your favorite dishes might be gone. The food world is tough. In the kitchen or behind the camera, support those that don’t stop chasing their dreams. Happy Munchies, 🌱 #aVeganAndHer

Got couple by the slice vegan pizzas for snack. Pizza had very rich tomato flavors and crispy bread. One of the best vegan pizzas I have tried. Would love to try different flavors next time

I'm going to keep this short, as this place is a must.😁 This was the best Vegan pizza I've ever had and it was incredibly fresh, even for ordering all slices. I love that they don't use fake cheeses and after over a decade Vegan, this was such a treat. The staff were friendly, informative and it's a cute little classic pizza joint. I will be back a 100 more times if I can, absolutely satisfying! Thank you for existing. 😘

Best vegan pizza in LA!! The Sicilian slice is out of this world. Our server was the nicest guy ever. 10/10 recommend to anyone.

Nothing short of amazing. This is seriously some of the best pizza I've had in my life, and I lived in NYC for 8 years. My favorite is the Buffalo, and they do gluten free really well. I will never go anywhere else, and am always looking for a reason to go past hot tongue so I can stop for a slice or three.

I've had pretty much all the vegan pizza in Los Angeles. MANY involve a cheese that will not be named. Love vegan brands but not so crazy about some plant based cheeses. Hot Tongue makes their own cheese, sauce, crust, even ranch dressing. I have to say Hot Tongue is an absolute favorite. They. also give service with a smile and are so accommodating to custom wishes. Genuinely nice people running this place and some of the best plant based pizza in LA. DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!

Been to hot tongue several times, it's become one of our faves for pizza in general. The arrabiata is my fave, if you like a little spicy sauce, definitely try it. The wife loves the sicilian and square.

Pumped to find this place! Amazing GF fried cauliflower and the best deep dish GF pizza I’ve had, and they have it by the slice! Can’t wait to go back!

Did a too good to go pick up. Got 2 random slices that needed to be heated up at home. Tasted pretty good for it being vegan. I was surprised vegan pizza could taste good.

SO happy to finally have an all-vegan pizza place in town! We tried the Sicilian, Pepperoni, Buffalo and Detroit, and they were all incredible!! We brought the Brussels home as well as the Cazador breakfast sandwich, which is only offered on weekends until they run out. Even the thick crust pizzas have a satisfying crunch to the outer layer. The cheese is YUM!! Everything is made in-house. Wonderful hospitality as well! We enjoyed sitting at the bar area and watching the magic happen!
