Would love to give this place a good rating - drinks were phenomenal, dug the vibe, fun crowd, but I had an extremely negative experience with the bartender working there Saturday night. The pinball machines ask you to download an app to pay to play them if you don’t have cash on you (see picture attached). The app is a scam and took $5 of mine before I gave up and realized it wasn’t working properly. When I approached the bartender to bring this up casually (after already spending $75+ there on drinks, we weren’t exactly freeloading), he indignantly kept cutting me off saying “I don’t know what you’re talking about, there’s no app we use for those, I don’t know what you’re talking about.” And that was that. It wasn’t as if I was being confrontational or bothering him during a super busy time either. It was totally uncalled for and disrespectful. For that reason alone, I can’t recommend this place. I don’t even care about getting my $5 back, but the attitude from the staff was something Slipper Clutch should acknowledge and apologize for.

I’m not punk rock but I certainly felt more at home here than the bar in front. My friend and I are ex-goth girls and find it hard to find a bar with music we even remotely like. This place was like going back to our early 20s, kinda seedy, kinda rough, no fancy expensive drinks but it was a breath of fresh air compared to the cookie cutter, hip-hop playing bars that you usually find. We played Dolly Parton pin-ball and a Pac-man table top. I drank a Pabst and then a teeny tiny Highlife. Had it been our first stop of the night, we’ve have stayed longer but definitely going back for some old school fun!

The best bar in LA, I've never had more fun than at this place. Always playing Rancid, punk atmosphere and lots of space.

Love this bar! Killer vibe, amazing music, friendly crowd. Pool table, patio, and old school games. Kate the bartender is super friendly - nice to see her back! SO glad it lasted through quarantine and all the closures. 🙏🖤🤘

Didn't know there was a dope pool house and arcade in my own neighborhood. Love the ambiance , the bartenders and the beers.

Awful place, they work with people who spread hate like trash Hoodcore LA. Would give them half a star if I could. Absolutely would not ever attend a show here unless they stop working with them

I love a grimey punk bar don't get me wrong, totally my type of place but the whiskey drink I got tasted like old root beer. I wouldn't go here for drinks but I still think it's a cool place.

Cool place located in the back of another bar who's name escapes my memory, bar downstairs and upstairs with occasional live music. Try the highball.

These places are amazing. Highballs is connected. Different, look but still chill fun vibe. There's affordable drinks, great service, Pinball machines 25¢ and 1$ pool tables. Excellent!

Be warned, it's going to be loud. Reasonable priced drinks, fun atmosphere, and pinball.

I've been here an hour and I already know it's going to be a go to place downtown. Great music selection, punk and old school hip hop. Fun games like pinball, pool, bocce ball. Nice smoking balcony and patio. Well made simple drinks at a good price. Friendly bartenders too!

I am just raving bout this place.My fave seat here is at the bar. Their drinks taste and look so mad. Its highly pleasant for me to spend time here. I party so well here with friends.

Went with a couple of friends and had a blast! Alex is a great Bartender. Pool tables and a little back patio top it all off.

Looking forward to returning with my friends. Prices are decent. Feels like a place in Los Angeles I liked.
