Loved the whole experience. The service was extremely helpful and friendly. Started with the creamed herring. The plate was filled with pickles, radishes, olives, and of course the creamed hearing. It also comes with rye bread, but since I was going to follow up with a pastrami sandwich I opted out of the extra. The pastrami was the crown jewel however. The rye bread was fresh and soft with the contrasting crunch of the crust. The pastrami was the Jewish equivalent to Texas BBQ, just the right amount of fat with a great bark. A Los Angeles institution that you just have to try.

West Coast, East Coast, it doesn’t matter. A good deli is a good deli and this is one of the best. Consistently outstanding!

Only been there once and had the pastrami sandwich on rye bread, it was delicious! Comes with a house made pickle that was very crisp and tasty. Clean restaurant and very friendly staff. Parking lot is close to the entrance. Try it, I think you will like the food and service.

If there is a word to describe this place, it's an institution. Walking into the restaurant felt like walking into a place stuck in time. And it was good that we came around 10 in the morning, so we got seated right away. As we came out around noon, there was a small line of hungry customers waiting for seats outside the door. Our server Frank helped us pick the food, and he did it well. The world-famous number 19, pastrami with Swiss cheese and coleslaw, was a solid pick. The pastrami was very flavourful, generous in portion, and contrasted well with the cool coleslaw. I also ordered pastrami and chopped liver sandwich. The liver added a new and interesting texture to the sandwich, and would entice liver lovers. The pastrami chilli cheese fries came highly recommended, but to be honest, we found it quite passable of not for the tender morsels of the pastrami on the top. We found that one order of sandwich, which came in two halves, may be enough for two people, if they're not too hungry. Keep that in mind when you are ordering food for the table. I'm not a big sandwich connoisseur, but I think this restaurant will be a place worth revisiting whenever I'm in LA.

The best pastrami I have ever had. The pastrami and the brisket melt in your mouth. Definitely the best deli I have ever been to. The have a parking lot just for the deli up the street so check your GPS when you arrive and save your ticket for validation.

Amazing food & service, 5 stars! I would recommend Langer’s Deli to anyone in LA. I ordered the #19 — their classic Pastrami sandwich (Pastrami, Swiss cheese, & cole slaw)— and it was incredible, hands-down the best I’ve ever had by far. The service was excellent— I sat down at the bar as soon as I arrived, and my waitress was incredibly kind, attentive, quick, and friendly to me. The restaurant was very clean, and my meal came out fast. Absolutely will be going back! (They accept credit cards; there are plenty of metered street parking spots right around the restaurant).

Langer's Delicatessen-Restaurant is an absolute gem that deserves every one of its five stars! Without a doubt, they serve up the best pastrami in the nation, and their pickles transport you back to the traditional, authentic flavors of yesteryear. The french fries are perfectly fried, adding a delightful crunch to any meal. What truly sets Langer's apart is their commitment to convenience, with curbside pickup always being a seamless and convenient experience. If you're in search of an unforgettable deli experience, look no further than Langer's – it's a true pastrami paradise!

Ordered a basic pastrami on white bread. Untoasted. (Never want to dry out the meat.) The meat was so delicious and tender, I left the bread and cheese on the plate. The meat didn't need mustard--anything; it was that good! Pricey but worth it.

I used to come here often back in the time when I was in the town. I always ordered a full pastrami sandwich beforehand and was ready by the time I arrived to pick up. The bread was very soft and crunchy at the same time. The pastrami was delicious, full of flavor, and soft. This place has the best pastrami in the whole state. There is other foods also you can try I am sure it wont be disappointing at all.

Free car park on the 7th avenue which is free for Langer’s customers, don’t forget to get a stamp when paying at the cafe. We tried number 19 classic pastrami sandwich and brisket which were both amazing. Took a away a slice of cheese cake ($10). All came to $66 for two plus a coffee.

Such a special landmark near downtown LA. The service is great and old school vibes make you feel at home. The hot pastrami sandwiches are all amazing!! With cheese, sauerkraut, Russian dressing, rye bread…However you like it the meat is so yummy!! The potato latkes with jam!! Matzah ball soup and all their yummy cakes!! Must try.

I enjoyed a pastrami sandwich and fries from the beloved aged establishment. The staff is friendly, quick and efficient. I give Langer’s 3 stars due to the bread not being toasted, something I believe every classic pastrami sandwich should have. The fries weren’t seasoned and perhaps steak fries could be a better fit for a deli setting. They were out of ice cream, so I couldn’t try a malt. I can tell this place was a hit back in the day. It’s not a favorite but added to my list due to the lack of deli culture in Los Angeles. Still worth a try 😉

Been going here for years. Cannot fault folks for pandemic and lack of dine in service but awful curb side business customer service is lacking. However, my real issue is the food. The quality gets worse with each visit. These $20 plus sandwiches are filled with kraut and toppings, lack of meat. Corned beef and pastrami tender but no ones pays this money for bread and condiment sandwiches. I spoke with manager prior to Covid but servings have gotten worse since. I will admit people come from every direction for authentic deli food. But it is such a disappointment to drive 45 minutes and pay over $50 for 2 sandwiches and 1 order of fries for basically bread! Where is the meat? Have to give customers what they are paying for not condiments and fluff. Way too expensive for quality and quantity!!

One of my favorite iconic places for dinning in Los Angeles, perfect for lunch. Right out of the gate, today's visit was delicious and next time I'll have #19 Hot Pastrami on crunchy rye, and hot apple pie with a scoop of ice cream,😉. Yes, I'm already planning my next meal here. The French au jus dipped Brisket of Beef sandwich is top! .. melt in your mouth kind of experience. Balanced out well with a side salad and room for a shared Strawberry Cheesecake, absolutely the best I've ever had! Our server was fantastic, 😍 wonderful disposition. I really enjoy bringing family and friends here when visiting Westlake, Macarthur Park, or any of the museums or just because you want a delicious Sandwich. Come after the lunch rush, where Langer's has it's own parking lot one block away.

A fine restaurant in every Department. One can expect to be treated special by a great, upbeat attentive staff. I had experienced some very fine customer service and i complimented the Manager. He replied to me that he never wants any customer to leave unhappy and i myself adapted that as my mantra. The quality and freshness of the food and bakery are awesome and i am very happy that you are providing a great service for that area. Thank you

Love this classic 1947 opened institution. Pastrami & corned beef are excellent here in whatever sandwich or combination that you choose to order either in. Don't forget the potato pancakes if you're able to add to your order. The fact that they validate parking on their own lot located on Westlake & 7th is unique does the area. Recommend a stroll in MacArthur park after your meal; time permitting.

Great breakfast and coffee. I had the bacon & eggs plate: 3 eggs, 6 slices of thick bacon, home fries & wheat toast. Hot green salsa available on request - I recommend it! The coffee is flavorful & will wake you up. Real coffee. Great servers too!!

Such a great atmosphere. We we're greeted by who I assumed was the owner a very friendly lady who asked us how our experience was going and the staff was very friendly and attentive. The pastrami was Devine thick cut so soft and just the right amount of fat absolutely loved it 🥰 pickles were on point and the crinkle cut fries were cooked perfectly definitely recommend if you want to treat yourself or can afford to go all the time cause it is a little pricey but worth it.

Good food, not entirely worth the hype, small portions for the price tag, sandwiches come on their own. Would expect fries or something since its roughly 18-30$ per person! Pastrami was very soft and wet, but not overly flavourful.

This place is great. #19 pastrami, swiss cheese, and coleslaw. I'm not usually a fan on rye bread but this makes the sandwich. Potato salad was good. Next time will skip the potato salad and just get the chili cheese fries. Best I've ever had. LA landmark.

I must admit, I'm a bit disappointed. The curbside pickup service was convenient, but the food didn't meet my expectations. Paying $35, I had hoped for more than just a store quality French roll with pastrami. Unfortunately, the pastrami was only average and didn't really impress me.

The pastrami is wonderful! Everyone loved their dishes. The pickles are cold and crisp. The pastrami has a fantastic brisket-esque crust and the flavor is incredible. It’s not thin deli deliver but bigger slices. The onion bread was soft, warm, and tasty.

Finally got the chance to cross this place off my bucketlist. Ordered #19 which had pastrami, coleslaw, and Swiss cheese (I think). The sandwich overall was okay. Would I go back to this place? Probably not.

Delicious brisket sandwich and a nice green salad. My friend had an omelette and mom had a chicken salad sandwich. Frank was a fun waiter and free parking a block away for 90 minutes.

  • 4/5 Veronica S. 3 years ago on Google
I got the cheese burger. It was well seasoned, juicy and well cooked. The pickles came on the side a whole one, cut in half, in a lil bag, that was not ideal, for eating in a car. There was no dine in. Over priced. Not bad for a once in a while, type place.

  • 5/5 Paul T. 3 years ago on Google
Their pastrami changes lives! 🤤 Literally can't go back to the more commonly found pastrami found at your run of the mill "Greasy Spoon" joints. Even for the price (practically a $20 sando) you will want to return to Langer's time and time again!

  • 5/5 Alex D. 4 months ago on Google
In a classic style diner, is one of the best pastrami sandwiches. The rye didn't have the chemical taste of most rye breads, the coleslaw was not drowned in thousand Island and the pastrami was soft and juicy. We don't normally care about pastrami but this was delicious.

  • 1/5 Nice G. 3 years ago on Google
Placed a phone order. I was told to come by in 30 minutes. I went there after 45 minutes and waited another 15 minutes at their curbside. I called and this rude female said it will be ready when it's ready. The 2 sandwich costed me $44 and it was just ordinary and nothing special. Not worth the hype.

Langer’s Deli is a culinary gem nestled in the heart of Los Angeles, and my recent visit left an indelible mark. From the moment I stepped in, the vintage charm of the establishment resonated with its rich history. The decor exudes a classic deli ambiance, creating a comfortable setting for a leisurely meal. The menu, a testament to the deli’s legacy, is a delightful journey through traditional Jewish deli fare. I chose the renowned #19 pastrami sandwich, and it was nothing short of a gastronomic revelation. The pastrami, expertly cured and smoked, boasted a perfect balance of tenderness and robust flavor. The rye bread, a canvas for this culinary masterpiece, was freshly baked and provided a satisfying crunch. Accompanying the sandwich, the coleslaw added a refreshing contrast, showcasing the chef’s commitment to harmonious flavors. The extensive menu caters to diverse tastes, offering a spectrum of deli classics prepared with precision and care. What truly sets Langer’s apart is the exceptional service. The staff displayed a genuine passion for their craft, offering insights into the menu and ensuring every aspect of my dining experience was impeccable. It’s evident that customer satisfaction is paramount here. While the prices may lean towards the higher end, the quality of ingredients and the overall experience justify the cost. Langer’s Deli is not merely a restaurant; it’s a cultural institution where culinary artistry meets a sense of tradition. If you’re seeking a gastronomic journey that transcends the ordinary, Langer’s is a destination worth savoring.

The #19 is a classic: pastrami, Swiss, and coleslaw on freshly baked rye bread. I can only ever finish half, so I’m not mad that it only comes with a pickle half on the side. At $26 it’s pretty pricey, but where else are you going to find pastrami this juicy? Nowhere, that’s where.

Awesome food, great service, mom and pop feel Must try restaurant. Will be back, so glad I got the opportunity try their food. I got the pastrami with Sauerkraut and wife got pastrami with Swiss. Parking down the block free with langers validation.

Came here for a lunch with my friends . Have been here like 5 years ago so kinda forgot how the experience was. We got some appetizers and pastrami sandwich #19. It was amazing. Pastrami was thick and was melting in my mouth, it wasn't oversalted, cole slaw was tasty, the bread was crispy. The service was amazing too. I literally have nothing bad to say about this establishment even tho I am a pretty picky reviewer. Highly recommended to anyone who likes good food.

The Best pastrami sandwiches ever! It’s almost blasphemous to say but better or as good as any pastrami sandwich I’ve had in New York City. Number 19 on the menu. Friendly and welcoming staff. Couldn’t ask for anything more for visiting tourists. Validated parking a block away.

  • 2/5 tristan t. 1 year ago on Google
To be honest the prices are way too high for something I could get down the street for half the price. They claim to be the best at serving pastrami but that claim fell short for an order of pastrami fries with chili that was horrible and disgusting, it still had that fatty red parts from not being warmed enough or could have been old, second there wasn't enough of it, the pastrami which was the reason for my visit became the reason I wanted to leave, the price was steep at almost 20$ for a small portion. The breakfast was okay my wife ordered a full of cinnamon toast and crispy bacon. Not too bad. They do ask for a vaccine card which I think is dumb but w.e be warned.

  • 5/5 Tom M. 1 year ago on Google
Knowledgeable waitress, good service. The pastrami is EXCELLENT, and has a much more subtle flavor than the local hamburger joints that serve pastrami. Literally melts in your mouth.

Words cannot describe this place. The #19 is the best sandwich I've eaten in the 30 years I've graced this fine planet. Nothing compares. The delis of New York are fine contenders but no match. Do yourself a favor if you're in Los Angeles, or just even anywhere on planet Earth. Go to Langers. Find yourself. It is an experience that will transform you, and your next day will be the true start to a life well lived.

I went to three Jewish Style Deli's in NYC within the last few months, including a highly renowned one. I was disappointed with the sandwiches in all of them But Langers in Los Angeles beat them hands-down. The sandwiches are a little smaller than in NYC. But still a good size and leave you well-satisfied.. The prices are commensurately lower. Sides are very good. The coleslaw is great. The potato salad is a bit too sweet for my taste. The waitress suggested their home-made vanilla cream soda. It was also very good. In other words, go and enjoy. The only issue is the adjacent neighborhood. So be careful. They have a parking lot on the next opposite corner with validated parking. Otherwise, it is difficult to find street parking in the area.

I love coming here for the fried chicken! My family comes here often since it's close to home! We always get the family set 2 (comes with 12 piece drumstick, young yang soup, salad, and a 2 liter pitcher of a soft drink!) This comes out to be $36 for 4 people! It's usually not busy when we come which is around 6-9 pm! I definitely recommend coming here for Korean fried chicken! It's delicious!

Way overpriced for a sandwhich.$23.00 for a sandwhich that has half of the meat other deli's offer. Paid additional $3.50 for extra lean corn beef, there was visable fat in the sandwiches. Better off with Brent's, Canters, or anywhere else. This place is overrated. I don't understand why people frequent this place, when there are far superior delis in L.A

I would recommend this place! They have super friendly and professional barbers! My husband got a hair cut and a beard trim here. It was all well done by John the best barber we chose. Expensive Jewish sandwiches and soups! Definitely worth the splurge from time to time. Ordered through postmates and called the front desk for curbside pickup, as the sign outside says CURBSIDE PICKUP CALL FOR YOUR ORDER. Apparently thats only for call ahead orders and not for app based pickup. Sort of annoying, just keep that in mind! Also in a really horrible part of LA, lock up your car and leave your valuables out of sight! Twice now I've come back to my car parked up the street getting door checked.

The food was delicious. But the sandwiches almost twenty bucks. 18.75 18.95 something like that. I have to say this was a really small sandwich.REALLY SMALL. I understand Norm. You run a union shop and there sure were a lot of people working there during this covid-19 lock down and I applaud you for that. Oh he responded back Come on Norm. That Cheapskate Terry Bloomgarden puts more meat on a sandwich than this.

  • 5/5 Mandy S. 3 years ago on Google
Unbelievable menu, though I normally go for the No. 19 with corned beef rather than pastrami, Iove how they cut their meats thicker than most delis so you get the moist taste of the meats and of course their twice baked rye bread is phenomenal though I normally don't like rye bread. Great service, amazing food and Norm Langer has a magnificent legacy from his Dad.
