I love the experience here. The waiters are so nice and answer any questions we had and made suggestions. Definitely an acquired taste if your only used to tacos and burritos. I loved it. This is the way to do it! Oaxaca style mole!!!! Tip these waiters more on your next visit!

Food is superb and delicious. This is the most authentic Oaxacan food. With that said, the restaurant is extremely busy and service is compromised. The poor waitress had to bus her own tables and some had very large parties. I asked for hot sauce or salsa for my meal and it never made it to the table. I asked 3 times for a to go box and not until I got up and asked again, I finally got it. I didn't like the fact that the check was not presented to me for review. The waitress just gave me a total to pay and the tip options. I noticed everyone else was paying the same way. Considering how much the restaurant charges for food, there is room for improvement.

Great vegetarian Tlayuda- flavors are good. Has a basil mushroom bean paste Oaxaca cheese... Mole is also flavorful and I am not a mole fan. Horchata was also yummy! This spot is nice and lively in the inside. The food and atmosphere work well! Great service.

While out exploring the city we made a stop to grab some food. The wait wasn't long and the servers were quick to take our orders. The decor and music was authentic and a whole vibe. The food was delicious. We all tried different things and shared amongst each other to see if we were all in agreement. Overall we enjoyed everything. Definitely a good hop in and eat location. Plus they have family size orders that come out on huge platters!

The food and vibe of the place was great. CALL IN ADVANCE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR DINER SERVICE. It gets crazy busy and we were told it would be 45 to 1 hour waiting....which was close to what we waiting. The place had a live band playing and they have a very large patio where you can hang outside without music happening inside. The only down side the server forgot about us and we had to flag servers from other tables for drink refills? Ordering food... Everything else was great.

I've been wanting to eat here for the longest time so I was excited to go here. The lines were long and we had to wait about 20-30 min. The neighborhood isnt the greatest or very clean. The restaurant does have valet parking. After we were seated, we never got our chips. We asked for them but the waitress forgot. We ordered our food and asked for chips again which came long after the food showed up. We ordered the mole sampler with 4 different mole sauces, which included chicken in the mole sauce and rice and a large corn tortilla and quesadillas. It was tasty but I found the mole sauces to be pretty sweet for my taste except the mole coloradito (which was my favorite mole sauce) I wish we could have gotten 2 tortillas with that dish. The quesadillas were tasty. Also ordered a horchata but found it to be overly sweet and I could not finish it.

What a fun and delicious dinner. We had high hopes and were not disappointed. The mole chips were so good. I hadn't had anything like this before. For dinner we had the Mole Negra and veggie Tlayuda. We ate too much. Portions were big. But these dinners were just yummy. We had the choco-flan for dessert. There was a live band which gave a festive mood for the crowd. A perfect night.

Food was delicious, but we had a two hour wait. Definitely make reservations. They are short staffed and I I want to believe that is the reason for the poor customer service.

Wow absolutely amazing and delicious food.. Paulina gracefully provided lunch and it exceeded my expectations. The chicken tamale has exquisite flavor and the horchata is to die for.. cant wait to try other food items.

If you love mole then this is the to go spot. The food is bomb bomb bomb … and the atmosphere is good to. Cocktails were also delicious. I recommend the Pina Colada. It’s definitely pricey these days so be prepared. Bon appetite

This place was on the list of neighborhood restaurant recommendations, so I went and checked it out. I grew up an hour away from the border in New Mexico, so I'm no stranger to Mexico food, but I loved how different this was being Oxacan style which I haven't really experienced before. Instead of the normal chips and salsa, they give you chips with mole and a little bit of cheese. I asked the server his recommendation, and he said he personally liked "Taco de Barbacoa de Chivo" (tender young goat tacos in a corn tortilla). I was blown away by how good it was. I'm only in LA for 4 days, but I'd love to come back and try more stuff on the menu here.

Really Amazing Mexican food. Some said it is the best in LA. I loved it. We went on a Saturday and ate at the bar which was fine. The food and drink were amazing and definitely do the mole sampler! VictorB

The food is always absolutely incredible. Been there twice and it keeps me wanting to come back to try it all. They had a live band the last time and they sang happy birthday to some folks celebrating a birthday. The staff is always super nice, friendly, and helpful. And they have a cool tiny gift shop where you can pick up treats and drinks to go!!!

One of the most authentic Mexican experiences in Los Angeles period. I absolutely loved the food and the band playing in the background made me feel like I was deep in the middle of Oaxaca Mexico eating at someones home. One of the best experiences for "just dinner" I have had. My wife and I ordered the Tlayuda Guelaguetza, the Tamal Oaxaqueño and, the Chiles Rellenos. All were very delicious. I'd also recommend any drink with mezcal. Look up the fermentation process for this mezcal. It's very interesting. If you ever tried mezcal, this one tastes very different from "regular mezcal". I definitely recommend this place. I'd give 10 stars if I could.

We went here for dinner with friends and luckily got a quieter table behind the bar area. It is a Massive restaurant with a fun night life a huge menu and lots to drink. We tried several different kinds of mole and of course the queso both were delicious. I definitely recommend giving this place a try and I will for sure return!

Holy Moley!! Loved this experience trying Oaxaca Mexican cuisine for the first time. If you're in west Los Angeles area, and have a craving for authentic Oaxaca food, specifically mole, come to Guelaguetza Restaurant. It's old, nostalgic authentic, charming ambience, with a variety of Mexican music playing in the back ground. Service was excellent. Our server was very friendly, attentive and courteous. Everything was delicious. They have Valet parking.

After our 4th or 5th visit I think it’s official that this place is an iconic piece of the Los Angeles food scene. I’ve managed to work my way through most or the menu and drinks and have enjoyed everything. The mole sampler is a must for first time visitors and ensure to try out some of their other great appetizers and offerings. This time I went with the cheese enchiladas and enjoyed them. We lucked out by going on the first day if football season and waited the least amount or time ever! Highly recommend reservations or getting there early. In buys days wait times can be 90 minutes plus.

I had never been here before so I didn't even know this place was there. It's Mexican but not your typical Mexican food. The food was definitely different from what I have had before but unfortunately the food had way too much salt and on the expensive side. They really need to cut that salt and the tortillas got cold fast. Not too many choices if you're not use to this type of food. Also they only have a valet parking. No regular parking.

I came here for my birthday; it was a great experience. I came earlier in the afternoon with a small group to avoid a long wait. Parking was available with valet; which was worth it. We sat outside which was great because it seemed lively. The quality of ingredients and food was great. Both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks had great flavor. Food was flavorful and with big portions. I recommend sharing a plate or two pending on the size of your party. Staff was friendly; my mom speaks primarily Spanish so she felt right at home with multiple Spanish speaking staff. Place was clean. I gladly come back.

Best Mole I’ve ever tried. Their carne asada it’s no really good but the mole and the rest of the food rescue our lunch here. Amazing cheese, beans, homemade tortillas, mole and drinks. The services was amazing very helpful. I would definitely recommend the Tamarind w jalapeño marg 😋

everything we ordered was delicious! for drinks we ordered: dairy-free Horchata, Chilacayota, Pasión De Oaxaca, and a Margarita. for entrees we ordered Chiles Rellenos, Enchiladas de Coloradito+Tasajo, Enfrijoladas+Tasajo, Festival de Moles, and a side order of Nopales (grilled cactus) of course dessert is a separate stomach so we topped it all off with Chocoflan and a slice of Tres Leches. for a party of 4 it was plenty of food and drinks! we will be back for more!

Absolutely scrumptious!!!! The mole sampler is the way to go. More than enough food for my friend and me to share. Abdiel made the experience so special -- deserving of a raise! Immaculate vibes. I will definitely be coming back.

Food: Some of the best mole I have ever had. Absolutely love the menu and the variety you get. The menu explains exactly what you are getting from each mole. Starting from the chips topped with some mole to open your appetite. We ordered the queso fundido first. Then the Giant tostada enough to feed 2-3 people & my mole Colorado (chicken breast) was amazing. Service: We were seated immediately. Not long of a wait for a Friday night. The waiter took our drink order pretty quickly. We waited a little to order our main plates, but we're never left unattended. Atmosphere: I mean to top off except food and service..the place was just so much fun. The band they had that night was amazing and quite frankly the reason we stayed longer and racked up a bill of over $250. But don't be afraid of our total, we had more than our fair share of drinks. I cannot wait to go back!!

This is hands-down, the best Molé in the entirety of Los Angeles, California. Every dish so far has been excellent and varied. The enchilada sauce top-notch, the dark chicken Molé top-notch passionfruit Horchata top-notch. The atmosphere is super cool in here. Live band and all! The wait staff is quick and effective and let me just say this, as Arnold Schwarzenegger once said, I’ll be back!

Very packed but definitely worth the wait for the amount and quality of food. The margaritas weren't that good nor were they strong. Tasted more like a mimosa. The venue is amazing along with a live band.

This place was really good. I ordered the non-dairy Mexican Hot chocolate, and to my surprise, it came with a sweet bread. I also ordered the Chilaquiles en Mole with queso Oaxaca. It was a huge portion. I went in the morning so it was not busy at all. The waiters were always checking up on us which was a nice detail. Very cool place and really good food with bug portions.

Food is actually 4 stars, but I’m giving 5 for general rating. It’s massive restaurant with mariachi stage. Unfortunately, we went there wrong time and missed it but I guess it will be nice if you go there in right time. It has great vibe by itself anyway. There are full of interesting food and drink options / probably something new for you if you never tried Oaxaca food. Although, choosing food wasn’t hard because the digital menu (you’ll scan QR) has some helpful description with pictures. Very friendly and helpful staffs with minimal waiting. (But we went there 4:30pm weekday, it was slow.) Delicious complement tortilla chips with mole sauce. Drinks we ordered were both very sweet, I would even consider them as dessert not drink. But they were definitely unique and I always go try for new stuffs. Foods were huge. I think there were some of the most biggest potion I’ve seen in the US. One dish is almost like two potion for us. Those were pricy compare to other mexican foods though. I enjoyed my tlayuda. Those three meat toppings were delicious. The chorizo was one of the best quality I’ve ever tried. I wish there were some more fresh vege though because it was a little dry. Mole rojo was good too, it was a little sweet for us though. Salsas on the side were good but not my favorite type of spice which is my personal preference. valet parking only and usually the area is difficult to find street parking.

It was great for our celebration. With our reservation they did well to accommodate our group of 12. The bar was good half of us got drinks to keep us occupied before our reservation's time. We were outside but with the heaters everyone seemed to be comfortable. The food good (I am not familiar enough with the names of the dishes). They had vegan options even as substituents and considerate when we mentioned we had a food allergy.

Definitely a staple in Los Angeles. The food here is great and the atmosphere is AMAZING. Loved the live music. Ordered the Botana Oaxaqueña (half) and Festival de Moles. Had leftovers with 4 people, but was fantastic to try all the different things.

I've always wanted to try mole, and I'm glad I came here to experience it the 1st time. I tried the mole negro and it didn't disappoint. Great, unique restaurant ambiance, too. Minus 1 star for a stunt the server pulled though, which was asking me if I wanted a tortilla, while being ambiguous if it cost extra, which I found out at the end that it did. Just a heads up on the parking: there's only street parking, which can be dicey, and $7 valet.

Probably the one and only place I have tried good authentic Oaxacan food from. There is no other place like it. The environment and energy is very welcoming. If you are new or familiar with the food you'll enjoy it. They have a variety of dishes. The portions are pretty decent and fulfilling.

At first we were kicked out. They said we had to wait to be brought In by an employee. But no one was present when we got there not our fault. We were seated promptly that was good. Food was tasty like I remembered it 10 years ago. If u want to try Oaxaca food go here you won't be disappointed.
