NO BULLSHIT… ALL THE 1 STAR REVIEWS ARE TRUE. DO NOT COME HERE TO STAY. I PUT 5 STARS TO GET YOUR ATTENTION. There are baby roaches crawling around… there are no sheets covering the bed. Walking to the room was disgusting by itself. The room was 80 but ending paying 100 dollars and i asked for a refund… they only gave me 40 dollars back because supposedly I messed up the bed. I was literally there for not even 3 minutes. I wish i took photos to show y’all but i needed to get out of there fast. The owners were musty and look like they haven’t showered in 5 days. There smelled like a 10 can of bounce that ass… very very very unprofessional. This place should be closed down.

Just and FYI, but this wouldn't be the place to bring your little family for a vacation. A good portion of the people staying here were on drugs/ likely living here. The staff was incredibly friendly though and helpful. They have parking on the lot next door for $10/night and the gate is normally locked (you just have to ask them to open it and they do), so my car felt safe. The rooms were clean but not clean (as in curtains were dirty, marks on the wall, chair in the room was incredibly dirty, etc), but at the same time the bed was clean and so was the bathroom. It's like staying at a dive bar; like I get dive bars and going to them but I wouldn't want to stay at one. Overall don't recommend unless you're a punk kid staying with punk friends or something like that; then you might like it.

WORST HOTEL EVER. DO NOT STAY HERE. A friend and I (two women) wanted to stay a night. We fled after an hour. The receptionist was a bit scary, but didn't do anything. The elevator to our room was very old and smelled bad. A homeless person (guest at the hotel?) tried to seduce us, asking if we were "already of age" and following us for a bit. Then the room - no words. After opening the door, a rockroach ran towards us. The others you can see on the photos. The bathroom was full of mold and humidity, the floor was dirty, the bed had hairs and dirt on it. Loose cables on the walls and in the corners.

Do not stay here if you are a woman or feminine person. There are too many weirdo men who will stare and try to talk to you. Rooms smell very musty, there’s a window above the BATHTUB, and an unusable moldy fridge. No wall outlets were working either and the elevator was very confusing to use. Staff was very polite but that’s as far as my compliments go.

Blows my mind how this place even managed a (at the time of writing) 2.6 rating. I travel a lot, and this was without a doubt the worst place I've stayed. The lady at the front desk was extremely kind, but unfortunately that can't make up for...well, literally everything else. The front door of the building doesn't lock, which is pretty concerning for any hotel; let alone one in a less-than-stellar area. The rooms are very rundown, with outlets that don't work and fire alarms hanging by wires. There's almost constant noise, be it people talking or music from the surrounding areas. The photos you see online provided by the hotel must me of a sample room or something; mine looked nowhere near as nice. I know the price is tempting, but it's not even close to worth the savings. Avoid the headache, heed the bad reviews, and spring for something better.

If I could give this hotel zero stars then I would! I am livid about the hotel because it was so awful and the room was terrible. It sits in a bad location and the walls were thin; so you easily hear your neighbors from next door. The photos showed a nice room but they lied! The area is dirtier than a muddy landslide flooding a street! Not to mention that the room I was staying in which was room # 209, with my sister and her significant other was just a life hazard in itself! The room had a pipe on the ceiling that wasn't properly secured and the wiring was out for all to see! Both are safety hazards and need to be taken care of! Some areas of the floor felt spongy and that told me that the flooring beneath was rotting. There were even a few nails/screws that were protruding from the floor by about 1½ or in the 2 inches and that horrified me. The room reeked of smoke and the vibe felt more like we've been kidnapped more than anything else! My friends and I didn't even feel safe!💀 I am just livid as I can on forever while nitpicking on EVERYTHING in the room I was staying in and would NEVER EVER go to this God forsaken place EVER again!😠😡🤬 Let it be a "hotel" in hell and keep it there! Or at least have the place be shut down since it is possibly violating both health and safety laws in every way possible! But overall, For the sake of your sanity and safety, along with your wallet. Do NOT book a room here and just go find a much nicer place to stay!

This is the most scary hotel I've ever stayed. First: the hotel condition is so bad, after I checked in, the room didn't have room phone as said it's free local calls. No chair in the room, no clothes hangers (after I asked, and they told me they would give me couple, but never happened). And the TV didn't work at all. After I asked them to fix it, they had somebody came at 9:48pm first night, 9:14pm second night, after I asked them to come in day time, they were in my room around 8:30pm 3rd night, since there was no chair, I had to stand there nearly 30 minutes until they finally half fixed it (the remote didn't setup). Second: I found they didn't change the bed set, hairs and some dirty stuff on the sheet, the guy even argued with me, finally gave me a new set and I had to change myself. Second morning, I found so many new-born flies in the bathroom, I had to buy spray to clean up. Third and the worst part: the third night I was there, there was some guy knocked on my door harassing me at 2:08AM, since there was no room phone, I couldn't call front desk for help, luckily the guy left before I called 911. Forth: the area is so dirty(picture 5 just cross the street) and scary, some people even smoke marijuana at hotel door. I felt unsafe to keep staying, so I called Expedia asking them to call the hotel to cancel my last two nights, only asked for one night refunded. First when I was on the phone with Expedia customer service, they agreed to refund me, now I got an email told me they declined. Just want to warn who may want to book this hotel, you may get lots negative surprise.

Photos online were obviously not accurate. Obviously you get what you pay for when the price is cost effective. Room was eh, felt unfinished and had broken tiles in bathroom area. Definitely have a bug problem there. They cleaned with bleach which is great but still no. Extra to park in their lot which has to be manually opened by staff.

This place needs to burned to the ground and rebuilt. Check in but didn't stay. My room 214, had a running tub that couldn't turn off. Dirty toilet, dirty shower curtain, roaches, and sticky notes from the last occupants. Walls were moldy. The owners would do well if the building was lost due to fire.

If cost is most important, then this place might suffice. But the neighborhood is trashy and rundown. Plus, the road noise and that from individuals on the sidewalks can be very loud and annoying. My room was clean, but missing simple items that could have made things more comfortable, such as more than one towel (and no washcloth, either), a lamp beside the bed so one can read without having to use the bright ceiling light, a remote that worked all the TV functions, and more. Also, could have done without a woman screaming at people, unnecessarily, in the hallway at 1am.

I've stayed here multiple times because the rates are so reasonable BUT..... only the first visit was a good one. We got a great room- very spacious and had no issues. The next stay....we got a one king bed "suite". The room was big but it was just empty space. The"king bed" was definitely a standard (not even a queen), our TV didn't work and no one ever came up to fix it. Worst of all....THE ROACHES.....SO MANY ROACHES. ROACHES IN THE COMMUNAL MICROWAVES, ROACHES IN THE FRIDGE, ROACHES GOT INSIDE MY PURSE.....(NO, THERE WAS NO FOOD IN MY PURSE). I had to ask the cleaning lady for roach spray. When I left the guy at the front desk acted surprised that I wanted my $20 deposit back which they make u pay for the key. Oh. Almost forgot. The lovely orange condom we found between the bed and the side table was a nice touch. 👌🏽

Hi google member . I’m staying in Stuart hotel for few days checking out tomorrow 8/29 The location is great walking distance to the gym and restau and downtown. price is reasonable, the counter personnel are helpful. The room I’m at are clean they have housekeeping service everyday. I have to tell them no need for room service since I’m only traveller and I’m not messy The only concern I have are outside of the building. There’s a lot of homeless people. Thank you for reading

The employees make this hotel a stand out among its budget friendly peers - okay - neighborhood roach motel/sketch magnets. All put downs aside, these employees show a genuine sense of pride and dedication to good guest services and friendly hospitality, no matter who comes in or out. A welcome change from previous frontline employees here. Despite the "where there's one there's a thousand", creepy crawly invaders coming out of the depths of these old interiors and bathroom areas, the rooms are well kept, clean and freshened well enough that you shrug it off as getting what you paid for. That being said, the roach issue is problematic and needs to be dealt with. So far, thumbs up to no crazy cash deposits (if any at all) or the ever-demeaning no-guest policy (ridiculous) - possibly due to renovation noise and dusty drywall construction. Yes, it's being spruced up. The lobby is now kept open and inviting all hours of the day which is convenient for the late night options that draw people to an overnight downtown. This means accessible front desk associates standing guard and available nearly every minute, from what I can tell. These are not the borderline thugs and pitbulls I experienced previously here, or at many other LA businesses that unleash them on customers every minute of the day. Definitely a decent value - and not a totally regrettable choice whatsoever for a downtown Los Angeles budget stay. Well done.

This hotel should be shut down. Worst stay I ever had. The manager/owner is rude. Roaches everywhere. Bed bugs. My tv didn't work. There was a rat in my room and when I asked to change rooms they made it seem like there was no rat and then saw it and said we will change rooms for you. I left and wouldn't put my worst enemy in a place infested with bugs and rats. AVOID at all costs. Sketchy people inside and outside. I would shut the place down and cannot believe it's allowed to operate.

The photos and ads on kayak for this “hotel” were extremely misleading. I am a very go with the flow kind of person I have staid in motels that were a little rough around the edges but this place sent me into a full on panic attack trying to scramble to find a new room elsewhere. There were bugs, mold, broken and stained furniture, satanic symbols drawn onto the inside of our door, assumed drugs users loitering in the lobby…It felt like I had walked into the seventh level of hell itself. This hotel is more of a trap house. I felt unsafe and the longer I was there the worse I felt. After all that they said that because we didn’t leave immediately(we were trying to secure a new room elsewhere we are not local) they would only give us %50 of what we paid. Do not waste your time, health, safety or money attempting to stay here like I did.

The WORST hotel in the entire world. DIRTY, ROACHES EVERYWHERE, and the worst part is that they don't do anything about it. We were supposed to stay 2 nights, and barely slept the 1st night. We left the next day. They did not give us any refund. Please... trust the reviews, DON'T STAY HERE. They should close this hotel.

TL;DR: do NOT stay here. It’s not a hotel. I avoided this place because of the reviews, but my friend booked here to stay because it’s cheap and close to where we are going. The parking is awful; we had to circle around five times to finally find parking a block away. We ended up paying $10 for a night for parking (we had to talk to the manager to let us park at a joining lot and he pressed the key fob, like it’s his own garage). At the front entrance, we saw a NOTICE of a public hearing. Basically they got in trouble with the city of LA, which entails necessary changes to the hotel and current environmental impacts it’s having. That’s alarming. We checked in, and the lobby looked dirty. For a place that is “senior citizen friendly”, the fact that the lobby doesn’t have a ramp is interesting. The moment we walked into the room, I did not feel safe there at all. It was definitely not Skid Row I was concerned about. The bathroom tub paint was PEELING off and the room showed rusted pipes on the ceiling. There were blood stains on the sheets as well and a hole on our bathroom door. The room smelled like cigarette smoke, even though it is supposed to be a non smoking room. We never checked out so fast and when we complained about the bedsheets, the staff said they could change it tomorrow, which for me, is a no. You do get what you paid for, but I have been in cheaper motels and they’re cleaner. It feels like a 1920s slum tenement apartment disguised as a hotel, so they don’t have to do background checks or credit checks. Kind staff did their best, which is why I gave a 1 star rating.

Room 408 has a great view of downtown LA. Other than that....I wouldn't recommend it. Need an exterminator for the roaches and mice. The old elevator looks like it needs a sign that says use at your own risk.

0 starts tbh, disgusting hotel, embarrassing stay tbh, front desk refused to give me a fresh set of towels and wash cloths until after 9;30am I called at 7:25am asking for them , even though checkout time is 11 am smh. They only gave me one key even though a had a guest with me. Overall it was just a weird stay. The front desk person wouldn’t even let me in my room, he made me wait until my friend got back with the 1 room key, even though my name was on the room and he saw my ID.

We got this place here as a way to get a cheap room for the night after a day at universal. The positives: 2 queen beds are cheap with fridge, the room was huge and good for the price, and the staff was very accommodating. Unfortunately the building, cleanliness, and the neighborhood are truth. Rooms are clean, but they aren’t clean enough. My friend found blood stains spots, evidence of bed bugs but fortunately we didn’t have any bed bugs. We found one tiny roach in our bathroom, the wall stained, and lot of rust. Left over smell of smoke in the air. The door to the bathroom was not repaired properly. The location is not completely safe. Lots of garbage, and parking lot has trailer parks with homeless and evidence of broken glass. I suggest if you stay, take the $10 parking. It’s gated to protect your car. Overall, it was an adventure. Unpleasant, and gets the job done, but probably won’t come again for safety reasons. The person compare it to like a dive bar that only punks will like this place, and not an average family.

The room was completely infested with cockroaches. When I got to the hotel, they asked me to wait for 15 minutes the time that they make a room available for me. Once i got into the room, there was a strong smell of chemicals as though someoen tried to disinfect the place. I first noticed on wall that there were dead roaches probably from someone who stayed there, and kills a few, and the cleaner didn't notice them. I had to open the windows to let the chemical smell come out, then I proceeded to settle down. I turned off the lights and started working on my computer, and within an hour, roaches started climbing all over me. At first I didn't think they were bugs, so I just brushed them off.. when I realized what it was, i jumped out of the bed and turned the light on. The floor was completly covered with bugs. I put my feet in my shoes only to realize that my shoes too had been infestec with roaches. I mean when I say the floor was covered, it's not an understatement. It was covered with roaches. When turned the light on, most of them ran to hide under the bed, and th emini fridge that was on the side. I got out of there and went to the reception to tell them I couldn't sleep in there. They told me they would speak with their owner and refund me the payment. Well, I just got off the phone with one of the receptionists for the n-th time, and as the other ones said 4 days ago, they need to talk to their owner to reinburse what they charged me, and I just got yelled at, and told that if I spent more than 5 hours in the room, no matter what happened in there, they wouldnt reinburse me. that they will check the cameras to see how long i stayed before they make a decision. Needless to say that I will find a way to report this to health services. So they'd better remodel their hotel before an inspection is perfomed in the coming days. It just may cost them more than the $120 they keep giving me the run around with.

The room looked/is old and run down, everything from the walls to the bathtub, to the poor lighting was just terrible. The restroom window wouldnt close, the one chair inside the room had thee worst stains on it that I have ever seen, there were also quite a few cockroaches Inside our room too. Bed sucked. Only reason we stayed there was because we got a complimentary free weeks stay, however, I can assure you that even if a month were offered to me next time I'd most definitely decline for sure! The staff too were Very, very lazy as well as rude. Overall probably the worst hotel-stay experience to-date.

It is nothing like the photos, room service comes in your room to clean every day, they may have been nice but there are no Do Not Disturb tags to be found and they could invade my privacy whenever they wanted. The place is surrounded by tweakers and a lot of tweakers stay in the hotel or just roam the halls, had a random tweaker wake me up banging on my door at 4am. The place also has cockroaches, and my room did not have heating along with holes in the window so it was room temperature (It was winter during my visit and this review) made it very hard to sleep along with the thin doors that allowed every noise from the place into the room. Do yourself a favor and get a room for a tiny bit more at a Motel 6

I wish I could give zero stars. Some friends and I booked this hotel 6 months in advance, but we then read the reviews of the place which are terrifying! So decided to cancel. The website says free cancellation, but after emailing them numerous times I'd heard nothing about our refund. I decided to call them, and the lady I spoke with screamed at me and then hung up. $600 down the drain, they are just trying to rip people off. Please don't book this "hotel"!

This is sadly just a management problem. Just very low standards. Dozens of flies flying around the lobby? Check. Flies and mosquitoes in room since blue painter's tape used on only 3 of the 4 sides of the room air conditioner (the tape was ugly, but effective if only they hadn't quit on the 1-yard line)? Check. Dog barking in the hallway at 3:32 am? Check. Just a goat rodeo of a mess. Great location, in my opinion, ruined by mismanagement and lack of standards.

I mean, you are paying for a two star hotel which you receive what you pay for in this instance. There was someone yelling in the hall early in the morning for no reason. The main door is always unlocked too. When we got back to the room on the second day, the door was opened and not fully closed so anyone could've got in.

If I could give this hotel a zero I would. It is absolutely filthy and I already have heard bad things but this is the quickest and cheapest place I could find in the area I was staying. Turns out I could not even stay the night. There were bugs everywhere and weird stains on the bed. My daughter got me a hidden camera detector a while ago as knowing this is a major fear of mine so I decided to try it out. I went around the room and it went off when pointed toward the shower head. I immediately left and no longer felt safe. DO NOT GO. It is nasty and my room had a CAMERA in the SHOWER. I stayed in room 308 for context. PLEASE DO NOT GO.

Although the building is old and there are some homeless people around, the rooms are spacious and relatively clean. When I checked in, the professional front desk staff provided me with a lot of help, making me feel like I had met old friends. There's nothing that could have brightened my mood more than this.

The area is sketchy. The building exterior looks rather stark. Lobby not much better. They are doing a lot of work and refurbishment. Rooms are good. Kept clean by hard working housekeeping. Modern plumbing and electrical fixtures. Good size tv. Comfy bed. Staff is courteous and helpful. It's fine for the price. I spent nine days and would be glad to stay again.

  • 4/5 Alexander L. 6 months ago on Google
This is an old building. There are roaches, but there's also a Home Depot in walking distance. Parking is right next door and is as cheap as you'll find ($10 a night) and GATED. There are either bouncers or guests who watch the front all night long, which is actually comforting, because they know the area and what to watch for. they're friendly and helpful if you have questions. If you need the gate open, staff will open it 24/7 on request. There is an elevator (vintage with a gate!) and strong verizon cell reception, at least from the 4th floor. I had trouble with the free wifi, but was able to mobile hotspot and get a strong connection. Checked the bedding and it looked very clean, although we did bring our own sheets in case and put them on top because we find them more comfortable, but if you're just looking for a place to crash the stock ones are more than sufficient. Mattresses are firm but not uncomfortable, and brand new looking based on the fact that they still had new ones in bags in the lobby and ours looked new when we checked it. Bring some roach traps, keep your food closed, and bring some disinfectant if those bother you. Rooms are aged but well kept. There are no chairs but there is a small table so bring camp chairs if you need them. For the price and location and the availability last minute you really can't ask for more. Great staff make the experience much better than if it was mediocre. Great food trucks and shopping as well as restaurants are within 20 minutes walking or a cheap Uber/lyft away, never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a driver.

So let me start by saying the staff, wonderful nice people!!! Only reason they get 2 stars. First time staying, so I arrived and was given a key for a room that was so strong of roach spray and pesticides! Unbearable! Immediately let the staff know. So they give me a different room. This one, no smell but not as bright and open as the first room. So I take it of course because I can breathe!!! Only to go bring my belongings from the car to find the baby roaches playing in the tub!! So now I'm like ok I see why it reeks of roach spray. WARNING... DONT touch the microwave.!!! INFESTED with roaches. I was highly upset and disturbed by this, however I took my cold food back to my fridge and went to bed. Oh .... the room didn't come with the remote, you have to go ask for one! And if you are two People in one room, it's only one pillow. Overall stay was a 3. Let me mention they are renovating!!! Stop renovating and start a fumigation!!! This whole building needs a bomb!!! Please get the roaches out!!!!! Thanks

05272023 bathroom sink flooded and clogged with over flowed time 1250 noon... 05282023 talked with Stuart receptionist in regarding no disturbance signs for guest when not present in the unit. Stuart receptionist stated they don't keep any no disturbance signs in the hotel. So house keeping can knock and go inside the rooms with out you knowing. Even with personel items or with kids. Notice there is no fire extinguisher in the cases in some of the buildings. 05292023 get an knock at the door regarding broom service. I told the house keeping that I told the manager yesterday that I wanted no room service. I didn't have any toiletries so I went to ask the house keeping. 06022023 went to brush my teeth in the bathroom, tirn the wayer knob and their is no water. Turn the bathtub knob no water... no warning from any where thayvthe water being turned off.

As we got within a few blocks of the "motel" we were hoping every building we passed was the Stuart Hotel as each one we passed was older than the last, uglier and the location worsened. Finally after looking for parking for 30 mins we arrived at the steps to the front door that was blocked by 3 guys laid out on them. As we opened our room door on the 4th floor, roaches fell from the door frame to the floor scattering all over the room. As we entered we could see the building is very old with holes everywhere you looked and dozens of roaches coming out of most, mold patches all over the ceiling, rusty water at first from shower and sink. The beds had white sheets and pillowcases but for what was underneath I don't want to know and couldn't bring myself to sleep there. Oh the bath towels were white and appeared clean but were jail towel quality.

Wouldn’t recommend this hotel at any cost. Its a health hazard room. No cleanness in rooms, all broken shower. No cleanness in the lobby flies everywhere. Because I pointed that to the manager next thing happened they dined service and asked to get out like that. No respect for the customers. Response about cleanness from the front desk person was HEALTH INSPECTION was done last month and HEALTH INSPECTOR cleared it that way.

We had an ok stay. Room was big and not goo dirty, only the bathroom a bit. But by far not as bad as some people are stating here. Especially considering the price and location, this is a solid hotel. Of course there are homeless people around the building, but inside we didnt see any.

This motel is absolutely disgusting. Cockroach infested, stained bed sheets, and water leaks from the ceilings and walls of the shower which means there is likely mold in the walls. Windows are paper thin making it impossible to get a good nights’ sleep. Don’t let the “remodeled” rooms fool you, it’s just lipstick on a pig. Avoid this place!

This place is unbelievable, I can't believe that the costumer service is missing in this hotel. They treat you of how you look, and tbh that's not cool. We all are equal and this people from this location doesn't know what being humble is.. But at least I know where NOT TO COME BACK.

I think is a very good place to stay. Is not luxurios. But it is a good play to sleep. You have walking distance bus stops to Hollywood and downtown, metro stations, McDonalds, sbx and crossing the street a great Ramen Place. Our room was cleaned every day. And all our things was always safe. A very good option if you are looking fare rates. Hope to get back soon!

Hello, I would never again go back in that hotel. The location is really sketchy, homeless people are everywhere. When we arrived two homeless people were following a lady, who was crying and she was asking for help. She ran inside the hotel, while in the opposite direction there was another man pointing a gun at her, he ran inside too. We got really scared, my kids started crying and one of them had a panic attack, we literally ran away from that horrible place. I don’t know how the hotel is inside because we never got the opportunity to walk in, but for the location I would never suggest it.

Rooms are not as seen it picture. I have for hols in the bathroom walls. The refrigerator has leaked water all over the floor. The tables and chairs are old and grows. Lobby is not clean. No where you can sit in lobby. The only good things is the beds are ok and the AC works good cus it was hot today.

Nothing grandeos about the property, but still a clean safe place to relax and lay your head, with a price more affordable then any were else.. good staff, big TVs and soft beds.. plus unlimited hot showers.. sure beats my old spot.. so I'll give this a good ranking 4 Stars..

Staff is very helpful and friendly. Rooms are very spacious and clean with all the basic amenities at a reasonable price. Very good Indian restaurant, Starbucks, groceries store and target are at walking distance. There are two Metro station. It is very good hotel view nice view in the centre of the city. One must give them opportunity to serve you. I recommend every one to stay.

The Hotel was nice. But, the area the Hotel is in, isn't nice at all! Very dirty outside and around the hotel. But, the hotel inside the room itself was very nice and clean!!! And had hard wood floors which was a plus ➕ because it is easier to keep clean.

The Hotels floors were very sticky. Some of the other guests had the door wide open and screaming. They were smoking weed, which frankly doesn’t bother me at all lmao. But, could definitely upset some Karen’s, room 400 was clean but, there were cobwebs on the ceiling. The closet had a cardboard box covering up a giant hole in the wall, the bathroom door unfortunately didn’t close or lock… But, the bathroom looked remodeled and clean. Overall it’s an ok place to stay. Wouldn’t recommend though, the staff was extremely friendly except for the front desk staff, he seemed very uninterested in our visit. The housekeepers were super kind and very funny. Best part of the whole stay. If you on a budget this is your place to go.
