A visit to Venice is not complete without a stroll along these stunningly beautiful, almost always sunny canals. It's a great place for a walk and admire the palm trees, the cute little houses, the perfect reflections... If I can be honest, however, I get tired and bored pretty quickly. Everything is pretty much man made, it pleases the eyes not the mind or heart.

Absolutely beautiful, an architectural dream and best kept secret. This was by far the most interesting activity that I did in LA. The narrow pathways, beautiful homes and lovely feeling. Make this a must do on your visit to LA. Also, donโ€™t rush it, and donโ€™t forget to smell the roses ๐ŸŒน. Free parking in Meredith Avenue, with convenient access to the canals.

Sneak away from Venice Beach and discover the sequestered world of the Venice Canals. It's honestly such a great spot to take a special someone - to walk around and enjoy the clear reflective water. During Christmas time, it's even more beautiful! Also you can glance at all the houses along the canal which you would probably cannot afford (or at least I can't).

Venice Canals is most definitely a must see if you happen to be in the area! It is such a beautiful and peaceful place to be walking around. The canals are so beautiful with the unique bridges, the houses are all so uniquely cute. A great place to be!

Very nice and cozy spot. Quiet and peaceful. It has a little sidewalk to walk around and enjoy the scenery especially while jogging. this is really nice area to live in with a few minutes walk to the beach. However, I lowkey feel bad that this is also part of someones backyard.

Such a beautiful place!! Really loved it. Nice for a short walk. And itโ€™s something different that you donโ€™t see in every city

Very cool. Please be mindful that this really isn't a tourist trap. It's a residential neighborhood. So be respectful when wandering around people's homes. Other than that. You can freely walk around and see some nice birds and homes. Keep in mind you will need to park outside the area and walk in.

Amazing place with charisma, great atmosphere, unique character and pedestrian friendly infrastructure. Thanks to its bridges, this place has a romantic feel, and walks are unique in all seasons and weather. The reflections of the houses in the canals make the photos from this place almost unbelievable.

Site located near the beach and pier. Nice stroll to walk along. Walkway along the canal are tight, can only be accessed on foot. There are parking around the canal, as well as roads for vehicles in the middle of the canal. Traffic is one way only, from east to west. There is a small park on the north west side of the canal

I love this place , many pretty colors, plants and flowers even the houses alongside the canal with their colors patio sets of chairs . It's nice and quiet for a walk with your dog and kids. They filmed the movie Valentines Day here I remember Ashton Kutcher on that bridge heartbroken ๐Ÿ’”. It's a nice stop and stretch your leg from driving along the PACIFIC coast of California. I highly recommend . Venice Beach is at the end of the canal . โค๏ธ ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ’– โฃ๏ธ

Walked along the waterways slowly and enjoyed the leisurely and peaceful moment. Please mind your voice and don't disturb the residents. This is a lovely spot to calm your mind.

It was great. The visitors and locals were very friendly, the houses had fountains and great decorations, and the area was very quiet. The only thing I noticed is that the water is turning green, from my perspective. But it was a nice trip and very relaxing.

This is a must see during the holidays. You will want to park on a side street in the area of the canals. It is a walk in to view these beautiful light displays. There are 4 canals with bridged walkways over them and there are walkways along each of the canals to enjoy the festive look and can even view some exquisite homes along the canals. The whole area is interconnected. I thoroughly enjoyed this and so glad that my husband found this for our family to enjoy.

A very interesting take on Canal's in a residential area! Not to be mistaken for the canals in Venice Italy, however, it is quite the unique atmosphere and I'm sure is enhanced when the water levels are up!

Itโ€™s a community . Nice place and nicely maintained. Be respectful for private property as houses are located on the canals. You may walk around and explore the small bridges and different canals. We have been there during Memorial Day long weekend. And there were lot of other people like us. Looks like itโ€™s one of the famous photo spot to do some photoshoot. We find lot of people doing photoshoot here on bridges. If you have time and just want to walk around, itโ€™s a nice place to go.

Beautiful and clean canals! They donโ€™t stink. Its a nice place to spend some quality time. I saw a lot of people talking strolls, walking their dogs.. There multiple points from where you can enter and exit the canals.. The houses along the canals are beautiful. Good photo-ops. Best time to visit is during the day and early evening.

Lovely to walk through during the holiday season. Definitely less confusing than Venice in Italy. Some people decorate with lights and others donโ€™t. Dog friendly and parking nearby. Nice to stroll at night. Free, so good for a pass time.

The Venice canal are some the most interesting place to know at the Los Angeles city. This area of Los Angeles have a lot of houses in small places, most of them near to those canals, with walks between them and the houses. Many of them are beautiful and stylish, with beautiful flower gardens, hottubs, barbecue grills etc. Over the canals also have beautiful bridges with arch forms, for use of cars and people. Certainly it is a good place to go, use spare times and enjoy it. I recommend it.

We came here while on a tour of LA and it was really fascinating to see these canals. The roads here are crazy narrow! Almost scary trying to go on the bridges. I see why many people have bikes and skateboards. It is worth a visit though, because you can walk by the homes and see the designs up close. Very beautiful.

The canals are a hidden gem. I've been here a couple of times and never see people walking around. It is a beautiful place to see in person as well as to take pictures. There are so many good spots. A plus is that it's free. The only bad thing is the parking, you're lucky if you find one on the stree, you really have to look for it or park in a parking lot.

This is a living area. Is it very quiet. Venice beach is public. Beautiful place. It is a Californiaโ€™s Venice canals inspiration. It is near Santa Monica. Or 25 mins drive (20 miles) from Los Angeles center.

Beautiful area to take a walk in. The canals are lovely and i really enjoyed looking at everything. There were also a lot of lovely cats. There are very cute bridges that connect everything. This is a residential area so there are no restaurants or restrooms, but itโ€™s only a short walk from venice beach

Stayed at an airbnb here for a day. The canal was very charming and beautiful. I loved watching the ducks and looking at the unique architecture. Walking across the pedestrian bridges at night with lit up houses and the sound of the ocean was magical!

Lived near here all my life and the droughts always made this area look terrible. Now that thereโ€™s water in these canals itโ€™s so unbelievably beautiful!

Our favorite neighborhood in Los Angeles. Unique, well maintained canal homes with many charming gardens. Near to the restaurants, shops and activities of Venice Beach but a totally different atmosphere.

Forget about visiting with one of the rental bikes from Venice beach. The path is quite narrow and you will most likely bother the pedestrians. For a twist try to visit at dusk so you get good light to enjoy the canals and a view of the night lightning from the neighbors. Keep in mind that the houses are private property and that there are actually people living there!!!

Adorable area and nice loop to take a stroll. Enjoyed the pretty Christmas lights on our evening stroll. And in the morning, we had nice stroll as well enjoying the beautiful homes and their garden, and the view.

In the heart of Venice, just a couple of blocks from Venice beach is this charming hidden place , perfect for a sunny morning walk. Very quiet during week days.

Venice Los Angeles wouldnโ€™t live up to itโ€™s Italian namesake very well if it werenโ€™t for these incredibly scenic canals. Located just off of the main Venice downtown, this network of canal-filled streets is a wonderful neighborhood to explore.

A nice place to visit and take photos. But a bit weird because I did not see any visitors or even residents living within this area like they did 2 years. What happened?? I came this morning, 8/11/2023 ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹(I biked there 3 times whenever I came to visit Santa Monica)

Cool piece of Los Angeles and Venice history. Happy to see water flowing in the canals now. Gives you a sense of how they were when they were up and running a long time ago.

Easily one of my favorite places on the west side, especially during the holidays. If you enjoy looking at beautiful homes and leisurely walks, this is a must. Right off Washington Blvd, there's lots of options for a bite or a drink right off the canals or you can continue on two blocks to the beach or the Venice boardwalk.

Tix not needed. Beautiful for an evening stroll with loved ones or someone special. Most of the bridges over the canals are decorated along with some of the barges. Please note the paths to the bridges are narrow and the bridges are steep as an FYI to the disabled. Walking paths run alongside private homes, also nicely decorated and the canal.

Nice place for walk along the canals. Venice beach is nearby. If you want to visit this place for Christmas decorations you may be disappointed only few houses were decorated.

Peaceful neighborhood. If you wanna have some serene walk, it would be perfect to be here. Just remember people live there so make sure to respect their place and don't be loud.

This is such a beautiful place to visit located close to the Venice beach. The entryway to this canal district is through a narrow alley between two houses. You can walk to this place from the beach and if you follow Google maps navigation to get here, you will arrive perfectly. I will highly recommend walking along the canals, seeing the cute houses - each one with a different architecture or decor style, the outdoor gardens are a visual delight and of course, the lovely bridges.

Been to Venice Beach many times, however not to the canals area. To my surprise it was a pleasant experience. I walked along the canals with some friends and crossed the many bridges that are laid out across the entire canals area. A gem not so hidden in the Venice Beach City.
