I came here for a drink & to check out live music on a Thursday evening. A total vibe. I would definitely come back.

We were so disappointed with this place. It is a beautiful romantic restaurant. I love the old decor and wood and white leather booths. But the food was dry and over cooked and didn't even come out looking great. The drinks were superb. The waiter was pretty much gone and not very customer service friendly. The folks in the lounge looked like they were having a way better time! Would probably go back for that side with live music but definitely not for the food.

We went there on a whim when were looking for a romantic place to have a nice meal. We found parking to be in a sketchy little lot with a guard watching something on his little TV, but at least he was there watching over the cars. Walking down into the restaurant was a challenge as the stairs are steep and the handrail is not super useful, but it is manageable if you take your time when you can't move quickly. However, once you go in, you are transported back to a different era where the seats are almost spread like a speakeasy and the wait staff is mostly on point. The waitstaff was really quite good to be honest. However,.... We got the crispy artichokes as an appetizer. They were not crispy, nor were they tasty. It was like they had been pickled, then frozen, then microwaved. They were inedible. As main course, we got sirloin and prime rib. The sirloin was tough as if it had been frozen, then thawed quickly, and grilled. The prime rib was fairly well done, if not seasoned. The mixed vegetables were clearly only broccoli and had been frozen as well. We decided to try a warm apple tart as dessert. That was soft, tasteless, and cold. We had several mixed drinks as well. If you can get through the over pour or the under pour, and the fact that the mixed drinks are $15 a piece, they aren't bad. I do recommend the chocolate martini. By the time we left, the place was hopping and very busy. The staff told us that reservations are always recommended after 5 on Friday and Saturday, but I don't see why. All in all, the food was gross but the service was good.

Very cool spot with tons of character and a friendly staff/crowd. The drinks might be a little weak, but the food is good and the entertainment is top-notch. Really enjoyed my visit!

Dinner had closed for the night which was disappointing. Dark & moody vibe, cool to check out & the staff were friendly.

Hey this place is an old school LA institution. solid bar drinks. great service. Dana is one of the bartenders there and Bonnie is one of the servers and they are always really great. Be sure to check the schedule because they close early on the weeknights.

Half dry but ok food, aggressive owner, waiters tossing menus/bread on the tables (but some waiters were sweet/helpful), and then in the end they refused to split the bill for 20 people. It was fun as an experience and we have a crazy story to tell, but never again 😂

Absolutely love this place! I was there last night for the first time. Definitely a good spot to sit at the bar and have some drinks. They also have food which I didn't try. They have a dinning area in the back. Also live music on Wednesday nights! Parking in the rear. The bartenders are polite and quick.

I love this spot and have been coming for years. The interior is beautiful. The vibe and music are great. They drinks are good and strong, and they're familiar with some rarer cocktails.

By far one of my favorite places to get a cocktail in LA. Fabulous staff, perfect Old Hollywood atmosphere, friendly staff and ownership, lux atmosphere and delicious drinks. An absolute MUST. ***** 5 STARS

Fantastic old school Hollywood. Plush white booths, massive tomahawk steak and great cocktails and thats just the dining room. Great wedge salad app and white cake for dessert. The bar and lounge also have a great atmosphere and drinks. All plus $6 valet parking in the rear. A winner

The Dresden was excellent in every way. We had reservations and we were seated immediately. The horseshoe shaped booths were very comfortable and spaced in such a way that we didn't conversations of others. The prime rib was cooked exactly how each of us liked it. We received service when we needed it, but the waiters were not intrusive. The meal was well paced- no entree' was served before we were all finished with our salads. It was a really nice experience!

I’m not saying the food was horrible but for such a beautiful place with good service that’s been around for so long, surely they can do better? The calamari was chewy and tasted a little fishy, the trout almondine was a little dry and didn’t taste super fresh and even my cacio e pepe wasn’t very good which requires minimal fresh ingredients. When the food I make at home tastes better than a beautiful place like this, there’s a problem.

My lamb chops were very basic old-school (6 rib chops, steamed broccoli, boiled new potatoes, grilled tomato), all prepared exactly right from the medium rare chops to fresh, lightly crunchy broccoli - simple and delicious. Only issue here was the stingy pours of chardonnay my wife was getting (she also said her chicken piccata was a little dry but otherwise very good). I skipped the uninteresting dessert menu for a Banana Alexander, which was great.

Took my mom here for her celebratory retirement dinner. Overall the experience was very good and we enjoyed ourselves and the dinner we had. The food had good flavor, was well done and great options. We got the Cacio de Pepe (very peppery and not heavy), the Ribeye Au Povire (was pretty fatty, cooked medium rare, sauce was incredible), the filet (nothing else to say but fantastic), and the veal marsala (a wonderful dish that gave you alot of veal!) the mashed potatoes were so creamy and delicious, We also ordered a few appetizers which each were a great addition, the caprese salad, french onion soup and the hit of the evening the fried artichoke hearts which came in the most delicious buttery white wine sauce. The ambiance of the place is perfect old Hollywood vibe, the booths and seating are extra cozy with dim lights and attentive servers. The bar area looked perfect for a romantic date night or special dinner with friends. A large piano sits in the center of the room where they have live music, unfortunately we did not have any as it was a Sunday. The parking in the area is hard to find since its in a residential area but they offer affordable valet parking in the back at a rate of $6, cant beat that in LA! Didn't give it a 5star as i have had much better meals elsewhere with the same ambiance, service and extras. But its a classic establishment that deserves a visit for a good night out.

Christmas at The Dresden is more or less Christmas at prison. The food is horrendous. But the service, that bartender named Mark F. (yes, that ’dude’ with the mustache) is one ruthless little pig. And this was today, Christmas Day, so imagine it on any other day… Seriously, the food has never been the Item here - this place has always been about the venue. And personally, we have had nice experiences over the years, but, with the service we received today, we are never setting foot there again. For those customers that do return over and over, however, please have some respect for them, hire a ‘real’ chef, and fire that SOB in your bar. Merry Christmas to you as well.

A very well made expresso martini was made here the other night and I had to give a shout out to the bar staff!! great work - great ambiance and I suggest getting here as early or as close to opening as possible - as this dining area around the music regions fills up very nicely and with lively patrons! I cannot wait to come back to The Dresden - its straight outta the 1950s (literally) and should be frequented frequently!

Love it! Definitely a reliable go to for great cocktails, atmosphere, service. The live music always kills. Had dinner here recently, the food and service were top shelf. My only qualm, there’s no wheelchair ramps into the dining area

I am old school. The music was not. I made a toast to Marty and Elaine as I took in the new sounds. I was surprised at how busy it was so early. Still great vibes, good drinks. Friends tell me the restaurant food is decent. But the music is sooo different. It was a different vibe. Not better not worse. Still interesting. Worth visiting again. I will be back.

Great, classic interior. I used to come here in the early 90s but I only saw the bar side. Never eat on the restaurant side and it was great. Top notch service, the menu had a good variety of dishes and the parking was fairly painless. Suggest that you get there when it opens at 5pm and also make reservations.

First of all this restaurant is my parents’ old time date reminisce. I brought my serendipity for our first date. The first welcome was fungi smell of the old bar… and those couches snug enough to embrace a couple close together… and the atmosphere was quite right. At the table no candle tho… Up to here I would say 75… Then we ordered our cocktails very old fashioned but we were old enough to enjoy them… the appetizer was escargot!!! The butter was not enough sauce was less savory… eventually the taste was so fishy!!! And the pasta was less cooked and just touched it once and returned and the rib eye steak - which was recommended.. thin as hell and too saucy and took 3 bites and returned. The garlic bread was mediocre either… We had great time because we didn’t get interested in the food but us. Please update your recipe and one more thing… two customers asked more napkins you should bring at least two sheets not one…. Also in the restaurant we are not using guys… we are using folks at least… As a master chef , as long as no update of your recipe, we will never ever come back. One thing we loved was the couch…that is the reason I can give 3 stars… If my girl reviews , it would be 17000 time’s critical than mine!!!

A great restaurant to come and eat. The food is okay but a little on the pricey side! This location is inside an iconic historic building and is a great piece of Hollywood history! If you like live music this is also a great place to come and enjoy the atmosphere and sit and listen to local artists and jazz bands. I recommend getting reservations ahead of time. It is a small place and it does fill up!

The vibe and live music do the magic. Cocktails are nice and not pricy. Food is good too for a bar.

my goodness the mid-week music is just...the musicianship of everyone they bring in. Addy Daddy and group blew out minds with funk and jazz galore. the drinks are top notch and despite how insanely packed the specialists knocked it out o the park

One of the classiest establishments that Los Feliz had to offer. The live jazz in the lounge is extraordinary and the cocktails are perfect. I treated myself to dinner alone one night and it didn’t not disappoint. The salmon was delicious and so was the wine. The ambiance is very fancy and you’ll just feel the old Hollywood glamour seep into every aspect of the experience! 10/10 recommend!

The $50 steak I got was barely edible. I ordered medium and it was practically raw. And mushy, bland. If it hadn’t been my buddies bachelor party I’d have sent it back but I didn’t want to make an issue so I basically wasted it. Sad.

This place reminds me of The Godfather movie. It has a similar feel. Even the staff act like you are in an Italian-American environment. The food is amazing and you get a lot for what you pay.

Very great sexy bar/restaurant. Super dark, 2 entries in back alleyway that makes it feel so cool and old school (that also seems to have great parking, might have to pay but better than looking around) The very cute/ nice bartender recommended me the yummiest blonde beer that I sadly cannot remember the name of, but it was so crisp, almost creamy and he poured it so perfectly! I only wish I had gotten food as well, this place looks like they'd have amazing steak lol but this only means I only have to come back which I'm totally not complaining! Also I love the vibes and crowd, like mid 20s-30s very classic, attractive with a touch of cool lol No one rowdy or crazy, so very good vibes around! Also multiple medium sized rooms for dining and/or bar so a cool place to just check out and have a different experience for dinner and drinks

Cool vibe all around, bar area is dark and has plenty of available seating. Perfect balance that you could go out with friends or on a date. Great cocktails and apps, the artichoke hearts were delicious, I'm definitely coming back to have dinner.
