the main part of the house is an incredible atmosphere with a high level of music. But patio seating doesn't make any sense, do you watch the show on TV? a jazz club of this level cannot do that to its customers, listening to live music is totally different than watching it on television. the patio area is just putting the level of a great jazz club at risk.

A lovely, cozy and intimate venue for amazing live jazz. I highly recommend reserving tickets ahead of time, and I recommend getting indoor seating. Inside, everything was a little pricey. The baked potato ($21) was pretty good but the drinks were underwhelming. The wines were mini bottles (187ml) instead of the half bottles (375ml). The other cocktails were just okay. Overall, however, the jazz was great! I’ll definitely go again just for the jazz and the ambiance, but not the drinks.

I love this place. Been going here for years. The Baked Potato is LA Music History! It's a small, intimate place to hear Jazz of all kinds: New Orleans, to Trad, to Latin, to Blues to Progressive. The performers are all with the top of their game. It's a pure delight to be able to go here. Music is 7 nights a week. Tickets may be purchased in advance on their secure website. Don't forget there's a two-drink minimum. And, hungry for the famous baked potatoes. A large menu of choices including the chef special of the day. The desserts are also very large and homemade Parking can be a challenge.

Love The Baked Potato! Such an intimate venue for some jazz music. First time coming tips: (1) come hungry so you can order one of their 20+ baked potatoes that are the size of your head, (2) pay for the seating inside so you're by the band, (3) show up early to get in line for better seat options, and (4) bring a light jacket as they keep it cool inside. The patio is a nice setup but you view the band view a live feed on a screen. Great friendly staff and an overall great experience!

All that matter to me is this: back in the 80's this was my dad's most favorite place to be. Jump ahead to 2016 when my beloved drummer Nick Menza died at this location onstage that he loved so much. That is why I love this place & always will because Nick is here forevermore.

Just the right size to make you feel like that ten piece group came to play jazz just for you and you personal friends. Every show is different and it’s even nice to see a few parents of young teens bringing them here to experience life and live music. The menu features a couple dozen Baked Potato entrees, with and without meats, they are filling, plus steaks and pastas. Of course great desserts. The well drinks, beers and wines are all affordable and there’s a full bar. What can I say, enjoy life, listen to some good music at one of Los Angeles’ iconic jazz venues.

Love this place, cool vibe, great music, various amazing musicians and an excellent outdoor patio. Over 20 variations on their Huge baked potatoes and fully stocked bar. Often see famous musicians hanging out to watch others play. Indoor space is like having a band play in your living room, very cool.

The Baked Potato is an excellent venue. The sound is mastered in this small building and gives you the full body experience of live music. Servers do a great job even though they are slammed. A simple cheese baked potato was fine and the drinks were as well. Ronnie Foster Trio was one of the best live shows I have been to. Look for parking around the corner if the side or front is full.

The “Patio” at the Baked Potato. A miserable experience. So the band/person you want to see in the main room is sold out and you see the patio option. JUST DON’T! It is a covered area in the alley 30 feet from the main room. There are some big screen TVs and terrible audio. The old KRK speakers, one in front 2 behind, not sure who thought of this idiotic configuration, sound like the tweeters are blown. The wait staff and others stand just outside the patio and smoke non-stop, so the entire room stinks from fresh cigarette smoke the entire time. Plus when I was there, several people were speaking full volume even after I asked them if they would mind whispering while the band was playing. I don’t know why someone pays $18.75 to sit and have a conversation while a band is playing and others who also paid for a ticket are trying to listen, but this is life in public spaces in 2024. Add the 2 drink minimum to this disaster and you have the most expensive, least pleasant arrangement to see live music on TV you can imagine. NEVER AGAIN. if I can’t get a ticket for main room seating, I’ll stay home and do something more enjoyable like have an argument or clean the bathroom.

The Baked Potato is a really fun venue! The staff was great and the intimate show room made it. The band was phenomenal. I didn’t try the food, but it smelled great! If you’re planning on walking up, check their website first to see if the show is ticketed since space can be limited.

Went for a performance of Billy Childs! Was a last minute decision so tickets were hard to come by! Got the patio seats but there was a TV there to show the inside performance .. not what we expected. They later moved us inside to a corner for an additional charge. The vibe was great and performance too! Loved the intimate setting but patio seats are not even worth the $15 charge, recommend to go if you get inside seating.

Recommend going an hour to 1.5 hours before your show so you can enjoy drinks and food before enjoying the music. Overall great vibe and yummy potatoes! (I got the egg & spinach potato in the photo)

Old School Jazz Club My wife and I was looking for the quintessential jazz club where the music is groovin' and heads moving. Luckily, we found the Baked Potato. When you purchase tickets be sure to sit inside so you can see the band and feel the music. The seating inside is cozy so be prepared to rub shoulders with a new friend. Here are a couple of tips to get the most of your experience: 1. Arrive early about 6:00 and purchase inside seating (seating is first come first serve) 2. If you arrive early you can park in one of the metered parking spaces in front of the club. The limit for the meters is 2 hrs and it's free after 8:00 so 6:00 is the perfect time. 3. Grab some ear plugs when you walk in. They are next to the masks. 4. Order a baked potato-They are huge so you may want to split one. 5. Go to the bathroom before the show begins 6. Order a few drinks and relax. Great venue, we will definitely go back!

Long standing small supper and jazz club. Small on the inside, good food, very friendly crowd, great jazz by the LA Jazz Band. Our server Logan was working very hard all night. We enjoyed my birthday celebration tonight. There is street parking only, no parking lot.

In search for a late night bite we came across this unforeseen gem - not only serving yummy food (ask for buffalo blue chicken) but also delivering high end entertainment. Fantastic jazz!

Facility: We drive from Orange County 45minutes to come here. Stood in line for 50 minutes. We went to see Michael landau. I didn’t get a picture but I wish I would have because they say this place is pint sized but they also don’t mention the seating area is crammed together. There are two seating areas, in front of the stage which that area is about 25’ x 25’ and the stage takes up about 1/3 of that area. The seating there is crammed like 6” of walking space between tables. The other seating area is a cave, I couldn’t see how much space it had. I saw people mention a patio but I don’t think there is one. It is very intimate but there is no dance floor. Service: There were two females working that night and the dark haired girl was working hard, however, we got the blond and she was terrible. We wanted a potato and she asked at the beginning but never came to ask what we wanted. We had to ask the dark haired girl to get our waitress two times. I saw the blond leave the building twice…..awful service. I will never go back or recommend this place. Music: I watched some videos of Michael landau on YouTube and his music sounded good. Bluesy rock it seemed like. However, they played 3 psychedelic jazzy rock stuff (I have no idea what it was some fusion jazz-rock I guess) all three of those songs sounded exactly alike! There was maybe two other bluesy rock songs but I was greatly disappointed. My husband is a Hendrix fan & thought the show was pretty good. I am a southern blues girl so I was none impressed. Recommendation: KNOW for sure you want to see the performer. Don’t expect to dance to the music. Don’t expect quality service or attention.

I took my nephew here to check out some blues and we were blown away by the amazing talent the band possessed. It's a small venue and they do charge for admission. I would advise anyone to buy tickets online before you go so you know you have a seat. Their baked potatoes are no joke, either! These things are the size on a person's head and they have many different options. I got the sauteed mushrooms, tomato and cheese. It was delicious! There is a 2 drink minimum. Photography and video recording is not allowed during the performance.

Simon Philips Review First let me say with the lack of live music places in Los Angeles from a jazz point of view we are so lucky to have baked potato! It was so great to see one of my favorite drummers last night known for playing with all of the greats from Jeff Beck to Peter Townsend. Despite his tremendous body of familiar work last night we heard none of it? There wasn’t even a guitar player!! A couple of months ago Tony Levin from King Crimson played at the baked potato and despite his tremendous body of work we heard none of it? Perhaps it has to do with The music unions. Perhaps it has to do with musicians ego. Or perhaps it’s a combination of the two. While I thoroughly enjoyed both shows, there is something extremely white bread and conservative about the music at Baked Potato. When you take the skills of Simon Phillips who is one of the best pocket drummers of all time and remove the groove, the funk, the back beat? I’m sorry baked potato you don’t get !! When I’m listening to soft keyboard ballads at 11:30 at night with the great Simon Phillips on drums I’m sorry baked potato you don’t get it! The audience deserved a Freeway jam or anything by Jeff Beck, It’s a no-brainer! The next time this happens, I’m bringing friends and we will happily shout out the names of songs we WOULD EXPECT TO HEAR. Baked Potato needs to get some SOUL!!!

Went here for the first time but was my second time at a jazz club. The food was amazing, especially the apple pie. The jazz was great of course, and atmosphere/decorations were a great vibe. The selection of baked potatoes is varied, maybe could have used more seasoning. Hoping to come back for sure! Sad that the pie doesn't count as a two drink minimum

Very cozy place for jazz. Incredible baked potatoes. Try the blue cheese chicken. Historical setting. Loved Don Randi and Crew. Was there for Don's. Happy Birthday. Remember "The Wrecking Crew"? Everyone so congenial, too.

Amazing place! Got to watch amazing musicians in a cool atmosphere. We initially booked a place in the patio thinking it wouldn’t be THAT far from the stage but it turns out that patio is a completely separate part of the place, and you can only see the musicians on a tv screen, as if you are watching something at home. We changed our places by upgrading our ticket, luckily they had space inside for us still otherwise it wouldn’t have worth it. Overall, I had a great time!

This is one of THE premiere jazz spots in LA. Was fortunate enough to catch Danny Jankilow here. It was sensational, they started a little late, but I was able to enjoy one of their baked potatoes. It was an absolutely sold out show and fairly small, so get your tickets early. It’s definitely worth it to show up early since it is first come first serve. Will definitely be back, very cozy spot.

I went to see the Scott Kinsey quartet and it was a fantastic vibe. I did not eat since I had just had dinner but the baked potatoes the other costumers had looked pretty incredible. The only drawback I'd point out is I was just besides a PA speaker and the bass was so loud that it was crackling through the speaker the whole concert. And I love the bass player, I have nothing against the band. Just something that annoyed me.

Free parking behind the venue or across the street. Shows start 30-45 min after call time. When there's two shows in one night they do it theme park style where the first show vacates for the next. Some people from the first showing stayed for the second. Any seat indoor is front row. Kentucky mules and some psychedelic blues from Philip Sayce was a great time!

Carms, myself and a couple friends went to go see the Cosmo Squad a couple weeks ago. I had never been myself, so rather curious to see what it was like. There's a small bar in the corner, seating around a stage, and dinner service during the show. In all, the place is small and rather intimate. The baked potato i has was amazing, the show was brilliant and cocktails nice. If your in the area, do swing by for a show. Its awesome.

Highly recommended. Nice intimate club that features electric jazz and rock. Huge selection of baked potatoes with various toppings. Close to several hotels. Music is nightly with many well known local players. This visit we saw Brand X bassist Percy Jones with his new experimental band. Wonderful night. Will definitely visit again.
