Review
First
let
me
say
with
the
lack
of
live
music
places
in
Los
Angeles
from
a
jazz
point
of
view
we
are
so
lucky
to
have
baked
potato!
It
was
so
great
to
see
one
of
my
favorite
drummers
last
night
known
for
playing
with
all
of
the
greats
from
Jeff
Beck
to
Peter
Townsend.
Despite
his
tremendous
body
of
familiar
work
last
night
we
heard
none
of
it?
There
wasn’t
even
a
guitar
player!!
A

Tony
Levin
from
King
Crimson
played
at
the
baked
potato
and
despite
his
tremendous
body
of
work
we
heard
none
of
it?
Perhaps
it
has
to
do
with
The
music
unions.
Perhaps
it
has
to
do
with
musicians
ego.
Or
perhaps
it’s
a
combination
of
the
two.
While
I
thoroughly
enjoyed
both
shows,
there
is
something
extremely
white
bread
and
conservative
about
the
music
at
Baked
Potato.
When
you
take
the
skills
of
Simon
Phillips
who
is
one
of
the
best
pocket
drummers
of
all
time
and
remove
the
groove,
the
funk,
the
back
beat?
I’m
sorry
baked
potato
you
don’t
get
!!
When
I’m
listening
to
soft
keyboard
ballads
at
11:30
at
night
with
the
great
Simon
Phillips
on
drums
I’m
sorry
baked
potato
you
don’t
get
it!
The
audience
deserved
a
Freeway
jam
or
anything
by
Jeff
Beck,
It’s
a
no-brainer!
The
next
time
this
happens,
I’m
bringing
friends
and
we
will
happily
shout
out
the
names
of
songs
we
WOULD
EXPECT
TO
HEAR.
Baked
Potato
needs
to
get
some
SOUL!!!
