Beautiful scenery. 18 bucks to park. Suggest to go early. Rented bikes for two hours for 24 bucks. Easiest way to go if you want to go see everything. Definitely rent the lock for it. Plenty of little souvenir stores , street performers and a skate park. About two miles down is the Santa Monica pier. Like a year long carnival with rides.

For those living outside of California in colder states, I highly recommend visiting Venice Beach during the winter season. We came here a week before Christmas and the weather was beautiful. It wasn't too hot or cold here and we enjoyed spending a few days at the beach with the kids. There was plenty of free parking and not too many people on the beach. The water was normal compared to ocean water in the Pacific Northwest. The only thought I had was why I don't come here every Christmas season because it really is a great place for a week's vacation.

I've known this place for decades and it has changed quite a bit. This last visit was super pleasant. Less homeless, more public weed smoking. A bit of a tourist trap but super cool to have a rainbow life guard station, I love diversity and messing with homophobic tourist! Go Venice!

Coming first to LA, Venice Beach was my favorite place to visit. The sense of freedom, awe, and excitement was undescriptible. This is the place I would definitely recommend you to visit if you are travelling around California or find LA is too cold and widespread. I rented a bicycle and rode for hours along the beachside, and it was the most wonderful experience. The water was too cold to swim, but the atmosphere was incredible.

Iconic place of LA. We liked the beach itself but homeless and weird people are everywhere and many are trying to sell you doubtful things.

Wow. Experiences such beautiful views and a wonderful time. Rode motor bikes along the beach and it felt like a movie. It didn’t come out pricey at all. So much food places available! Stores for shirts and other memorabilia. There’s parking places available but you do have yo pay, however, it’s right on the beach. There is a lot of people selling, performing, and just there. Pet friendly. They do have a renting place for scooters and bikes but there are other ones on the street. We used those for less. Soooo pretty.

Venice Beach Board walk , Skate Park , Street Performers , Artists and sun tanners all like Venice Beach. Venice Beach is relatively clean for a busy beach. There are vendors selling food, collectibles , shirts , skating and general sun items. Take a two mile romantic walk along the Venice Canals. Designed to mimic the Venice Canals they were created here over 100 years ago. Venice Beach is a destination.

Beautiful clean beach for the family to enjoy. There are some great facilities, bike rental and shops there too. Parking is a little expensive but much like other attractions in the area.

If you think Santa Monica beach is too packed, here is nice place to enjoy sunshine with family, swim and surf. Along with beach, there are stores and restaurants you could buy souvenirs and taste seafood. Also, if a sporty guy, you could play basketball, train yourself with outdoor gym or muscle beach, skate at skate park with many masters or play paddle tennis. You could also bring your dogs there to play with throwing ball on the beach and sea or with other dogs. It would be a lot of fun for both pets and owners. As a photographer, there are abundance of good spots for you to take sea views and sunset with various aspects. Due to little sandbars close to beach, it happens with interesting forms of waves. It's fun to chase the waves and wander on them. However, sometimes, several sales would hold their stuffs and stop pedestrians to promote their products. It adds some annoyance to your leisure. Overall, it's a wonderful site for families, travelers, pet owners, athletes to have good good time.

Nice place! Was looking forward to visiting it! Atmosphere is great, from the outdoor gym, to the skateboard parks ! The only disappointing thing is huge concentration of homeless people, but I guess that comes with it.

The beach was dirty and there are homeless living on the strip. There are different vendors selling the same clothes, bags, food, etc. except the prices are different. The best thing about the beach was skateboard area. There are very few restaurants to choose from if you want to sit down and eat. The rest of the food are sold by different vendors with their own carts. It’s best to take an Uber there because parking is very limited and full.

Venice Beach is beautiful and the vibe is perfect. There's something for everyone. You may come to do shopping, walking around, or simply see all the street artists and views. We had a beautiful sunny day, blue skies and the palm trees that looks amazing.

The midday experience was nothing extraordinary. Multiples food options. Various other shops. Anyone really recommending tasting something from there? I didn’t really enjoy the bacon dog either. Mhhh… need to experience it at sunset next time and see how it goes!

I love Venice Beach and go every time I’m in LA. Super fun vibe, gorgeous beaches and beautiful palm trees. There are free public restrooms every couple of hundred yards, and it’s pretty clean. Love it here winter and summer! A must for tourists

Venice Beach is an absolute gem along the Southern California coastline. From the moment you step onto the iconic Venice Boardwalk, you're greeted with a lively atmosphere and a diverse tapestry of sights, sounds, and experiences. The beach itself is wide and inviting, offering a perfect setting for a leisurely stroll or a relaxing day in the sun. The crashing waves and the salty breeze provide a quintessential beach experience. Whether you're into beach volleyball, sunbathing, or just enjoying the Pacific Ocean views, Venice Beach has it all. Now, let's talk about the Venice Boardwalk – it's a sensory overload in the best possible way. From talented street performers showcasing their skills to artists displaying their masterpieces, every step is a new discovery. The street vendors add to the eclectic vibe, offering everything from unique handmade crafts to mouthwatering street food. Muscle Beach is a fitness lover's paradise, where you can watch or join in on outdoor workouts and weightlifting. It's a hub of energy and motivation, surrounded by the laid-back beach atmosphere. The Venice Canals, a short walk away, provide a serene contrast to the lively boardwalk. The picturesque canals lined with charming houses make for a tranquil escape, and it's a great spot for a leisurely stroll or a romantic boat ride. The skate park is another highlight, attracting skaters from all skill levels. Watching the impressive tricks and flips is both entertaining and a testament to the vibrant subcultures that call Venice Beach home. Now, let's not forget the sunsets – they are absolutely breathtaking. Finding a spot along the beach to watch the sun dip below the horizon is a must-do, and the vibrant colors reflecting on the water create a perfect moment of tranquility. Venice Beach is a place of contrasts – vibrant yet laid-back, eclectic yet charming. It's a microcosm of the diverse and creative spirit of Los Angeles. Whether you're a local looking for a weekend hangout or a visitor seeking the true essence of SoCal living, Venice Beach should be at the top of your list. It's a unique blend of art, culture, and coastal beauty that captures the heart and soul of this iconic beach destination.

Iconic stretch of California beaches and piers. Palm lined streets lead to a meandering boardwalk that paralells the Pacific Ocean. Rent bikes and cruise the boardwalk, grab a to-go order from any nearby restaurant and dine with your toes in the sand. Stick aroud in the evening for a showstopping sunset before plunging into the nighlife scene. Dizzy Duzz Venice Beach!!

One of my Southern California Beaches... packed with friendly people, people that perform, people that wish to see a wonderful west coast beach, people that enjoy being around lots of others, people that wish to make memories... Venice Beach is a plus, in my book. Always loved it here.. and still do. Thanks.

Venice took a hit during the pandemic. I love to see that it is cleaned up and smelling fresh like the ocean again. I pray, for all of the people affected, including the homeless population. But Venice Beach is thriving and beautiful once again!

I visited Venice Beach and it's almost as if nothing out of the ordinary was going on here. Skaters are going to skate. Junkies are going to be junkies. Mask or no mask. Nothing really changed in this area. I can't say if I like it or dislike it. We shall see. What I can say is that the vibe on Venice Beach is electric. Nothing else compares to it. I loved it. I'll be back.

Special atmosphere. However, the place is neglected. There are restaurants on the beach and lots of stalls, most of them sell clothes with dirty words. Lots of homeless people but they did not contact us. Lots of graffiti, people skating on a skateboard. It is recommended to come here only during the day. At night the place is scary.

Very busy and popular beach 🏖 lots of things going on, lots of different live music, a lot of shops and restaurants. I was really pleasantly surprised on November 2021 i didn't see as many homeless people as they talk about on TV. Public Restrooms are pretty dirty unfortunately.

Beautiful beach. Cool vibes. Do all your favorite beach activities - lay out, play in sand, swim, surf, walk down the beach! Gorgeous rock formations. Lots of shopping, food joints, and beach side bars. When we went they were very strict on Covid vaccine cards and masks to enter the locations. Heads up!

This is the place to be with so much to do and so many things to see. Parking was super easy on street but if there isn’t space, you can guarantee there is a parking lot available. The sand is fairly clean and the general area not too bad. The skate park is great if you just like to watch the skilled attempts of those skating. There’s many places to eat and drink if that’s your thing.

A nice beach with soft sand that is great for sitting and watching and listening to the waves. Also great for people watching or if you like to watch surfers do their thing. The beach has a great boardwalk with many shops and places to eat. There are still some homeless and shady characters here and there so it is good to be wary of your surroundings at all times. Overall thought, it seems mostly safe and a great place for couples to have a good time.

Loved every minute of my time there. Spent the day with wife and kids on a Saturday. Got there around 11. Got really busy and live around 1. Many cool vendors, items and food for sale at an affordable price, performers, and sights to see. Not to mention the beach is relaxing although there were a lot of people, everyone is chill. There were some homeless but isn't too bad tbh.

Otherwise a nice place, unfortunately occupied by local homeless and drug addicts. I'd be afraid to sit anywhere here. I can't imagine it in the evening, I'd describe it as a dangerous place with a concentration of criminals.

This beach is always fun. While visiting L.A. with my teen children, I thought it would be a nice experience for them. They enjoyed the food, vendors, and eclectic local artwork. We didn't go for the ocean. We just went to people watch and hang out.

It's very peaceful at night here, even with the bars open nearby. There's plenty of space to be on your own and very few people out anyway. I recommend taking a blanket and chairs, but whatever it takes for you to relax comfortable and enjoy the sound of the wind and waves at night! It gets breezy and even the same is cold at night!

Great place to take people when they come to LA area on a Saturday or Sunday for street entertainment. It seems to be back to normal now that the homeless have been removed and are being kept out. Lots of street vendors, foods, tats, weirdos, to see. You need to find a parking place and make sure you don't leave anything in view and lock your vehicle. It has skateboard park muscle beach weight lifting, bicycle/rollerblade boardwalk, large sand beach.

How can you not love Venice Beach?! There's something here for everyone. Water, sand, stores, food, skating, biking, street vendors, art, music, and so much more! The only thing I can say I don't like is the bathrooms, but the city is doing a pretty good job at keeping the toilet paper stocked at least (they didn't used to be so great at it). Had to take a star away because many of the locks on the bathrooms are broken (but I know the city isn't the main blame here) PRO TIP- always knock and s l o w l y open those bathroom doors, just in case

Venice beach has changed quite a bit since COVID, but still maintains its uniqueness and charm at the same time. Tons of homeless people around, which is really sad and speaks to the city’s huge problem that needs some real attention. Other than that, the boardwalk is still fun to walk down and with the borders being back open, tourists are coming back. Basketball courts are always popping and the skatepark too. If you’re looking for some nice beaches, good restaurants and the insanity that is the Venice beach boardwalk, come visit!

I did a girls trip to California and Venice Beach was one of our stops. We took the Metro train from Los Angeles to Santa Monica and did an Uber to the beach. We had a great time and we didn't even get in the water! There are a number of dining options on the strip and the nearby streets. We did some souvenir shopping in one of the many shops on the strip as well. There was a lot going on. There were different performers, a whole show with live entertainment, and what looked like a basketball tournament going on too. The beach was nice. Watch out for the seaweed and clams all over. Water was pretty cold (we dipped our toes in), but seemed to warm up over time. Lots of good picture spots, especially near the rocks on the North side of the beach. Overall a great stop if you're in Cali.

One of the most iconic places of Los Angeles. Wide beach, white sand, and beautiful views of the ocean. The place definitely has character. But unlike in the movies, the reality of it is a bit darker. Dodgy people trying to sell you stuff, big dogs barley under control by their owners, and the smell of weed all over the place.

If you are wondering is it worth to come here or not, the answer will be : it definitely worth your time especially if you are a tourist. You should plan 2 - 3 hours exploring and enjoying this beach. First of all it's called Venice beach but its nothing like Venice in Italy, once you consider this fact you will enjoy each moment, because there was many of comments complaining that it's not like Venice the city !!. It's just a name so stop comparing. I recommend to plan your visit before 3-4 hours of sunset time, so you could catch many activities that locals do there, like yoga and ski boarding and in muscle beach you would find people practicing there workouts. Also while you're walking don't forget to take a look at the small shop all the way long if you are the kind who like souvenir. Finally before sunset time go towards the sea and witness the gorgeous view of sunset.

Must go place when you go to LA. I visited when was MLB sport event.Overpriced shops all around and homless that make the the place look bad in the south side. On the north you have much better places visit with places to eat and have fun.

Beautiful beach to enjoy a nice day with family. Plenty of parking available. Public restrooms and showers are available. There are many restaurants and shops along the shore.

Beautiful walking area and has a lot of cool art, sights and weirdos to keep you entertained. Very safe to walk around.

It's a nice place to go with friends! Some people play volleyball at the beach. Also, along the beach, there are many stores where you could take a look.

Late upload! Love that there is a lot of good choices of food around. Stores are a bit expensive (but hey tourist area!) went on a stroll and my sister and I loved it i love seeing musicians around! Although a lot of homeless people, still a nice place to visit.

Super great cultural experience!! One of the street jams we watched was a little pushy on donations. We just turned it into a teaching moment for a child.

Lovely place to be. Small Broadway with shops, a skatepark, police station and a restroom can be found here. Can be very crowded during summer and other peak times so I suggest people with cars to visit Malibu beach where there's cleaner water for swimming.

Amazing place to walk around at sunset. Enjoyed watching the skateboarders at the skatepark and bikers zipping by on the path. Everything felt alive. Love this beach!

Just so much to do. Just a mixture of everything. Muscle beach and the b ball courts where movies were filmed. A ton of souvenir shops and restaurants. Parking is fairly easy. Some people performing on the strip in front of beach. There's a skate park. I really love coming here each time I travel to California. Also pet friendly

It was exactly like how I expected it to be… plenty of characters. We came by early on a cloudy morning, so there weren’t many people around. Very cool to watch the skateboarders though.

Huge beach front with designated swim and surf areas. Muscle beach and the skate park are right there and lots of local charm in the walking/bike path. Some street parking around too. Iconic views of LA

Glad I got the opportunity to go while in area. If only I was 25 years younger!!!! 🤪😵‍💫☁️😢. While walking there were strange sweet smells in the air 😉. Lots of vendors and shops loved the skate area. Could have watched all day.

A beautiful beach, especially at sunset. The view is great, it doesn't often get too crowded, it's very well kept, and water doesn't get too deep unless you go really far out so it's safe for kids. An absolute must if you are visiting LA and enjoy an afternoon at the beach.

Was hoping to see Arnold pumping iron, but it was fun anyway. The water was beautiful. The restrooms were NOT!

Insanely lively and bustling with activity in every direction. Definitely worth at least a visit from anyone in the area but the crowds might not be for everyone

This was a wonderful experience. The only advice I would say is that atvh out for the t-shirt ships. The ones that print any design there is one that is amazing and the older guy who runs it is honest, then there is the second one we went too which tried to charge us 280$ for a single sweater. We are fighting with our bank right now to get the charge reversed save your money and buy from a local artist instead. Otherwise this is a beautiful place and as long as your on your toes, you'll be just fine

Gorgeous place while the sun is up. Not a safe feeling at night. The beach is amazing.

Great place , nice beach to walk and relax. Lots of homeless but I think is normal for USA

This “famous” beach is not even close to what you see (portrait) in movies, dirty, smell awful, a bunch of homeless, not safe at all, no police enforcement close by, parking expensive, not worth the time!
