Definitely a hidden gemπŸ’Ž in DTLA. Really enjoyed this easy trail. There's more than one trail to hike but all give you the same beautiful view. Parking is free and available. There's a small amphitheater and restrooms 🚻are right next to it. The park stays open after sunset. Nice trail in Eastside LA to catch the sunset πŸŒ‡ or night πŸŒƒ. Definitely felt safe hiking at this park. After you park choose the dirt trail to the left going up the hill for the best capture πŸ“Έ.

I understand why people call this spot a hidden gem. You can choose your own adventure with so many branched out trails. You could probably come here 10 times and never take the same route twice. We went by way of the West Ridge trail which has a spectacular panoramic view of downtown and a glimpse of the snowcapped mountains. Very clean trails. There are two lots with ample parking and public restrooms.

Ascot Hills is one of my favorite parks in LA. As the name suggests, it is a hilly park with hiking trails. Habitat restoration is underway, and the native plants attract a wide variety of birds and other wildlife. Expect to see coyotes, especially early in the morning. The best times to go are at sunrise or sunset. Spectacular views of downtown LA.

Excellent park with hiking trails and moderate incline hills. Dogs must be on a leash. Not a good a idea to bring your dog in a hot day. Very clean and well maintained park. Excellent DTLA views. Bring enough water.

Nice hike, that gives a nice view of DTLA. The hills can be very steep but they can be walked up, with a few breaks. I saw some coyotes when I went close to sundown but they were just crossing the road. Enough people go there that you are not alone but don't feel overcrowded. I took my dog and he enjoyed it.

Loving avery bit of it. Took a late walk one day and heard several coyotes. It was a bit scary but thankfully no encounters. Be on the look out! For all lose dogs. During the mornings there's more movement, than later afternoons.

This is a beautiful place with astonishing hills. This a multipurpose park. You can walk, run, take the dog, and even have a picnic. Beware, a lot of people aren't using masks and often travel in large groups. There is also quite a bit of poop on the trail that is being left by irresponsible dog owners. The inclines on the trails range easy to steep! No matter you're level, you can easily test yourself here. If you're in the area, stop on by. The location offers quite a view of downtown. I recommend either sunset or sunrise.

Love this place. Unfortunately now there too many ppl around. But can definitely get a nice hike if you come in 15 minutes before 6am. Lots of wild life. Dogs are allowed. Just make sure you have them in your leash. And please pick up your dogs waste, there's plenty of trash πŸ—‘ cans around. This place has a easy, modern and challenging trails. Enjoy πŸ˜‰

Great place, always find parking, very open place. Probably 1/10 people use a mask (March 2021). Lots of dust, so your shoes will get dirty. View is great to see downtown LA. Sunsets are very pretty (thank you smog and fires) and opposite the sunset, on a full moon you will see purple and blue tones. Coyoted come out at night as well as bunnies. Mosquitos come out as well if it has been a rainy season, which will also generate a lot of mud. A lot of different trails. Overall, great place to go.

Ascot Hills Park is a 2.1 mile heavily trafficked looped trail located near Lincoln Heights section of East LA that features wild flowers and plants. It has a good view of DTLA, Dodgers stadium and the SGValley. It’s made mostly of hills with an elevation gain of 567 ft. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, running, and nature trips and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash. One of the hills you’ll see a private Broadcasting Station riddled with antennas. IMHO was cool. The trail itself is considered moderate, therefore it’s perfect for novice hikers. Hence, it’s popular among locals and can get crowded and some do follow masking protocol. Parking lot is free. Overall, it has good hilly trails and perfect for a short quick hike. I recommend AHP.

Ascot Hills offers very good, level hiking trailsfor a workout but with a spectacular view of downtown. The heavy winter rains brought a super bloom of flowers. It's beautiful. Easy parking and bathrooms available.

Quiet area, both challenging and not so challenging trails, very nice views of DTLA as well, and very clean as well. Parking is never an issue and bathrooms are usually open, clean and stocked.

Ascot Hills have one of the best views of Downtown LA. I have been there a few times at the evening and the sunset with the backdrop of LA is just majestic. Parking is ample and it’s never crowded. It’s a hidden gem.

Ascot Hills Park is hardly of interest to tourists or even locals but it is quite a hidden gem! Great views for hikers and trail runners who enjoy a little hilly adventure. The only official entrance to the park is at the south tip, where the road leads to the main parking space. There are basically three trails in the park, the east and west sides each has a loop trails that are hillier, the central trail remains in the valley and connects to the east and west trail through steep trails. Ascot Reservoir occupies the north side of the park and there is no official exit route, although there is indeed a backdoor trail goes from the west side of the reservoir to the residential area behind the hill.

Great place for a hike you would never know you were so close to the city until you climb the trails to the top of the hills, it gives the impression you were in another part of region..

this hike is NOT for the weak, definitely not a beginner trail. it is a beautiful view though and an enjoyable walk . im sure if i were more in shape it would’ve been a breeze. hills are STEEP but you feel accomplished after getting to the top. just beware of wildlife like snakes and coyotes. a lot of cute bunny rabbits tho.

Nice park just outside the city. Usually much quieter than Griffith or State historic in Chinatown - but less kept. Good views of the city if you walk up the hills! Not a lot of tree coverage on the hills, so can be hot during the day. Beautiful in spring when everything is green!
