Great looking park from a reasonable distance. A little dirty up close. And all the gorgeous wildlife gets a little scary upon closer inspection, such as massive bird creatures that look like they could beat up my dad. Would still recommend checking it out.

It's a nice park, however, the tables are dirty and large homeless encampment are pervasive. I reached out to the city for services and hope they follow through. The wildlife stand outs through its ecological diversity; you will see geese, turtles, birds, cranes and other forms! There's a playground with an enclosure and plenty of room to fish.

Who would thought there could be such a charming park right next to the busy highway! The park has beautiful green space along a slope, on top of which you'll get a nice view of the lake and its two active fountains. The park is mostly for relaxing so it only has a playground and some picnic tables. A walk around the lake would be a fantastic way to get some steps, although it may not be the best stroll since it's next to the highway. There are a couple of restroom facilities in the park but they look quite rundown.

Loved this park. It's a great park for kids to play around and it's a great location for a walk or even a jog. Not to mention all the friendly ducks that love eating rice. I make it a point to always bring rice or bread and feed the ducks with my siblings. Parking is very limited as when I got there, all parking spots were taken in the parking lot, it was a miracle it was even open. Parking in the parking lot only allows you up to 3 hours. Street parking is out of the question as there are never any spaces.

Peaceful park to walk around and let kids play in playground. There's ducks and squirrels and a skate park. Also big trees to cover the sun and catch some shade on those hot days or get a tan.

I noticed that now we have some homeless living right under the bridge. Well there goes exercising at the park. Not to mention all the other druggies in the bathrooms and the ones back on that hill trespassing the wire fence. Why is de Leon ignoring this literally up the street from his offices.

Hi, community... sadly this park has been deteriorating, I knew that a lot of movies Co they paid a lot of money to record movies here, I wonder, why they don't use that money to improve this great park! That was beautiful ( not anymore ) the park is dirty, the water stinks, a lot of homeless... I shout to the community... Pls, pls help to save this park🙏

Beautiful little park tucked away. Definitely some noise from the freeway literally passing through the park, but it’s still pretty peaceful.

Very nice park to come and have a picnic, many might think it’s dirty and there is homeless but literally everyone minds their own business there was no homeless near on the side of the park , sat in the shade and enjoy watching the ducks 😊 nice breeze! finding parking might take about 5-10 minutes or so depending what day you go !

One of my favorite park!. It's perfect for skaters and kids. Not so great for meditation in the evening times though, there's a guy who circles around the park over and over blasting music. Although morning and early afternoon can be good!

It's cool to take a stroll during the day, and feed the ducks! I don't suggest going at night. Not that I've been there at night. But just to be safe

Nice park. Nice place to exercise and take dogs. Cleanliness is probably hard due to the people who live in the park. But well kept under the circumstances.

Great park and asset for the neighborhood. I walk my dog here. There’s a lake, skate park, fitness stations, mature trees, and open spaces. The park workers really do a good job, I’ve started saying hello in passing. One newer hire Ernesto stands out because he’s a hard worker who seems passionate about making the park shine bright. The only downside to the park is the homeless cling to the outer edges at night. It’s a shame because they generally show disregard for the park by dumping trash and waste in the lake and starting fires. This seems to be a SoCal problem though and not unique to this park.

This park is actually an amazing park with plenty of picnic benches, lots of grass and trees to provide shade on a hot day, a beautiful lake with a bridge crossing, a fairly new playground (although I wish it would get cleaned up a bit), lots of ducks, geese, fish, turtles, squirrels and other wildlife. Cons: During the summer, the grass tends to be pretty dry and brown. Homeless encampments along the outskirts and it tends to be a bit sketchy from dusk onwards. I would love to see more events and activities, especially on weekends for the kids!

"It's very important to take care of yourself. Everyone's lives are so busy. Take at least an hour a day to recharge and do whatever makes you better. For grown-ups, whether it's a spa, sitting in a park with a book, or coffee, take time for yourself." – Ana Ivanovic “In the presence of nature, a wild delight runs through the man, in spite of real sorrows.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson “Keep close to Nature’s heart… and break clear away, once in a while, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean.” – John Muir “Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and winds long to play with your hair.” – Kahli Gibran "Joy comes from places you least expect it. It's usually the simple things, like watching my son play basketball or going through Central Park when the blossoms are blooming." – Dave Gahan "I like to take walks in the park by myself, where no one can bother me and I can think." – Magic Johnson "If you drive to, say, Shenandoah National Park, or the Great Smoky Mountains, you'll get some appreciation for the scale and beauty of the outdoors. When you walk into it, then you see it in a completely different way. You discover it in a much slower, more majestic sort of way." – Bill Bryson "What I want to do with my film making is help kids experience the truth and wisdom of nature no matter where they are, whether or not they have the opportunity to go to a national park." – Louie Schwartzberg "My perfect weekend is going for a walk with my family in the park. I don't think there's anything better." – Anne Wojcicki "The outdoors, the beautiful environment, both in fresh and salt water. And the thing that concerns me is the amount of kids that stand on street corners, or go into pinball parlours, and call it recreation." – Rex Hunt

Beautiful park for walking and playing. There is a small lake with ducks and geese with fountains out in the middle. The playground is adventurous for children. Picnic tables and shade trees are available. This is a hidden gem in L.A!

Very nice local park for being its located under/near a freeway ramp. However it does have a lot of trash as well. Would like to see a cleaner habitat for the ducks..but still a nice place to take a walk or go for a run. They also have a workout area and lots of stairs too.

I love hollenbeck park. The first time I saw it I thought my god this is heaven on earth! children were playing soccer, birds were singing, the sun was setting. Peace, Harmony, and all around good vibes. It was a truly magical (wink wink) experience. I definately recommend going and watching the sun set over the east LA. There are is an incredible diversity of plants and birds in this park so if you're a nature nerd like I am you'll appreciate watching all the different birds that congregate on the man made lake. There is also a bridge that is designed to rise and fall with the tides which can be romantic to stand on with your S/O. I highly recommend this park it's truly a delightful place to spend an afternoon.

It's very beautiful and we were able to gave a nice family picnic! The girls went over to feed the ducks right after. With this heat, were planning to eat dinner at the park at least once a week!

Has a lot of potential! Needs parks and recreation to come by and do some cleaning! The lake/pond is not large enough to frighten the inexperienced jogger; otherwise, it is a nice place on a cool sunny day.

  • 3/5 Raul V. 7 months ago on Google
Beautiful park lots of ducks , workout machines , major problem is homeless encampments and littering i have witnessed at least 7 animals dead in august 2023

This park gets a five because of sentimental feelings I have for it I have been going since I was a kid it is maybe not the best park but it is big and there's lots to do and it is really cool I love it and I've always loved it since I was a kid the area is not the best but if you're just there to have fun in mind your own business that's what will happen if you are there looking for problems you can probably find that too

I love that this park is close enough to walk to easily... When I'm having a bad day or need to just get out and think I luv grabbing a loaf of bread and going there to feed the geese, ducks and pigeons... Puts me in a better mood every time

This park has a lot of little details that make for an amazing day there. Swans and ducks in the pond, a outdoor stage, restrooms, playground and open picnic area ;all are fun. Though warning swan or even ducks can be mean. The pond is a good safe distance from the playground.

This park needs more lighting, trash bins, and lawn insecticide care. Would be nice to sit on lawn without a hive of little insects flying in hives around us.

This park can use a little more maintenance in the area that I visit, the lake. The water quality looks poor, there are lots of homeless camped and it seems people avoid it for that reason.

  • 5/5 Chantelle R. 1 year ago on Google
Always a nice place to come sit and enjoy your afternoon or anytime of day, I love to go see the young man who loves to sit and paint while listening to his nice oldies. So peaceful.

  • 4/5 Rick C. 3 years ago on Google
The city Parks and Recs does a good job maintaining this park. They need to get the homeless out, all seem very young. They create a lot of unsanitary trash in the area.

Nice lake, lots of ducks, fishermen on the side, and a playground. The quiet and peaceful ambiance here. I come here sometimes to meditate or get some time away from home. If you want to unwind, visit this place and you won't regret it!
