Dirty. Full of dirt. Joe Dirté you say? This ain't no garden, but me pup digs it. Our go to spot. Large and spacious. Plenty of room for the younglings to run while the more aged dogs mosey around. Check it out. If I were you, which I'm not, but if was, I would have already. Which I did. Life's a garden, dig it.

What a wonderful park! Nice and vast and fairly busy. There are water spouts and bowls readily available, and plenty of ropes and balls to play with. There are a few pavilions with shade, only wish they had a few more. Watch where you sit, I caught some dogs relieving themselves around people sitting in chairs!

Summary: This is one of our go to dog parks which is a good mix of size and dogs/human ratio. We enjoy taking our dog here and then walking around the lake as a weekend activity. Separated into big/small dogs areas. Recent rains/weather has led to a sizable ditch to form which exposes some piping - something to be aware of. Right outside there is usually a fruit vendor. Pros: There are a few shaded areas for humans when sunny. There's one major drinking sprout for the dogs. Generally I find that the humans are pretty attentive here, and friendly. There's less dog-groups. It's close to cool places in Silver lake to grab coffee or a bite afterwards. Cons: Mostly dirt and some patches of grass, so can get dusty and your dog will get dirty. There's no designated parking, so it's street parking only which can be difficult to find on the weekends. Recommended parking on the other side of the bridge where there's generally more opening and walking over (~5 mins) instead of trying to find parking right outside with cars that will be impatient.

It’s a nice open place for off leash dog play time if your local to the area. However it loses points for its lack of maintained landscaping and the sometimes overwhelming number of dogs and people that fill the park. It’s better than nothing but I will make the drive to other LA area parks when possible for the aforementioned reasons. I recommend aiming to visit outside of peak usage hours, weekend mid mornings and weekday early evenings. Park is posted with a 10pm closed time however I’ve never found park officials enforcing this nor are any of the gate entrances ever being locked.

For the love of God people, PLEASE stay close to your dogs and keep them under control. This is a beautiful space but sadly it is ruined by aloof hipsters with no control over there dogs. It kind of ruins the scenery when you’re doing the Heisman on an aggressive dog with no owner in sight. Drive to Griffith dog park instead; same amount of space with responsible owners, and more shade. And if your dog weighs more than you do, maybe you should keep them out the park, Linda.

I love Silver Lake dog park! I would give 5 stars but I’m leaving a review with a concern about the park. I am not sure how else to contact as no one answers the provided phone number. The water fountain in the park is broken. It won’t shut off! It’s been running for a week now and it’s a terrible waste of water in this drought. Hopefully park maintenance can fix it soon! EDIT: They replaced the water fountain handle, but they replaced it with one you have to hold to keep on. This is a pain when you have like 80 dogs trying to drink from the fountain and the bowls while you’re holding it on. I hope they switch it to one you can turn on and off.

Good space but it’s in silver lake so it will be full of judgmental know it all men who mansplain dog ownership like there’s no tomorrow. if you happen to have a non-rescue dog, there will be judgement. If you avoid them, you and your pup will enjoy it. It does need some maintenance after a rough winter - the cracks in the ground are getting pretty big.

Great place for dogs to socialize! We had our puppy go off leash and meet other dogs and they were all friendly! Great location.

Good park for sure no complaints. Ok it's pretty dusty no grass but there is plenty of water and the dogs and people are happy. There is enough seating in the shade i just came at the hottest time of day. So i need to come back in the early or late hours to have a more comfortable experience because I'm sensitive to heat and so it my dog because is pretty much all black and so she heats up fast.

Me and my girlfriend take our dogs there every day. People are generally friendly, would recommend going earlier in the morning if you’re looking for better dogs/owners. Going in the afternoon can be a bit of a problem as a lot of dogs have been locked up all day so there are more fights.

Both parks are great as long as you and your dog aren’t expecting green grass. Friendly dogs and people. There’s decent shade for everyone to share on those hot days. Plenty of places to sit down or stand.

My dog tells me it was between meh and ok. Suggest more dog toys to make it fun. Plus, there were too many yappy small dogs. Need more diversity, biodiversity to be exact. Bringing some wolf-dog hybrids, kangal and such would be nice.

This is a vague warning, but be careful. If you witness a guy whipping dogs with a leash, .. he may be attempting to lure your dog into biting him, or have mental health issues. He didn't call out before whipping my dog in 2 separate incidents. I witnessed entire interaction, and long story-short .. my dog is deaf and wasn't even paying attention to him. He was playing with another dog (not his), who was barking at him. I am left without any explanation but the 2 above, and I leave you with that warning. STILL A GREAT PARK !

My pup loves this park. However, they need to fix the ground. We people and doggies can get hurt.

Not sure why this park has so many good reviews. I think it's because of the size but considering there is no grass and it's all dirt, the dogs get SO dirty. Eagle Rock Dog Park is worth the drive. Smaller and so much cleaner.

Great place for people and dogs. Except some parents have no imagination and bring ginger 3 year old children to big dogs park like it is a kids entertaining place.

I value and appreciate my local dog park. Always a good crowd of people and their dogs - a positive, safe and caring community. It's dusty and dirty, as to be expected - more grass or vegetation would be nice. Better designed shade structures and seating could also be nice, but it suffices.

Our one and only dog park that we love! Separate love for both big and small dogs.

Very good doggie park with lots like with lots of dogs between the hours of 5 and 7:00 p.m.

  • 5/5 Jeremy M. 2 years ago on Google
We like this dog park because it’s almost always busy and is big enough for dogs to really run around. The big dog side can get a little rowdy sometimes which is good for my dog but won’t be perfect for everyone.

Very nice dog park with separate spaces for large dogs and small dogs (though I certainly saw more than a few small dogs being brought to the large dog section, which was annoying). There's also a little fountain space in the center with some bowls so that your dog could have a drink after running around. I wish there were a few more trees and/or shaded sections, but it's a good space overall.

I love this park, mostly because my friend lives across the stream from, and she let's me take her dogs. I also love dogs.

The idea of the park is fantastic, but the dirt and the grass that surrounds it is completely entitled filled with feces and urine, and the sprinkler system does not wash any of it away. A lot of people do not pick up after their animals, and the interior perimeter of the park is disgusting. Other than that- I love this neighborhood and the people who attend this park. They have become like a 2nd fur family.💙

The place is great to take your dog to socialize. There are risk as with every dog park. My dog is spayed but certain people don't neuter their dogs, and I've had two different dogs on separate times try to hump my dog. The park is great just irresponsible owners.

  • 4/5 Ashley P. 9 months ago on Google
Not the best dog park but there’s plenty of space and seating—especially on the big dog side. Great dog and people watching! Separate sections for big and little/timid dogs.

  • 5/5 Todd R. 9 months ago on Google
There are separate sections for both large and small dogs. Water is available from faucets. Both dog parks are fully fenced.

The park is like a stage we bring the vibe the dogs are the cast and they put on a show unique and satisfying every time. I lost my dog 2. Mos ago . I went by myself ànd watched others hoping someday we will be reunited ,.

Great park! There are two parks for big and small dogs and a water facility! Great place to get your dogs socialize with others! Open daily and close at 830pm.

Is an amazing atmosphere for my dog. He is a eight month Cane Corso and he has met one of his wonderful friends on the park. We absolutely love it.

  • 3/5 Cecilia L. 1 year ago on Google
Amazing park! Except there’s always those irresponsible dog owners who take their unfixed dogs there. It’s so annoying and there needs to be stricter rules on this. It’s not safe for the pups.

I take my dog running here, we also love hanging out at the dog park. Even though she’s only 22LBs we like to go to the big dog side.

Great place for either small/timid dogs and large/active dogs. Parking is quite slim with surrounding parks for recreation in conjunction. Unfortunately we had to leave quite early with the water being turned off for the dogs to drinks. Some regulars luckily brought a gallon to share some drink

Use to take my beast all the time and they use to have a little plastic pool few years ago. It was nice and dirty 🤣. They have the big dog side and the little dog side. Most people don't like their dogs being humped...but dogs are gonna hump. There's also some fighting going on so be careful. Also there's no grass. It's all dirt. They got some seating areas around the park pretty chill. Be careful when parking because it's all street parking. Good luck and be safe with your beasts!

  • 3/5 Eli Q. 1 year ago on Google
Decent park to bring babies can for run and fun. Be aware that the park keeps the cleanness with the dog's owner's help, so make sure to always pick up after your doggy!

  • 3/5 Vicky E. 1 year ago on Google
It's a really big open space, but the only thing I didn't like is it's because it's all sand or dirt and after coming home later that day my dog was itching like crazy and yes we are very up to date on his bathing and flea treatments. So it's a good dog park if you really are not worried about dogs with sensitive skin or fleas.
