Update: I signed up a new potential customer who wanted to try out orange theory for a class at 6:30. We arrived at 6:12 and the studio manager said there was not enough time to onboard - however my friend had already filled out the liability waivers online. Did not understand why since there were 3 people at the desk, just chilling. Barryā€™s for example doesnā€™t have any of this non sense - you bring a friend - they go right in. Really bad customer experience here - your studio manager is literally throwing away potential customers when classes are not fully booked. Studio floors are cracked and generally equipment is not well maintained. In addition the studio manager (Crystal) is less than friendly and took vicarious pleasure in not letting me in because in her clock, I was 5 seconds over time (I was a minute within time according to my clock which is synced every day). In addition, basic bathroom supplies are not available such as workout bags etc. Definitely does not justify a ā€˜select studioā€™ rating.

Two main reasons why I am avoiding this OTF studio and decided to cancel my membership. 1. Honestly, for being a ā€œpremiumā€ studio; itā€™s outdated, the owner refuses to make any upgrades. From the treadmills that only go up to a speed of 12 (when all premium OTF studios have newer treadmills with 15 speed and bigger screens for more insight on individual performance), outdated rowing machines (again, owner refuses to upgrade to newer rowers with individual monitors that track performance), to the floor with benches that arenā€™t the OTF standard, and floors that are nearly impossible to do exercise in because itā€™s pebbled and leaves residue (itā€™s so bad there are uneven areas throughout). 2. Secondly, I have been a member for some time now, but in the last few months a new head coach, name rhymes with Jamieā€¦ just has not been the best in my opinion. I was doing one of the tread-blocks and wasnā€™t feeling too comfortable so decided to take it easy - this coach then approaches me and makes an uncomfortable and unprofessional comment about how I should be working out. Truly in disbelieve because Iā€™ve always been able to work at my pace and do alternatives on the treadmill - I understand being pushed and encouraged to be the best version of yourself but the comment just didnā€™t sit right with me. Iā€™ve avoided taking ā€œJamieā€™sā€ class ever since. This wasnā€™t just my experience; I know a handful of members that have avoided taking her class. They either go to other studios or have cancelled their longtime memberships because of the hostile environment ā€œJamieā€ creates. Lastly, I would encourage you take a class if youā€™ve never done so (there are several outstanding coaches: Suzy, Luciana, Jake, Joei, Joe, Josh, and Sara) and staff in this studio ā€” except for ā€œJamieā€) itā€™s just unfortunate that the head coach has failed to present a professional and welcoming environment. Do keep your options open to other newer studios (theyā€™re all within walking distance - from F45, Equinox, Camp, Soul Cycle).

Hands down, the best $ I spend every month!!! OTF is the only gym I will go to! Their coaches are so kind, their clientele diverse.. young, old, fit, not-so-fit, gay, straight, and everyone in between. They make us all feel like family! For me, I have several injuries and am overweight. I feel like I belong there just as much as the competitive athletes that train right beside me. Since the workouts are modified for each person's required intensity, we all get kick-ass workouts, despite our different fitness levels! 100% of the time, the coaches encourage me when I want to give up or feel hopeless. That take time to show me alternative exercises that better suit my needs (darn tendinitis and calf tear)! They even call or email me when I go MIA for a few weeks to make sure I'm okay (seriously, who does that?!? Most gyms are happy when you pay them and don't show up). I jus stumbled upon this place when I was going to get coffee... I hope you try out a class (usually free at first) and have the same wonderful experiences that I have.

Disclosure: I've known the owner of this location for many years. She was my favorite coach back when she was a working at another franchise before opening her own. She helped me gain confidence and actually enjoy the experience of a HIITĀ class.Ā However, this review is on my own accord and radically honest. I travel throughout SoCal for work and visit many locations. OTF-DTLA is still the best location - my home studio is a very close second. DTLA wins IMO because they still provide shower towels and the garage has free EV charging. I read a few negative reviews with absurd claims of "cracked floors" and safety issues. False claims really bother me because I work as independent contractor and understand what that's like. So ... I'd like to respond to those claims. All OTF locations have the same flooring because all franchises follow the corporate designĀ guidelines. The flooring is a modular system, which I assume is sourced from one supplier, at least for the west coast. Also, there's nothing wrong with the equipment. The only improvement would adding the tablets to the rowing machines, but very few locations have that feature, so it's not that big of a deal. Back to safety. I say this in an endearing manner; the owner of OTF-DTLA is a stickler for safety. It's one of the reasons she was my favorite coach. She assertively and politely corrected members, especially when their behavior on the treadmills endangered others. "Don't jump the rails! Thank you!". Lastly, I recently visited OTF-DTLA and attended coach Caitlin's class. She's great! I loved her style of coaching and her music selection. I'm hoping to find time to attend her classes more often.

LOVE this place!! Itā€™s an intense 50 minutes but when you leave you feel amazing. I love seeing my stats on the OTF Beat app post workout. It makes it really easy to track progress. Dana, Whitney and Gene are my top 3 picks when it comes to coaches - but all the instructors are great! This is my favorite location to go to in the city. Parking is in the garage right next door and they validate 90 minutes. Highly recommend!

As someone who never really loved working out, I surprisingly love these classes...the structure makes things interesting, always new, but always challenging. And all the class coaches I've had here are great - high energy and really fun. Coach Spencer is awesome - often gets the whole class smiling and high-five-ing. The happy vibes are infectious.

I've been going to Orange Theory for going on 2 years now. I usually go to the other downtown location but when I need a certain time that's unavailable at my home gym I go to this location. This location is just as consistent and I love how big and spacious it is. The free parking is the ultimate cherry on top.

Love the studio and workouts. Staff is very friendly and supportive. All the coaches have their unique way of training love all of them. Also they validate parking 90 mins which is really great for busy area like downtown.

Have been in going to this studio for about 6 months and genuinely love it. The studio is clean and everyone on the team is super friendly - especially Christian at the front desk. They change up the workouts daily and offer classes throughout the day to fit your schedule. Make sure to check out Jen or DJā€™s class - you wonā€™t be disappointed!

Do not come here. The owner is a passive aggressive white woman who gives you an attitude when you don't buy several classes. They are probably the worst franchise owners in all of oTF

Decided to visit from out of town. The staff and coaches were very nice and welcoming. My only negative comment is that the floor is extremely uncomfortable to work out on. It crumbles in your hands and on your knees. Use the mat or wear long pants here

I inquired online over the weekend regarding trying out OTF and I received a call this morning regarding a free introductory class. Out of nowhere the guy asks for my credit card information over the phone for a free class. I asked if I could try the FREE CLASS without providing a credit card he said no and basically refused to book my reservation. I would be very cautious about trying a place like this so beware folks. He was initially nice at girst but, immediately changed his tone once I refused to give my credit card info over the phone.

Whitney, the owner, can be truly proud. I showed up this morning to ask to do a class as a walk-in and the team could not have been more helpful. Rafa, Luciana and Chris sorted out a temporary membership and walked me through what the workout would entail. I did the workout which was challenging but manageable. Orange Theory Fitness are on to something and I look forward to going to OTF sessions when I am back in the UK.

Love this gym! Love the ever changing workouts. If we all worked out in sync, i believe it would be 5 star worthy. I feel like its more challenging when everyone is in sync like other bootcamps ive been to, but orange theory is great ā™”

I went to Orange theory fitness , DTLA, couple of years back. Excellent gym for group trainings. Most of the trainers are excellent and quite motivating, especially Trent , who was quite exceptional in getting the best out of the people. Not sure, if he still works here.

I specifically visited this studio to take a class with Coach Gabs and the location did not disappoint! Parking validation underneath, the front desk is friendly and helpful, and it's a great sized studio with plenty of room to mingle about as you're waiting for your class to start. Highly encourage you to take a class with Gabs -- she's welcoming, high-energy and I love her emphasis on positive self-talk! Definitely coming again!

Before the workout there's a thorough explanation of what to expect. The "why" behind the "how" is very important and most people don't get that, even in basic education towards all learning. The utilization of the equipment isn't just demonstrated, you're watched trying it to make sure you grasped what was shown and explained. And the best part is it's curated and even though there are more people in room doing the workout, you feel like you have a personal trainer who's situationally aware of you. I loved it, and the next day, every muscle used let me know how important consistent workouts, other than walking are. I highly recommend Orange Theory. At least check it out in assessing what's best for you as an individual.

LOVE this area!! Itā€™s an severe 50 minutes however whilst you depart you sense awesome. i really like seeing my stats on the OTF Beat app publish workout. It makes it really smooth to music development. Dana, Whitney and Gene are my top 3 alternatives in terms of coaches - but all the instructors are fantastic! that is my favorite location to visit inside the town. Parking is in the garage proper next door and they validate ninety minutes. relatively suggest!

Itā€™s really disappointing paying a good amount of money for a membership and getting poor customer service. Shouldnā€™t all first classes be free? Itā€™s advertised on their website. I was visiting LA and decided to signed up for a class. My friend that wanted to join me was told she needed to pay 12 dollars for her first class and her second class was gonna be free.. now my friend doesnā€™t even want to join anymore. Iā€™ve never experienced this until today at this specific club.
