Highly recommend this, Jennifer is extremely knowledgeable about the city. Father is an extreme history buff and usually ends up becoming the tour guide on these things. He was mostly a spectator and enjoyed the tour which says a lot about Jennifer. The ride is robust in scale but very easy on the rider. There are plenty of stops and the grading is level for the vast majority.

Love the Art District bike tour and discovered all hidden gems. Jennifer was extremely knowledgeable and made us feel at ease first time biking in downtown LA. It opened us to a whole new world of murals and I now have a much greater appreciation for the talented street artists. I highly recommend anyone who needs a break from the usual museum scenes.

I took the Arts District Tour and it was fantastic. I learned so much and Jen is very knowledgeable! The Tour was full of great info! I left so inspired to do more art now because of it! I even got a little bonus off the beaten path tour of the arts district that many people may miss.

Spent an amazing afternoon in DTLA on the Nitty Gritty Art District Bike Tour. Our fun and knowledgeable tour guides Jen and Jenna introduced our group of 7 to DTLA's burgeoning street art community and its history that most likely would be overlooked. We look forward to coming back and taking other tours!

As long-time LA county residents, we wanted to try a “tourists view” of the city, and Jennifer did not disappoint. We learned new and interesting details about places we’ve driven past for years. Jennifer took us on a clever, wide-ranging, winding path through town that kept traffic interactions at a minimum while taking us past iconic and historic locations. In addition to historical & background info, Jennifer pointed out locations of hidden restaurants and rooftop cocktail bars to visit later. She’s got a wealth of information if you ask her about things that are not necessarily on the tour, as well. The meet/end location at Grand Central Market is excellent, the tour starts late enough to get breakfast at the market, and the parking is as she describes. We took a ride on the Angel’s Flight funicular before the tour, since it’s right across the street. A couple of our group are fairly experienced cyclists: the bicycles and helmets provided were quite comfortable, light, and well maintained. Seat heights are easily adjustable. The ride is generally flat, but there are a few opportunities to shift gears, and the bikes responded smoothly. They’ve each got a rack on the back for large items, and a bag & water bottle holder on the handlebars for small items. Jennifer disinfects the bicycles before and after tours, and offers sanitizer and wipes afterwards, as well.

I had a great time and highly recommend this bike tour. We had to change dates, and it was easy to do online with the confirmation email, no hassle. We were leaving later that day and were able to keep our bags at the shop during the tour and afterwards so we could have lunch in grand central market without having to drag them around. The bikes were in great shape. We saw and learned so much I wish we had done the history tour our first day instead of our last.

We took two tours, the downtown LA tour and the Arts District tour. Both were amazing! The bikes, the guide both top notch! The bike riding is not hard and they emphasize safety first! We can’t wait to take the brews cruise tour. I highly recommend Handlebar Bike Tours! It’s a great way to see LA!!

I loved everything about this tour. Jennifer is very personable, knowledgeable, kind and funny! Her tour is very well thought out. So many nice details that I never would have figured out by myself - And GREAT bikes. Her knowledge of Los Angeles mixed in with the history was very thorough and well presented. I happily would recommend this tour to anyone. Thank you for everything Jen!

This is a wonderfully friendly LBS (local bike shop) - they are very nice people, a vast and reasonable selection of gear at fair prices, and they do high quality work. All the mechanics there are highly skilled and I would recommend this place to anyone.

Recommend! July road trip and not much is open in the way of sight seeing, but we booked a tour here, and I'm so glad I did. My family had a private tour, which they said they're doing for everyone right now. My sons loved getting to see where the Lakers play, and riding bikes after days in the car. The guide had masks, gloves, wipes etc and we were outside all the time so it felt like a pretty safe activity to do right now.

Handlebar Bike tours is a bespoke experience that illuminates Downtown LA. The bicycles are tip top and the guides have an encyclopedic understanding of the very history of these stunning streets. I would put this experience up there with tours of cities like London and Paris. Downtown Los Angeles is a secret of this great city. So many come to see our Hollywood and Universal Studios. Experience Downtown Los Angeles via Handlebar Bike Tours. An indelible effort and worth it!

I’ve taken several of the Handlebar tours, and my favorite may be the Pretty Gritty Arts District Tour. I love the fact that there is a quick stop to wander the galleries for a more in-depth tour of the area. Tours are very informative, and I learned so much about the history of the areas, and how the neighborhoods have evolved over the years. Jennifer does a great job of covering history, architecture, and current trends, while offering a safe group ride. I’m used to my old clunky beach cruiser, but I found the 8 speed bikes really light and easy to handle. The Twilight tour is great for getting a look at downtown LA at night, and I really enjoyed the neon of the old theaters down on Broadway. Handlebar Bike Tours is a great way to get out in the fresh air, get some exercise, and explore the things that make Los Angeles such an amazing place. I live here, so I’m already a convert, but I make it a point to bring all my out-of-town friends whenever they visit. Check it out, and “Happy Cycling!”

With a guest visiting for a week and needing to get life done, I found Handlebar Bike Tours and signed him up. Not only did he take one tour, but decided to stay for the second tour that afternoon. Jen was a fantastic guide and he had a memorable day learning about and touring LA. Highly recommend!
