Great spot for coffee and food. They have a solid menu with many options for breakfast and lunch. The Rainbow Avocado Toast is an art piece, the Turkey Avocado Croissant is so delicious (sorry French people reading this) and the Rosewater Honey Latte is so good. Will come back to try more options.

Bright coffee shop with alternative milk options and breakfast/brunch. Came here on a Sunday around 11am and there were indoor and outdoor seats available. Credit card only (no cash accepted). You pay at the counter and then you’ll receive a number. You can do work here too, but most of the people seemed to be there to socialize. They had some ready made pastries but I would suggest asking them to heat up the display ones (it’ll take your croissant to the next level). It’s an additional $1.25 if you want oat milk in your latte. I got a matcha latte and it did its job. Note that the smoothie bowl does come with a nut butter blended in it. It’s actually pretty filling, so you could ask for a cold drink cup to take the rest of it to-go. Overall the vibes are chill and it’s a cute cafe/coffee shop.

It’s the BEST COFFEE in Hollywood!!! 1 year ago I moved from Belarus, I worked as a barista for over 3 years and immediately started looking for a good coffee store. and found it. I come back here all the time and advise everyone. Espresso is great, i love your cups and drip coffee and staff super friendly ❤️

Used to be my go to coffee shop, I live just across the street. The new staff they hired is horrible and solely because of the employees I’m not going back. I feel very not welcome every time I go there now, the employees are more interested in talking to each other than providing any customer service or even acknowledging you. No “hello”, “thank you” or “have a nice day”. Just blank stares and annoyed attitude. I’d rather pay for an overpriced coffee somewhere else going forward.

Comfortable environment with abundant lighting. Their beverages are the best I’ve had so far in California. The sour cherry oat cold brew is sooo good! Also, their matcha latte taste just the right amount of tea bitterness, with natural sweet flavor from the milk and the matcha powder itself. The staffs are also friendly. (BUT, their drinks are quite pricey to be honest)

Real chill cafe with friendly staff and tasty food, coffee wasn't half bad either. I got a bagel which was fresh and delicious as well as a hot Americano that wasn't too bitter. Chill music was playing while I ate, which was a nice touch. A gem in an area filled with chains.

The coffee here is well balanced in acidity. Service is fast and ample amount of parking is available in the parkade. The parkade is pretty dark. The seating is limited but it is a very comfortable environment with lots of natural light.

Cafe close to the main Hollywood boulevard. Not super comfortable to sit. The food was good. I love the beautiful green wall. I was disappointed to have my yogurt/muesli in a plastic cup, it's not appetising for a cafe. Maybe the chef already left? Cafe and avocado toast was good.

This looked like your typical higher end coffee shop but the pastries far exceeded my expectations, as did my flat white. Great service, too - quiet but polite, just what you want on a calm morning while sipping away. I'll be back!

The place is cute but the prices are way to high. To choose a different milk is an extra $1.75. I’ve never seen such a high fee to have a different type of milk. I have seen .50 extra. Also, the menu said $1.25 extra. The cashier was very unfriendly. Like he was mad. I’m don’t think I’ll go back. It’s too expensive. Parking is not that easy to find.

I love checking out coffee shops. it’s my thing. i loved the good and coffee at Blavk Canvas. i ordered an oat milk honey latte and a breakfast bagel. both were outstanding. in fact, the breakfast bagel was too hot to eat for a few minutes and the coffee…. smooth as silk! i’ll be back tomorrow.

Great little cafe in Hollywood! If you’re looking for top notch coffee, like Australian style, this place is it. We had an omelette and oatmeal and both were super tasty!

Hats off to the chef! We came here on both 1st & 2nd Jan for breakfast. Both days we each ordered one main dish and a drink and a desert. We end up enjoying every single dish and drink we ordered :)! The avocado toasts (ordered poached egg one first day & rainbow avo on second) are especially flavorful - its ingredients were brilliantly combined into a unique savory taste. My favorite drink is London Fog which is a milk tea, and my partnered ordered the signature cold brew which was fresh and a bit fruity. Service was not good, though, but with the food being this good, we are not bothered :)

Great coffee shop adjacent to/in the Hollywood area. Clean decor and well made drinks. They serve food too.

Black Canvas Coffee offers the best iced lattes. I tried honey maple and blueberry latte and both tasted amazing. With every sip of coffee you can taste their high quality and clean ingredients. I'm so happy I was able to find this amazing coffee place. The pastries are also good. Their service is superb. Their baristas are also great at what they do and provide the best customer service. Also the decor of this place is amazing.

I love this place! Extensive and beautiful food menu, fun coffee drinks, and the coolest spot to hang at. Great for working on your laptop, reading, going on a date, or a quick drink to go. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!! Oh, and the baristas are super cool.

How are ya’ll going to have one person working on a Friday? That’s insane. You can afford to pay two employees when you’re charging $15 for avocado and toast. I love this place, but HATE that it’s always understaffed. Your poor employee has a line of like 15 people - is trying to make drinks, deliver drinks, and take people’s orders. Like that’s a joke. Do better.

I loved the decor. The food was really yummy but I feel like it's a bit overpriced especially for portion size. The service was just kind of okay, nothing super memorable.

Love this place! Good for work / meetings or just to read a book. Great coffee and food is yummy !! The staff are super friendly. They even give my dog treats! East street parking. Gets busy on weekends so prepare for that but I always find a table !

beautiful shaded and receded patio area with lush coffee bar inside offering inflation and fancy brews starting ~$7 for a regular size drip or iced coffee. I was excited to try and it is indeed a lovely space inside and out but iced coffee (no milk) for $8+? I opted for AMPM mart instead located exactly 1 block south offering $2-3 extra large coffee (hot or iced) that is quite decent w/o any inflation pricing or bitter aftertaste. That being said, I *would* like to try again perhaps for a group meetup or date in a leafy and lovely setting. Otherwise I'm simply not paying upwards of $10 for a basic cuppa and they really could use an inexpensive menu option or ✌️!!

The Salmon bagel and a Latte with a coconut milk were so good and tasty. The staff is friendly and welcoming. There is a free wifi and a free underground parking. But the most impressive thing is the green wall with real plants, some of them even are blooming. Prices are reasonable. Very recommend this place.

It looks very nice, but it was pretty dirty. Even got a cup with lipstick on it. Coffee and food was mediocre. Too bad, was very excited to try this place, but it was pretty disappointing.

I love this place because unlike some coffee shops with higher end products, the quality goes far beyond the price point. I was blown away by how good the cappuccino I got was as well as the everything bagel. Not to mention, the folks working there were incredibly friendly and welcoming. I'll be coming back here for sure.

Black Canvas Coffee is a bright and neat coffee shop in Hollywood, good vive for work or chat. Coffee was ok, service was friendly., although overall the shop feels quite generic. I stopped by one day to meet a friend and we had a good time here. The outdoor patio is nice.

Cool coffee, and one of the best omelettes Ive had in a long time-small portion for the price so not recommending eating there as there’s not many options too.

Love the pastries here. Unfortunately they don’t offer their full breakfast menu until 9am which sucks because I’m usually in the area at around 7:30 am due to work.

I absolutely love the ambience. I've had Black Canvas Coffee bookmarked for some time and finally got around to coming here for my morning pastry and cold brew. My cold brew was delicious, but my banana nut muffin was even better. They have a nice display of pastries below the counter. I couldn't help but get something sweet to try. My discipline went right out of the window. The space is very big, with both indoor and outdoor seating. I love that they have a plant wall inside. The glass windows on all sides allow for a lot of light inside. It's gorgeous. Next time I need a coffee shop to hang out in and get work done, I'm coming to Black Canvas! I'll be back very soon to try some of their other drinks. Parking available in the garage, marked retail parking.

$7.39 for an Oat latte with one (small double) shot!?!?!?!?!?!? Are you mad!?! I get these in every state and many many cities at loads of cool cafes in city centers or trendy ‘hoods. NEVER EVER have I paid more than $4-5-something. Even with oat milk. In fact, some days I get a double (4small shots), and even THOSE are usually $5-something! I was in awe when the barista guy said it. I lived 5 years in Williamsburg Brooklyn till 2020 and 4 in Manhattan’s Bowery before that - their rent is WAY higher than LA so Black Canvas Coffee don’t tell me it’s rent. Anyway it’s only Highland🙄 It’s a lovely place with excellent coffee otherwise (other cafes w/excellent coffee still don’t charge almost $8!)..LOVE the green wall and planter boxes n vibe. Just no to stratospheric drink prices!

Talk about a diamond in the rough! If you know you know. Really the key here is quality. Great coffee in fact, some solid pastry game, out door seating for the doge and even compostable Togo’s! Thank you for that last one Black Canvas, money well spent. 👏🏽 🙏🏽 Check em out just off Sunset and North Highland in Hollywood.
