This was one of the best dining experiences that I've ever had. The hotel and the Lobby Bar is very old but so elegant and fancy. When I went, I ordered a bourbon beer, which was unique and tasted amazing. I then ordered their chicken wings and they were top notch as well. They were small and fantastic. As for the main course, I got the iconic hot brown. It had cheese, bacon, a tomato, and turkey on it. It was nothing short of amazing. Overall, this place is well worth the visit. Between the iconic hot brown and the elegant dining area, this makes for the best Louisville experience.

We've been to the Brown Hotel before and were pleased. This time was no different. We had a couple of Bourbon flights and some fries before heading out to another dinner. Fries were some of the best I've ever had. Bourbons were good too. Service was a little slow and there wasn't really a crowd, so that was disappointing. There was also some confusion on their part of the coupon we had, which came from the hotel, and that was slightly frustrating. The piano player was great and entertaining.

Of course when you come to Louisville a must stop is the Brown Hotel. And what a great opportunity to have a meal here! When you walk into the building you feel like you are a part of history. Which you really are! Reading the information about the building is very interesting. I don't build them like they used to! You almost feel like you are in a museum. The architecture, the environment, etc. makes you feel you are top class! Of course we got the hot brown, she could report, pasta, burger, wings, creme brulee, and the classic Derby pie! The service was impeccable and we had several people asking how we were doing. We also got an old fashioned and then Lily cocktail. I would highly recommend!!

Absolutely incredible. Service, food, ambience were all stellar. Just two of us. We split a salad and a Hot Brown, and thought that was perfect amount of food. They split the salad to separate plates for us, and we each got a big portion. Hot Brown came out piping hot, and was rich and delicious. We wandered in without a reservation and the host was able to squeeze us in. We got the last available table, which was right by the bar. The host kept an eye and made sure we had enough space and weren't getting crowded out. We felt very well taken care of!

Please don't miss this place. We can't say enough about this beautiful, historic hotel and restaurant. Very elegant and a wonderful place to have a romantic dinner. We had an awesome server who was very knowledgeable and helpful. I had the famous Hot Brown and my wife had the Seared Scallops. Our cocktails were crazy good. We finished the meal off with the best Derby Pie in town!

If you are visiting Louisville, the Lobby Bar at the Brown Hotel is a must. I had an Old Fashioned cocktail off the menu. Refreshing and balanced. Bartenders and waiters have an appreciation for the history and culture of bourbon and mixology in general. Laid back, informative and helpful, especially Kris. They know what they're doing. Great old school elegance and ambiance -- lots of polished wood, subdued colors, horse paintings galore. You should try the Hot Brown sandwich. A charming and unique cocktail experience.

Even though they have a very limited menu on Sundays, they were super accommodating, offered me a yellow tomato bisque (which was not on the menu) and we took the famous hot Brown! It is so worth it! Delicious! 1/we really appreciated the accommodation since we were out of town 2/service was impeccable 3/they went out of their way to make it a great evening for us! What more can you ask for! It is a beautifully decorated place, on the second floor of the hotel. Rich, classy and memorable! You deserve a treat at the Lobby bar! 5 stars!

The Lobby Bar is a great experience. James is a master barkeeper and a great conversationalist. The selection of Bourbon, Rye, and other spirits is so abundant it's overwhelming. That's where James's knowledge is invaluable. I was able to taste some hard-to-finds as a result. Anybody who enjoys well-made and tasty food, a great selection of spirits, and the wonderfully friendly service should visit the Lobby Bar at the historic Brown Hotel.

We had an amazing dinner here this past Sunday night! The piano man was great and provided a wonderful atmosphere for the meal. He played classic rock, grunge, and current pop songs on the piano. The crab cake and beet salad appetizers were excellent. I had the filet mignon for dinner and it was tender, flavorful, and perfect. The birthday dessert was great too. Highly recommend this place!

Over the years, we have had the pleasure of dining at many amazing restaurants. The Lobby Bar and Grill provides a luxury setting and a menu of delicious, gourmet delectables. We enjoyed our dinner immensely and look forward to coming again one day. Give them a try. You will not be disappointed.

Staff was wonderful, attentive but still allowed me space. When they realized I was an out of town guest, alone they offered to take some photos for me to capture my “experience” . Checked two things off my bucket food list: The Hot Brown and a Mint Julep. Both were exceptional. If you’re in the area you must stop!

I visited on 8/10/22. Really neat historic hotel, restaurant, and lobby bar. I ate in the lobby bar. Seat yourself, does have table service. I got the petite Hot Brown, it was so good and a perfect size, the big one would have been too much. I also took a piece of Derby pie home with me. It was excellent. I would highly recommend stopping in for at least a drink and some food.

A little overpriced in my opinion but the hot brown and bourbon fries are SO worth it!

Some staff attend to every need. Cris and Harold made us feel as if we had no needs. Superb food with a warm inviting Victorian atmosphere. The place looks amazing and had us staring at every beautiful intricate detail. The best part was the people though, our waiter took the time to discuss whiskey for a good 15 mins and was incredibly knowledgeable. I would recommend that any whiskey fan take advantage of the make-your-own whiskey flight.

Absolutely amazing experience. The food was all perfectly presented and at the right temperature. The waitstaff were all incredible. Everything about it was perfect, and we highly recommend it! Also, there was a live pianist and she was awesome!

Excellent food, excellent service, beautiful place. Every dish was on point. From the fries, mac and cheese, scallops, etc. Every person that works there, was very nice to us and we had a great time. Definitely coming back.

Had a chance to visit Louisville and enjoyed all the history it had to offer. Including visiting the historic hotel that created the Hot Brown. Totally glad we went to the Brown Hotel - what a history it has on its own. The hotel is beautiful and the Hot Brown is not to be missed. Food was excellent and the perfect ambience in the beautiful lobby. We were even lucky enough to hear a few songs from the live entertainment. The staff was really nice - while the interactions were short it was memorable - Yessy our server was awesome and security was nice and provided us a few laughs. Keep up the great job!

The derby pie was amazing here. It came out warm and went perfectly with the ice cream and berries. The hot brown was pretty good, and I'd definitely get the smaller portion because the regular size is so much food. The fries were also crispy and seasoned. The mint julep was pretty good, and the service was amazing.

Very good food. The Hot Brown was deliciois and certainly fits the bill for a true comfort food. The scallops were also very good. Had a relatively nice selection of bourbon at prices thst were at least not the highest in the area. If you have the time stopping in to experience the real Hot Brown will not dissapoint. Staff was also very friendly and quick.

Nice restaurant inside the hotel, the hot brown is a unique comfort food type of dish. Pretty tasty. The petite version is still pretty sizable.

Walking in here is like going back in time. It is a classy place. I was just there to grab a cocktail and a Hot Brown. It was all fairly good but I had eaten a version of the Hot Brown at Churchill Downs' cafe that blew this out of the water. The bread pudding was not on par with other places in the city.

If you’re simply looking for a place to eat, the Brown Hotel Lobby Bar and Grill is probably not the place for you. Not today. Instead, if you are looking for a dining experience, then by all means, the Brown is the place to go. For obvious reasons, the Hot Brown is all the rave in most of the reviews of the Lobby Bar and Grill. But…I’m here to tell you that today, the Braised Beef Short Rib put one over on the famous Hot Brown! The rib, sans the bone, fat, and cartilage that comes with all ribs, is falling apart tender sitting atop a serving of cheesy grits and Swiss chard. I have no idea how the chef managed to keep the rib standing upright. Everything was paired perfectly with the beef. The white cheddar grits, tender mushrooms, Swiss chard, and the candied heirloom carrots all came together in an explosion of flavors held together and orchestrated beautifully by a fantastic red wine pan jus. The dish could not be improved upon – ever! Justin, the Chef de Cuisine, although presented with a full house of customers, upon my request, took time to leave the kitchen and visit with us to discuss the preparation methods of the beef rib and other dishes and to also invite us to the 100 year celebration coming up later this year. A wonderful meal, a wonderful experience; one that we will be eager to relive in the future.

Magical experience, submerses you back in time. The hotel is celebrating their 100th Anniversary and it’s obvious how they’ve managed to stay in business that long. The Lobby Bar & Grill has made relevant updates while maintaining the history. Make sure you arrive while they’re still serving. Enjoyed “The Hot Brown”, The Derby pie, A Kentucky Mille and an Old Fashion

Take a step back in time with dinner at the Lobby! I had the Louisville Lip (bourbon, honey, lemon juice) and it hit the spot. Friend tried the signature Hot Brown and also enjoyed it. For dessert, I had the crème brûlée which was not too sweet. Wonderful ambiance with piano playing in the background. Service was attentive as well.
