Imteresting restaurant. The bathrooms, for instance, have round basins where people can wash their hands, not the usual bathroom wash basins. The whole atmosphere implies the Near Eastern background. The food is OK, not great, BUT the prices for some items are more than EXCESSIVE!!! We ordered a whole range of dishes in order to get a full perspective on the food: vegetarian musaka with rice and lentils, samosa with lentil soup, humus with pita, and drinks. The musaka was a tasteless brown mash, while the rice and lentils had too much oil in it. The samosa was OK. The great surprise was the drinks. The diet coke glass was $ 4.00 dollars, but the lemonade glass was a WHOLE $ 7.50. We were shocked: what did that lemonade have more that some lemon juice and some sugar? Have the lemons gotten so much too much expensive? We are disappointed because what seems to happen in this restaurant is a clear and obvious customer RIP OFF!!! A SEVEN DOLLARS FIFTY CHARGE FOR A GLASS OF LEMONADE THAT COSTS AT A GAS STATION $ 1.50 IS LUDICROUS!!! We will not return to the restaurant.

Iโ€™ve passed this restaurant a thousand times and never dropped in, but finally did and was happy I did. A fairly large menu of Mediterranean options for vegetarians and non vegetarians alike. The hummus was great and the shawarma was delicious. The waitress was lovely and the service fast. Drop by and donโ€™t delay.

Don't live in Louisville or the state of Kentucky, and was there for a meeting. In my single visit, I enjoyed the healthy, clean food. The pita was warm and fresh. The waiter was kind and attentive. Took food back with me for the 6 hour drive back home, and it was the best choice I could've made rather than stopping for fast food.

The Grape Leaf is the best spot for Mediterranean food in the area! They have the best hummus I have ever had and they offer very good portions on all their meals! The service is always quick and polite as well. I have never waited more than 10 minutes for all my food to have come out either, very on top of it here at The Grape Leaf.

I ordered the mezza sampler i chose the babaganoosh, avocado smash, and the spanikopita and added the grape leaves for an additional charge. The babaganoosh had an overly charred flavor that overpowers the essence of the actual eggplant. The avo smash had a verry organic taste with no added flavor but thats fine bc i enjoy plain avocados. The spanikopita was crispy and delightful and oddly the grape leaves were served very warm. For my entree i ordered the sumac chicken with saffron rice and cauliflower. Interestingly enough it was packed with layers of flavor and aromatic deliciousness that seemed more authentic. Lunch cost me $40 so its kinda pricey for what you get but the service provided was nice.

I eat Mediterranean food all over the world. This is the best I've ever found and the owner is a beloved, contributing member of the community loved by all. I love the lamb shawarma, chicken sumac, Greek salad(no lettuce) , homemade hot sauce, mjudara, moussaka, Turkish coffee, baklava and so much more!

Wow! Loved all the flavors. The outdoor seating was cozy and relaxing. The filet was cooked perfectly, the avocado and tzatziki were freshly prepared and so good. Biryani rice and black beans were a tasty side dish. Would happily recommend this place to friends!

Loved it! Food was delicious. The menu is clearly labeled as V/GF and offers both options (as well as oil-free dishes). Service was great. Meal portions are very generous.

The restaurant is very quaint and and personable. The food is excellent. There's a server that works there he's been there for quite some time his name is Richard and he knows the restaurant inside and out the menu and especially at a Mediterranean restaurant which seems to have a lot of regulars for people like me who are not familiar and I've only been there a couple times myself I had a lot of questions and he doesn't have to look he doesn't have to think he just knows and that makes the restaurant experience even greater. Kudos to Richard and to the grape leaf

I absolutely love eating at this restaurant when Iโ€™m In Louisville. The Biryani with chicken is always my go-to dish. Fresh chicken, veggies, potatoes, and spices served over a bed of rice. I highly recommend it!

I came with no expectations but I started to love this place. Veggies are really fresh, steamed broccoli is creamy, lamb gyros was really great.โค๏ธ i have a few Mediterranean diner experiences but enjoyed my plate a lot.

Really cool place to grab some local Mediterranean food but on expensive side... We got the lamb swarma wrap, hummus and pita, falafel gyro, and Greek salads. Hummus was probably the best thing imo. Could tell the food was fresh and it was tasty. The lamb swarma kinda tasted like a burger tbh and lacked some pizzazz in flavor. But I still enjoyed it! The falafel gyro was bombalicious however. I honestly think this place is worth a visit and would be enjoyed

This is a nice place to catch lunch, brunch, or dinner. I was excited to try their shawarma as it is middle-eastern owned, but the sandwich was just okay. For me, it did not taste authentic, but none the less an okay sandwich. My partner also tried the Beef Moussaka plate, that tasted alright! The portions are pretty fulfilling too, especially the side salads, fries, and soup. We also tried the zaatar pizza which was tasty, but it definitely was very overpriced compared to other appetizers. Overall, it is an okay experience for anyone who likes to try Middle Eastern plates.

If you are looking for a nice Mediterranean, calming, and intimate venue, The Grape Leaf is your place! I want to personally comment about the outstanding service and food received during my sisterโ€™s brunch/luncheon bridal shower. It was absolutely the BEST!! We had about 25 guests to attend and everyone was very pleased with the food and service. A huge shout out to Hamza!!! He did a fantastic job overseeing our event. He was so professional, extremely knowledgeable, and helpful. He was very responsive and patient. Very nice guy! I highly recommend The Grape Leaf for your next meal.

Delicious, authentic Mediterranean food!! I had the chicken sumac and my friend had the chicken kabobโ€”both delicious! We shared the hummus appetizer and couldnโ€™t get enough. Cute patio and very attentive server!!

Waited a long time for food. I ordered salmon with veggies. It came...finally...and the salmon was over cooked and it came with a piece of o ion and a piece of Squash. Not food flavor. But....my lemonade. Regular fresh squeezed lemonade was $7.50. My lunch was $30 and only worth maybe $5...the fries were the best thing. NO going back

Last evening was our second visit. The food is delicious and I will return in the future. However, I would like to point out a couple of things about the establishment in itself. The ceiling in the area where we were seated is in dire need of repair. The carpet has definitely seen better times and I would just eliminate it and instead put in terracota tiles or something to enhance the Mediterranean atmosphere. I'm a foodie and when I eat food from another country, I like to have all of my senses stimulated, not just the palate. Music has to identify with the food I am eating, surroundings also has to be with decor pertaining to the country and look well kept and the scent coming from the food has to be just as good as the taste. Keep cooking excellent food that smells heavenly, keep the middle eastern music playing at just the right volume but do update/repair/add more to the restaurant interior.

I tried there gyro and it was really good. If you like spice then try there spicy habanero sauce has some really good spice and flavor! Try your meal with a Turkish coffee and the flavor of the notes really go well with the food!
