Friends don't let your friends go to U of L, they may not come out alive. From telling us to not use the restrooms because they were unsanitary, to lying about important tests that weren't performed, to missing a 24 hour window to operate, and mistreatment. They told our friend there was nothing wrong with him no reason why he should not have feeling in his extremities but guess what he had a spinal cord injury AND DIED. They killed him

Would honestly do no stars at all if that was a option! Went in for a simple port placement, was awake the whole time and felt everything!!! Ask them multiple times during to stop and was told no!!! Afterwards was told by my doctors that they had given all kinds of medication that I know for a fact I didn’t receive! So the start of my cancer treatment was truly hell because of this hospital.. they my be the best. But don’t get your ports placed here unless you enjoy pain. Everyone els I have spoken with said they was knocked out for this procedure. Not happy at all about any of this. I’m not sure what my rights are. But I’m pretty sure if a patient is awake and under no medicine. They have a right to stop any procedure. I wasn’t given that right. Again be careful…

I would like to say I am not one to post reviews, but this deserves a one star review. The nurses at this hospital clearly make it known they do not care about their patients they’re just in it for the paycheck. A select few of the nurses were awesome but most nurses we encountered on our two week long stay at U of L were horrible. The doctors are great at their job which is surgery but when it comes to bedside manner the doctors aren’t the best at exposing what is happening and how the healing process will go. Once our stay is over I will never be going back to this hospital for any type of care because of the way some of the nurses treat patients. My husband was screaming in pain and all the nurse had to say was there was nothing she could do for him.

I previously worked here and obviously nothing has changed in 20 years. The Emergency Department is the scariest ED I have ever been in. My family member is sitting in there now and they don't treat your pain, they are understaffed and have no beds to admit the patient to. No comfort for anyone, the patient, the family. Our healthcare system sucks terribly and if you want a great example, visit this hospital. Where are the Wave troubleshooters when you really need them.

ICU staff is inconsiderate of patients needs. Head nurse miss treats staff with disrespect and cusses at the staff. Staff covers their mistakes due to not focusing. Staff makes too many mistakes due to socializing with each other talking bout their honeymoon trips and personal stuff instead of caring properly All Nurses in icu will threaten you If you ask them to be quiet and be considerate to patients who need quite to heal from brain trauma. .sept 1 2022 5am. I recorded everything and still no change

My husband had surgery and has been in the hospital for many days. A few nurses have stood out to us for excellent care. His night nurses Kat and Lisa and the food service worker Alicia who came by everyday to take our orders were just a joy and made the stay manageable. They deserve a raise for sure.

Took my daughter in law in by ambulance. Made her wait outside in the hallway for over 7 hours before a doctor came to talk to us. He was the 2nd doctor on duty. First doctor lied about seeing her. Never talked to her. She had a broken leg that requires surgery. Been waiting in the hallway know for 17 hours and still not in a room. Scheduled for surgery in 9 hours. Too much noise to get any rest. Should have a place for patients that are scheduled for surgery to go to rest before actual surgery. This is the most unorganized hospital. No one communicates with each other.

Bad car crash victim comes in and a week later they try to discharge them with a broken knee. They have had them walking on for a week, and doesn't inform the patient that they have to have surgery the next day until 9 at night. I'm pretty sure some of the people there are nice and do right people, but I've never seen so many incompetent people in 1 place in my life. And I've never seen so many doctors wanting to give people tylenol after a surgery. I hope the hospital and the surgeons gets sued for negligence. It's inhumane to let people suffer. And when it's someone you love it makes you want to share the suffering...

I had a family member go to the ER recently via ambulance. The ER staff was not nice, was not professional, was not deserving of a Thank You and definitely in dire need of remedial medical training. My family member was discharged without any lab done and no direction, once released, attempted to wait in the waiting room for family to pick up, after 10 min told my family member had to wait outside in the cold (with fever). My family member isn't a dead beat looking for a fix for meds, or homeless just hanging out in your lobby,,,,I wouldn't take my dog to this hospital. As a former worker on two ambulance services, and family in the medical field, shame on you UofL..and BTW, tell the receptionists working patient check-in that if she doesn't like her job, LEAVE.

Your (hospital staff) are constantly under direct violation of EMTALA( anti dumping law) As a healthcare provider you are directed to follow the Hippocratic oath. In the oath, the physician pledges to prescribe only beneficial treatments, according to his abilities and judgment; to refrain from causing harm or hurt; and to live an exemplary personal and professional life. Dumping patients on the side of the road because you can't deal is inhumane not living an exemplary life. The social workers here are incompetent and unprofessional.

Anything that has the UofL Health logo has been absolutely garbage! I understand why people go elsewhere to work and/or seek medical care. Between University and Jewish..forget it! I wouldn't send my worst enemy there.

My opinion. Please avoid if possible. I thought that my care was adequate but I have had to run to so many doctors appointments this year that I have had to change my mind about my treatment. Next year I have to have several corrective surgeries because the hospital and its surgeons did inadequate work. Worst of all, when I was in the emergency room and swallowing my own blood, flat on my back, and in a lot of pain, someone made fun of me and mocked me because I asked him not to give me any stitches unless necessary. He really thought everything was humorous. ?? I'll try to forgive and forget this. Unfortunately not the best and most respectful care. Used to be one of the best hospitals in the nation at one time. I work for U of L too. If I was treated this poorly, I can only imagine how they treat most other folks!

Emergency department is the worst, was told by my Urologist to go to emergency department if having urinary problems, bladder was bleeding and they did nothing sat there from 9:00pm to 3:00am they never called my urologist or resident to let them know I was there so someone from urology could come and examine me took a urine sample from urinary bag instead of putting a sterile catheter in and getting an uncontaminated specimen to send to lab. Was told by a Dr. Martinez that it wasn't bleeding much and it more blood could come back. Any blood is to much when you are not to be bleeding at all from bladder

Dr. Ryan Shapiro is my plastic surgeon at U of L Hospital. I see him for reconstruction after breast cancer and a double mastectomy. He is a wonderful doctor! He is very personable and down to earth and admits when he is wrong and apologizes when he makes a mistake. He saved my life! I would recommend him to anyone. The same can be said about Dr. Nicolas Ajkay, my surgical oncologist from the Brown Cancer Center who saved my life twice at U of L Hospital! Some of the nurses are great too! I do have to warn you about the student nurses. I really don't mind letting them learn, however there is no control over the boundaries of the student nurses. They come in your room and pretend to be something they're not! They should not be allowed to enter a patients room without supervision!!! Parking and getting to the correct building and floor can be quite confusing as well.

Not meant as a statement to all the employees here, but for the overall establishment and those who allow some of the things that do happen here. What a trash hospital. Also with them allegedly being one of the hospitals in KY that are patient dumping. I would think they should be shut down, and their remaining patients/doctors to be referred elsewhere until it either proven or disproven. The fact that this hospital still functions freely, is further proof to me that the justice system and healthcare system in this country is corrupt and/or broken. It’s unfortunate that some really good and caring professionals, have to perform next to some of the worst examples in their respective industries.

I would give 0 stars if possible. Was transported here from a different hospital claiming it was the best trauma center. I was in a car accident suffering from weakness in upper and lower extremities along with numbness/ tingling with back and neck pain. The doctors and nurses barely saw me and then discharged me with no improvement and no diagnosis. They lied on my discharge paperwork saying I was walking with no issues and no longer had leg weakness when I could barely get my legs out of bed and was not walking. They told me my scans were perfect, but then I found out a few days later from my primary care doctor that I had scoliosis and a disc protrusion. They do not take care about patients and only look for ways to discharge patients so they have another bed. Did not offer any form of physical therapy or out patient treatment to help resolve my limb issues. Do not take anyone you love or care about here!

I am now on hour 4.5 of waiting in the ER to see a doctor for my smashed in teeth. Not much light at the end of the tunnel on when a doctor will see me. I have had 10+ people come in after me and be seen before me. I have never experienced such poor medical care and hope to never experience this awful of medical care again.

U of L was going to pull the plug on my son. One doctor spoke up and advised us to go to Jewish and put him on ecmo. Thank goodness he spoke up. He saved my sons life!! I have a complaint the hospital is so dirty! Bathrooms smell of urine! Dirty rooms! This is in icu! How can this be it’s truly unsanitary!! We were transferred back to u of l after ecmo to icu. What a great team at Jewish! What a fantastic team we received in icu! Couldn’t be happier! We love you all! By the way housekeeping has stepped up and it is much better! I was told they have more help. Good job housekeeping! Thanks to all the medical staff doctors, nurses, pca’s etc. We can’t thank you enough!!! Thanks to everyone don’t want to leave anyone out!! All of you helped us to get where we are now. We are going to rehab!!! A Christmas miracle!!!

Worst ER experience in my entire life. The nurses were rude and forced me to roommate with a mental patient that kept trying to put his feet on my wife. God forbid you need your meds on time, the nurses won’t respond to your page for 30-45 mins and then they give you an attitude because you asked for something.

This is not a hospital you ever want to go to. Go to suburban. Don’t EVER COME HERE!!! I just got told with a finger in my face to be quiet that I was being loud. But I’ve been talking like normal this whole time. Then they want to be laughing and being loud in the halls. Like wow this is how you treat people!!! I’m so mad.

We came in with stomach pain and ended up having a surgery. The only negative mark isn't even that negative..there was a horribly long wait time, but given this is a trauma response center that is understandable. The staff was very very nice and helpful. Couldn't have had better people to care for my son.

When you register/check in, they ask you to pay up front. Its not a specified amount, they just want something. What? Why? So I gave them (guessed) $100. I had already met my deductible so I overpaid.... AND THEY DID NOT REFUND ME! They just kept my money. Then, one of the nurses couldn't even draw blood! After stabbing my arm 5 times with no results, I had to insist she bring in someone else. WHAT NURSE CAN'T DRAW BLOOD? What a joke of a hospital. I will NEVER go here again

I was a patient for 24 hours in the ER last Saturday night after being hit by a car walking the dog. Everyone was so compassionate and caring… all the nurses ( especially Kirsten and Kendall) , doctors, X-ray techs CT scan folks and transporters. I was transferred to 9 South for two days and received great care there also. Sydney and Kin are great nurses! Being a nurse myself I was glad to see the hospital supported the School of Nursing and had several sweet students help take care of me my last day. Thanks to everyone!

If I could put minus starts I would. Had two very close relatives as inpatients here. Both died. My mother and brother. Different years. For my brother, they performed a surgery different than they should have. Very sloppy. Then had to several followups trying to fix. My brother died in that hosptial. My mother's care was even worse. I would'nt go here if last hospital on earth.

I have very mixed feelings regarding my stay at this hospital. Dr. Metzinger with OBGYN Oncology, was amazing. The incision site from surgery is immaculate. The nurses on the night shift. Were horrid. I had a procedure similar to a c-section, and was told that getting up and walking was essential to preventing blood clots and starting the healing process The night after my surgery I asked to walk around and was told there was a shift change and somone would be with me soon. An hour went by, and no one came. So I again asked to walk around. And they told me they are short staffed and will be with me shortly. Finally someone came to my room, but it was only to check vitals. No walking again. I decided I should at least sleep, and was awoken by my IV drip beeping because it was empty. I called the nurse and no one showed up Fter 30 minutes, so I called again. Someone came by and turned off the machine so I could sleep and was told my nurse would be in shortly with a new IV drip. They never came. The next time I saw someone was after a shift change and I mentioned no one had replaced my IV and they immediately changed it. I was ignored and lied to by the nurses at this hospital and I would never stay a night here again.

Well over a month of being here don’t leave your family members unattended they talk way to crazy to people that’s alone & especially older defenseless people rushing them being rude ignoring the for HOURS! Nurse techs all laughing and giggling for hours outside patient doors & are rude as heck to patients when they ask for stuff or press call buttons god forbid they have to get up & do anything other than talk out of all the techs I’ve had only TWO HAS BEEN GOOD! Housekeeping 80% are sweet older lady’s then almost everyone else rude nasty middle aged people who hate life and don’t wanna work! They need to make rose a manager so more people can see what they need to act like she’s sweet nice always has a smile & always does the job great cleans good and keeps the area sanitary, food service is sub par & a lot of the food is nasty straight out of the can tasting the almost never bring the right order even if tray has a list & you’re name on it. The people who come and deliver and pickup trays are 99% of them nice and polite but some need better time management/ retraining on routes or whatever, the Metz cafe is good 60% employees sweet alot the younger girls on days & nights need attitude adjustments or a job inside hospital kitchen rather than custom service , security is good George is phenomenal always polite and has a smile on his face and will be a listening ear if I need it 80% day shift nurses care mangers pt need retrained and attitude adjustments really bad makes the night shift ppl ( who except the 7th floor have been wonderful 7th fooor cardiac mixed unit staff is horrible especially 90% nurse techs nurses never showing up or anything

I would not take my dog to this hospital on the 7th floor in a regular room. These nurses and staff are the most rude and slow humans i have ever seen. And i was told welcome to the getto when my family member was put on that floor.its sad that you cant leave your loved one because you know they will suffer and get miss treated if you do. We have addressed our concerns to the floor charge nurse and got nowhere but excuses for everything.

The patient care is very scrambled. No one really communicates with one one another. Dietary is terrible. The food is okay if they bring it to you. The nsg staff is very kind just overworked. My friend didnt get his tray for dinner last evening. Nsg gave him a sandwich. They brought no breakfast this morning. He called and they said he had to wait til lunch time, which is at 3 pm. They really need to start over with all new dietary staff.

We had a family member go through this hospital. She first started in the Er. where she had excellent care. Tim was our care provider in the Er and we were extremely pleased with his service. Our daughter was moved up stairs latter where we continued to receive excellent care. I rated this hospital a 5 star, not because of it's cutting edge technology but because of its caring staff. As we evolve as humankind dose, we tend to forget the simple things that made us human. This hospital has an excellent balance of caring and being human too.

I will never come to this hospital again. I was transferred here from St. Mary's bc supposedly I would be seeing specialists. The first dr that came to the er before I had been admitted to my room spent all of 30 seconds and barely glanced at the problem. He talked down to me and tried to make decisions without even an exam and I asked him to please leave. I have bruises and hard knots all over both arms from them digging needles around in my arm to draw blood. And then when I said my iv was burning and starting to redden and harden the nurse kept pushing the fluid thru. When i came out of surgery i had a busted lip. Idk what they hit me with or suctioned to hard but its swollen inside and out. After surgery I was in extreme pain and was told to push my button if I needed my nurse. After all 3 scheduled pain med times came and went I was laying here crying I called the nurse. Then after an hour and a half I had to call the nurse again before someone finally came another 20 minutes later. Busy or not I came here for a very serious issue and I have felt completely unimportant, ignored and frankly a little abused. None of this is ok. When people are in excruciating pain they are super vulnerable and shouldn't be treated so horrible. All I want is to go home. I would never suggest this hospital to anyone, in fact I will do my best to deter anyone from coming here.

My husband went to the ER today for kidney stones. The Doctor then proceeded to tell my husband that he didn't actually feel pain. The first thing that pops up when you google kidney stones is how painful they are with a legit picture of someone hunched over. I can assure you my husband wouldn't waste hours in the crowded louisville ER on his day off mind you for no reason. He was then escorted out by security for expressing his disagreement as well as want for another doctor, there wasn't one available. I can only assume this doctor is overwhelmed and overworked to lie so blatantly and refuse to acknowledge obvious pain.

Never wanted to end up in the hospital, but after being shot in the face I didn't have much choice. The staff are generally amazing and do the best the can given any situation. My ER team saved my life, and my surgery team have done an amazing job to get me a new jaw. Unfortunately, the hospital has the only trauma ward and as a result is extremely crowded. If you don't have to go here consider other local hospitals, but if you do, know you are in the best hands.

Laid on bed in misery. Nurses were very curt. Dr was good. I will never darken there door again. I want to get sober and heal my pancreas. Being in here I want to go drink I was so excited to get help and chose a rehab. This is my worst hospital experience and I guess I'll die the alcoholic death😞

I had same day surgery here recently, and was pleasantly surprised by the staff, nurses, doctors. The whole staff worked well together. Worked diligently to put my fears at rest, were very patient with my physical issues and went out of the way to make me comfortable and ready for surgery. If I have any more procedures in the future I want this doctor and nurse team they are exemplary in there efforts. Was probably my best experience in a hosp setting. That was an amazing crew, thank you

Today I took a friend over for a CAT scan we pulled up to the wrong building and was confused where we should be a very cheerful valet her name was Kelly ran over to the car and offered to help with directions. Told us exactly where to go and explain the valet system to us. We were not brown cancer patients, but she cheerfully offered to park the car and get us situated was very informative on the procedure on the car parking and explained in case I was running late coming out what would happen and what to do Kelly was exactly what every hospital needs at the front door to greet the visitors. I was so impressed Kelly treated us like kings Kelly is a definite plus for this hospital going forward through the hospital to downstairs every employee we ran into was so nice and informative and gave us directions we were in and out in an hour for a CT scan we were impressed You’re well staff please keep up your good work.

For anyone considering a travel contract at UoFL in Kentucky, don’t. Save yourself the headache. Even the staff will tell you that the hospital sucks. You will be hired under false pretenses. I know people say, “well everyone’s experience is different.” Which I agree. However, I’m ER and we do not get floated but they have ER contracts (low pay but hotel paid for) and you will not be in the ER. Admissions holding unit away from civilization with few supplies and support. The staff nurse on my last shift was crying most of the day (she’s been there for 6 years) and told house sup that she was done working for that hospital. So I flew home today. Taken from an anonymous poster.

Still waiting in the ER 4 hours later. How do they determine the level of care and pain with a patient. U of L is nothing like the UK hospital. Claim they're a trauma hospital but, can't provide basic service. U of L might need tips on how to run the ER correctly.

Recently I was put under a Mental Inquest Warrent by 2 of my estranged children who have been separated from me most all their lives and do not know me whatsoever and will not take the time to know me because I cried out to them for love and attention that's all I wanted but instead I received a mental inquest and was forced into coustody and took to u of l hospital .. I must say that at first I was Disturbed of course anyone would be;, but the people there and the staff showed nothing but compassion and care for not just me but all the people I've seen coming and going through the trials of that terrible situation I would hope that no one ever has to endure what I've endured but I'm very thankful that the caring staff of u of l hospital did such a great job and I thank them. This is for the GI Motility Clinic: I saw Dr Stocker back in August. At that visit she recommended a procedure and labs. She indicated they would come get me for the labs and then schedule the procedure. I was then left in the room for over an hour. I finally left the room, found some random person walking the halls who then took me for labs. I was never brought to a scheduler for my procedure. I had to make another appointment in November because I still had not been scheduled for my procedure. Went in, saw the PA - she acknowledged that the doc recommended I needed procedure and indicated I would be contacted by scheduler within a week or two. The that was mid November. Early December I called and got routed around till I got the scheduler. She took my info and said she would call me back by that Friday. The Monday after THAT deadline had passed I messaged via app asking for status of my procedure. I was told I would be scheduled by the 16th. It is now almost January and I have still not been scheduled. Called the scheduler again and I get still the generic “there are people ahead of you but I should have you scheduled by the end of the week”. I know this is a lie. Do not come here. Go to Cleveland. They have to be better than THIS.

On 10/22/22, I visited the U of L Hospital emergency room after a fall and arm injury. The care I received from the PA and radiology was efficient and thorough; however, the visit came back to haunt me recently when I received notice of a “derogatory” remark on my credit report. On 11/20/23, I spoke with Janice Shields at U of L Physician Billing who informed me there was no mailing address on file; my account was marked “NPA.” Although I provided my driver’s license in the ER, the hospital only had my name & SSN on file - no mailing or email address, incorrect phone number. At that time, Janice updated my account with my mailing address, email address & phone number. She also emailed a copy of the physician’s bill for reading my X-rays. That bill for $37 was promptly paid. A call to the collection agency confirmed my file was marked “NPA” (no personal address). I was also Informed by my account manager the DOB in my file was incorrect. Like the hospital, the collection agency never communicated with me regarding the unpaid debt. A call to Emergency Medicine billing was necessary in order to get a copy of my ER bill. Again, my mailing address had to be added to the account in order for the representative to mail it to me. A week later, on 11/29/23, I finally saw the bill for the first time. One year, one month, and seven days after being seen in the ER… A benefit consultant for my husband’s employer contacted our insurance about submitting the claim. I received the following response: “Anthem confirmed that the claim was not submitted for processing. They reached out to the provider and spoke with Annie who advised that the member was sent to collections for this date of service $680 because she did not provide the Anthem ID for billing even though the provider sent her a bill in November, December, and January. They next sent a collection notice in February and every month since then. The balance will be patient responsibility because the provider attempted to obtain the filing information within the timely filing limit and there was not response from the patient.” It’s unfortunate the hospital/provider seems to be missing the fact they didn’t have a mailing address on file, making it impossible to send bills as stated above. I first learned of the outstanding balance when I received a notification from CreditWise of a “derogatory” mark on my credit report more than a year later. Not only can I not submit it for insurance coverage, but I also have to deal with a debt collector to clear the outstanding balance AND wait for it to be expunged from my credit report. While I had no issues with my medical care at U of L Hospital, a key part of the patient care/customer service process is lacking. What happened to the copy of my driver’s license? Why wasn’t my chart flagged for missing information? Due to a lack of attention to detail, I am now dealing with a negative mark on my credit report and additional hassle.

Everyone has different experiences. Her's mine. I spent the night there with my mom. One by one the staff (medical, maintenance, security, food court, janitorial...) Were polite, professional and energetic. (The last nurse we had, the cafeteria cook and the 7th floor janitor were exceptional) Needless to say, Thanks everyone

The care is good but, when a family member is in ICU and they close visitation down from 6:30-830 am and pm it already limits the visitation and only 2 at a time. However, when u get here at 8:45am expecting to see your loved on and are told you will have to wait 30 mins bc the nurse is "working on her" I understand things come up but, this should be worked in from the staff and higher ups.

My husband was hospitalized at U of L in the stem cell transplant unit for 37 days. The hospital staff was wonderful!!! When they had to call in doctors from other units like ICU and nephrology and infectious disease… they were all great!! The nurses are highly professional and caring. A special thank you to Sally for her chocolate protein shakes that were the best part for my husband. We couldn’t be more thankful for the wonderful staff at U of L. There’s not enough words to thank the whole transplant team and doctors. You are the best!! To the guys that did his central line… you guys really put him at ease. It’s hard to find a hospital that in every department you can truly say you were treated like a person and not a number.

This place is a nightmare and the closest place to hell on Earth. Security kicked me out on the streets during psychiatric breakdown, physicians feed the wrong medications for my symptoms, and the billing department was unorganized- billed the wrong insurance and never sent me a bill; but didn’t mind sending me to collections. If you value your life financially and physically don’t go to UofL. It’s the worst hospital experience I’ve ever had.

I have been a patient here God knows how many times over the years. That includes the er, inpatient, outpatient, tests, labs, etc. A large majority of the time I have had great care here, and a few times here and there the care was poor. I guess it depends on who your drs, and nurses are that are treating you. They really dont want me to do a review based on my last trip to the er there.

Billing department very unprofessional. Don't process the bills on time, which end up patient don't utilize the insurance benefits properly. And most of all they don't respond properly if they find mistake is from their side and keep on telling the same information which you already know with out talking on real problem. Very unprofessional.

Everybody i ever knew tbat went hear alive from another hospital ended up dying and in worse condition. I got shot and i seen my chest get goey i went there. They said i was ok. I didnt belive them and went to another hospital and they said i had an infection from thw bullet wound. Most if their doctors are fresh out of college and are getting experience off patients my cousin, my friend, and another friend were talking at another hospital they transferred them there. They operated on them and they died.

The staff there saved my son's life on several occasions. He had the best care by the best. He's there now. Hillcrest Rehab didn't do their job so U of L is having to clean up their mess.

My Mom was hit as a pedestrian and was sent to UofL. At first i was upset she went there because the hospital was known for poor care, BUT Mom received great care. I was really impressed with the way the ER staff handled her situation. They kept calm when speaking to the family and kept us in the loop on everything...great job! After her surgery she was sent to the 6th floor for recovery. I cannot say enough about the nursing staff on that floor...particularly Brittany and Judy...wonderful care each and every day. The nurses were upbeat, positive and took time to really listen and be a part of our family. Not only did Mom receive great care...Brittany and Judy cared for the family. On occassionas when i was emotionally exhausted and overwhelmed the nursing staff always asked if i was ok...they chit chatted a bit and some even had a joke to share to keep my spirits high. The nursing staff will always be remembered for going above and beyond. There were a few bumps while we were there...the ghettoness of the cafeteria staff, being told Mom already ordered her food for the day when she couldn't speak in the phone...this craziness added to the stress of the situation. I must point out once i found the right person to share these concerns with the issues were addressed promptly...the higher ups even came to Mom's bedside to apologize...that meant the world to us. There was also the ortho team...I was not happy with those assigned to Mom. They came in too strong with Mom's physical therapy. Mom had laid in a bed without any therapy for 3 days and she was suppose to jump out of bed and stand on her own. The ortho team also threw us an unexpected bomb...telling us day of they were discharging Mom...she couldn't stand and was barely able to make it to the porta potty next to the bed. I had to request a case manger to mediate. After that point Mom received excellent care and attention what she deserved all along. With the help of a couple of case workers Mom was transferred to a rehab facility and is now doing awesome. I am so proud of her!

My 43yo brother went to ER for persistent chest pains, just tb on the safe side. He was having a heart attack. All his heart arteries were 80-100% blocked. The care he received and the timeliness of was excellent. The communication with my brother and I was excellent as well from here to the Heart Hospital. I’m most grateful. Pack your own if you’re heart health conscious because the cafeteria doesn’t offer a good selection for healthy hot foods.

All the staff treated me like I was a human, that was great. As far as I am aware I was given great service, but since I am not trained and that is not my job, it would be hard for me to say the service was great. I got stitches here from an attack that happened to me. I have the whole attack on video.

There are no words to explain how extremely terrific and professional the staff are here!!! They were so quick to make me feel comfortable and reassure me that they would figure out what's wrong. They got straight to work with tests, medicine, iv and making me feel comfortable. To think I have NEVER been here before! I know what I have been missing now, an actual MEDICAL TEAM THAT KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING!!! you all are Amazing.... Doctors, Nurses, techs, registration, transport, housekeeping!!!! So grateful for you. If I haven't made the choice to be discharged from 1 emergency room and come straight to you...I would probably be dead! To be diagnosed with a GI bug, at another hospital, to a diagnosis of an ovarian abscess 6cmx5cm!!!!

I don’t usually take the time to do reviews, but I felt that this nurse should be recognized. My dad was at UofL in room 914 on October 9th when there was a mix up in his transport. His nurse, Breezy was amazing! She not only resolved the situation she calmed my dad down and was a great support to me that I didn’t even realize I needed. I truly hope that UofL realizes what an asset to the hospital that Breezy is! Also if this some how gets back to this amazing Irish lass thanks for everything that you did for my dad and myself! I will always be grateful!

I highly do NOT recommend going to this hospital for an emergency unless it is trauma. I am pregnant with twins and was having abdominal pain and I was not taken care of as if it was an emergency. They didn’t feed me or give me fluid all day and I was there for 10 hours for them to just tell me that all I had was a UTI and that I was having baby growing pains. If you get a nurse practitioner named Angelia Zeller ask for someone else because she will not treat you well. She did a cervix check on me which I did not need and it was very painful. She also tried to get me to take contrast for an MRI and I told her no because of me being pregnant and she continually insisted on me taking contrast when I had already explained that it would not be healthy for my babies. After explaining that I had not talked to anyone from labor & delivery being that I am pregnant I felt that I wasn’t being taken care of properly. I made it known to her that if I had to I would leave and go to Norton Women and Children where I know my needs would be met. She then said that she was going to let the MRI know that I refused contrast and slammed the door as she walked out. DO NOT GO TO UOFL HOSPITAL!

Being known for patient dumping isn't a good look for a hospital that is suppose to help and treat people. And then retaliating against employees who speak out about your federal law violations... sounds like more federal violations on the whistle-blower violations side of things.
