My son has been at Kindred since 2/12/22, the care he has received is incredible! From the CEO, all the way to the employees that keep our room tidy. The staff are so kind, comforting and informative! We have come to feel like a family to several of them. My son has been treated so kindly and with such compassion, it's easy to see why others would choose to come to this facility. Their knowledge is vast! We were told at a local hospital that we would need to start making palliative decisions, little did they know, God had other plans for us. Please know there are options & Kindred showed us just that! After leaving the hospital,he was transported to Kindred 16 days later, & although not totally recovered yet, he IS responding to us, no longer on a ventilator! More exciting news to follow in the coming months!

My mom come to Kindred when we thought she wasn’t going to make it. The staff truly took great care of my mom and my family. My mom was at kindred for 6 months before she passed due to cancer. When I say all the staff and CNA went above and beyond for the care of my mom. Even her doctor had great bedside manners. They truly became family to our family. They knew us by name and anything we needed they were they to help. Although my mom isn’t with us, I’m so pleased she spent her last days at Kindred Downtown.

My care was very thorough and the staff was very professional. A big thank you to all the doctors, administrative staff and nurses that assisted me. The Nurse Practitioner Raj, Nurse Kiaa and Wound Care Coordinator Aveal made my stay easier to deal with. I wish I could list every physician who help with my care, but there was way too many. The Lab Technician's and House Keeping also deserve recognition.

I only had a short stay at Kindred but it was very successful. Their staff was competent and very kind. I enjoyed my walks with Chloe and the respiratory therapists were great. 5 stars all around!

My original review was pretty negative 3 months ago. Things did get off to a rough start the first 24hrs. Since that time my husband has been in this facility twice and I have to admit his care has been top notch. From the housekeeping staff up to the CEO he has been treated as a beloved family member. Thanks to all.

The first week that my dad came in I left a bad review because of a few issues I had that have since been addressed. Since then my father has has excellent care. The nurses and aides he has are taking such good care of him. The Respiratory Therapists there are my dads Angels. When the U/L Pulmonary Doctors told us that my dad would never come off the vent and there would have to be decisions made the Respiratory Therapists didnt give up on him. My dad is now weaned from the vent and will be going to another Kindred facility for PT. I dont know last names but I want to send out a big THANK YOU to Nurses- Sherrie, Courtney,& Kia....Nurses Aides -Anna, Brian, and Diane Respiratory Therapists- Tim, Scott, and Nathan Thank you all so much for not giving up on my dad! I also want to send a thank you to Vara, Kerry and Heather for taking my and my families concerns with understanding and compassion. So I withdraw my previous comment because you guys all ROCK and now I can not say enough good things about Kindred.

HORRIBLE!!! I wouldn't recommend this facility to ANYONE!!! Upon visiting I found my fiance' in urine and feces on several occasions. I was the only one who changed his linen on a daily basis and I was the only one who gave him a bath daily. One day I was so fed up with how dirty and unorganized his room was that I walked down the hallway and demanded a broom. I proceeded to sweep, clean and disinfect his room! On another occasion a member of the staff attempted to give him a dialysis treatment and when my fiance' questioned this, the staff member said it was a "mistake" and the paperwork called for the dialysis catheter to be removed. I have countless other issues with this facility, INCLUDING A NURSE WHO WAS PHYSICALLY ROUGH, but there isn't enough space. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE TO KINDRED JEWISH HOSPITAL. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!

Horrible communication. They do have some thoughtful shift nurses and kind respiratory therapist. Administrative staff is rude.

90% of the people here were really good. I did recover well but I had hoped to leave here and get home. Unfortunately I have to make another stop first. Overall it was a good stay with only a few bumps I the road.

I had really great nurses and respiratory people during my stay. I’d name all of them if I could. I’m real nervous to be going home but everyone tells me I will be ok. The therapy girls were great too.

My mother just had heart surgery and was having problems getting off the ventilator so we went to Kindred to get her winged off the ventilator and she started having panic attacks because no one would ever come and check on her especially at night. I would visit everyday and only saw the nurse one time if any and a Dr would barely come in the door and said heart is good and ran out 2 seconds later. I informed them of our concerns and they said they would do better but they did not, and after a month of being there my mother is no longer with us.

My husband was a Kindred for almost a month. The respiratory care team was amazing. Some of the nurses are the best I have every come across. Not only are they knowledgeable, but they are friendly and very caring. He only met people who truly care for what they do from Angel, the wonderful woman who cleaned his room, to Nate, the super caring respiratory therapist who never minded getting him a cup a coffee when he was asked. I wish I could individually name every single nurse, aid, OT/PT/ST, house cleaning and respiratory care therapist because of all of you, my husband is getting better and will be home soon. You all will always hold a special place in my family's heart and we are forever grateful for the care you gave to Randy. THANK YOU!!!

My husband was a patient at Kindred at Jewish in December 2019. Overall we had a good experience. Most of the nurses & staff were really good to us. There were a couple nurses in particular on 2nd shift that went above and beyond. One was Hanna and unfortunately I can’t remember the other lady’s name. Joyce, one of the 2nd shift managers was also great. their compassion really helped us get through some rough days & nights.

What a caring staff and hospital should be! The care provided to my aunt while she was there for several weeks was second to none. Professional, attentive, and constant communication from the staff and our doctor helped tremendously. Also very nice to see management out and about with the staff helping. I think they got new beds a while back and while it was very crowded, they all worked so great together. Would recommend this hospital without hesitation!

I started my nursing career at Kindred Jewish and am now a former employee. This facility taught me everything I know about clinical nursing and help mold me into the nurse I am today. The staff is amazing, supportive, and very caring of their patients safety. The staff works together to ensure the patients are being taken care of, and that the outcomes are positive. Working there felt like I was working with family. I found the respiratory department to be especially phenomenal. The RT's would take time to ensure their patients were taken care of and they always took time out to answer questions that families or nursing staff would ask. The management is outstanding as well! The nurse manager, Heather, and the director of nursing, Vara, continue to be the most supportive people I've encountered. They are genuinely invested in their employees and go out of their way to show it. They are remarkable people that help Kindred Jewish function. I haven't experienced many CEO's taking the time out of their busy schedules to go into a patients room to answer a call light, but Tim will. He is supportive of the staff and works hard to ensure patients have positive outcomes at this facility. The year and a half I spent at this Kindred helped me appreciate and understand nursing more.
