I can’t thank the staff at Kindred Hospital Louisville enough for all they have done for me. The wound care that was provided to me has saved my arm. Especially Hugo the wound nurse and his team was exceptional! Gail in discharge planning has worked with me closely throughout my stay to make sure I was set up for success after discharge. Anna the nurse was so caring and thanks to Pam and Michelle for being so supportive. The doctors are great, my room stayed clean and the food was good. I really appreciate everything that everyone has done for me. THANK YOU ALL!!!

Kindred Hospital Louisville has done an excellent job with my wounds. This place has my wounds better than any other place I have ever been. They keep them all changed and clean. I have been monitored very closely and it shows how skilled the team of healthcare workers are here at Kindred. My one wound is completely healed and the other two are almost completely healed. I am so grateful for the team work and caring staff who have cared for me. The nurses and doctors here have been really pleasant and they take the time to listen. They bend over backwards to care for you and treat me so nice. I couldn’t ask for nicer nurses. The cleaning ladies here do an exceptional job, that makes a whole lot of difference. The bedside care and communication is top notch. Thank you all!

Thank you Kindred Hospital Louisville for helping me regain my strength, begin walking and talking again and for getting my breathing tube out. The nurses and doctors have been extremely helpful. I am blessed to be going home and am so grateful for the wonderful skilled care I have received. Thank you all for keeping me on track and for giving me my life back. Thanks to the team for communicating with me and meeting my goals of going home. God Bless you all.

15 star facility! The staff here at Kindred Hospital Louisville have been a life saver. I was sick with post COVID symptoms breathing with a trach and eating through a tube unable to talk or eat. With the individualized treatment plan I am now walking, eating and talking. My trach has been removed and I am ready to go back home to my family. I can't say enough about the wonderful staff and doctors that have cared for me. They have great bedside manner and really treated me like family which helped me stay positive. It's like this place is ran by Angels 😇. You are truly cared for and cared about.

I stayed here for two and a half weeks for rehab after getting out of the hospital for covid pneumonia. I really can't say enough good things about Kindred. Everyone was so friendly, kind and encouraging, and I loved the meals. My family and I appreciated the team meeting in my room each Thursday. My family could listen on the phone and ask questions. After my first such meeting, the crew moved on to another patient's room and after a minute, I heard them clapping and cheering for that patient. It just made me smile. The different workers get along and help each other out a lot. I particularly enjoyed meeting Shanetta, Jolean and Mireille. Shanetta moved me along energetically in my respiratory therapy and got me out sooner rather than later. The other ladies were fun and sweet. I want to than each person involved in my care these past few weeks.

This facility is horrendous. My mom was there and I went to visit everyday- she was progressing pretty well before she got there. By the end of the week, I told them of a few concerns I had about her declining. Some of the excuses I was told “there isn’t enough staff for PT/OT/Speech to work with her everyday,” “we aren’t a rehab facility.” Over the weekend she started to decline even more, I requested them to investigate, got push back and a lot of attitude for this request. From eye rolls, to management in defending their staff about lack of assessments. On Monday when I went to see my mom, the entire left side of her body was flaccid. I asked when this started and no one could give me a definite time. They had to go by when I last visit (the day before at 4:30). My mom has a brain bleed that had gone unnoticed by the doctors and nurses despite my concerns and requests to investigate. The unprofessionalism I saw at this facility was heartbreaking. From hearing nurses talk about “not knowing how to use vital signs machines” to get updated vitals or “they don’t know how to check results for lab work.” They continuously kept giving my mom narcotics at very inconvenient times- so a lot of her evals were unable to be completed because she was too tired. I do not recommend this facility.

I have been here at Kindred a few times and once again they took great care of me. They have helped me with my wound and got rid of my infection. Doctor was good and addressed all my needs quickly. Everyone is so nice even the housekeeper that cleans my room daily is so nice. Thanks for the care!

I highly recommend kindred hospital for anyone who needs long care for anything. They have great nurses who will tend to your care and who will make sure your comfortable while your there. And the food is great also. If you don't want what they are serving that day you can pick from a good variety of other food to eat.

I wish there was an option for zero stars. My father spent 9 months in this facility and to say our experience was horrific is an understatement. My father entered this facility with a trach in place. However, he was not on a ventilator upon admission. He was unable to hit a Nurse call button, nor was he able to communicate with them out of the nine months he was there. There were three nurses that seem to truly Care about their patients outside of those three. If you ask any questions, you were giving attitude immediately patient such as my father there was a need to be turned every two hours and of course when you asked the staff if he was being turned, they weren’t complete idiots. They would tell you yes Countless times I would be there three and four hours at a time and it would be myself and my husband that would turn him because a nurse would never dark in the door the entire time we were there my father was also on dialysis I was told upon admission from U of L That they had individuals inside the hospital that done dialysis they did not tell me it was an outside company that came in to do dialysis one of my visits. I walked in to find my father literally suffocating due to fluids building up on his body and he was waiting for the dialysis nurse to show up , I asked his nurse if he had been breathing so labored all day and she said yes when the respiratory team came in, they were immediately concerned and informed me that my father had not in fact been breathing, so labored all day they done a blood gas on him and needless to say from the time they got the blood gas to willing the ventilator down the hall was less than 10 minutes. They performed a debridement on the sores he had post debridement. It was easy to say I could place one of my first and half of the other into one of the stores. He was literally missing the whole bottom, half of his left buttock cheek and parts of his inner leg. Upon arrival on three different occasions, I find that my fathers pump that was pumping nutrition into his feeding tube had stopped. I then demanded notes from the previous shift. He had gone more than 12 hours without his prescribed nutrition all because a nurse stated that she got tired of fooling with it, so she just shut it off. I could go on and on about my experience with this facility. My father unfortunately passed away on November 26, 2022. I will go to my grave hating myself for ever allowing my father to be transferred to this horrific facility. His caseworker was the head of that department and in my experience it is the caseworker that takes care of things such as getting a patient switched from medicare to Medicaid so that if he were to be well enough to be transferred to a long-term facility, the Medicaid process would have at least been started, but not in this facility they leave that responsibility to the family member. The bedside manner of the nurses with a patient such as my father that could not speak, could barely move any part of his body was absolutely the worst I e ever encountered. I could go in and on about my experience but just as I was told when I asked the floor supervisor and case worker to read some of their Google reviews and how bad they are I was told all businesses have both good and bad reviews. Which is absolutely true. I have hundreds of pictures of the condition my father was left in and I walked in on many times. I have no idea how this facility is still up and running. And if you are unfortunate enough to have a family member to land in this facility, just remember do not question them about anything. That will be when everything starts to take a fall. I would gladly share the pictures that I have for anyone that is interested or thinking about placing a family member in this facility. Make sure you have a good attorney on stand by.

I got to Kindred for continued care after I had an accident. I don't really know what happened but since I have been at Kindred they have helped me physically and mentally. I am so appreciative of the wonderful nursing, medical and physical care I have received. Because of the speech therapy I was able to have my feeding tube removed and now I am eating independently. I have enjoyed working with the Rehab team which have made me stronger and got me walking again. The nurses, doctors and administration team have all been so nice and caring. My overall experience at Kindred has been 10 stars, from the cleanliness and kindness from the Housekeeper to the lady that takes my meal order. Everyone has been caring and kind. The weekly meetings are great and I like how they keep me informed throughout my stay. Now I am ready to get home and be with my family. Thank you for all your help and God Bless you all!

My stay here at Kindred Healthcare has been very reassuring and made me very confident that I will walk again. My Rehab team already has me walking with a walker. Pam the Patient Relations rep helped me shave when I arrived at Kindred since I was unable to shave at the other hospital. That really boosted my confidence and now I can shave myself. The staff on 2 North are very rapid with response to my call light. They are very attentive to all of my needs and wants. They keep me laughing and help keep my mind off of the things that stress me out.

I have had a great stay at Kindred Hospital Louisville. With the expert care of the Respiratory care team I was weaned off the ventilator. Speech therapy helped me to swallow again and talk. Physical therapy worked with me to regain my strength and now I am waking. Housekeeping did a great job keeping my room clean. Sometimes in facilities theres a smell, but not here. Kindred has no smell, its amazing and it helped me recover. The people here are really nice but sometimes the call light response is slow. I really did like the food, it is very good and I have enjoyed it. Whoever is running this hospital is doing a great job! Keep it up. Thank you!

I really liked the weekly meetings which made sure I was kept informed with my care and on track for discharge in a timely manner. Housekeeping clean my room daily and I really. The rehab was really good and helped me get stronger. Now I am ready to discharge home. Bye!

I feel like Kindred Hospital has done everything right since I have been here. I like this hospital much better than the other places. I really like how they keep me informed by explaining my care plan you me. The floor staff takes really good care of me. Physical Therapy is working really hard with me even though I am still working on side stepping. The ARC dialysis team has been great! Overall my care has been excellent! A big thank you you everyone.

My stay was wonderful at Kindred with many of the nurses but one stands out. Genavive was there for me from the get go. All nurses should be like her. Jackie was also wonderful and knew how to handle me when i got spunky. Luse nurse was very caring and wonderful. Then theres Pam who made me feel special and feel pretty and was easy to talk to. But your food sucks. If i had issues i reported it and it was taken care right away. I like the weekly meetings kept me informed of my treatment plan and discharge plan. I really like Dr. Maldonado that completed my surgery. I really like him. I hope uou continue to get better. Thank You!

Actually I really enjoyed my stay at Kindred Hospital louisville. Some of the nurses went above and beyond. Hannah was my absolute favorite RN and Tracy CNA because they really got to know me. They treated me like family and took the time to listen to me and have real conversations. . That really means a lot to me. I do wish the call light response time was a little faster. At times it took longer than I want it. But I do understand they have other patients so this didn't upset me. I also want to thank Pam for being my advocate and assisting me by getting me prepared for discharge. And Kathy for working with me on transportation and medication . Almost every conversation started with Pam asking " what can I do for you or what do you need" Kindred really cares about their patients . If I ever have an option of hospitals I will choose Kindred . Rob is great in Rehab . Respiratory therapy and the entire team went beyond what I thought could happen . This caused my healing to happen so much faster than expected. The food tastes really good but sometimes I got things I didn't order. But either way I am very happy with the care I have received at Kindred. Dr Rice was great. Again I highly recommended this hospital and am grateful for everyone!

I am a patient of The Louisville Wound Care institute. Dr. Banis is the plastic surgeon, and he is simply wonderful. He has years of experience and the best attitude. But this isn’t just a review for him. All of the staff at The Louisville Wound Care institute are simply amazing. They truly care about their patients, and the results speak for themselves. I am truly blessed to have been referred to these folks.

I'm very greatful for the care I recieved at Kindred. All the nurses, CNA's, Aids, Doctors, Kitchen staff, PT staff, OT staff, and cleaning staff, were awesome. You can tell they truly love what they do. They help make me as a parent fill comfortable and take time to make sure I feel at ease and show that they truly care and want us to get better and on our feet again. I would definitely refer a friend or family member here for care.thanks to all that made my stay as pleasant as possible as I recuperated.

My stay at Kindred has been good more than bad. The nurses, doctors and therapist have treated me well. The food wasn't very good but provided me the nutrition I need to get well. Some service took awhile but even with that I am glad I was here for my recovery. As a whole, in the most part I have been treated well and I love it here. I just thank God for all of you. If I ever need a hospital stay again I want to come back Kindred!

On Aug. 3, 2023, I found myself in a ferocious battle to rid my body of gangrene. It started with the removal of a large portion of my groin… leaving a gaping hole in my thigh. My wound had to be constantly packed and repacked… while a steady barrage of antibiotic infusions forced the infection from my body. If I told you I wasn’t afraid… if I told you I wasn’t preparing for the worst… I would be lying. Because with gangrene, you’re never really out of the woods until you’re completely out of the forest. There was a narrow path to getting the upperhand on this deadly infection. But it all depended on strict adherence to the treatment plan. And that’s where a registered nurse by the name of Ms Khahleelah Muhammad stepped into the picture and administered the treatment prescribed for me with meticulous attention to details and with great care. Her impact was immediate! Standing only about 5’ tall, Ms Khahleelah, although soft-spoken, was not at all timid about ensuring that I received the highest level of care possible on her watch. What I experienced throughout this critical stretch of my treatment was a highly-skilled professional, a problem-solver and an extremely gracious woman with a huge heart and a sincere dedication to her patients. Thank you, Ms Khahleelah! I will forever be grateful to Ms Khahleelah and a whole wonderful array of truly dedicated nurses and aids at Kindred Hospital.who I’ve had the pleasure of taking care of me… Ms Laura, Ms Rose, Ms Alex, Ms Yoliet, Ms Ali, Ms Yudith, Ms Tamara, Ms Roniasha, Ms Maggie, Ms Lisa, Mr Amaury, Mr Roland, Ms Hanna, Ms Carmen, Mr Luis, Ms Litzandria, Ms Raven, Ms Nakita, Ms Caroline, Ms Camille, Ms Bree, Ms Maggie, Ms Waneisha, Ms Daeja, Ms Evelyn, Ms Haylin, Ms Analdys, Ms Jae, Ms Mikyana, Ms Keisha and sO many others!

When I first got here I was scared but the women that I first met made my transition easy. I talked alot with Pam, my granddaughter and my family who reassured me. I also really enjoyed talking with Anitra who took my menu order everyday. Tony in Respiratory talks with me even if I don't need anything he stops by to check in. Daily I kept getting better and stronger because of all of the wonderful people and exceptional care.I am so happy I came to Kindred for contuned care, the people are nice, the hospital is clean and the food is good. God Bless each and every one of the hospital angels that helped to save me.

Some of the things I want to recognize during my stay was the bedside manner of the staff here at Kindred was caring, professional and sweet. The bedside manner are beyond reproach. I never waited long after calling for assistance. They always explained everything to me and communicated very well. Most of the nurses went above and always asked me if I needed anything before they left my room. A special recognition to Sarah, Sydney, Sary and Janice for always being extra kind and treated me like family. They are patient oriented! Joe, RN was my first nurse I met and really got me settled. I cant say thank you enough for helping me get settled. The Physical Therapy team are absolutely amazing especially Daniel. They take the fear out of doing an exercise for the first time. With their encouragement they made it easier for me to complete my treatments. I really appreciated the care and time the Pulmonary team educated me on my oxygen needs.

Whenever I arrived at Kindred I was under the impression that it was something else. But since I've been here the bedside manner of the nurses has exchanged my mind. They are the sweetest most compassionate and sincere people that I have ever met. I never had a good experience in Louisville until now Kindred has completely changed my mind. I do want to mention Genevieve Jalet and Louise. I don't understand how they get their shirts on every morning for the wings they have. They really have been angels I would suggest Kindrefdto anybody. I don't have much to say about the food but everything else has been great. I came in for a spider bite and didn't really want to stay. But With the support from the staff I was able to stay to complete my treatment. The medical attention you receive at Kindred is second to none. Thank you for all the blessings that Kindred has bestowed on to me.

I've been a patient of the Louisville wound care center located in Kindred Hospital for about 8 weeks. The whole staff treated me like family and very welcomed. Dr. Hudzinski was very thorough and great at what he does. How could he not when he has nurses like Jennifer and Teri on his team. These ladies always went above and beyond to make sure I received the best care. Kudos to the whole team. I'm truly grateful! Thank you! Melissa Davis

I was a patient for 5 weeks after having multiple strokes.I have to be honest the RN's and CNA's are over worked and under paid... without Pam the patient advocate, Nikita and Emily who are both RN's, Raven a CNA, and Mike from physical therapy I wouldn't have stayed!! These people had great positive attitudes and worked with me multiple times throughout her recovery and helped me never lose faith. This very supportive team standing beside me is the reason I went from not getting around great to walking out after discharge (with Pam by my side). Thank you to everyone that was part of my recovery and helped keeps me motivated. Much love to all, Courtney Allgeier ❤️❤️

I went to Kindred for continued medical care and IV antibiotic therapy after the other hospital couldn't help me anymore. All the nurses were so nice and kept me laughing which made my stay go by easier. The wound care nurses were wonderful and really took great care of me. The doctors and all the other staff were all good. I have no complaints and highly recommend this hospital for anyone that needs extended care. 10 stats!

I was a patient at the Louisville wound care institute, and through my many visits, the care I was given was excellent. I have been in several wound care centers prior, and Louisvilles' was by far the best. The nurses were extremely helpful and knowledgable.

All of the staff including nursing, aides, housekeeping, wound care etc have been great. They were always so kind and courteous and prompt. I just love them and I couldn't ask for better staff. I appreciated the weekly bedside huddle meeting that kept me informed. I highly recommend Kindred and will come back if I ever need long-term medical care again.

They would get 0 star if that was an option. My sister had her spleen taken out and had sepsis at Norton Hospital. She was transferred to Kindred Hospital for rehabilitation. Since she has been a patient there she has been neglected and ignored. It started from day 1. She pushed her call light button for the nurse to come. She needed her medication for pain from her spleen surgery. 2-3 hours later a nurse came in and said “what do you want?” My sister stated that she needed her pain medication that she was in serious pain. The nurse rolled her eyes and said “I’ll be back with it.” About an hour later my sister finally received her medication. About 2 weeks ago my sister wasn’t given a lunch tray. She pushed her call light which wasn’t answered for about an hour. When the nurse came my sister asked for a lunch tray and the nurse’s reply was “We forgot you was down here, I’ll be back with one.” He never came back and my sister never got her meal. Nurses don’t answer call lights and gives medication when they feel like it. On 9/17/23 we receive a phone call from my sister and she was extremely upset. She said her ostomy pouch had filled up and was leaking all over and her and getting in her wound that she has from spleen surgery and her call light went unanswered for over 2 hours before anyone came in. Then they acted as if this was her fault. I called and spoke to Debbie who is the Director of Nursing and she basically called myself and my sister a liar. My sister is there for Rehabilitation and has only been out of her bed 2-3 times since she has been there. The therapist said my sister refuses which is untrue and when they do come it’s for about 20 mins. Then the DON said well we’re not a rehab center which their website says they are. So why is my sister there and if your not a rehabilitation center why do you have occupational and physical therapist there and she couldn’t give me an answer. I was told to leave my number and the CEO Tim Phoenix would reach out to me. When I spoke to him, I feel like he brushed everything off and then had the nerve to ask me what I would like to be done with these issues. I said, I expect my sister to be taken care of correctly and not be treated as if she is a problem. He said there would be an investigation. And then hung up. On 9/18/23 my sister had to use the restroom. she pushed her call light and about an hour later a nurse stuck her head in the and said “Is there something you need?” My sister told her she needed to use the bathroom and asked if she could place her on the bedpan. The nurse said “No I can’t right now, I’m late passing out patient’s medications.” So needless to say my sister urinated on herself. On the evening of 9/18/23 my mother and I went to Kindred Hospital. I wanted to speak to the nursing administrator. When she approached me, she said that she will not discuss this matter with me that since my sister is sound mind, and can comprehend what she saying, this discussion will stay between her and my sister. this is after my sister told her to speak with me about the issues at the hospital. While me and my mother was there, I had my sister push her call light to see how long it would take for them to respond. It took about an hour. My sister has developed a stage one bedsore at her tailbone. Before my mother and I had left, she pushed the button to have a nurse come in to put her on the bed pan. No nurse came in so I told my sister that I’d put her on the bedpan since clearly it’s an inconvenience for these nurses to do their job. When she rolled over her bed sore was leaking green and was not covered. So she use the restroom and I cleaned her up and I washed her bedsore with wound cleaner and put some medical honey on it and covered it. When she turned back over, I noticed, she had feces on her from the day before. I cleaned her up. 9/21 ostomy leaked again was made to wait 6 hrs to have it changed nurse refused to clean it off wound. They used another patient’s prescription wound cleaner on her as well as another patients insulin. Unacceptable.

The staff did an amazing job with my mother. My mother went and to Kindred hospital around the beginning of October this year 2023. They were very communicative to me on behalf of my mother. But once she got up to that sixth floor that's when I saw things to start going bad. My mother ended up dying on October 26, at 10:00 a.m. . And I still don't understand she was doing so much better. I feel like investigating this but right now I want to get over one hurdle and that's playing in my mother's funeral. I was with my mama a lot before she passed away. But I encourage you all whatever hospital you send your loved ones to, don't leave them there alone, because the day she died was the day I was not up there.

I am so happy I was sent to Kindred for my recovery except being so far from home. I miss my family but the doctors, nurses and other staff have been very encouraging to me. All staff from housekeeping to the Directors have been great, always smiling and ALWAYS checking on me. I have received the best care, better than other places. The wound team here has healed my wound, so now I can return home to my family soon. God Bless you all!!!!

Mrs. Pam was amazing she made sure my stay was the best it could be. I absolutely adore her! Anytime I had an issue she made sure to address it. For the most part the nurses were awesome always on time and super caring. I did have an issue with atleast 2 but that's why I would let Mrs. Pam know and she got it under control. Overall kindred hospital was not a bad stay and they made sure to get me healthy again! They were also so supportive and encouraging. I will miss some of the ladies there!! I also want to mention on the 5th floor that there were 4 nurses that I absolutely will suggest to anyone, they always went out of their way for me and they were so supporting. Kim and Luisa on night shift I wish I could of had them every night but unfortunately it wasn't possible. They are the night nurses you would want!!!! Day shift nurses I would suggest would be Alyssa and also Mrs. Maggie. Alyssa is starting her journey for nursing but I could of sworn she was a nurse for years that's how professional and on top of things she was. Mrs. Maggie omg I love her I mean I love all 4 that I mentioned but Maggie was hilarious and she literally had a heart to heart conversation with me about how I ended up there. She was so supporting and she understood what I was going through because she had it happen to people around her. She encouraged me to do better when I get out. You could tell all of these ladies I mention actually cared and genuinely loved there job and even their patients! I recommend all 4 of these beautiful souls that I talked about!

I became a patient of Kindred Hospiyal on 9/1/23 thru 10/4/23 due to needing wound care. The staff has been amazing. They took the time to answer all my questions, along with explaining to me what was going on and why they were doing the things they were doing. Nurses Jill, Luisa & Jackie eere the absolute best nurses I have ever had. There is also an aide named Christie that was so helpful and so very kind. I would recommend anyone needing wound care treatment to look into Kindred.

Let me first say I was scared to go to kindred but I needed wound care and they were my only option. I had heard some really scary things about Kindred but when I arrived there they were very kind to me and took great care of me. I want to thank the nurses! I would like to say that nurse Luisa was on time with my wound care, medicine and needs. She was very caring and she is AWESOME! The other nurses who were wonderful as well is Nurse Kim, Nurse Jeri, Nurse Genevieve, Nurse Tanisha and Nurse Carmen. To the aids that were wonderful to me, I would like to say thank you to the friendly Raven. All of these ladies took great care of me, comforted me as I lost my mother while being in the hospital. They treated me with kindness, explained things to me and kept me uplifted in a very serous time for me. I had really bad and deep wounds that needed to be cared for twice a day. The wound care team nurses were very kind to me and when I did have a problem with one of the aids the nursing director Deborah made me feel secure that I would not have to deal with that aid and made sure she did not come around me. I hope that I have spelled everyone’s name right. I have now been home for about a month in a half and healing very well with the wounds all almost closed. It is because of the care and love that I was provided by all of the nurses I mentioned and the aid I mentioned. I am so overjoyed that my stay there was not scary like I had read and heard people say. God Bless You All!
