Everyone working here seemed annoyed with me the moment I walked through the door, the woman at the front desk rolled her eyes when I was checking in and told me it would “be a while,” asked for my I.D. then never accepted it when I offered it to her. They then refused to give us our vaccines because we were 5 days early for the 6-month recommended guideline. I regret taking a half day off work for nothing more than to be treated poorly. Please don’t advertise free clinics if you don’t actually want to help people. Better yet, don’t work in healthcare if you don’t actually want to help people.

I have to say that this place requires some staff overhaul because the unprofessional behavior goes across the board. The front receptionist and security guard are uninviting at the entrance and rude without any reason. Once you enter at the back it is an organizational mess. They lost my medical document and proceeded to schedule an appointment on a day when I repeatedly stated that I am at work. I will give one star extra for a nurse practitioner as she was the nicest person that I've encountered there. I hope the director is reading some of the reviews because it makes the whole public health department look really bad in the eyes of the public.

Called with a restaurant complaint where I became very ill eating there. The woman at the health department answered the phone and acted like I was interrupting her day. Very rude tone in her voice. Immediately threw me on hold and didn't come back. She just didn't want to deal with it. If you don't like your job , why not just quit. Super poor service. Very disappointed that someone in public service would act that way. You should take the public's health serious.

Agreeing with other posts, the reception personnel are rude and dislike any interruption of their time drawing a check. Took a relative here for a TB test mandated by INS. Showed 15 minutes early for appointment, waited one hour and 15 minutes to be seen for same appointment. One hour later, informed X-ray person didn't show for work, which is typical, and was told we had to go to UL hospital to get x-rays. UL hospital person said this clinic sends people to them every day of the week, so if someone's on the payroll at the clinic to take x-rays, fraud is happening. Was told by INS there was no charge for service, however clinic wanted payment as well as UL hospital wanting their share because clinic sent us there. Also be advised, the parking is only for employees, you'll need to find a place on the street and take a chance one of the garbage parking meters works. The most terrible experience ever with an entity belonging to the city and paid for with my tax money. Deplorable.

The Louisville Metro Health Dept will not adjust their mask policy FOR PRESCHOOL students age 5 and under in light of the ruling by the State Supreme Court on k-12 and the EO residence, in regard to mask mandates? I would like our kids to finally breathe freely and not live in a spirit of fear any longer, And especially as it pertains to private schools. My 5 year old doesn't understand why adults and his older siblings including our governor and mayor, are not required to mask, but he at age 5 has to??? It is borderline child abuse, and seriously hampering our child's ability to learn bc he can't speak or breathe through a mask and improve verbal communication by reading lips. PLEASE CHANGE THE Lou metro Health dept. POLICY on this ASAP! The LMPHD has been strong-arming schools behind the scenes to force compliment like a Gestapo for the past year, public and private schools included. Give back our freedom! Sincerely, concerned parents.

Called the health department covid hotline recently for urgent info to get myself a covid PCR test. They were immediately dismissive when they heard I didn't have insurance and were insistent on me using this one service that costs $160 without insurance. Later on I found out Walgreens provides these for free, and I have a hard time believing they didn't know that, or at least they really should have.

I worked for LMPHW for over a year and a half with a staffing company. I was a temp, I knew that. But lmphw decided they wanted to cut my assignment short, by letting me know the day of that I would no longer be employed with Louisville metro. It was unprofessional and not right that my coworker and I didn’t get any notice that our job was ending so early. We got a 2 hour notice on a Monday that it would be ending.. so unprofessional.

We had a lead specialist, Marty Carter, come to our home after I found lead dust and paint. I was worried about my baby, but she came out to the house very soon after I reached out and really eased my fears. She is extremely knowledgeable about lead, and I can tell that she is passionate about protecting children and families. We are so lucky to have her working for our city!
