It's all about perspective. I flew in to be with a family member at a nearby hospital. After a very long, tiring day I needed a clean, comfortable room to relax and unwind. I slept on a comfortable bed, had a nice hot shower and then headed down to a very tasty breakfast served by Robert in the small but adequate cafe downstairs. The Commonwealth Bowl was a hearty mix of scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes and cheddar cheese that hit the spot. After a second cup of hot coffee it was time to head back to the hospital. I had read reviews of this establishment prior to landing and saw numerous compliments on Wanda, the GM. Let me say that upon meeting her when I stepped into the lobby she did not disappoint. Very friendly, attentive and caring upon learning I was joining my family members that had previously checked in for our ill relative. As I said, perspective. We needed a place close to the hospital, that was clean, where we could get a cup of coffee and a bit of breakfast, and our expectations were not only met but exceeded exceptionally. Thank you Wanda and staff!

The hotel was located near a venue where I attended 2 days of meetings. The staff were very cordial and friendly, especially recognizing Veteran's Day. My room was very small and located on the ground floor with large windows to the street on one side and a parking area on the other. The hotel itself has been updated even though in an old building. The location is great if you are doing anything downtown.

Was a poor experience from the get go. The staff that checked us in was rude and refused to answer our questions. The room was tiny and dirty. The “clean” towels in the bathroom had hair on them. The towels were extremely thin and rough. However the absolute worst part, is that you will get no sleep in this hotel. The room we stayed in was right next to a stair well. Many of the rooms are because of the layout of the hotel. The door to the stairwell slams so extremely hard and loudly it woke us up all night and all morning. It was impossible to sleep with the sounds of the door booming shut as people and staff came and went. On top of that, the door to our room had a good 2-3 inch gap at the bottom. So it didn’t block noise from the hall or light. Our entire room was illuminated from the hallway light coming under and around the door. I would never stay at this hotel again. I am a rewards member, and usually will preference holiday inn hotels. I have to re evaluate that now.

John at the front desk and Jessica at the bar were friendly and helpful. The late night front desk was also helpful and friendly (did not catch her name). The room was clean and even though we skipped breakfast it would have been complimentary with our reasonable room fare.

Was overcharged for parking (double; $38 vs. $19 quoted at front desk and online) for a 1 night stay (dispute submitted to our CC - awaiting response); room was exceptionally small, attempts to call in advance of our visit were met with incoherent responses, and there was a small dog in the room next to us that was barking all hours of our stay. Location was convenient to downtown Louisville spots, but not safe after dark - there was multiple sirens and a substantial crime scene with several streets blocked off next to the hotel as we were leaving in the morning.

I’m a huge IHG Hotel guy but whoever designed the layout of this hotel should be horse whipped. This is one of the worst Holiday Inn’s I’ve ever stayed at and I travel a lot (Diamond Elite). You have to walk past many rooms on the 1st floor after check-in to get to the elevator which means lots of noise from those people. Also, the other entrance side doors are noisy. Good luck sleeping unless you’re a Grizzly Bear. Just to be clear, the layout/floor plan is my only complaint here, all the workers and amenities are excellent BUT quietness/sleep is what’s the most important feature of a hotel, at least, for me.

Ok I can’t lie, hotel rooms are tight. We booked a queen, but upon arrival it looked like a full && previous reviews are correct—not a suitable space for two people let alone a suitcase. HOWEVER, front desk agent was extremely courteous. She upgraded us to a king upon request && gave us two free drink/breakfast coupons! Also, the parking lot is small so if you go out at night just expect to park in their overflow lot && walk to hotel.

I stay in a lot of IHG hotels (points) and they're normally pretty decent, but this one is not up to standards, despite looking relatively new. Stay elsewhere. I'm a rewards member at IHG and like someone else said, frequently you'll get an upgrade, but not here. First warning, the front doors wouldn't open and the clerk had to buzz us in. The clerk seemed annoyed that we were checking in, and asked us how many keys we wanted. We asked for two. She gave us one key. Then we go up to the room and one of the two elevators is broken, so it takes forever and there's crowd because everyone is checking in, going to the gym, leaving, etc. There's a dog barking alone in a room on one of the floors. (I didn't know it was pet-friendly, wouldn't have stayed here if I'd known that.) There's an ENORMOUS stain on the carpet outside of the elevator on the third floor, it looks like something died. The room is fine, but the people checking in across the hall had been given a key to a room that had someone else's stuff in it already!! WHAT. Also: You only get one bar of soap so you have to move the bar of soap from the shower to the sink and back again. The lotion and shampoo had both been used already. I just think, you know. They can do better. There's an Aloft down the street that's probably better.

If your ever in Louisville. Have to go to the Hospitals, Stay at Holiday Inn. It is in walking distance of the hospitals. Very nice hotel. We had pleasure of meeting the GM Wanda. Very nice lady with great hospitality. Would stay here again. Thanks for making our stay pleasant.

Where do I start!? The room size is incredibly small barely any room to put a large suit case. Bed was comfortable and room was decently clean... the hotel staff was clueless, they couldn't answer the most basic questions the parking is an additional fee not mentioned when booking then to top it off I stayed 5 nights and didn't have a spot to park for any of those nights they sent me a block and a half away to a parking garage with multiple bums sleeping in the stair way( didn't feel safe at all! Then had to walk back to the hotel and my car every morning and evening so if you have a disability or just trouble walking long distances I definitely don't recommend this location. Breakfast in the morning takes 45 min to get your food coffee is half grounds the price that we paid was not justified in the slightest I'm extremely disappointed with my experience

Our stay at this hotel was perfect. Customer service was next level. Wanda was the most friendly person we met during our stay in Louisville! She pointed us to where we needed to go and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. We felt like family! The bed was soooo comfy, the room was cool and clean. Highly recommend!!

When we checked in, we were given a room massively soaked by a leaking AC unit. There was also a large water stain on the ceiling, suggesting this wasn't a one-off occurrence. When I went back to the front desk, the associate there seemed annoyed with me that I was bringing it up. But, she gave us a new room. We collected our things and went to the new room and the key card didn't work. So I had to go back to the front desk. Now, every time I had to go back to the desk, I had to stand in a 15 to 20 minute line because it seemed everyone else was also having issues (checking-in, not having the right documentation, and the associate just generally having no sense of urgency). We finally got the last of our things from the car and then the external door (which unlocks with the key card) then wouldn't work. So we had to circle the whole hotel. The final room was fine, nothing special, but the bar had been set terribly low. Although we were a short walk from downtown, I would not stay here again and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone I know.

The two staff members I dealt with were exceptional. The room was gorgeous, clean, and well maintained. The $18 parking charge seems the norm for downtown hotels there. And, of course, the facts that the lot wasn't packed and right next to the hotel were great bonuses. I would stay nowhere else if I find myself back in the area.

Didn't particularly like the location but I chose it so I can't complain too much. Front desk staff was great. Room itself was mediocre. It was clean quick is a definite plus!!! Smoke detector was dangling from the ceiling. Flooring was messed up and we kept stepping on the sticky glue. Bed was not comfortable.

I stayed here while my father was in the hospital. It was close to the hospital and easy to get to and from. Lena & Jay were so helpful. When my father has to go back next year I plan on staying there again. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

Stairwells have trash, the room (next to the elevator) was tiny, clean, but tiny. $19 to park in a virtually empty lot. They say they have a restaurant and bar but neither were open for use. This morning, breakfast was unavailable because “The cook screwed up his schedule and came in yesterday!!!???” Hopefully this is a one off, but I definitely will not find out. I understand that the pandemic has caused staffing issues, but being upfront about limited services would make me feel better before I open my wallet.

Well, I see a lot of hotels, and I didn’t enjoy this one. I attached photos of my room for reference, it was large because it was a handicap room. I was on the 3rd floor, and I could hear everything going on outside. Cars racing and such. The thermostat and lights by the bed were hard to find. I literally had to call down to figure out where the switches were, but the phone kept ringing like it was busy. So took me a while to find both. And the central air vent was really loud and there was no way of controlling it. Sound up on that video. The bed was comfortable and clean though. The staff was trying to be nice downstairs, and lobby area looked good. Overall that’s just my experience, and I won’t be staying there again.

Wanda, a front desk agent, is THE BEST!! Her coworker on 03/25 was amazing as well (sorry, never got his name). Wanda is very kind and friendly. Our room took a little bit long to get ready after the 3pm check in time, but Wanda kept us entertained in the lobby until it was ready. Her and her colleague also offered us some refreshments while we waited. The hotel is in a great location. It’s a close drive to the convention center and KFC YUM! center. I wouldn’t walk in the city as it seems very dangerous. There are a ton of restaurants around the hotel. Parking is okay, as the hotel’s lot is very small. The rooms are very clean and comfy. Love the modern aspects of the rooms too.

This property is not maintained and advertised as it should be. - Not enough parking to accommodate a full hotel. Had to park a block over in a parking garage. - Room was not cleaned properly. There were crumbs on the ground from the precious guest. Blood stain on one of our pillows. Dirt clumps on AC. Hair left over in the bathroom. - Room was abnormally small for a one bed. Not enough space to put a large suitcase down let alone space for two people. There was also a 2 inch gap letting in light and sound from the hall at night.

We had a lovely stay and this newly remodeled beautiful hotel! The interior design was very well thought of, down to brand new comfortable arm chairs, hooks for my clothes and huge countertop in the bathroom for all our ladies things (make up)! Easy parking, nice bar, friendly staff and delicious breakfast! We had a free voucher which was so appreciated! Even the gallery display in the cafeteria was right on point, featuring the very meaning of rural Kentucky. The chef Robert’s southern accent only added charm to the whole experience 😊 Would definitely come back and recommend to all my family and friends!

This night Definitely became a Core memory for me. Beautiful room. Very comfortable bed. 5th floor with a great window and nook area to sit and enjoy the view. Very surprised by the Dove travel size products in the bathroom available for us. Dove shampoo, conditioner, and lotion 🤩. I'm very into the details and let me tell you, this did not disappoint.

Very clean and comfy rooms! Breakfast is not complimentary. We knew that going in. We paid for it and was surprised it was a full dining experience rather than a buffet. Paying to park was unfortunate but also knew that going in. We were able to park at hotel instead of parking garage but I'm sure if it was a busier weekend people would need to park in overflow. Not a great area but not far from things. Overall would stay again due to comfortability and cleanliness.

Nice little hotel near enough downtown to walk. Desk staff was very helpful and friendly, especially Jarid on night shift. We had a nice clean, corner room. 2 reasons I didn't give 5 stars: the parking lot is small/limited (there is an overflow option a few blocks away), and the restaurant was not always dependable due to staffing issues. But not a deal breaker, would stay here again!

I see that a lot of people didn't have a great experience with this hotel but that wasn't how things went for me at all. Very friendly attendant at the front desk got me checked in right away with my dog at no extra charge. Free parking. The room was a little small but it's a downtown hotel so really can't complain. Everything was extremely tidy. For the price and location I would definitely stay here again as a Solo traveler... If you have a full family the room might be a little tight for you

I booked my room through a third party, and probably will not get refund. I went to front desk to inquire to turn heat to warm room. The young lady, I spoke with gave me instructions but, that did not work, ended up going to front desk a second, an offer was made to get me another room, I declined offer, I had too much stuff to move. I eventually checked out frustrated. The shower curtain had dirt on it and room was dusty. I don't have plans to use the hotel again.

Over all my experience in this hotel was "OK". The hotel staff were polite and answered all my questions and the room was clean. The issues I had were the hallways and exterior doors were loud and I could hear anyone come and go. The water pressure in the shower was comparable to a water fountain. My wife also had a scary run in with a homeless man that followed her to her car and tried to get in. My wife promptly locked the doors and once he left she came back inside. I did notify the staff and they said they'd take care of it and call the authorities. I did not rate this hotel at 2 stars because of the homeless man, it was solely based off of the hotel only.

Nice rooms & staff. Watch for parking fee per night. I believe it was an additional 15.00 per night charged to our card. The parking lot was EMPTY. I understand if space is limited but come on...

From the moment we stepped in the hotel customer service was impeccable. The Lady that checked us in told how close we to our event, the different things in the area ( gas station, cvs, and food). My room was nice as well very inviting, good night sleep. Loved the noon check out.

I was told they had hot Breakfast and they it was wonderful only to get up and have a grab and go breakfast. Please don't lie to guests that's not nice or polite and when ur expecting that and u get a grab and go that makes a Guest furious be kind be courteous and be caring never lie to the Guests please it's not what u would want either. Try better next time. Other then that room was very clean and staff was great and good stay except breakfast I went to best breakfast going Wendy's. So good and fresh.

As we walked in to check in, Wanda greeted us almost immediately. We learned she is the general manager of the hotel. She was absolutely amazing. Diana, who checked us in, was equally as cordial and inviting. Wanda was kind enough to give us a preview of the hotel and let us know some locations of where to visit. Couldn’t ask for a better experience in New Years Eve. Thanks again Wanda and Diana.
