For
its
staff
alone,
Laurus
Hotel
deserves
a
5-star
review.
In
all
of
my
travels,
I
have
never
met
a
more
personable
and
accommodating
staff.
The
owner
and
the
manager
promote
and
practice
a
policy
of
making
the
customer
happy
that
is
wholeheartedly
adopted
by
the
rest
of
the
staff.
Ask
for
“x,”
and
they
give
you
2x+y+z.
The
manager,
Andr
é,
worked
in
the
restaurant
industry
before
taking
the
post
at
the
hotel.
Do
yourself
a
favor
and
ask
for
his
recommendations
of
local
restaurants.
His
enthusiasm
for
the
topic
is
obvious.
Another
grand
plus
is
the
hotel’s
location.
It
is
a
5-minute
walk
to
the
quaint
old
center
of
Lourinhã
and
a
good
variety
of
restaurants.
Three
large
grocery
stores
are
a
10-minute
walk
away.
Right
out
the
front
door
of
the
hotel
starts
a
biking/running/walking
trail
that
is
a
pleasant,
flat
30-minute
walk
to
Praia
Areal
and
45
minutes
to
Praia
da
Areia
Branca
where
you
can
enjoy
the
beaches
and
another
handful
of
great
restaurants.
The
rooms
are
spacious
(especially
by
European
standards),
clean,
and
well
lit
with
double
doors
leading
either
to
a
small
veranda
or
the
pool
patio.
The
beds
and
pillows
are
comfortable.
The
walls
are
a
little
thin,
so
you
will
hear
the
neighbors
to
either
side
of
you
and
out
in
the
hallway.
Fortunately
the
majority
of
the
hotel’s
guests
are
business
persons,
so
it
is
generally
quiet.
Breakfast
offers
a
number
of
different
choices
and
is
generous.
It
includes
a
coffee
machine
that
dispenses
a
selection
of
hot
beverages.
Add
to
everything
the
fact
that
Laurus
Hotel
is
one
of
the
least
expensive
options
in
the
area
and
a
super
value
for
the
price.
It
has
an
official
rating
of
two
stars,
but
honestly,
I’ve
stayed
in
many
3-star
hotels
that
were
not
nearly
as
pleasant.
