We had a wonderful time from the time we got there . Hannah who waited on us was fantastic. The meat was amazing, I had the beef and a bit of lamb too and I would recommend it. A wonderful way to have your Sunday roast, because there is no cooking or dishes, you can just enjoy the amazing food that is on offer. I also had the jam sponge cake as well which was light and fluffy too. I preferred my second drink which was Whitley raspberry gin and tonic. Stress free evening. I would recommend everyone to do this.

I was passing on my way home and decides to pop in to see if they had any tables. I was found a table and was made to feel very welcome. Food was amazing and the chap that got my roast was a great plate filler 🤣 I'd definitely go again.

Great value breakfast. Lots of range of items to select for a full English breakfast which you can go back to as often as you like. Plenty of parking, and next to Asda if you need some shopping after brekkie.

Had Sunday Carvery with my wife here today at 1pm. Due to the weather it was hot inside, but still cooler than outside. The staff were excellent and the food was also very good. I liked the floor show with the unhappy customer, it was like being at The Vic on EastEnders. The manager seemed to handle the situation very well, however, with the customer continuingly shouting, I would have asked him (them) to leave .

Food served on a slightly warm plate, it isn't piping hot when it hits your plate, and goes cold before you've finished the meal. Don't like luke warm roasts. The choice of meats and vegetables is very very good. Sadly the Yorkshire puddings resemble polystyrene when one cuts into them. The service was excellent and the ambience good. Well priced for what's on offer.

I always want to be a bit snooty about places like the Toby, but I have to eat my words. Today, when it's 36C, I joined friends for a belated Christmas lunch. I arrived early so I could recheck the menu as I have food allergies. I don't think I have found anywhere as inclusive and helpful. It was all about what I could eat on the menu, what they could do to help, and lots of making sure I could manage in my wheelchair without being all over me. Just brilliant staff. And good food too.

We came on the 16th of April and it was awful, service on our allergies was non existent, no regard was given to our severest allergies. The manager handling the allergy decided to sit down and eat his dinner before finishing serving us. I won’t even mention the food as it was appalling and inedible. He also informed us that he would offer a discount for us upon our next visit, when attempting to ask about this particular offer the manager claimed that they don’t make offers like so and also the person in question “doesn’t exist” so i pushed for an explanation and was denied one, I’ll be complaining to head office and I’m disgusted at the lack service

Pretty much what you expect from a carvery, good stuff. Lived in the area for a long time and rarely miss a beat. Sunday meal prices are always annoyingly more expensive but it is what it is. Always leave happy and fed

So friendly & always able to help when needed. From a high chair to small spoon, fork & child knife. Quality & quantity of food is excellent.

One of the best roast dinners we've had out in ages. The food was excellent, with a wide range of well cooked fresh veg, choice of 4 meats and accompaniments. The restaurant was clean and tables cleared promptly soon after guests left. Our waitress Hannah was lovely. Friendly, hospitable and very attentive. Will definitely be returning. 👍

When we visited we didn't have a reservation and they was too busy to seat us in the restaurant, however they said we could sit in the bar area and order from there. We did that and it was easy as just went to bar ordered food and drinks and could then just leave as soon as we had finished. Felt sorry for the staff as it was extremely busy, they also had to clean up lots of mess left by animals (who just let their children chuck food all over the place without telling them not to)

Popped in for an evening meal on Saturday, very nice atmosphere, Amie our waitress was very friendly and attentive, the food was delicious, I was however surprised not to see any Brussel sprouts on the carvery section, this is normally a staple of a carvery. I was disappointed with the fact that I was charged 99p for a baby bowl when I had brought my own plate for my 2 year old and then paid 1.99 to get the king size meal knowing that I was sharing with my child. All in all a very nice meal though.

Served by Hannah who took great care of us and our grand children aged 3 & 5. Food was good, and we discovered the kids like Yorkshire Puddings (as well as Toby puddings for afters). Thank you Hannah. Well done!

The service was great with the waitresses and the chef was very friendly and we felt very comfortable during our meal. Unfortunately we didn’t catch anyone’s names. I would say the only thing to improve was the gentleman who’d shown us to our table, I didn’t catch his name, he was very blunt and didn’t show very professional service but overall it was the best experience we’ve had at a Toby carvery

I came in on a sunday and was served by Emily and Jessie in the bar. They were both very polite and charismatic. Food was great and the atmosphere was 10/10! I recommend this place.

Been coming here for Christmas Day a good few years now with partner and in-laws. Always had an excellent experience, staff are friendly, food is always beautifully cooked (moist turkey, beef cooked to perfection) and of course a great veg selection. Reasonably priced for a Christmas Day , good selection of drinks. Only slight niggle this year was partners crumble pudding which didn’t have a huge amount of crumble topping but certainly didn’t spoil our experience. We will no doubt be booking for next Christmas

We came here without booking for a table for 2. Within minutes we were seated. Drinks were ordered and within minutes we were drinking. Food was ordered and within minutes we were eating. Everything was as expected. Nothing missing. Deserts were ordered after a few minutes of waiting for our plates to be taken. Within minutes we were eating again. When we walked in, we were hit with a wall of warmth. It felt as if I had entered another dimension. A warm one. A familiar warmth. Probably because we can't resist a visit.

Came for our Christmas get together with my lovely friends. Our server was a lovely lady who's name I forget but she took this picture for us so hopefully she will remember. We chose from the Festive menu

I have been coming into this branch quite regularly and it’s the best place to come for a nice proper English roast dinner either dine in or take out. Tasty turkey cooked for perfection. Great selection and choices of food and alcohol drinks etc. Friendly staff and manager who simply know me every time i visit here. It has been recently had a makeover not long ago now and it feels really traditional and English themed too. The desserts are delicious as there are choices as to which one to pick.

Always a really great experience and food is very good. The highlight of our meal every time though is Hannah, who always provides the most fantastic service! Hannah always goes the extra mile to make sure we are comfortable and have everything we need. Hannah is an absolute credit to Toby Carvery. You are very lucky to have her as a team member. Thanks Hannah. You are awesome!

Me and my partner booked a a spontaneous evening meal here and we were blown away but the attentive service of Emily! She was so kind, welcoming and simply couldn’t do enough for us. Someone give that girl a pay raise! 5* experience all round - we’ll be back for more soon :)

Popped in here for a quick drink. Very friendly and helpful. My date asked for a plaster for me and it was no problem at all and they quickly sorted a few out. We sat outside which was nice only minor negative I have to say is that the benches feel a little short.

Went for breakfast yesterday, great value for money (at £5 for all you can eat (not including drinks)) you cant go wrong. I was hesitant at first as we turned up without a booking, but the staff was both friendly and helpful. There was a huge amount on offer, from the "standard" of bacon eggs, etc. right the way through to a Yorkshire Pudding, loaded potatoes and Gravy. Key highlights for me: sausages were properly seasoned throughout and the loaded potatoes (didn't expect them to taste that good if im honest!) we're great. Although I didn't have gravy on the breakfast - don't know many people that would if im honest - I feel the only thing that let the breakfast down was the hash browns, however, very small price to pay considering what's on offer. All in all, great value for money, will happily return.

I came here yesterday just before 9 and they kept me waiting for five minutes then said the kitchen closes at 9. Get here today at 20 to nine and the kitchen has just closed apparently?? The lights are on the food still and I can see food there. Complete joke, changing the opening times and waste of my time two days in a row. Never going to bother even trying again which is real loss for them as we just moved to the area and enjoy a weekly roast.

It is exactly what you would expect a carvery to be. Few refinements but everything as expected. A 4* if there were more choices of ale available and the prices were a little keener. I found it a tad pricey for a buffet / carvery. But we turned up with no reservation. No one had bad dinner, it was all tasty and we all left happy.

All the staff were so helpful and friendly, I had my autistic son with me and the staff did all they could to help with his additional needs. The food was amazing, the place is so clean and the whole experience was perfect. My son actually enjoyed his visit and was so happy and comfortable!!! Amazing!!! Leaving the restaurant feeling super happy, keep up the fantastic hard work guys .....

We had a table booked for 7 people at 20:20hrs and thought that at that time there may have been a limited choice. What a nice surprise to find the usual very good choice of nice hot food. It was the same high standard and good value for money. The staff were very polite and welcoming. All making for a good evening out.

Brilliant food, was seated quickly with all requirements, lots of space between tables, very tidy, toilets were spotless, portion of meats was absolutely huge! our only gripe was that we didnt realise our 18 month old is charged as a head even tho we brought our own bowl and cutlery for him.. also the waitress kept coming over to ask if we had finished a few times, we felt then rushed to move. But it was really nice we would come back definately.

Although slow to start with getting our drinks and food for the two 10 year olds, it was very busy, but food was good, needed a little bit more seasoning but good on the whole, space was made for my GDs 👧 wheelchair. Our waitress was attentive 10/10 on her part. Overall experience was good 4 stars 🌟 once they are back on track then I will give them 5 stars 🌟 😀

Staff was polite. When we got our first refillable drinks. We had just finished our meal we were just finishing our first refillable drinks . Lady brought over bill said no rush. Then we finished our first drink got up got our second drinks about ten minutes after our second drink the lady come back with the payment machine that I paid by contact less as she was waiting while we was still having our second drink. So if we wanted a third drink we couldn't as we felt awkward we was taking the table up to long to enjoy our drinks. It be nice to actually finish our drinks after the meal for us to call someone over say we are ready to pay the bill not feel pushed or rushed to pay the bill. The meal was lovely

  • 3/5 Joe K. 1 year ago on Google
Food great for the price point as you would hope from a Toby. Service wasn't bad as much as fairly non existent - nobody took our drinks order without being flagged down and I had to ask 2 different people for the bill. We were in there for about 1.5hrs all in all, just two of us having single course carvery. So yeah. It was OK. Not great, not bad.

I hadn't been to a Toby carvery in years. I was expecting something like a roast 80s school dinner but honestly, I came away really impressed. The roast meats were all excellent quality and generous portions, the vegetables were all excellent too. The roast potatoes in beef dripping were very tasty. They even offer a big plate for those with huge appetites for an extra £2. Then we got the bill - it was less than £40 for 3 to eat including drinks. But we didn't have dessert. Will save space to try those next time. I'm definitely looking forward to going again. Btw Toby carvery - you need someone keeping an eye on the front door - we were waiting ages and we pre-booked a table. If you can fix that then you'll get 5 stars for service.

This is the best Toby I have been to. Clean, tidy, bright and the staff were very capable of managing their tables even though it was very busy. Manager was professional and accommodating. Waitress we very capable and kind. Nothing needed improvement.

Went for a birthday meal with my partner and the food and service was amazing! Got seated within 5mins of walking In. Very hot and fresh food and amazing price. Really enjoyed my meal

We walked in today without a booked table, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We was taken to our table and was asked what we would like to drink and was informed to go up to the carvery when ready to get our food. The food was amazing and very good for the price. Our waitress Jenny L was very friendly, helpful and very professional. Myself and my husband go to Toby carvery now and then but when we do it’s a very good place to be friendly staff and all round professional and they give a very warm welcoming we look forward forward to seeing you all next time 😊

Just had a lovely dinner with awesome service. The beef was delicious and Hannah, our waitress, was really friendly adding to a very enjoyable visit. She even managed to convince my girlfriend to be a team player and have a dessert! Thank you Hannah.
