This place has a relaxing atmosphere. Big TV screens if you don’t want to talk to anyone and a decent drinks menu if you do. The steak and chips were well prepared. The salad was too bitter, but all praise to the chef even though our taste in salad differs. Thanks for soldiering on through covid. I’ll be back.

So friendly, shared some history of the building and we enjoyed our delicious meals.

Went for a quick drink and food while in my trip from Auckland to Wellington. It was recommended by my friend for it good ambience, nice food and friendly service. Well, the recommendation was not wrong. Every cent spent was worthy. Kudos to its staffs (service staff for great hospitality and kitchen staff for great food). Definitely, will come back for food and beer served. My wife loved the vodka-based cocktail named Rose Bud and the BBQ pork ribs is a must try.

Last night my husband and I went down to The Butcher and Brewer to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. The staff were lovely and helpful. We ordered the pork belly which was absolutely amazing. Everything was cooked to perfection, we were both so impressed with our meal. I then ordered the chocolate bomb for desert, which I actually managed to take a picture of. This was incredible, and great to share with my wonderful husband. The hot chocolate melted the chocolate bomb and it was an amazing mixture of textures and flavours. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu. Thanks to the great team for making my anniversary dinner memorable ❤

We were there to have dinner & celebrate my granddaughters 17th b'day. 4 generations attended & we loved every bite we all had. The meat was scrummy as was the chicken, just everything. Thank you for making our night out worth while with your wonderful service. We will definitely go there again

Atmosphere was not great, would recommend investing in some multipurpose cleaner the table was sticky and the empty tables next to us were dirty the whole time and flies everywhere. The rosebud drink was great. However we ordered 6 tapas and 4 came out one was wrong then we waited 20 mins and the other two did not come out then when asked we were told the fryer had a technical issues which the other server had just told us the ordering system had a issue and was trying to charge us for a dish we did not order. Service not up to par. Food was tasty but expensive for what it was.

Amazing new menu filled with loads of yummy food! It's a shame we couldn't eat more! we were looking forward to the apple crumble but our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. Excellent friendly service and wonderful atmosphere. Portion sizes are great value and we came away feeling very happy! Thank you for having us :) Em

Went to go try the Wellington on a Plate burger and it was absolutely delicious, especially for a vegetarian burger. The price was also extremely reasonably. The service was excellent which made the experience so much more enjoyable.

I love going here. The food is a bit on the expensive side but its totally worth it! The steak is always cooked to perfection and is a never lacking in flavour. The staff here are super friendly and pride themselves their ability to provide the best customer service experience. Tonight was trivia night and the host was so entertaining. Its also family friendly and has good food choices for the kiddies.

Staff were really friendly and offer wonderful service 😊 We got Monday ribs deals and it was super awesome! $30 for massive 1kg pork ribs and 🍺 I got the mini burger too and it was little bit saulty to me but still delicious! Definitely will go back and try more menus 28/08 I got the ribs deal again haha It was wonderful and the wedge was super awesome toooooo!!!! 100000% recommend

It's WoaP time again in Wellington. As we have friends in Petone, we thought we would check out the options near them for a change and saw the delicious looking "Non-Exotic Lamb" DINE dish (marinated lamb loin with nasturtium and pea puree, lamb shoulder terrine, gremolata, beetroot sauce, lotus root, confit potatos and rosemary jus.) being offered at the Butcher and Brewer and we were sold. So were our friends, so I booked us in a month in advance. The dish was everything it promised to be and more. It was beautifully presented and managed to taste as good as it looked. We also all decided to try their WoaP cocktail: vodka infused with spices and Sue's Fresh herbs, orange, lemon, simple syrup and grenadine. This was also delicious. In fact, all of the food, drinks and the service were very, very good (in particular the service was much better than we have had at other restaurants in Wellington). We definitely recommend people try both the WoaP DINE dish and cocktail whilst they are available. However, if you want to guarantee that you get to sample the "Non-Exotic Lamb", book ahead of time/let them know you are coming to try the dish like we did otherwise you might find they have sold out.

Tonight’s team catered to an extremely large table, the customer service we received was next level. We’ve never walked out of a restaurant gobsmacked at the quality of food, environment & customer service the way we did tonight. It’s been a long time since we’ve received a dining experience like this. We couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough! Thanks so much to the team, we will definitely be back.

Good place for a meal and a drink . Under new ownership from a few years ago which is an improvement. Food is better along with the service. My beef salad was very good with a good amount of nicely cooked beef (not over done).

Great place for drinks and food. Have drank more than eaten in here but the meals I’ve had have always been very tasty and good portion sizes. Alcoholic drinks reasonably priced and also do jugs which is always appreciated. Nice, big garden out the back too. One of my favourite drinking spots in Petone

Very generous Butcher Rib meal. Pretty damn tasty, too. Felt a bit empty the Tuesday night we went. No real vibe. Had an ok time. The server was friendly and kind.

The food was excellent, with a really great choice to pick from on the menu. The service was very good as well. There was a wide selection of wines and beers available. I would definitely go again.

A good local gastro pub that prides itself on the quality of its food. Sunday brunch is nice with a range of protein-laden meals on the menu. Poached eggs on sourdough with a side of bacon hit the spot. The funky chicken burger with fries comes with chipotle or hot sauce with a kick. The coffee is just filter (no espresso) so be prepared if you’re after a caffeine hit. Excellent service from very friendly staff.

We held out Body Corp AGM here in a private room. Great atmosphere, perfect room & excellent service. We had food & drinks (before & after) and we were really happy with everything ordered. Great vibe in the bar with lots of people on a Wednesday night. Highly recommend :-)

The food was hot and amazingly tasty filled my soul with happiness and great hospitality the food is worth it try the platters, the 1/2 meaty platter can feed 4 people, it has everything ❤🤤my Go too place now. Very happy customers
