Top service, staff very fast and food came out very quickly. Having a service button on every table makes getting service so easy and quick, a win win for both the customer and the business. Food was great as always, no issues. Highly recommend.

Good service. COVID sized portion steak. Felt less then 250g of sirloin. Nevertheless food was good, asked for medium cooked steak, got medium rare. Been to most lonestars around the country, this one had the smallest size in servings.

I booked the Mezzanine floor for a joint 50th and 65th birthday and i was very impressed , Very friendly staff and excellent service. Food was also very good and arrived quickly despite the # of people we had . They were also happy for me to decorate which I really appreciated Thank you Loan star Petone!!

Always come for the ribs! I try a medium rare ribeye steak, but it's overcooked, something between medium-well done, not my luck maybe. Other than that, the ribs is a must try. And beer of course. Not really crowded, but book in advance is always recommended.

The food is delicious but over the years the quantity and recipes have definitely changed. The quantity definitely has gone down but the quality and taste only getting better. Dinner last night was very good. Service was very friendly and prompt. One of my families favourite restaurants in Wellington. Ordered Glen Campbell Burger, Dixie Chicken and Stand by your Lamb. For deserts The Milky Bar Pud & Jack Daniels Chocolate Fudge Pudding giving 5+ stars ⭐️ .

The service was top notch! Friendly, fast and efficient. Food was great too. I had a perfectly cooked salmon. I wasn't expecting anything great but left super happy.

Such a shame to be writing this. Lone Star Petone has been our go to restaurant for two years. We've recommended the place to friends as being absolutely consistent with food and brilliant service. However, on our last three visits, we've had nothing but issues. Food quality has dropped, service is rubbish and the manager had a bad attitude when I told him I was disappointed with the drop in standards. He pretty much said "oh well, if you don't like it don't come back". So we won't. We'll go elsewhere and recommend that others do the same.

Came out tonight with my love for my birthday and everything was absolutely Divine tonight . Love the frozen margaritas as always The salmon Dish was Delicious and cooked perfect . I thought I’d try something new as I always get the rock the boat Dish , Definitely worth it, thanks to our waitress tonight and the chef Definitely a very happy birthday girl 😊

Really nice to hit LS and great to see the place full. I ordered the Lasso of Hog which was really nice. The pork was dry on the fringe, but a majority of it was moist AF! Crackling was on the money. Service was great as drinks kept coming and meals came in an expected time frame. Thanks team

Party of 7 last night. Loved the service, very welcoming and we were seated immediately. The place was packed but the starters and mains were served within a timely manner which was fab. Quality was great and you definitely get your monies worth as the portions are huge!! Orders varied but no complaints. I had the chicken burger...very tasty and of course huge. I did try my sons beef burger and the meat patty was a little on the over cooked side and therefore dry. We had to ask for water 3 times and over 30mins later, we got the water. I normally wouldn't point it out as they were very busy but our drinks seemed to come out promptly. In short, we had a wonderful experience and we would definitely go back again. Thanks LS!

We had an awesome night celebrating my partner's birthday tonight. I requested to arrange a cake after our lovely meal and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. Thank you to the staff for delivering excellent service and for the wonderful experience.

Tasty food. Hadn't been in years. Decent portion sizes. Meals range around the $30 mark for a main. Good table service. They have a button to press when you want to order or need service. Works well to get more drinks when you want rather than having tontry wave someone down.

Party of 9. Seven of us were done with our meals before the other 2 came out. Thankfully there were plenty of us for my 6YO niece to nibble from. When I approached the manager he didn’t hesitate to throw the servers under the bus. I told him the servers can only serve what’s available. I chalked up my previous experience to a bad night. But it seems to be the new norm. One hour between ordering and being served despite making reservations 2 days in advance. Having to ask for water when it should be brought on first contact. Poor delivery timing and a manager who makes excuses before offering a solution. His blaming the servers immediately was telling. The servers get 5 stars. The food gets 5. A table of 2 should have a pleasant experience. My previous visit we were 4 but the hour wait was still unacceptable. The manager’s solution was to knock off $15 on a $578 tab. I feel the 2 meals that were grossly late should have been on the house. THAT is how it’s done and perhaps the soft drinks. The kitchen is obviously understaffed. My heart goes out to the servers.

Not the best experience. Putting aside the kiddie noise and too-loud music to compensate, the food was not great. The garlic bread was large enough to feed half of Africa, but had just the slightest smear of garlic butter, as can be seen in the photo below. Enjoy that top 1mm, because after that all you're left with is dry bread and crust. The Dixie Chicken came with two halves of what must be the smallest chicken breast possible, with a sauce that had little flavour, compared to the last Dixie Chicken I had 20+ years ago in Wgton. No idea about dessert's because I wasn't hanging around to find out. This place is obviously popular if you need somewhere to take the kids for a 'restaurant' treat, or a 21st family gathering, but not for a date night.

Have been here probably two dozen times now, it can be a little hit and miss but normally pretty good. The most recent Time was so average I won't be back, old tasting smelly frozen and thawed fish with the pan fried fish, it was inedible. However my wife couldn't eat all her steak so I just shared with her. To the staffs credit they were really good and offered a refund of the meal but I didn't take them up on the offer as the entrees and my wife's main were tasty. Fresh fish would go a long way team

Food was good, good potion and it was a birthday dinner we have even been offered a free dessert for the birthday star. Service was as good as to be expected. Our desserts has been delayed due to lack of staffs and we were nearly left without the desserts.

Bloody mint, loved my food and drinks and had a good date with my boyfriend. Appreciate the call button instead of having to look around for staff like an idiot. Food came out fast as well. Front of house was lovely; thanks Pearl and the girl at reception 👋

Came here for dinner with my family and the meals we had were on point 😊 everything was so delicious from our starters to mains and drinks and even dessert. The staff were lovely as well. Even had one of the waitress let us know that she’s ending her shift and introduced the waitress who would be taking over her tables.

Food was good! My son enjoyed his meal (finally found something he loved) and the battered fish and chips were spot on. The portion size is huge and I couldn’t finish my plate (had to leave room for dessert). Service was a little slow but I put that down to them being short staffed and thankfully I was able to entertain my son while we waited. We made a game of him telling when the meal was arriving as he could see. Down side (and this was mentioned) was they got my son’s drink size wrong, it was supposed to be a kid size but he got a regular, he asked for rice but was given fries. Poor kid didn’t know if he could speak up and ask for his rice instead. The waitress apologised and came back with rice for him. We felt like a bit of a nuisance as we asked for a spoon so he could eat his rice but the waitress went and got him a spoon. Dessert was good, again portion size was huge and I ended up sharing with my son just to finish my plate. Upon leaving, I mentioned that the service was ok and told the manager thinking I just want to tell you how the experience was tonight. I didn’t ask for it to be rectified or anything but they took off one drink which was unexpected. We will be back as my son enjoys this place (7 year old) and it’s great value for money! Thanks again team

We had our work Christmas function here on Saturday night. What a great night. The atmosphere was amazing, the staff were very attentive and friendly, the food was well presented, substantial and really nice. Thanks to Renee and her team. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

I've been coming here for years. Generally always the same, although lately I have found the service to have dropped. A while back, the service was better. Someone would tell you the specials and introduce themselves. That doesn't happen anymore. Meals also seem smaller and the prices have gone up. Still, reasonably priced and the meals are always above average for a main stream restaurant. Basically, a better version of Cobb and Co.

Had my husband's 50th on Friday night and just want to say a big thankyou to Joe and his team, esp our young waitress Maddie. You did an amazing job thank you so much. The food was outstandingly a 10/10. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to try this. We will definitely be coming back to try more delicious meals! 🙂

Great for catch up drinks at the bar. Love the country sounds and interior. Packed with photos of local and international celebrities. Bathroom decor and layout are nice too.

So purely based on why we were there. Our group was there for a little dinner and drinks before a hens party started. Not an ideal place for this as you can image our group was loud and the upstairs balcony we were on wasn't ideal as it was not separated noise wide from the rest of thw restaurant. Food was decent drinks were good. More for group dinners then hens parties

Great place to go with huge and delicious meals! Can do big groups also, if you just want a drink there’s also a separate bar area and the staff are great here - friendly and attentive.

Meal was quite small and expensive for what you get, gets very busy at dinner time. All females that work there are in short shorts and skimpy shirts if that's your thing. Personally I don't like it, reminds me of Hooters in America

Been here a few times and the food has been a bit hit and miss but the last visit it was great. In the main area with a heap of kids and they dealt with us all well.

Food was amazing but i was very uncomfortable. The chairs are not really nice.

Lonestar is New Zealand quality meals quarantined with bigger portions too. Visited in few towns around NZ.

As always, great food, great setup. Always consistent. But its the friendly welcoming team that really make the Lonestar experience what it is. Family favourite, never fails.
