Great food. Great service. Great price. Wish we had started coming here ages ago. Fix menu was the way to go. Just 55 bucks for 3 courses.

Delicious food and good service 😋 However, the table was little bit small for us and too dark.

Amazing meals. perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Staff were friendly and helpful. We were all very happy with our meals and will certainly be back.

It was my daughters 23rd birthday dinner. The food was good, not spectacular, but it was slightly above average. We were close to the only ones in there so we made our own atmosphere (around 10 of us) but they had a nice ambient lighting and so was the furniture. The staff were courteous and efficient and although we kept them busy they were nonintrusive. They allowed us a little over time which we were grateful for. I would go there again.

Would highly recommend The Hook, the food is so worth it. Our family enjoyed the meals like literally everything we ordered - 5star on tops. Thanks to Yogi and the team for your fabulous service 😊

Fabulous seafood and steak stonegrill, seafood was fresh and delicious. Staff were friendly and accomadating. Made my granddaughter feel very special on her birthday and even took a photo for us. An experience to remember!!!

Dined at The Hook last night and had a wonderful evening. We had a large group booking (25 all up), every single person enjoyed their meal, including the kids. On top of the good food is super friendly staff who check in to make sure everything is alright. They managed our large group really well! The steak meals, lamb shank and salmon meals were a hit! Steak was cooked exactly as ordered. Thank you for taking good care of us, we’ve already started talking about returning!

Wow ! Top notch food ! We booked late and were happily accommodated. The crab ravioli was exceptional! Pork three ways, lamb shanks and sirloin all cooked perfectly. Sorry about state of photos but we started eating before we took photos 🤣 the prawn starters were on point, mussels delicious with a hint of spice. Desserts were just as yummy. Brownee, cheese cake and banoffee came in little jars. Well presented, lovely atmosphere. Serving staff were attentive. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Super fast service and our dishes were very tasty, what more could you ask for? This is a more upscale restaurant imo. Main dishes were in the mid $30NZD range. The pan fried fish was to die for.

Really very DISAPPOINTED with a Beef burger that I got just Bun, beef, sauce, a little bit cheese and stupid lettuce. But in your menu said; beef, bacon, tomato, cheese, hook slaw. LOOK WHAT WE GOT AND WE PAID FOR YOUR BEEF BURGER $26.90. And the portion of Lamb shank was too small, but the flavour was okay. We waited for around 30 minutes while the restaurant was empty.

Sorry but today this restaurant wasn't firing on all cylinders. From the moment we walked in I knew it wasn't going to be a good experience. The Waitress behind bar just standing there looking right at me didn't even say hello. "The Cut" steak was like an old gunboat and my ribs were burnt and dry. And the coleslaw I am sure you brought from New World. Sorry guys I am sure looking at your previous reviews you can do better!

Food was a little pricey considering the execution. Flavours were good but the execution was poor. Service was reasonably quick. For the main the Aged Sirloin was pretty tasty and the meat and mashed spud was great. However it was let down by the veges being barely warm. The mushroom sauce was tasty but looks like it had been put through a blender and it had split. Overall taste was good. The cheesy garlic bread tasted great was hot, but only one side was toasted which was strange. But if you do go here get this it was great. The deconstructed banofee pie was not at all what I expected. See photo. Again the ice cream cooled it down so it was not hot, but it looked like they had scooped it up and dropped it in a jar. Taste was ok. But the presentation and execution could have been better. Also not what you think when they say a deconstructed desert. Overall not as good as the average in Petone.

Enjoyable meal just nothing special, wasn't as good as we expected (thanks to the reviews). Seafood chowder was nice, just not thick enough (my sister was going to drink it which would of been embarrassing) . Side of Mashed Potatoes and fries came out before mains (we had asked all sides and extras be bought with Mains) . All in all glad we tried it, but probably won't be back meals were fairly small so not much value for dollar there.

Delicious food. Seafood chowder was yummy. We had pan fry fish, sirloin steak, seafood chowder, nuggets, beef burgers & chips for kids which they really enjoyed. Yogi's survice was great, came a couple of times to check if everything was ok. Overall 10/10

Lovely food, decent portions for the price. Friendly staff. Strange atmosphere, had club music playing quite loudly as we walked in which, due to the price of the food, didn’t seem like the atmosphere we were expecting. The music you play definitely determines the feel of the restaurant and if you want a family dining environment I would suggest hand picking specific songs.

Honestly the meat was chewy for a lamb shank, n there was hardly any gravy, definitely not worth it, we were all extremely disappointed esp for the amount paid! We had a booking with a full table, hardly no air conditioning for the heat! I'm surprised this premises has business at the quality and price of the food! Won't go bk

One of the best meals we’ve ever had! Delicious pan fried fish and a perfect steak! Yogi helped us with recommendations and he was such a great server/manager/all around busy guy - doing it all with a smile and the best attitude! Do not miss this wonderful restaurant when in Wellington.

I had a craving for seafood and was told about the hook. We were pleasantly surprised with the array of seafood choices on their menu. We ordered natural oysters and mussel for entree. Oysters were perfect without being waterlogged and the mussels with the spicy sauce, I absolutely loved. For the main my friend ordered whole flounder and I had crab ravioli, very nice. Great place, excellent food and service. Will definitely be back again.

Nice place ,nice staff food was pretty good. We were a family group 7 of us 2 kids 5 & 6 on a Friday night we ordered in good time and then from there were pretty much left to ourselves ): There was definitely a loss of profit because of lack of service ! We had 2 young boys with us and were wanting to order dessert and coffee but had to leave as they got restless. Also when charging the prices you charge I would expect home cut chips not crinkle cut. All in all an ok experience but won’t be rushing back.

Totally disappointed. As soon as we got there we had to wait sometime before taking drink order. Asked for water also for a table of 9 people and only gave us one bottle of water, so had to ask for more. One meal brought out before rest of meals 45 mins later. Meal was not worth the price. Wanted dessert but no one came to ask and we got tired of waiting. Won't be going back.

I had a really pleasant night with friends at The Hook! The staffs were super friendly and although the food took too long to get served, it's not much of a negative thing. Overall, we enjoyed our night!

The Hook is absolutely amazing restaurant. Top quality food and the service is so professional really make you feel like a valued customer. Went today for my birthday and they bought out a chocolate brownie with a candle to make my birthday special was a wonderful touch that gave a perfect ending to a perfect day
