I can't say enough good things about this hotel! I stay here weekly and know the place well. Everything's kept very clean, especially the rooms. The beds are extremely comfortable. Lots of towels in bathrooms plus high quality shampoo, conditioner, body soap, facial soap and lotion. My hair and skin feel great after using them! Complementary breakfast is wonderful with a variety of delicious food to choose from. The temperature of the pool inside is beautiful, warmer than any pool I've been in but not too warm, it's perfect! They have a hot tub and in the summer an outside pool as well. There are rooms with outside entrances available and pet friendly rooms too. All the staff, the Front Desk, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Management, Restaurant Staff, Everyone are all very friendly and happy to help make sure you have the best stay. Vending machines available, ATM and computers in the lobby for guests. Wifi included, charging ports for devices, everything you need!

What a nice surprise our stay was! The breakfast was by far the best continental breakfast I’ve had, there was a guy there making fresh omelettes and you could pick your ingredients. The room was spotless and everyone working there was super nice. We even got a free upgrade for our room! I’m not really sure why, but either way it was lovely. Would definitely recommend staying there to anyone. The room was a little dated, but honestly it didn’t matter at all, because everything was so clean, and the bed and pillows were sooooo comfortable.

I have stayed here a few times and each time was a great experience. Friendly staff, beautiful rooms, great location. There are 2 pools-indoor and outdoor. I swam in the outdoor one and it was so refreshing on a hot day. Breakfast was free and had a good variety of choices. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at.

The room is modern and the beds are very comfy! Everything was clean when we arrived and the front desk staff were lovely. Service was really lacking in the restaurant bar, bartenders unfortunately struggle to make mixed drinks (no cocktail menu). The wait was very long to order drinks... 20+ minutes sitting with an empty cup , despite being one of three tables. There are only 2 restaurants within walking distance and one was fully booked... **breakfast buffet didn't include bacon and the sausages are patties**

Rooms were in a very sorry state to say the least. There was dried urine down the front of the toilet! Absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. The bathroom also featured noisy pipes, a moldy corner, a water damaged ceiling and door. I am allergic to mold and this caused my allergies to flare up. The bed was good but I didn't get much sleep due to the knocking sounds from the fridge and pipes which were very loud and relentless. The one good thing, was the breakfast. Everything else was gross. Water damage everywhere.

Room was decent, clean. Breakfast was nice, the back parking lot was being paved so had a little walk to get to my room which is totally no big deal but for any one with mobility issues it may have been. The pool was out of order as well due to cleaning materials not being available ... so double check before you go just incase, this wasn't noted on the booking site.

The gentlemen who made our eggs in the morning is wonderful, to make good eggs takes skill and he did it very easily for multiple people at once. It is an older hotel so some stuff is dated. The staff was very friendly and we felt welcome.

My family and I took a trip across Canada from bc alberta and saskatchewan and stayed here it as great. we did not have a booking but they were able to accommodate us right away. They have a restaurant which was pretty good. Little over priced for portions but all together was good. The complimentary breakfast was the best we've had on our travels hot and ready to eat more like a restaurant style. All together I'd recommend staying here. The pool was a little busy but looked clean and also had a hot tub. I didn't use it but looked like it would be fun for kids.

What an awful experience. I was kept up until 4 am the night I stayed here due to a group of people partying in the hall the entire night. We called the front desk 7 times and they did absolutely nothing. Didn’t get ONE hour of sleep and was ultimately refunded 30$…. Not even worth the trip to the hotel. Awful awful awful.

The hotel was given a face-lift over the past few years. Rooms are clean and well kept. The receptionists are there to help. Actually, the whole staff is very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast is very much above par. My only reservation with awarding a 5 star rating - the room heaters are undersized and a bit noisy. Definitely recommended.

I needed a room last minute and managed to get a good deal on a spacious room with two queen beds. The room was a bit dated but everything was in very good condition, my room and all other spaces in the hotel. Room: very clean, comfortable bed (I usually have lower back and hip pain sleeping somewhere other than home but that did not happen here), there were four pillows on each bed (for side or back sleepers ), Keurig coffee machine, mini fridge which was already turned on and cold, microwave, washroom with plenty of towels and toiletries. The front desk staff were very professional, seemed well trained, and friendly. I felt like they personally appreciated my business. And the FREE breakfast was excellent, with plenty of options to choose from, even an omelet station which tasted great. The coffee was hot, fresh, and tasted like premium coffee. The serving staff were always smiling and friendly and efficient. The ambiance of the restaurant and nearby lounge was comfortable and relaxing, with subdued lighting and comfortable chairs and loungers. This will be the place I return to the next time i need a room in Truro. The location is good , about a 12 minute leisurely walk from downtown and the VIA Rail train station. The Maritime Bus terminal is also within walking distance. There is an Irving Gas Station & Convenience Store directly across the street. I highly recommend this hotel.

I would for sure recommend this hotel. I found the staff to be lovely and accommodating. The pool is very warm and often few people in it as it is used a lot of business stats it appears. The breakfast is of excellent quality. More than just a continental breakfast it has a very kind man making omelets fresh with veggies and everything! Yum! We stay a few nights and the cook overheard by boys saying they wished they had pancakes, well surprise on the next day he had made lovely dollar pancakes with chocolate chips for them and pointed it out. Anytime someone comes to stay and visit us here in Truro, I'll be recommending this hotel. Great rates, good people and delicious food. As well the bed was comfortable too and they are very accommodating to pets!

The room keycards deactivated twice had to go and get the staff to let me in my room. The breakfast that is included was nice. Staff were friendly but didn't seem super knowledgeable.

Front desk staff was helpful and friendly. The room was clean (except the one day housekeeping didn't come by). The a/c unit in the room was noisy, outdated, and couldn't maintain a consistent temperature (either too cold or too humid). Breakfast was no-frills and carb-heavy, as can be expected at this type of establishment. Overall, fine as a base for day trips.

There for our 45th anniversary and an auction on Sat. Last minute decision Fri. Sabina made it very easy to make reservation, tho filling up fast. Friendly, helpful staff checking in. Had 2 queen beds, large spacious room. Really big bathroom. Fridge, microwave, Kerig coffee maker. Beautiful buffet breakfast served from 6 to 10:30 in morning, definitely recommend the omelet made fresh with your choice of size and filling. Loved the homemade juice (really just fresh fruit flavored water) just the way I like it. Natual

I like Best Western. You pretty much always know what you're going to get. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. In this case the in-house restaurant was very good. Which was great because they provided breakfast as well and the breakfast was above and beyond what you normally find.

No more outdoor pool. The pool inside is great when it's opened. Rooms are dated, says renovated, but wall paper and a new bathroom mirror hardly constitutes saying renovated. Great bedding and pillows, though, and facilities are clean.

Clean rooms, friendly staff, but breakfast unfortunately, is terrible. Overall stay was good, but plan to eat elsewhere in the morning. No bacon, hash browns were so dry and stale, even I couldn't eat them (and I don't turn down any type of potato, ever). The best part of breakfast was the orange juice and then the drive to Tim's. But, hotel itself is good, clean, would definitely stay again.

Had an issue where one room's door wouldn't latch and therefore wouldn't lock. There was another room but it was in a different building. No offer of compensation. It has 2 pools, the one indoors is next to the hot tub, and is crazy warm, like 30C. The outside one is much nicer on a hot day, but gets deep quickly. You have to ask at the front desk for pool towels; I wish they were just readily available at the pool deck. Breakfast included was good, but nothing special. Coffee machine was broken and they didn't come around to fill up your coffee cup. It's strange that there are different buildings that you have to walk outside to get to, but there's lots of parking.

It is a conference centre. Fortunately there was not event on the Friday we stayed. Because the size of the hotel, the volume was still high. A little noisy. Other than that everything else was fine.

I stayed at the Truro Best Western twice in May, 2023 for two separate functions. Both times i was greeted with warm and friendly staff who demonstrated care about my experience during my stay - care of my room (a call from the front desk shortly after checking into my room to make sure things were ok). My rooms were very clean and comfortable. During the meals at the functions I attended - the food during both functions (a seated and buffet style - were hot, delicious and plentiful. My experience in the restaurant for breakfast was also enjoyable - there were several options to choose from and the staff were courteous and attentive. I was impressed with the chef who immediately helped a woman who spilled her juice. He assured her it was not a problem and advised her that he would take care of it. I look forward to staying at this location again and booking group functions- as it is important to feel welcomed in the way I was welcomed at this Best Western during my stays there!

I’m a local who stayed for 2 nights during the aftermath of Fiona. I was extremely happy with my stay, the room was immaculately clean and the hallways had a cool modern vibe to them. Anne-Marie at front desk was a delight to chat with, Patsy was super helpful for assisting me in getting a better rate and Adam from maintenance was very helpful. The complimentary breakfast buffet was a lovely meal to start my days with. Thanks so much!

Rooms are large and clean. Convenient parking as well as location. Restaurant severs standard hotel meals good but not fantastic. Waitresses were very helpful and pleasant. Coffee is hot, good and plentiful

Other hotels could learn from this hotel. A heated pool is supposed to mean heated and this place delivers. Was so comfortable and saw everyone really enjoying themselves. If you're there in the summer they even have an outdoor pool as well. Rooms were great breakfast is very blah but hotel complementary breakfast usually is.

I have had amazing stays at this hotel, particularly in the suites in the main building, but the back motel-style building is disgusting. I genuinely considered just going home instead of staying. Finding the room was difficult - numbers staring with “2” are not, in fact, on the second floor. This would’ve been great to know before we dragged our luggage up the stairs and down again, as there was no elevator. Once we finally found it, the freezing cold room was gross and in desperate need of renovations. Everything not in plain sight - behind doors, under the bed, inside drawers, etc - was downright dirty. The doors barely closed properly, the air conditioner was broken, the walls and doors were cracked and splitting, shower full of mildew, air conditioner broken, fridge warm with no way to adjust temperature. Linens were stained and looked dirty. Spiders in the bathroom, even woke up to a spider in the bag of candy I left partially open. The alarm clock had not been reset, so it woke us up at 7:00, and was difficult to figure out how to turn off. The wifi didn’t work at all. We stayed two nights, one with a voucher from a Best Western rewards program, and one night paid. Even the free night was not worth the cost of gas to arrive, and the $170 second night is money I’d rather feed to a seagull.

The two pools and hot tub were great, our kids spent a lot of time in them. The desk staff were great but the restaurant/breakfast left a lot to be desired. Had dinner once and the food was good but staff was not super attentive, took a while to get menus(aka, we got them ourselves). Breakfast was ok, they had decent hot options but weren't always very warm. Cereal, check before committing as the ones I tried were pretty stale. I would rather individual yogurts instead of a big bowl that had hardened around the edges. Choose your breakfast carefully. The pools were the redeeming quality but it was pretty pricey.
