My
wife
and
I
recently
stayed
for
(4)
days
as
part
of
the
Margaritaville
Cruise
&
Stay
package.
The
staff
at
the
Grand
Lucayan
was
excellent
-
top
notch,
friendly,
helpful,
catered
to
our
every
need.
I
can't
stress
enough
how
great
the
entire
staff
was.
A
few
points:
Staff
-
again,
excellent
-
the
best
part
of
the
entire
stay
-
we
did
not
run
into
one
bad
staff
member.
Rooms
-
unfortunately,
by
far
the
worst
part
of
the
trip.
The
rooms
have
a
musty
smell
to
them,
which
is
scary
considering
most
of
the
floor
is
carpet.
Was
hoping
it
was
just
our
room,
but
others
from
the
same
cruise
confirmed
their
rooms
had
the
same
smell.
The
room
itself
was
no
better
than
an
average
Motel
6
room.
Water
pressure
wasn't
great,
but
we
did
have
hot
water
in
the
room.
The
bed
itself
was
super
comfortable
and
easy
to
get
a
relaxing
night
of
sleep.
I
would
recommend
bringing
your
own
soap,
shampoo,
and
conditioner
(no
hair
conditioner
in
the
room).
Beach
-
amazing!
The
best
feature
of
the
entire
resort.
Clear
water
and
smooth
sand.
At
the
busiest
time,
there
were
maybe
5
total
people
on
the
beach
-
very
relaxing
and
private.
The
water
was
very
calm
&
felt
like
you
had
an
entire
section
of
private
beach
to
yourself!
Pool
-
the
infinity
pool
had
a
nice
view
and
the
water
was
clean.
We
opted
to
spend
more
time
by
the
ocean
in
lieu
of
by
the
pool.
Dining
-
the
second
worst
part
of
the
trip,
despite
the
food
being
decent.
There
were
only
two
main
dining
options.
Waves
pool
bar
for
lunch
and
Portobello's
for
dinner
at
night.
Portobello's
was
buffet
style
every
night
except
for
Sunday
night,
which
had
a
fixed
menu.
The
food
itself
was
good
but
the
buffet
style
wasn't
what
I
was
expecting.
Each
night
had
different
food,
so
it
wasn't
the
same
thing
every
night.
All-Inclusive
Experience
-
if
you're
used
to
the
traditional
5
star
resort,
all-inclusive
experience,
this
is
very
different.
You
still
receive
a
bill
for
your
lunch,
dinner,
drinks,
etc.
The
bill
is
for
$0,
but
does
become
an
annoyance
when
all
you
want
are
a
couple
bottles
of
water
before
bed
and
it
becomes
a
process
for
someone
to
run
to
the
restaurant
to
print
you
a
bill
for
a
couple
bottles
of
water
at
$0.
Also,
there
is
no
in-room
dining.
So
if
that
is
a
deal
breaker,
keep
that
in
mind.
Privacy
-
The
intent
of
our
trip
was
to
relax
and
escape
the
work/parenting
grind
for
a
few
days.
The
overall
vibe
is
very
relaxed
and
lazy.
There
were
not
enough
people
to
make
the
resort
feel
clustered
nor
did
we
have
to
wait
for
anything.
If
you're
looking
for
some
peace
and
quiet,
you'll
certainly
get
it!
Security
-
There
was
security
stationed
throughout
the
resort.
It's
a
fairly
remote
location,
but
the
multiple
security
personnel
made
us
feel
safe
the
entire
time.
Golf
-
I
was
excited
for
this,
since
the
package
included
unlimited
golf.
It
covers
the
greens
fee
only
and
has
like
a
$35-40
cart
fee.
Golf
course
is
easy
to
get
to
and
the
hotel
staff
will
shuttle
you
on
a
golf
court
from
resort
to
clubhouse.
Golf
course
definitely
needs
some
work
to
it.
It
has
potential
to
be
a
fantastic
golf
course!
Layout
is
great,
but
rocks
in
every
sand
trap
and
landscaping
is
rough.
If
you're
looking
for
a
few
beers
while
golfing,
it
will
be
an
out-of-pocket
cost
if
you're
an
all-inclusive
guest,
so
heads
up.
Overall,
it
was
a
peaceful
and
relaxing
experience
with
subpar
amenities.
If
the
staff
wasn't
so
super,
I
probably
would
lean
towards
a
2/5
star
review.
However,
with
major
renovations
to
the
rooms,
more
dining
options,
and
ditching
the
"still
going
to
bill
you
despite
being
all-inclusive"
policy;
this
would
end
up
being
my
go-to
vacation
spot.
If
the
unlimited
golf
is
going
to
stay
part
of
the
package,
the
golf
course
definitely
needs
some
renovations
as
well.
From
listening
to
other
couples'
experiences
from
staying
at
the
other
resort
as
part
of
the
Margaritaville
Cruise
&
Stay
package,
I
would
much
rather
stay
at
the
Grand
Lucayan
and
look
forward
to
re-visiting
once
there
is
a
renovation
completed.
