Whenever anyone hear or think about galawati kabab then first thing which comes in mind is Lucknow's Tunday kababi of course. Biryanis, kababs everything is very delicious at very low cost. There is heavy rush in evening especially after 8:00 P.M. so I will suggest to visit in day time otherwise you would have to wait for sometime. If you are in Lucknow then must go there and try it. All items are worth.

Visited the original one located in Aminabad. Must visit place in Lucknow to taste delicious Mughlai food. The taste of Kabab and Biryani is awesome. Visited 2 times in a week and planning one more visit before leaving Lucknow! Rates are too low than expectations!

You in Lucknow !!!! Are you a foodie !!!! Then why wait !!!! It's here you gonna find your nirvana. Must visit (with vacant tummy ) this kebab joint to find the perfect Awadhi cuisine. Not only kebabs, the biriyani, black buffalo galouti, sheermal, mutton korma all elevate your senses. Food is great, may take some time to get a seat depending up on the time of the day. Always thick with crowd. Price is also perfectly balanced (😜). The parcels can be taken from the outside counter. The serving is also linear, waiters may face some confusion with the table due to the the massive orders they are dealing with. Nothing to worry about. Don't try to go with your own vehicle, it's a bad idea. Very bad.

This place serves melt in mouth kebabs. The parathas were no less, so soft, so tender. The food was just to die for. If you go to Lucknow, do visit this place for some very delicious kebabs and parathas.

Not your average eatery. This place is a heritage. Services rendered are quick & proper Nawabi taste in the food. Not even five star hotels can replicate that taste.

While the world-renowned Tunday Kebabi in Aminabad, Lucknow, is often celebrated for its legendary Galawati Kebabs, my personal experience left me somewhat underwhelmed by the hype. It's possible that my taste preferences didn't align with the flavors presented here. Opting for the biryani also failed to surprise my taste buds; it appeared to be rather average. The dominant essence of kewda and gulaab jal within the biryani didn't resonate well with me, as the aroma seemed overpowering and didn't contribute to my overall enjoyment of the dish. Admittedly, my viewpoint might come across as unreasonable or ill-informed, but I can't deny my genuine lack of satisfaction with the overall dining experience at Tunday Kebabi. Sometimes, even the most renowned establishments might not align perfectly with individual taste preferences, and that seems to be the case here for me.

This place is worth the Hype. No prior reservations allowed, you will get tables on first come first serve basis. Separate family section. We tried Bade ka kebab, (Chicken & Mutton also available) served with paratha. It just melt instantly in your mouth. I would not recommend take aways if you want to experience actual taste of Kababs. I had this almost 6 years ago in my last visit to Lucknow. This time I got a chance to dine in have the experience. I got a chance to congratulate some one from the owner about how they are still able to maintain the taste. One suggestion which I would like to make is that waiters are dressed in casual clothing, so you might not be able to recognise who the waiters are. You might end up calling a guest for the order. There should be a code or name or uniform for waiters. Taste wise the kababs are perfect. Biryani was good. Too crowded because of the craze for Tunday, but the restaurent is managing it well. One of the food experience checked from my bucket list.

Its taste still matches the name it holds. From kebabs to chicken masala to mutton korma, whatever the dish is, it tasted authentic and like I have never tasted anywhere before. The place is quite spacious to afford a large gathering. Highly recommended.

15 years later this place had a newer and better look but the food tastes just as good. The "world famous" Tunday kebab lives up yo it's hype... Again. The best part is that it still costs just 20 bucks a piece... Not sure how they manage that. The place is crowded for a weekday... Wonder what it is like on a weekend.

Finally got an opportunity to taste the legendary tunday kababi in lucknow. We ordered biryani and mutton galawati kebabs. The kebabs were mouth watering and is definitely recommended but biryani tasted plain and simple, it was not spicy and they don't give salan for spices. Chicken pieces in biryani were delicious. They served raita after we finished biryani, service was not upto the mark.

Very unique kababs that fall apart and very tasty. Highly recommended the buffalo ones. As a foreigner I've had no issues with tummy so far so would recommend to folk who are visiting as a good local place to try. You won't find this elsewhere (at least I have not yet). AC downstairs if you overheat easily like I do!

The most authentic place to relish kababs and other non veg items. The biryani, tandoori chicken, Mutton Korma, chicken masala are worth trying. Varieties of bread but the best Sheermal.

"Mashallah" We visited the restaurant on Feb 28th and are so thankful that we made it here. Sunday was a busy afternoon but the staff was kind to get us seated immediately, he was also helpful in explaining the menu and the food items. We ordered Galouti Kababs, Chicken Korma, Shami Kabab and Sheermal. The food was absolutely delicious, Galouti kababs just melted in my mouth. We couldn't resist but reorder them again. Absolutely love love love love love the food and will surely visit again. We also had a chance to meet the owner and inform him of the amazing kababs and pocket-friendly prices. See you soon Tunday Kabab!

Big positive: Kababs are soft and tasty. Try this with roti or all alone. Will enjoy. They have good sitting area of family. Big negative: Parking could be issue here as this place is in crowded market area. Better plan to come with cab.

Very crowded.. You might have to wait to sit as most of the tables are occupied.. Tried kabab paratha, tanduri chicken and biryani on waiter's recommendation.. Kabab paratha was really the best I ever had.. Tanduri chicken was okayish.. Biryani was too oily and not that tasty..

In my 4 day trip with Family , had 2 lunch in the same place only to prove that this is the best Gulawti Kebab I had in my life. Biriyani is fantastic. Little oily , no added scent , no added colour. Very very soft mutton with rice , excellent mix up ..no stickiness. Kakori kebab is good. Raita is bad. Cold drinks either Dew or Sprite is available. Total bill for 3 person cannot exceed Rs 1000 with tips. Waiters very helpful. But a bit crowdy. Lucknow ee sweet pan available next door under umbrella but didn't like it so sweet. I will recommend every nonveg tourist to try a meal .

Probably the most iconic place in the city for foodies. We went there just at the opening time, so some time before the rush of the started. Loved their seating arrangement of families bit separated from rest, which I did not find elsewhere. Their kebabs are really amazing, and completely worth the hype. They completely melt in the mouth, best eaten with the parantha & cold drinks.

This place has wonderful kebabs on offer be it Galawati , Shami which go with their tasty breads like Sheermal , Mughlai Parantha , Rumali roti. Atleast 15 of my friends had suggested me to visit Tunday Kababi... And I never miss a chance.. they offered a long list of mouth watering dishes.. I could taste only tandoori chicken.. but that was the best time which I spent in lucknow..

Tunde Ke Kabab, also known as Buffalo meat galouti kebab, is a dish made out of minced meat which is popular in Lucknow, India. It is part of Awadhi cuisine. It is said to incorporate 160 spices. Ingredients include finely minced Goat meat, plain yogurt, garam masala, grated ginger, crushed garlic, ground cardamom, powdered cloves, melted ghee, dried mint, small onions cut into rings, vinegar, saffron, rose water, sugar, lime. Tunde ke kabab were introduced to the Nawab of Awadh Wajid Ali Shah. Lucknow’s iconic eating joint Tunday Kababi, started in 1905, is famous for serving buffalo meat galouti kebab. 1 star less because staff was not good. Limited people, waited for long for food!. No crowd, No proper communication between staff

Its a classic example of modern day online marketing success. Youtube V-log made it popular. But actually its just a mediocre restaurant. I've tasted much better food in many road side dhabas. Plus croud here is also a negative point here. You can get same food at almost any restaurant in that area.

Always my favorite tunday kawabs in Lucknow. I like chowk one also because the rates over there are very low but they only serve kawab and biryani. And at ameenabad, you get Air conditioned restaurant with more variety in menu.

The original tunday kebabi in the heart of lucknow's Aminabad market. Crazy traffic and narrow roads but the experience is worth it. Tunday kebabs were made original for a nawab of Awadh who had lost his teeth and couldn't chew but still loved his kebabs so his cooks made these delightful kebabs that melt in your mouth. Thanks to my wife great research and planning managed to go to this place. It a crowded place very busy and you will probably have to wait for your table. Once you are in it is worth the wait. Service is rapid and you get your orders in minutes we ordered all their non veg tunday kebebs with paratha and seekh kebabs. Also ordered the famous sheermal. It was an amazing gastronomical experience and was at dirt cheap rates. Definitely recommended to all foodies.

Lucknow and Tunday kababi go hand in hand. When you hear of Lucknow, galawati kababs come in your mind and which one? Tunday kababi ofcourse. So whenever planning to visit Lucknow, visiting here is must. PS: There is heavy rush in evening time especially after 8 pm. You will have to wait for someone to stand up from the seat so that you can get a chance to sit. So I suggest you to visit in day time for a peaceful food pleasure. After this you should try Prakash kulfi which will make your day.

Much much hyped place. They use lotsa of oil in every preparation whether is Kebab, Biryani, korma, gravy etc. If u eat such oily food u will 100% welcome lotsa of diseases. Service was quick as they want to serve many people. Food was average, u will get such food anywhere in north India. Very unhygienic, my plates were mot cleaned. I was in Lucknow yesterday so went to see such hyped place but I found nothing great.

The best place to have tunday kebab i guess in all over India.. mmm.. just lively kebabs that melts in your mouth and to top it all have it with rumali paratha.. you won't be able to stop eating until having overeaten. You should also try the mutton biriyani that goes neck to neck with the kebabs. The best kebabs I had in my life. I f someone visits Lucknow and haven't been to this place has missed it all. A must try of all times. Undoubtedly it will leave you mouth watering every time you remember it later after having them. A must try place.

First things first, for travelling to this place one should rent a cab or rickshaw for a hassle free travel as this place is in aminabad crowded street area. As for the Kebab they certainly live up to their popularity. Delicious succulent melt in mouth kebabs with nice flavouring. The kebab in paratha or roomali is also a fantastic snack here. It's a must try food item when visiting lucknow They are available on Zomato also.

Best kababi in world in my experience.. Wonderful and a variety of kababi available here.. A place in UP where everyone should go and spend a delicious kababi. When u r in Lucknow, without going to this place don't finish your travel if u r a foodie especially non-vegetarian.. There are other kababi restaurants also in this particular street but don't get fooled as some rickshaw people will guide u to some other restaurants..

One of the best and most renowned places to have galouti and tunday kebab in the city of Lucknow. The entire experience of coming and getting the smell and taste of the food is so satisfying. The dining in place may not be best in terms of ambience but the food makes up for every other aspect. Highly recommended for any one in Lucknow. Try tunday kebab, paratha and biriyani.

Disappointed just Disappointed for a place this famous you expected the best but It was not like that at all first kabab's were not that great to be honest I didn't like them and they had this big kabab menu but they didn't had anything other than gilauti kabab. Staff is nice and khir was good other than that it's just a overrated overhyped place

One of the most famous and old restaurants in Lucknow, it can surely settle your kebab cravings, the food is good, a little high on spices (if you like food which have the raw flavour of spices).

I had heard a lot for it and thier foods but the taste is not up to the mark and not matching the fame name. Also its too much crowded and very busy now days. You will not get a very easy and peaceful bite there. Going with family and kids not suggested at all but with friends you can try.

The best thing over there is just the Chicken Tikka..all other dishes like Tunday kabab and seek kabab and Biryani..are average in taste.. The place is well recognized, popular..you need to visit this place once you're in Lucknow

Extremely cheap and authentic food. Ample seating inside. Could improve on the cleanliness part.

  • 4/5 Aditya Y. 1 year ago on Google
It's a heaven for non veg eaters. You'll be really surprised to see their rates. Veg is expensive here than non veg. But overall experience is quite good. They have two big ac halls where you can sit and enjoy your food. Waiting time isn't too much. You get food quickly. The dish I liked the most was their kheer. It has superb taste. Rest items were also good. Only problem is the area where it's located is too congested and the roads are not maintained at all. So after eating if you take auto or rickshaw be prepared to face the roller coaster ride.

One of the most popular and iconic restaurant in lucknow!! Must visit place for all nonveg food lovers.. Gilawati, seek kebab, sheermal, biryani are must have dishes here.. But its usually crowded and you will hard time getting seat here.. Best option is takeaway!!

This is heaven for non veg lovers... I mean what do you do when you are famous? Raise prices and somehow degrade the taste. But this place has exceeded all my expectations pocket friendly and the taste is an absolute journey of heavenly flavours. I ordered these items: Mutton Galawati Kebab - 5/5 Chicken Seekh Kebab - 4/5 Chicken Tangdi - 5/5 Chicken Biriyani - 5/5 Mughlai Paratha - 5/5 Sheermal - 5/5 The Galawati kebabs had a melt in mouth texture. Chicken seekh kebab was a little dry but had great taste. Tangdi was just the best and cooked to perfection. Chicken biryani was just so flavoursome. Mughlai Paratha and Sheermal were so good. Can Improve: We were forced to provide tips which we would have given anyway but the guy just entered the amount and stood there asking "kitna tip add karu?" And we were like ye kya ho rha hai... Please ye mat karo bhai... Logo ko khushi se ye sab karne do!

Finally had a chance to enjoy the kababs sitting and enjoying the crowd 😉We already knew that the place will be overcrowded but we wanted to feel it. There were literally no place and waiting time was too much. We had Biryani and meat kabab with parathas which was incredible 😍The serving staff was also nice.

People like kabab. I haven't had it but my frd had and he liked it very well. Except nothing is good in taste. Bread (roti/naan) you can't it it properly. Service is very pathetic. I have order Daal makhani that is good in taste but they people not provided bowl to have properly. We cant say 100% Hygienic. But always there check night 10 pm rush and waiting.

I came all the way from Allahabad just to taste their world famous kababs. And I proudly declare that I have never tasted such succulent and flavorful kababs before. The taste of the kababs was further enhanced by the yummy Mughlai Parathas which were prepared on "Ulta Tawa"... Kudos to the entire team of Tunday Kababi for maintaining the great standards of making these awesome kababs till date which were set by the Late Tunday Sahab....

As always AMAZING 🤩 I don't need to say anything about it! Now Do I? You know where to find the good food on your plate 🍽️ My most favourites are Mughlai Paratha and Mutton Biryani🤌 Hope you like them too🤤

    1. Easily located from the main road. 2. Highly crowded place 3. The galati kabab is the highlight here. Also, the other dishes were good. You will get paratha, roti, nan, biriyani etc 4. Very difficult to get place to dine during weekends 5. Service is quite faster unless the waiter remember your order 6. Not so great ambience. Washbasin is not so clean 7. Come for FOOD only not for atmosphere 8. Iconic place of Lucknow

This place is Ober crowded on Weekends and Public Holidays. The staff should arrange proper tables and chairs along with the waiting system. Sharing Tables is not an issue due to lack of tables but that too is not organized. I was about the throw my bill but luckily I didn't bcoz at the exit you had old Grumpy man asking for bill just to check if we have paid or not. Over all I am very satisfied with the Food Quality, that's not changed since my past 2 visits. The only Feedback is that they need to get themselves organized.

Once you go there and you have to wait....do wait!! It's worth the wait guys😀we had mutton kababs, biryani and tandoori chicken..the taste was out of the world. Highly recommended. This was Aminabad branch.

Tunday Kababi is a renowned eatery and a popular culinary tradition in the city of Lucknow, India. It is famous for its iconic dish, the "Galouti Kebab," which is a mouthwatering minced meat kebab infused with aromatic spices and cooked to perfection on a grill. The kebab is so tender that it supposedly melts in your mouth, earning it the name "Galouti," which means "melt-in-the-mouth." The history of Tunday Kababi dates back to the late 19th century when it was founded by Haji Murad Ali, a one-armed chef (hence the name "Tunday," which means "one-armed" in the local dialect). Despite his physical limitation, Haji Murad Ali mastered the art of making kebabs and introduced the Galouti Kebab, which quickly gained popularity among the nobles and aristocrats of Lucknow. Tunday Kababi continues to maintain its culinary legacy, and the secret recipe of the Galouti Kebab has been passed down through generations within the family. The restaurant serves a variety of other kebabs and traditional Lucknowi dishes, all prepared with the same attention to detail and authentic flavors. Due to its historical significance and mouthwatering delicacies, Tunday Kababi has become an iconic symbol of Lucknow's rich culinary heritage and is a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts and tourists seeking an authentic taste of Awadhi cuisine.

Buff Kebab - 5 ⭐ Biryani - 4½ ⭐ Mutton Qorma - 4 ⭐ Nothing really extraordinary about this place, to be honest. We're in the 21st century and now, their recipes are almost with everyone around Lucknow. But if you're in Aminabad and a non-vegetarian food lover, you just have got two choices, Tunday and Alamgir Hotel. It's a great place to be in terms of ambiance but it's generally crowded during weekends so be mindful of that. Tip : don't miss Prakash Kulfi for dessert 😂

This place is the first choice of every non veg lover the great tunday kababi as they mentioned it will melts in your mouth thats really true kabab is so soft. So much chaotic tons of people come here to taste the meal. This restaurant is also famous in celebrities. But one thing when you go to buy kababs please tell them your choice bcoz there is mutton kabab as well as buffaloes kababs also called (bade ka).

Heard a lot about this place and the food I was visiting Varanasi and took a detour to visit this place .. loved the kabab .. went back again while going back to Delhi .. if you are visiting Lucknow or have some time to detour while going to nearby places .. make sure you visit if you love non-veg

This is definitely one of the best restaurants in Lucknow. Had a great time there and met some really good fellows. The halls have enough sitting capacity. Also it has air conditioning. The washroom is also clean and overall the restaurant is well maintained. Although I would suggest the authority to maintain more cleanliness in the restaurant and maintain a more hygienic environment. It's definitely recommended. Tried rumali roti, mughlai Paratha, Galawati kebab and phirni there. The Paratha and Galawati kebab were tasted divine.

It's too crowded as it is the famous restaurant who seals the best galouti kabab from centuries. We ordered tunday mutton galawati kabab, chicken seekh kabab, rumali roti, mutton biryani and end with kheer. Tunday mutton galawati kabab : Four pieces in one portion, it's melts in mouth with a blast of flavours. I went there 5times in four days for this. Chicken seekh kabab: It's as delicious as it looks. Mutton biryani : It's authentic biryani of Lucknow but I didn't like it. Rice has no taste at all, only a lot of fragrance. Kheer : Thick and tasty.

The oldest, busiest, crowded restaurant of Lucknow, I’m lucky enough to write my opinion and the taste of tunday mutton kabab (galawati) with rumali roti which is heaven on earth, the tunday was so soft and tender.. Highly recommend to try if ever made a visit to Lucknow..

  • 5/5 Mukund K. 5 months ago on Google
A very good place for Nonveg Lovers, had Mutton Galauti kebab, it was delicious. Try their authentic dishes only rest other dish or veg options will disappoint you.

Overhyped. I visited Lucknow for the first time. Tunday kababi is the must tried thing in Lucknow. But it’s disappointing and overhyped. Service is also not that good. The taste was average. The only thing which was good is there prices. Vegetarian are rare do not try there veg menu it’s horrible and most time they denied.

The good old legendary shop in Lucknow that barely needs introduction. The kebabs were super soft and tasty and as they are famous for they literally melt in your mouth. Mutton biryani was ok. Kheer was also okay. Main highlight is kebabs only. Prefer lunch as finding seat during lunch time is feasible. Gets overcrowded post evening

Heard many things about this place but received only disappointment. The food was somehow expected but not as good as that I used to eat in Delhi. The chicken gravy was costly as compared to the same kind of cuisine. My wife was desparate to eat galawti kabab and she was ok to eat and was somehow satisfied with th food. Waiter was forcing for the tip and sitted on my head to order asap, I just want to eat quickly and get out from this place. Note: If you a Delhi foody Guy, do not expect the taste and quality as compared to Delhi food, rest people can eat.

Amazing Mouth Melting Kababs served with Mughlai Parantha(more like a thick Rumali Roti). This famous eatery is more than 100 years old & severs one of the best Awadhi kababs which are famous worldwide. A little letdown is service staff. They can be more of a welcoming nature. The place is located in old Lucknow in Aminabad Area, which is also famous for Lucknowi Chikan Clothes. Nearest Metro Stations are Husainganj & Hazratganj You can also reach here from Charbagh Metro Station & Lucknow Junction (Charbagh) by taking auto. They will drop you near about Aminabad main circle, and then you have to walk a few hundred metres to reach there. Must Try their Galouti Mutton Kabab, Roasted Chicken & Kheer

I came here with high hopes. Heard many praises about it in various places. But we were disappointed. We have tried their famous tunday kebab. Which was good. But the rest of the foods were not up to the mark. They are not justifying the brand of that restaurant. Over all if you want to have the urge to taste a quality tunday kebab, you can visit this place.

This is a place to eat so don’t go for ambience. And ambience is not bad. It’s just that don’t expect high class restaurant feel. BUT the food is tasty. Service is fast. We had paratha and mutton korma, super combo along with galauti kabab. Had mutton biryani as well. We reached there around 11 AM as per google timing but it only opened and started serving around 12:30.

Overhyped and overrated restaurant in already too much crowded area of Aminabad. Food quality is ok, not much tasty. Veg biryani is like a pulao so please avoid it. Tunday kabab is best one.

Most iconic place in Lucknow for food explorers and definitely worth the hype.. the kebabs taste delicious.. melt in your mouth.. the price is very reasonable.. but you have to wait for a long time because the rush here is pretty strong..

Savored the most exquisite delicacies in Lucknow at the renowned Tunday Kababi restaurant. The atmosphere was fantastic, and we didn't have to wait at all. They served everything super fast! We ordered Galauti Kebab (4Pcs/160Rs), Mughlai Parantha(2Pcs/50), Mutton Biryani (190Rs), and Chicken Biryani (150Rs). It was absolutely incredible, especially the biryani and kebab – a burst of amazing flavors. I highly recommend trying the Mutton Biryani and Galauti Kebab. 😍😍😍

Had the popula Mutton galwati kababs with Parathas which was usual good. Also ordered mutton korma which was good as well and was light!!
